This place has gone down hill. It wasn't bad a few years ago. I've been going in every few months or so. But what I saw tonight, was the most disgusting thing I've witnessed in all restaurants in Austin. I went in to order a mod pizza, the guy at the counter had headphones in and dripping wet gloves on. He took one head phone out and said "what do you want". I said just a mod please. Without saying a word, he grabbed one from the rack and very angrily laid it down. He went to go put red sauce on it, and saw that it was empty. He grunted and then took the empty container away and grabbed a new sauce, while he did this, he moved it over so quickly and angrily that the sauce got all over the floor and other toppings. And I'm not talking a little bit, it was a lot of sauce just dumped. This frustrated him more and he grabbed a tiny sanitizer bucket and angrily placed it on the counter where all the toppings are. Sani water splashed all over the toppings. He grabbed a soaked towel that was in the sanitizer bucket, brought it across the mess he had made on the floor and squeezed the towel to have the water splash over the sauce he had dropped before. The sanitizer water was extremely dirty and you could tell it had been there most of the day. He came back to continue making the pizza and hadn't said a word to me the entire time from this. He also had the same gloves on for this entire interaction. I told him thanks but I'm good, I didn't want to get sick. So I left and he just stared at me without saying a word. There were other employees nearby and none of them even bothered to look over. It was a noticeable mess and he was noticeably very frustrated, but none of the other employees even cared. The place was a mess, and all of the toppings looked disgusting. The behavior from this employee in particular was so dark, cold, and angry. At this point, MOD is a stain on the westlake community. With the state of this place and the complete lack of cleanliness from the employees it's a matter of time before someone gets very ill or worse. My immediate action after this review will be reporting them to the health department. I am never going back to this place again. read more

DONT EAT AT THIS MOD!!! Went in to order a pizza. The ingredient area was a mess. Loads of flies flying around the ingredients which is absolutely disgusting!! The guy who served me obviously didn't care about his job and asked me "what do you want" and was giggling and had an airpod in.. also when he picked up some corn I had asked for loads of flies flew up from the corn so the flies are on the ingredients. It's a very nice area and pretty spacious interior. If you haven't been to MOD, it's similar to subway but with pizza. You pick a size you want and then it's unlimited toppings. I really like the build your own option where you can pick and choose your toppings. The servers are very nice and will help you with any questions that you may have. read more

I LOVE MOD! But this location has NO sense of urgency and has been missing something I wanted to order both times I have visited this location. HOW do you not have tomato's?! Go to the grocery store that is right across the street and get some dang tomatoes. How do you order a Dillon James without tomatoes?!? Oh you don't. Now it's just a cheese pizza with basil and garlic.. Watching 4 works stand there talking amongst each other while a guest (me) holding a baby doesn't get as much as a "welcome in" and I have to wait there for the one person actually doing something. And then to watch my pizza sitting there waiting to go in the oven, again while I am still feeling ignored. All I ask here is that you get all workers on board with making your guest feel wanted and not like I'm putting you out for ordering food. I have been coming to this MOD location for years now and they always hit the spot! There is only one price no matter how many toppings or extras you add on, which is why I love coming here! I don't believe you can get this quality of a pizza for less. It's like the Subway of pizzas, they have their preset pizza combinations but you also have the option to customize. All of the ingredients are fresh and it's baked in front of you. The whole process from order to eating takes like 12 minutes. I love how crispy and chewy the crust is. They also have really delicious salads and craft lemonades. We opted for the patio today because the weather was pretty perfect. This location is close to The Hill of Life on the greenbelt, which makes for a lovely Sunday afternoon. read more

Today was a bad day at MOD Pizza in Westlake. The establishment seemed to be short staffed and the staff moved at a snails pace (that is not an exaggeration!) and didn't seem to be bothered by all the customers in line and standing around waiting on cooked pizzas. One customer even asked for his money back because he ran out of time, as did I. I had to get my pizza to go instead of eating there as desired. Something needs to give, MOD Pizza in Westlake! I tried this pizza at George Bush Intercontinental Airport and was surprised how fast this pizza is made. I took my nephew here for dinner and was pretty much the same but larger restaurant. You basically pick your toppings like ordering a subway sandwich and then they cook it for you in about 5 minutes. All pizzas are about 10 inches and designed for one person to eat it. They have a wide variety of choices to make you pizza look common or go exotic. The dough is designed to cook quickly in the brick oven. This place has both inside and outside seating under shade. Plenty of parking available. The pizza is thin and crunchy and tasted very good. It passed my nephew pizza test where kids his age eats all type of pizzas. Many like it where you can order veggie pizzas and see the pizza getting prepared. So basically this place is great for lunch and making exotic pizzas. read more

