This place is absolutely gorgeous. It gives me spa type vibes. My nail technicians were absolutely amazing. The Modern Volcano pedicure was an absolute dream. I don't live in the area, so I came with my best friend due to a desperate need of TLC before going out. This place did that for me, BUT it is on the pricier side. I'd like to see a place like this offer facials and things of that nature! I just wanted to do more! I'm really not sure how much extra the gel is with the $60 pedicure, and I don't know how much the dip powder nail is here. But my bill came out to $128. Truthfully, it's not that much more than what I pay at my other place. Maybe about $20 more? And to be fair, I received a VERY extensive pedicure that isn't offered at my home shop. There are two modern nail salons that I am aware of in Calimesa. Both are good in my opinion. I Stared coming to this nail spa when it opened last year I think 7-8 months ago. I try to come every 6-8 weeks. The spa is clean and modern. :). Price I believe is fair for service provided. I have had different nail technician's and all of them have been friendly and professional. My wife, sons and oldest fiancé also come to this spa and have nothing but positive things to say. In case you forget to bring cash for the tip they have an atm. The chairs are comfortable and I enjoy the many massage features the chair has. Many large screen tv's and music playing is relaxing. Would like to see more men in this spa maybe a mens day with sports on the tv's :) read more

This place is TERRIBLE !!!! They try to up sell you when you try to get a simple fill as they tell you, you need a new set because they don't want to clip the old product back before applying new product, they just glue it down, then barley apply a thin coat of product not Evan over lapping the old on the new part of the nail .. so then it lifts within a week as the glue gives out. So when trying to explain this to the manager, she threw me under the bus to make herself look good & then when I came in to show them what happened & called them out on their Buisness practices.. especially after I told them I have my license for nails so then of course they didn't want me in their place of Buisness, because they knew that I knew they we not following. State guidelines & that most are not Evan licensed at all !!!! read more

I really enjoyed my last 2 experiences here, and will continue to go back. I always schedule an appointment and am seen right away, never a wait. Salon is beautiful and clean. They said they do accept walk ins, but rarely, just based on appointment schedules and available staff - so do keep that in mind. They do also require a $10 deposit per appointment, which is different than most shops, but it goes towards your service so no big. I wasn't charged the $2 for my card the first time; but was charged my second visit. I'll try to remember to bring cash in the future. My only hiccup is cost, they are quite pricey. But also probably the best quality I've gotten at a nail salon, and never have any chipping/lifting, so willing to pay for it. Definitely give them a try! read more

Went here today for my first time - $45 for basic dip which is cheaper then what I was paying in Rancho! Kristin did my nails and she took her time, she did a great job. Salon is very nice and clean. Awful first time customer experience. Looks are deceiving from the outside. I walked in at 10:30 without an appt to see if there was an available appt for a pedi/mani, and they turned me away saying I need an appt. I made an appt for 4:00pm that same day and they took a $20 deposit. I arrived 10 minutes early and I waited 30 minutes before I asked for my $20 deposit back. Modern nails has bunch of rules they want customers to follow but are not willing to be a respectful business and have the same expectations for themselves. I really want to like this place. It's close to my house and has big selection of polishes. However, every time I go here, my nails feel very thin afterwards. The nail techs insist on using electric file to remove gel polish and always overdo it ruining my natural nail. I've requested them to use regular file to remove gel and they get irritated. I gave this place another try and the gel is already chipping 3 days later. It's also annoying to book appt here with their fee and can't schedule online. I'm hoping my nails aren't ruined from overfiling. They feel very thin like they are going to break. read more

I never had an issue here before, but today I asked for a certain narrow oval shape and you would have thought I asked for a whole new set or criticized her work. Vivi was aggressive with my hands after. All I did was ask, so I didn't understand why she was so upset and aggressive with me. Not a thank you, she flung my receipt at me and walked away. For the treatment and principle I will never be back to this establishment. I manage a business and know what customer service should be and this was not it. I felt so uncomfortable in that chair. The nail tech next to her kept looking over at me as well. Then as I turned the corner to pay Vivi was at the front reception area whispering in the receptionist ear. I can be almost positive that was about me. I don't get this treatment for asking a question.Do better and be better. They did give me a discount that I did not ask for, but I'd prefer an apology. First and last time I will go here. Beautiful venue but low quality service. I only got an eyebrow wax. It was $15 + $2 extra because they didn't have change and I needed to use my debit card. The wax was so subpar I might need to redo it. There is no shape to my brows whatsoever. I'm so disappointed. The second star was because the place was very pretty and the receptionist was nice but that's it. I don't even want to attempt to get my nails done here. FYI prices go up five $5 in 2023 and there'll be a .50 extra surcharge for using your card. At least for the eyebrow portion, definitely not worth it in my opinion. read more

