    Tristan with additional toppings
    Richa T.

Came here for a quick lunch and this place was great. Service was fast and food was decent. One of the things I want to mention is that this place was squeaky clean. It just made the experience much more enjoyable. For food, they have three options for sizes - mini, mod, and mega. For pizzas, the mini pizza is a snack size, the moderate is good for one to two people depending on how hungry you are and if you get sides. The mega is the same size as the mod, but the crust is much thicker. One thing I like about this place is that no matter how many toppings you pile onto the pizza, the prize is still the same! We ended up getting the Tristan (and added a few extra toppings) and the Buffalo Chicken, and shared a mega greek salad. That was more than enough for the three of us and we were super hungry BTW! Slow. Waiting for 25 minutes for one of the three employees present to make a pizza. Insanely slow. There's barely a line. Fir a pizza, a small salad and a drunk, 30 bucks is exaggerated and the service is poor.. It's 6:30pm. They should have more people.. Not coming back..

Part of the self proclaimed "Managers" the night food handling safety was compromised.

3yrs later and their quality of employees is atrocious. All employees claim to be the manager and laugh when food handling safety is being violated over and over. The attitude of the employees makes it an uncomfortable environment to experience. These kids working act more entitled than the average teenager here.

    Mod Pizza with hot honey

Pizza here is pretty good if you're a fan of unlimited toppings and a thin crust. I made my own 11 inch here and went down the line to choose a plethora of toppings ranging from salami to my personal favorites such as pineapple and jalapeños. The staff here kind of act like they are out of it. The person that helped us build our pizza kept almost putting on the wrong toppings and I had to keep correcting him. The crust itself looks like its been drying out for ages, I was almost confused whether or not he grabbed the pizza crust he was supposed to cause the crust looked like a tortilla. Execution of cooking the pizza was pretty solid, the pizza was turned at the right time and the crust really got nice and crunchy. If you are a fan of chewy, soft pizza, their regular crust is not for you, this was more cracker and flat bread like. Pizza was yummy and we had the seasonal lemonade which was refreshing and sweet. One of the reasons I really like MOD pizzas are because of their finishing sauces - we got the hot honey and pesto which are super flavorful. Another reason why I gave this review three stars was the restaurant itself was pretty dirty. The tables looked like they were never wiped down and there are things like dirty napkins floating around table to table when its not even busy in the joint.

I cannot believe the horrible experience I had here today, especially after having such great ones at other locations. I walked in with my grandma, it's my birthday tomorrow and we decided to meet near her house for something to eat, and this was pretty close. I walked in and immediately was told I needed to leave because I had a dog, I informed her that this is a service animal and she said "show me proof" and I told her no I don't have to and legally you aren't allowed to ask me actually, and she then kept saying no and that I had to leave and that this is a good establishment, no animals are allowed in there, I again informed her she's a service animal and she's allowed to be with me and that it's actually against the law for her to be doing this, then she said well, I can also refuse to serve you, my grandma and I left and sat at Starbucks, then I went and looked up the laws just to be sure, and what do you know? I am correct that she is not allowed to ask me for any form of proof, because they don't issue any form of proof. I went back in and showed her my phone and she said "well it doesn't matter it's company policy, you have to have proof" and I said "your company policy does not trump Washington state laws, call your boss." And she went into the back and pretended to. Then came back out and said he told her it's company policy that if there's no proof, I have to leave- which I highly doubt he said or that she even called him at all. I asked for her name, she told me it was Jessica, and she said "it pays to be kind, so I'm going to refuse to serve you anyways" but thankfully I lost my appetite at that point. I've been to other locations and was treated with respect and never once questioned or had an employee demand paperwork. I'd understand if someone brought a dog in who was barking or doing something that obviously shows they are not a service animal, but to off the bat discriminate me and my service animal and judge by my appearance wether I have a disability or not, is horrifying. Not sure who the manager is here or the owner of this location but I would love to speak to them about my experience today. Thanks for ruining my day and discriminating against me.

Leaps and bounds better than it used to be. The whole time I was there I was comparing every item to Scott's Dairy Freeze, who is clearly Herfys biggest competition. So how did they fair? First, Scott's always has a line on hot days, sometimes a very long one and you'll be waiting for 15-20 minutes to order. There was no line and we ordered right away. They had a wide selection of burgers and I got the bacon sourdough burger with fries and onion rings and a Blackberry milkshake. The burger was great, especially for the price. It was too saucy, but otherwise no complaints. All told, it was MUCH better than the burgers I get from Scott which taste ok but also feel like a heart attack going down. Herfys burger for the win! However, Herfy's fries were mediocre. They were McDonald's style, which I'm not a fan of. Scott's has battered fries that are fantastic. Scott's fries blow Herfy's out of the water. Onion rings though go back to Herfy's. They are panko breaded and crunchy. Not much seasoning, but solid. I would have loved a little seasoning on it, but even so, these were far better than what Scott's has to offer. Finally, the milkshake. This is what Scott's is famous for, but I gotta say, I enjoyed my blackberry milkshake from Herfy's just as much as the milkshakes I order from Scott's. Im surprised by this, but I think it's a tie. Herfys may even squeak by with a win because Scotts does a terrible job of mixing in their flavors or malt (it's always a clump at the bottom for me). I will absolutely go here again. Hopefully they read this review and change their fries though. If Herfy's can match Scott's fries in quality, and can keep their buns from getting soggy, then Herfy's would hands down be the superior choice to Scott's.

