Monina is very patient, kind and knows how to listen. She was already booked for my wedding but went out of her way to try to find someone with a similar style for me. Because of her kindness, I told myself I had to remember to try her for other occasions so I did. I was really impressed by how she did my hair at the trial run. Most stylists have a hard time curling my hair or other, but she knew the right tricks to give it texture and volume. I have never seen so much texture in my hair and I didn't realize it until after but she spent a few hours giving me different hairstyles. I was enjoying it too much and didn't realize I had taken up so much of her time. Sorry about that! She is pretty good at makeup too and preps with moisturizer, etc. That's the proper way to do it. Some mua's don't do that. The makeup was smooth and didn't cake. It was nice but I am still so much more impressed by her hair skills. :-) read more

I'm very selective about this type of thing. I have pledged my allegiance to only two waxers before LG. one: Helen in Cupertino (my review for her is somewhere on yelp) and Mickey, in Santa Barbara (I move more than the average person). I was not hopeful I would find someone comparable in San Jose, but I did. Actually, she's even better -- or shall I say she's the best of both Helen and Mickey. Helen used hard wax, but she was expensive. Mickey may or may not have used hard wax, but she was very affordable. LG uses hard wax and she is affordable. I highly recommend her, obviously. read more

I found limor on yelp becuase my waxer left and was hesitant at first because their my eyebrows lol but BEST CHOICE ever seriously she's the best she makes you feel so comfortable that you forget your getting waxed I love the blue wax that she uses it doesn't hurt. And she can tell immediately what your brow shape is I like mine thick and she totally delivered! I'm basically going to be driving three hours once a month to get my brows done by her, she's great! She was so fast and made it way less painful than I had thought and imagined. (I've read so many horrible and painful stories and even watched videos off Youtube). She gave me warnings when it came to the part that usually hurts the most (you know where I mean ladies). I felt so nervous and really thought about canceling my appointment but I'm glad I went through with it. FINALLY!!! A good waxer in the Bay Area! You don't know what I've been through, you really can't understand. From a gross disgusting place that used a ROLL-ON wax stick (WTF???) that gets put right back in the warmer for the next person's vagina (I know, I know...I should NOT have allowed this to happen, but she spoke no English and I was flustered), to chains that whip you in and out in 10 minutes leaving giant patches of hair and selling you useless maintenance products... But back to LG: this is it. Fast - but not TOO fast - and THOROUGH. She uses the time while the wax is solidifying to get the strays with tweezers, and a month later I'm still smooth, with just fine regrowth and no ingrown hairs. Yay!!! read more

I bought a Livingsocial deal for First Time Brazilian here. It had been a while since my last wax, and so there was a lot of growth for her to work with. I made an appt online (super easy) and was able to see Limor pretty quickly. She's super personable and talks you through the entire process, taking the time to explain hair growth and the difference between soft wax (needs cloth strips to tear away) vs hard wax (the wax itself tears away, no strips needed). Limor uses hard wax. The process is really clean and fast. I'm knocking down two stars because for one part of my bikini line, Limor used wax on the same spot TWICE. This caused severe skin irritation. I wasn't looking when she did it, but I'm guessing it's because she didn't remove all the hair with the first go-around. Also knocking down stars because I could tell there were some hair roots and ingrown hairs still there, which she failed to remove/release. read more
