First time trying Modmarket today, and unfortunately it will be our last. Just nothing stands out that would bring us back, except for breakfast maybe but after this trip that is not likely. Nice staff and pretty clean restaurant but when my wife returned from the only one bathroom she said it was disgusting. There were plenty of help around and you would think that if you have one bathroom you need to keep it clean. I've hear you can tell a lot about a place by visiting the restrooms. We had breakfast here and really enjoyed it. The portion sizes were sensible (ie smaller than average) which didn't leave you feeling bloated. The menu items were all made with healthy ingredients (nitrate free bacon, cage free eggs etc). It was also nice to see gluten free bread. I wouldn't be surprised if someone got sick from Mod Market in Highlands Ranch tonight. I am very understanding when a restaurant gets backed up with online orders, however, it is unacceptable when food is on the counter for 40+ minutes and then added to someone's meal that they expect to be fresh when they pick it up. The long line of customers waiting for their online orders didn't come close to the longer line of half made meals lined up next to each other on the counter. While I had ordered a sandwich that should take a few minutes to make, I would have still understood if it took up to 20 to be ready. But when I saw an employee using the same knife to cut fresh steak and then leave the steak sitting out for the 30 mins I was there, it was enough to make me walk out. There was only one employee actually making food, while the other four were prepping the plates and letting the food sit out uncovered. Don't even get me started on the cleanliness of the kitchen... if the customer can see the kitchen as least pick up the food off of the floor. And while I don't usually notice if people wear a mask or not, the main employee cooking the food was not. Weird aren't they required? I wonder if Steve who had been waiting for 65 minutes has gotten his order yet. read more

So healthy and delicious... Their menu has a lot of great choices salads, soups, flat bread pizza, sandwiches, and home style plates. They also have vino at $2 a glass yes please. Lots of choices and great flavor. Tip...on the receipt they give you 10 days to come back and enjoy 10% off your bill. But bring the receipt with you. My wife and her parents walked almost a Mike fur this place and it was worth it. This place has fresh ingredients, which translate to fresh flavors. My mother in law and my wife had awesome salads while I had the salmon club. The salmon was good and fully cooked. I was disappointed that there was no bacon in it even though bacon was mentioned on the menu. I wish there was more of these types of restaurants in Chicago. read more

Love Modmarket and I probably come to this new location once a week now. It's close to my work and has some healthy and fresh options. I love how you can get a pizza but still have it be healthy. The boylands soda is a nice additional as well vs the normal mass market Coke stuff. read more

The first several times I ate at ModMarket, I had a salad & pizza. It was good & I was definitely a regular. Breakfast, though. Oh, breakfast is where ModMarket shines. I regret those many months of missed breakfast opportunities! I think back to the times I went to IHOP or Toast or ... chick fil a!... with regret. I could have been at ModMarket! I have no idea how they can cram so much delicious, filling, farm fresh food on one plate & for so few calories! I love the nutrition facts on the receipt, love the earth friendly boxed water, the Izzy (more flavors, please ModMarket!), the fresh ingredients, and leaving satisfied & remaining satisfied for longer than an hour. Highly recommend the egg, bacon, potatoes & toast at breakfast & the Santa Fe salad for lunch or dinner. The only "eh" thing I've eaten here was the mashed sweet potatoes. I also like their Pepe Pizza- however i asked them to add basil and was charged .95 and the pieces of basil were so little - it was probably one leaf chopped up for .95. not happy about that. This is the ?? time my order has been wrong when ordering to go. This time, on Mother's Day I asked that my husband order me a salad with pork on it - note its an extra $4 for the meat - and I received my salad without pork. If you try to call to tell them and try to get refunded you get directed to a BS automated system where you leave a message - you can't even call the restaurant directly. So you don't really care about your customers is what that tells me. This eatery is a typical example of an effort to mark up mediocre-tasting food by giving it a fancy name. Add in a dirty, unattractive dining area and you are left with little reason to return. The area where customers are supposed to return their silverware, glasses and plates is filthy. There is a container that customers put their glasses in after eating. Every time we went there, the container was filled with a mixture of different liquids, covered by floating pieces of food. The trick is to put a glass into the container without splashing the gross liquid on yourself. When you are sitting at a table, look closely at the groves on top, close to where the legs attach. You see months, maybe years of accumulated food and other stuff caked into the grooves. If the sunlight hits the restaurant in the afternoon, tilt your head at an angle to see that the tables haven't been properly cleaned, but look like that have been lazily wiped with a dirty rag. All of the these things could be quickly remedied by the staff members. The chairs are anything but comfortable. Over time the plastic has warped and legs have become uneven. Why not simply replace them? The pizza is tasty, but that doesn't make up for everything that is wrong. I will not be returning to this place. read more