I've never been a MOD Pizza fan, but after picking up my son from summer camp with his friend, they both requested that we go here, so we did and what a huge mistake that was. We arrived on a Thursday afternoon around 1:30 PM. Initially I tried placing our order online, but the system was not working properly. So I tried to call, but no one answered. Finally, I decided we'd just go in. The first thing I was surprised by was how long AND slow the line was. We waited for almost 45 minutes before we finally got to the front of the line. Now mind you, these are two tween boys. Their order was super simple -- one cheese pizza with bacon and one cheese pizza with pepperoni. That's it! Nothing fancy. After paying for the order, I went back to my car so I could be with my dog (it was a hot day). Then after about half an hour I saw several people that were in line after us, walk out with their to-go orders. So I went inside and saw both of the boys patiently waiting. I asked the employees what was going on and they looked at me completely confused. I told them that we had waited over an hour now for the two pizzas. Both employees appeared to be disoriented and stated that they didn't know what happened to the pizzas. Then over my shoulder, I heard several other customers complain that they had also been waiting close to an hour for their order. I demanded that I get a refund so I could leave and go somewhere else. The manager came out and fumbled with the cash register for several minutes, before telling me she wasn't able to find my order in the system (even though my bank account confirmed that I had already been charged $27). Finally I asked her to just re-do the order, which they did. My son's pizza was mostly burnt around the edges and he found some sort of plastic foreign object in his pizza. Absolutely atrocious customer service and complete inefficiency. I don't see how this place will stay in business if they continue to operate like this. read more

I love the concept of being able to design your own pizza and putting whatever toppings you want. They don't limit you on how much you want on there so you can go crazy with it. I think I went a little too topping heavy though since the flavors clashed a bit but it was still good and really cheap. The pizzas are 11" so they're personal pizzas but it was more than enough for me. It also comes out really fast! I like how they have a lot of toppings to choose from but I like Pizza Press a lot more. It is basically the same concept and about the same price. I just prefer Pizza Press's topping selection more, plus they have different types of cheeses you can put on the pizza! Although the crust is nice and crispy, it's not the tastiest I've ever had and that's why I'm not giving the full 5 stars. Based out of Seattle Washington Mod Pizza has a European style and quality made wirh simple ingredients. Mod Pizza has a Dutch oven one of the most mouthwashing thin crusted pizzas I had in a while they have a featured type of garlic bread that is delicious as well where you dip a pesto sauce or pizza sauce with it. Pizza sizes varies up to 11 in or larger. I ordered the pizza with sausage and very moist. The crust was made very well actually pretty impressed since I love pizzas all over town. As you know many pizzas in town are topped with heavy ingredients with thick crusts I say the simpler the better. This is how a real pizza is made and baked no tomato sauces but rich in flavor. I will made another visit because I enjoy thin crusts so I don't feel so full. I definelty am coming back for more and try other types pizzas and order any ingredients I want. read more

First time eating here, it's similar to another pizza place closer to my house so I figured it would be similar in quality, I was wrong.......I've eaten at a lot of different pizza joints and this is the worse one I've ever been to, I ordered online hoping to save time because it's a short drive from my job so when I arrived I just grabbed my order and went on my way. Awwww...what a let down from the MOD's in Mueller After my enlightenment in the Land of Mueller, I was stoked to introduce my babe to the new restaurant we would soon frequent. Since we were closer to this location, we gave it a try....Bummer :( For a place known for whatever toppings, they really cheaped out this time!! First, I had to ask for extra sauce and extra cheese from the get-go. But it's also easy to go snark here - "Hey, It's the Yard Bar of Westlake Kids," or "Dude, just pick a frigging beer." But I've searched my feelings, and let go of my hate.