Well... I didn't realize being tall for a 6-year-old was a Punishable offense. If your child is over 4ft tall, they are charged as adults for a manicure or pedicure. This is absurd since your average six-year-old takes a fourth of the time. I was disappointed in this discriminatory practice, especially regarding children. read more

When i called i informed the secretary that I would like a mani and a pedi, the secretary informed me that would be fine. I sit down get my pedi done then asked about my mani right when the pedi was almost done and all the sudden the secretary informed me that the mani was not able to be done, mind you i called ahead and informed them they said come right in. Had i know it was only going to be one or the other i would have gladly gotten my mani instead. Very unprofessional. Very, very disappointed in my pedicure. I went in as a walk in and waited less than 10 minutes. As soon as I was seated, my technician came and I requested she add acrylic on my right big toe because the nail had broke and I wanted the length to match my left big toe. She made some fuss but said ok. I noticed that she kept cutting down my left big toe to match my right and that's NOT what I wanted. She began to paint my nails and I stopped her right away asking why she isn't adding acrylic and she called 3 different people over. I kept asking for acrylic and they tried to put a fake nail/tip on it and I said, no. I want acrylic as the fake tip would easily break off. My original nail tech was angry and you could tell as she didn't do my pedicure as good. I paid for an extra foot massage and I DIDNT GET IT. The outcome of my pedicure was just UGLY!!! Looks like a toddler did my pedicure. I'm super disappointed. I'm 9 months pregnant and will be going having my baby on Wednesday. I am just annoyed that I made the initial request at the start of my pedicure and it was not done. Then paying $67 for this was such a huge disappointment. Ugh! read more

I visited this establishment in hopes that they take walk ins. Hopeful, yes. But wasn't demanding to be seen. I am all about first impressions. The blonde lady with bad eyebrows who "greeted" me was rude and had an immediate attitude. I said a friendly "hello" and her response was "HOW CAN I HELP YOU?" As if I just put a dent in her day. So I proceeded to ask if they had time for a fill and toe polish change. As she rolled her eyes she says she only has an opening at 3:30pm. I respectfully declined as it didn't work with my day's schedule. Let's just say, I tried to go to a new place and regret it. I will NOT be back, all due to the first impression given to me. I am a regular customer here and the service and experience is consistently 5 star. The shop is beautiful inside and always sparkling clean. I think the prices are fair. My gel manicure lasts me my two weeks and then some which makes me very happy. All the employees are kind, courteous and good at their job. Always recommending to my friends in the area. read more

I felt a really bad vibe from her and i wouldn't recommend a place like this to anyone! So a little bit about my experience there, I booked an appointment when I was pregnant and I wanted a full set and pedicure, I remember when I walked in the lady in the front desk told me they couldn't see me without an appointment and they were "booked" so I told her okay I'll book an appointment, she got a phone call and told me to give her a second as she was on the phone a technician came up to me and asked me what I needed I told her that I needed a pedi and full set, and she said we can do that today and she told me to follow her and she got started on my pedi. As soon as the front desk lady was done the phone call she followed us to the back and she was upset that she had already started on my pedi. She told her there were other people coming in for there booked appointments she then told her it was okay and there was time for me but she kept delegating with her right in front of me. I went there to get a mani/ pedi. For the amount of money I paid for the service, I feel like they rushed their work especially the manicure. I hate it when you don't get the service you deserve. It's already expensive enough to begin with, at least take your time to do your job well so a customer leaves happy. It was a total disappointment. The salon is nice, looks classy but the service is bad. My nails is not clean yet, all powdery and the technician already putting the nail polish. BAD EXPERIENCE DONT GO, me and my daughter wanted a girls day out we went here and we're completely UNSATISFIED first of all they made my nails ugly uneven and bumpy they didn't last too long either . they didn't let me my daughter pick more then one color, they were rude they were speaking in another language they were laughing we don't have proof but it was still rude because we don't understand them, they were rushing also they were very rough with our delicate toes, and it was so expensive for there bad service it was 160$ for the manicures and peddies; I don't mind the price if they deserved it and did a good job however that's not the situation. also I never seen something this bad they truly need do to do BETTER. read more