I just had the worst experience with one of your employees today. My husband and I went in to place a to go order and asked the cashier for help with the app. She was nothing short of rude and annoyed by my question. She was soo frustrated and walked off to ask another employee for assistance. I could see her talking to the other employee waving her arms around and moving her head and it was obvious she was talking bad about me! When she returned I kindly told her that I would like to cancel my order as she was very rude about the situation. My husband and I left in shock as to the length of her behavior. I've been stopping in to Mod Market frequently lately while re-habbing with a broken leg and on crutches. The cashiers and bussers have been very kind with helping me get my tray and beverages to a table. I've had the Salmon Caesar Salad, SuperDuperFood Salad, Margherita Pizza, Pulled Pork Banh Mi sandwich (has a kick and served with a unique cabbage slaw) and a Salmon Homestyle plate that included garlic mashed potatoes and a fresh greens salad. Everything was delicious; you can tell the ingredients are fresh and the salad ingredients are top-shelf. The salmon is cooked just right without being dried out. I consider myself a regular now and will keep visiting as the location is so close by where I run all my usual errands (library, Home Depot, grocery stores, etc.). Can't beat a $2.00 glass of House wine, and the $5.00 Malbec pairs great with pizza! Two thumbs up! read more

The food is delicious! But, if you go when they are busy, expect a salad that is significantly smaller than usual, quickly tossed together, and missing AT LEAST one ingredient. I will never return to Modern Market in Highlands Ranch as they have stopped allowing you to order online, and to pay cash when you pick up your order. Not everybody uses a credit card, and they give you no other option for payment. You can't pay in advance or have some type of tab, kind of like a "pay in advance" type option. Either way, you're allowed to go in, still pay at the register, and sit and wait. Even if you have been a loyal customer since they opened. I've always loved the Farmers Salad, but I wouldn't recommend the sandwiches because their prices go up, but the portions decrease. The bread is generally extremely hard. It's ridiculous, actually. Take a look at the hot food that's been sitting there all day in this location specifically. I can't speak for other locations. The company that takes the orders is very terse, so don't expect much from them either. They make mistakes, and apparently they get in trouble when they do. There is no way to contact the store directly, even if they know you. Farewell, ModMarket. I suppose this is a good thing, as your food truly isn't worth the money, and trust me - I am not cheap when it comes to food! All I asked for was a return call from the supervisor at the store. I couldn't even get that. I'd rather go to Del Friscos, and spend money there! At least they care deeply about their clientele.... their service, and their food. Mod Market does not. Beware. Don't go. There are other places that have better food, nice people who answer the phone, and believe in loyal customers. If I could give them a negative rating, I would. I can make my own version of the Farmers Salad, I have and I will... and I promise you it is much better! I anticipate they will lose business over this mandated change of credit card payments only. They've now lost 5 people in my household alone. I will be spreading the word about the quality of food, which hasn't been worthy for quite some time, the terse people I had to deal with today, and as a former business owner, my rule was to ALWAYS make things right. No matter what. The fact that nobody called back from the store, I'm talking about the people who actually KNOW me is disheartening, to say the least. I've never told on the company that takes orders when they've screwed up my order. Not once. Things happen! But to be dismissed as I was today, in the middle of the day when the store is not busy (and constantly being told by the supervisor that my request for a return call was "escalated...") and almost 3 hours later, nothing... ModMarket does not care about your business. At all. Trust me. The quality of food and portions have gone down hill. It is absolutely not worth it. I was their number one fan when they opened. I don't care what the food costs, I just loved their Farmers Salad. Now, they've decreased the amount of lettuce, which kind of defeats the purpose of ordering a salad! Or they forget to put the almonds, corn, etc. on the salad. But I always give them another chance. I know. Stupid. It's been a downhill slide at the Highlands Ranch location for some time. They do not care about you. I guarantee it. I'm sorry to be so negative, but seriously. It is that bad. Save yourself some money, prepare your food at home, or enjoy a good dinner elsewhere, as you can avoid the frustration of the terse people and the food which is not what it used to be. Warm lettuce and hard chicken isn't tasty, yet still, I always have them another chance because they knew me. I knew them. However, after speaking to several people who used to go regularly, I am not the only one that feels this way. There are many people who have found the food to be declining, the portions to also be pathetic, and the prices to be high for what you get. Thank you to the company who has been hired to take orders over the phone for being terse. I will do my best to tell everybody I know about my experiences, mainly so they don't waste their time or money. Thankfully, we have more restaurants opening in the Highlands Ranch area now, and as I said, I will not return because nobody cared enough to return my call. My salad was going to take a few extra minutes and they came out to tell me and offered my a free soup. You just don't get service like this in this big box places. Well done to the staff! We're getting our kitchen remodeled and dieting at the same time so we decided to try this place. We were so impressed the first time we ate here. Everything is reasonably priced and the calorie count is listed on the menu. I had the BBQ chicken pizza. It's kind of spicy but so good. My husband got the blt and I swear they put crack on that bacon! We went back today but to pick up an order. I'm frazzled from a long day and don't even look at the receipt when I pick up the food and get home and realize I picked up the wrong order! My husband called and they remade our meal AND comped it! It was all my fault so I tried to pay for the food and they wouldn't let me. I totally owe them some business but that won't be difficult because everything I've eaten there is so tasty! I was lucky enough to get a ticket to eat Modmarket for their soft opening. So my food & my husband's was indeed free while they were training their staff. But I honestly loved it and would have if we had paid. The salad I had was delicious. The size was extremely generous (the full) and we could have split one probably. The only thing that was off was we both had the same salad and mine came with advocado and his did not. So we are not sure which one was in error, probably his. But to be fair, they were training so things like that will happen. Everything else was great and we will be back. So glad to have a Modmarket in Highlands Ranch! read more

