Ubiquiti had a solid reputation for quality and reliability, so I went about finding someone who handled their products. Yelp was a great resource and I narrowed down my choices to LA Wifi Guys, as their information gave me the most confidence. Made an appointment and David came out. Really liked his approach. Honest and transparent and not hustling me for upsells. He described my options clearly and it was easy to decide what I wanted. Not cheap, but very fair considering the higher quality solution and more experienced installation. It actually cost notably less than my original set up, which was done 6 years ago and had less features and most of all turned out crappy. David gave me an estimate for parts delivery, which turned out to be exact, and we made the install appointment for the day after. He came in and was very polite, careful and steadfast. He also was great at explaining how to operate my new system. But most of all, weeks after the install, I am sooo happy with it! Really great setup with excellent user interface and excellent camera resolution. The guy on the phone was friendly and upfront about all the costs and conditions. Got the 100/100 speed package and he said it would be $40/month for 2 years, with a $10/month modem rental. We had Spectrum (Charter) at our old place and it was $40/month for 100/4 (yes you read that right) and in reality we were lucky to get 40/2. Not to mention the ping was horrible. After the install (which took 2 weeks, only downside) I tested the speed and got 108/120 when plugged directly into the router. The installer was professional and clear on communicating. There is a $70 contract cancellation fee (which is pretty fair considering it also guarantees the price for two years) however it is pro-rated as the term goes on. Pros: Speed is as advertised 100/100 sometimes as high as 120/120. No outages so far Great communication from Customer Service team 2 year price guarentee Cons Took 2 weeks to get installed 2 year contract (but cancellation decreased the closer you get to the end.

They do changes without notifying their clients, and then follow-up is less than satisfactory. An example is they moved us to a server that did not support sql databases in May. It appears that they did it again in June. As a credit to them, prior to these experiences, there were no issues. They appear to be making changes to their server structure. In my view, they should either be aware of their clients needs, or contact their customers about changes that could negatively affect their clients. This has been a hardship on us because our data is accessed primarily in the Spring/Summer/Fall and on the weekends.