The meat is clearly the star... tender, juicy, and packed with smoke. Every bite tasted like it had been handled with care, not rushed out the door. The sauces deserve a mention too. They complement the meat instead of overpowering it, with just the right balance of sweetness, tang, and heat. You can tell they've dialed these in over time. What really stood out was how easygoing and satisfying the whole experience was. It's the kind of place where you sit down, catch up with a friend, and before you know it your plate is empty and you're already thinking about what you'll order next time. There has been a change in ownership/management, and the food is better. It was always good, but…read moreit's gone up a notch. I get takeout about once a month from here as part of our weekly rotation of "I don't feel like cooking tonight." Typically we get a hamburger and a cheeseburger, fries and onion rings. We split the very large portion of fries and the onion rings as well. Last night the guest in front of me ordered the jalapeño burger and I thought "Jalapeño? I didn't know they had that!" It's listed on the menu, but when you go to a place for a long time (for us, since the early 1990s), you kinda stop looking at the menu. So I tried the jalapeño burger, and I very pleased that they didn't just throw raw slices on the burger but instead grilled them a bit. It packed some heat, but without that raw grassy taste that you get from an uncooked pepper. The fries are usually quite quite good, and the onions rings can be a bit too well-done, so we ask for them "not too crispy!" and they're much easier to eat. You can get sauces such as ranch dressing for the onion rings at an extra cost. Other condiments like mustard, mayo, and ketchup are either on the burger itself or come as a free add-on. They have bison chili, and I've always wanted to try it, so I'll get that next time. The place is like one of the old-time burger shacks that you found on the side of the US highway system back in the 1940s, 50s, and 60s, which makes sense, because the main drag through North Bend used to be US 10 (which is replaced by I-90 3 miles to the south). It has a bare bones inside seating area, a front patio that is great in the summer but yikes it's cold in the winter, and their public bathrooms are available only from the outside. Prices tend to be midrange to a bit higher than a chain fast food place, but the food is better IMO and you're supporting a local business.

My first time here, although I visit Northbend quite often. This is a cute spot that I have been meaning to check it out for quite sometime. I was the only one in line and ordered a double hamburger. I looked away from the girl at register for a moment to double check the menu to complete my order, when I looked back I caught her giving mocking hand gestures towards me suggesting she was extremely impatient that I was reading the menu. She tried to cover it up, but the point was taken. Again, my first time here and nobody was in line behind me. I was trying to see if they had a combo option, which they do not. Not a positive experience, to say the least. I will not be back. Extemely rude. I'm sure others have had positive experiences, but there is no way I can justify supporting this business again with that type of customer service.

Felt like we were intruding into someone's home. The one and only employee was clearly annoyed when we walked in. Probably due to interrupting his time sitting at a table and being on his phone. The first sandwich was a a simple 6 inch tuna. Every part of the process seemed to be infuriating for him. Granted we were the only customers in the store. Asked for toasted... tray was aggressively thrown in the oven. Oil and vinegar was asked to be put on after the vegetable toppings went on, but that request was ignored. We asked for what we wanted only to have the toppings thrown on the sandwich. The second sandwich was the same experience. We felt like we were inconveniencing the employee and were just counting the seconds until we could get out of there. And I'm sure he was doing the same. I get having a bad day, but this was on another level of discomfort being so unwelcome in the store. I would be so humiliated as an owner to have such an unfriendly and impatient employee. After the sandwiches were completed we presented our coupon which was clearly valid and was for a free six inch sub alongside the purchase of any footlong sub. The coupon was denied and there was no reasonable explanation as to why it was not accepted, as we have been many times before and used the coupons with no issue (the coupon was also not expired so there was no reason it shouldn't have been accepted). All communication with the employee was a mumbled frustrated grunting and so we cut our losses and payed for both subs which were made with no care or integrity. Didn't think a visit to a subway could dampen a mood so significantly. Or course we moved on with our day, but it was a remarkable experience. Not in a good way! I would reconsider who you are hiring because we will not be revisiting if this employee is working.