I will start by saying I eat at Modmarket daily since discovering it on a happy, happy day in June '14. Sometimes twice a day. That's how much I love it. The #1 reason is how fresh the food is. I won't even try a superlative: just come in and try for yourself. Their ingredients rival what you get at fine restaurants and home cooking. They're in a different league than any other quick food chain. The veggies are crisp and juicy, the meats are succulent, the sauces vibrant. Other places have well-designed salads and recipes, but you can just *taste* how far those trucks traveled to deliver frozen ingredients to your plate, and the result is just "meh." But not at Modmarket: it doesn't taste like "restaurant food." #2 is how healthy it is, on a macronutrient basis. I'm eating very clean and training hard, which restricts my food options. But again, MM to the rescue. I have never seen an eatery with so many fit and sports-oriented customers. #3 is how tasteful the menu and recipes are. YUM! So with all that said, here are some tips on the menu and some minor drawbacks I've seen: 1. My favorite dish is the steak plate, with sides of arugula salad and smashed red potatoes. Both sides are delicious. I don't like their other sides much: the jicama lime slaw is ok, the sweet potato mash a bit bland, and I don't like the garlic peas at all (despite liking garlic and peas, heh). I wish we could do "half sides" since I always throw away half the potatoes (too many carbs), but they don't allow that. 2. Favorite salad is the Flatirons (comes with steak). To me, it's just perfect, nothing to add or remove. The Fiesta is a close second, and the Salmon Nicoise and Thai Coconut are great as well. I like all the others, except for the Caesar, which I think compares unfavorably to other Caesar salads. 3. Favorite sandwich is Basil Chicken, followed by the Salmon club. Chipotle steak is excellent also, on the spicy side. I find their bread a bit dry sometimes, but still like the sandwiches a ton. 4. For breakfast, the Rocket Egg sandwich is delicious, love it. The Spinach Bacon Scramble is scrumptious, and their bacon in general is awesome. Haven't tried the waffles. I rarely eat their breakfast though since the dishes are higher in fat or carbs than I can have at the moment. I wish they'd have a couple of breakfast items targeting those on stricter diets. 5. You can add a side of chicken to any order for about $2. This is a nice way to get some clean protein. You can also do half salad + half sandwich to mix things up. 6. They are growing fast and little mistakes happen. I've had: missing Au jus cup in my steak plate, missing gorgonzola in the Flatiron salad, and a couple of small ordering mistakes. 4 mistakes in 60+ orders. Every time they corrected the problem promptly and courteously. 7. I don't like their breakfast orange juice, it's not squeezed fresh and it's worse than premium bottled brands. The drip coffee is pretty good, I prefer our home coffee but no complaints. I've sipped the sodas, which use cane sugar instead of HFS, and they taste great! Also stole bites from my kids' chocolate chip cookies, and those are good also. I wish I could have them :) 8. They print nutritional info for your orders directly on the receipt, which is very helpful. However, added / removed items are not reflected in the nutritional figures, which is a bummer. I hope they fix that in time. 9. Receipts are also 10% off coupons valid for one week, so if you eat here at least weekly, you're getting a permanent 10% discount. Sometimes, randomly, the receipts have a free dinner or other larger coupon attached. Nice touch. 10. Customers are supposed to clean up after themselves when finished. The end result is you often see tables that are not that clean. This never bothered me, but many don't like it and it's a valid complaint. They need to pay more attention to that. I haven't tried the pizzas yet, but folks eating them look pretty happy. I'll have one in a month or two. Bottom line for me: factoring in speed, price, health and taste, Modmarket is the best restaurant I've ever been to. read more

The food was great. Especially the pizza. I love the fun sodas too. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the lack of napkins (kinda strange I know) and lack of table visits. Overpriced, poor quantities, my daughter got sick after eating here tonight. Have been to a different ModMarket before and felt that the quality was okay but still too pricey for what you get. My wife ordered a gluten-free pizza and paid $4.00 for two small pieces of prosciutto added to her pizza. Laughable. I decided to give them another try tonight but not planning on going back. My advice is to go elsewhere, save a few bucks, and get just as good quality of food but more of it. read more
