I'm new to the area and was searching for a nail salon. I came in with no appointment and asked for an acrylic overlay with gel and a regular pedicure. The lady that greeted me rolled her eyes that I was asking for that (like it was an inconvenience) I waited 30minutes to be seen, which is expected because I didn't have an appointment. I wouldn't care but there was 2 other associates playing on their phones until 20 minutes after I was seen.. . The girl who finally called me over, again asked what I wanted and continued to try to talk me into other services (so bad like she was going to be disciplined for not cross selling) The WHOLE TIME I GOT MY SERVICES, ALL OF THE WORKERS WERE SNICKERING AND GOSSIPING IN THEIR NATIVE LANGUAGE!! I could tell, all of us English speaking clients were uncomfortable!! my pedicure did not even come with a 1 minute scrub or softener to get the dead skin off (not even the generic cuticle remover) I'm never coming back!!! I went and got acrylics done for $80 and they were beautiful did a great job there and I left a nice tip on top of the charge already. I went back today because I had to get them off for work, I had already trimmed them down they were Stubbs and just needed to be taken off without damaging my nails further. I asked for them to be taken off, was not told a price before hand, and I sit down while the guy rips my nails off with a separate nail. It hurt. I said ow numerous times and he told me to just hang on. He proceeded to rip off all my nails, and then I washed my hands. Whole thing didn't even take 5 minutes. I assume it's going to be maybe $5 so I stop at the receptionist and she says it'll be $20. I ask what I am paying $20 for he just ripped off my nails. And she said that's the charge for acrylic removal I paid $20 for a guy to rip off my acrylics and damage my nails more than the acrylics already do. I called when I got home because I am still upset about it and I explain what happened and the receptionist again said, that is just what we charge. For what?? Not even 5 minutes and one extra nail for him to hurt my hands? I told her I could've done that myself. Not even an apology or any sort of trying to help just a that's what we charge. My wife my mother in law and myself went here to get manicures and Pedicures because were going on a cruise the next day. This was on Friday (September 16 2022@ 10am) The very next day Saturday (September 17th 2022) her nail polish chipped off on two fingers and one toe. Also The ladies who were doing my hands and feet both started talking in there native language like I wasn't there the whole time of my service making me very uncomfortable. I feel that was extremely inappropriate and unprofessional. I put a deposit down for my pedicure of 10$ and they lady wrote my receipt for 35$ and I asked what about my deposit and she said it was added in which it wasn't or I would've paid 25$. We're new to the area. I was reluctant to try his salon because i had the worst experience at the Cherry Valley location but I'm pleasantly surprised with the service I received. My husband and I both got modern collagen pedicures. They were priced at $45. Lisa and Ava where our technicians and both were super sweet. I wouldn't say it was the best pedicure I've ever had but it was good enough and I would go there again. My feet feel relaxed. After painting my nails he filed them; if you file the nails after painting them the seal becomes broken at the tip of the nail and the gel becomes easily peeled! Second time I was talked into "gel x" which is quite pricey but I thought, they said it looks natural and seems promising... two nails popped off within 6 hours while I was simply folding my toddlers laundry. Waste of $60+ because I of course was leaving on vacation the next day so couldn't get it fixed and effortlessly removed each one because of how embarrassing they looked. I should have addressed this when it happened... my husband paid for myself and a friend to get a mani and pedi done for Mother's Day. This is the first pedi I've had since covid, so I was pretty excited. I am a firm believer that the mask wearing should be CHOICE to wear or not to wear. I am a healthy individual, showing no signs of sickness and if I was I am smart enough to not go to the nail salon. Anyways, my friend and I sign in, both of us not wearing masks, none of the employees say anything to us, sit down for a pedi, the technicians start our treatments and once they start THEN they ask us to put masks on. I would normally put up a fight because again I believe this is a personal CHOICE, but I wanted to treat myself and my friend so I comply. Soon after my technician starts, she PULLS DOWN HER MASK TO **COUGH** several times with ZERO coverage with her hand/inner part of her arm!! Covid or no covid, that's disgusting and so unhygienic!! I sat there in disbelief. My technician did a subpar job for $85 when it came to my pedi , sloppy, gel nail Polish all over my skin around my nails. I paid $150 between myself and my friend. I definitely will NOT recommend this place due to their unhygienic staff, giving their customers zero choice when it comes to their freedoms, especially once their treatment has already been started. This was my first time here and I was hesitant because of the reviews. I called and was required to pay a $10 deposit which is the only reason it is not 5 stars. I found that process highly unnecessary and I don't like if you use your debit or credit you have to pay a $2.00 fee. However I was greeted upon arrival for my appointment at 1 pm. I was put in a chair by 1:05 and a woman started my pedicure after an appropriate soaking period. She did a thorough job with good massage techniques and attention to detail. She didn't speak much and didn't seem to have as much of a command of English as the other people but I was comfortable just enjoying watching the two tv options and relaxing. I have given so many chances to your salon. $50-$55 for dip powder on natural nails (not including tip) and it comes off of multiple nails either one to two days after. EVERYTIME! When they claim it last at least two weeks. Also, let's not get started on the fact that multiple technicians at your salon have CUT the skin around my fingers nearly every time I have come in as well. Expensive prices, low quality work and they're aggressive with care of nails. My advice is is to go anywhere but here. They'll have higher quality products for lower prices. read more

I would give this place zero stars if I could. I am writing this review merely to warn others to spare themselves before coming here. I unfortunately, ignored the numerous bad yelp reviews and wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, so it is my fault for coming here. If you are someone who likes to/ needs to schedule out their appointments I would not recommend coming here. I booked an appointment for 11 o'clock and they called me 10 minutes before my appt informing me that they were running behind and needed to push my appt to 12 o'clock. I said ok as there was nothing I could do. Once I showed up to my new appt time they informed me that I did not have an appt booked. I showed them numerous confirmation texts that I revived. This wasn't sufficient enough for them, and asked to see the phone call records and the bank statement of the deposit I already paid. They could not find my deposit and I waited over 20 minutes for them to sort out finding my deposit even though I had already shown them proof via my bank statement. Then the best solution they could offer me was to wait an additional 10 minutes (it was already 20 min past my 2nd appt time) and then pay an extra $10 deposit even though I had already paid one and had records to prove it. I hope this helps someone so that they are not put in the same situation that I was put in. read more

They purchased this business from Hawaii Nails. I had a give card from previous owner for $50.00. They do not honor there gift cards. I was told they only honor them for the first month. I decided to try out Modern nails to get a feel for this place since there is one opening up in the new Calimesa Marketplace, which is down the street from my new home. Man was it a mistake, it took me a while to decide to write this but how can we improve if we don't address the issues at hand. My nail tech was Tommy, as soon as I was seated I was treated like I was not worth the time. He barely spent his time on the basic fundamentals of a manicure, rushed through, cut me a few times and didn't even size the acrylics right! All for $42! Don't want to diminish the reputation of this place over 1 persons actions but my aunt who was with me felt like she was swindled. She paid $88 for a deluxe pedicure and gel manicure? Prices are not posted correctly, the books they have show different prices across not sure if nail techs charge different prices? I gave them 2 stars just because they did follow the safety guidelines for COVID19. All in all I'm just going to stick to my nail place in Highland I'll trek the 25min drive for great customer service over having to experience this ever again. read more
