Update: they reached out once, left a voicemail and then never called me back even after I attempted to call them. They clearly have no intention of helping the situation. My partner and I had a unique situation of wanting to trade a vehicle we owed on with negative equity. We live over two hours away and I explained this to one of customer representatives. She assured me that there would be no problem financing one of their vehicles even with this. Upon driving there and speaking to a different representative, this became the roadblock that prevented us from getting a vehicle from them. Apparently their over the phone word does not mean much. TLDR: If you have anything that could potentially be a roadblock, save your time and go somewhere else. read more

Modesto Mazda Service Department helped us troubleshoot electrical on a complete rebuild of the hvac after rodent intrusion.....we were stumped when after putting everything back together it seemed like the engine immobilizer was cutting ignition. Towed our CX9 in, and left it for them to look at. The following day, the service tech texted me a video identifying one disconnect that we would never have found on our own. (a locksmith and 2 other repair shops didn't catch it either) So many good people working here, some helped me push my car off the trailer (it was a 4 man job) Malachi was so friendly at the service desk. They got right down to the issue and didn't try to add on any other services that I didn't need - wow...... I didn't know that there were still dealerships around that treat you like an small community repair shop would - Clean and professional, and yet down to earth - ready to help in the way that you need. What I didn't realize is that I would have to take it in for a nail in the tire on it's two week birthday of me bringing it home. I got a nail in my tire in a spot that was unable to be repaired, and despite having a fully booked schedule, they were able to fit me in and replace the tire and get me on the road again just a few hours later. I decided to go directly to a Mazda dealership, but it seems it would have been better to go to any dealer since they gave me the car dirty. I returned the next day to have it cleaned, and it seems like they just went through a regular carwash and that was it. I got home and started cleaning it. I checked it in detail on the outside and it had several scratches on the trunk and hood. I understand that it is a used car, but in the photos published on your page, those marks were not there. In addition, it was full of cat hair, very horrible on the inside. The worst experience at a Mazda dealership here. The photos on your page were these and the reality was different. read more

Robert was blaming us for a bad social review we never gave a few months back. Malachi will blatantly say he is busy with other customers and schedule us after he is done even though we are going through the issues I am having with the Mazda, maybe Malachi should of helped the other customers before attending to us. We were just standing at the counter waiting since he was on a call. Guess bad review was about a battery too so there must be an issue with the batteries Mazda are using. This review is long overdue. My husband and I went into Mazda the day after new year on a cold rainy weekday. As we walked around outside Casey came out to greet us. He asked us very direct questions about what we were looking for and blew us away with his patience, service and a beautiful 2024 CX50. Fully loaded of course with all the add ons. He made the finance process a breeze, he continued to offer us coffee and even offered if we wanted anything from the gas station as he took our car to get gassed up. He could have just been any other sales rep trying to make commission, but he genuinely helped us look for exactly what we asked for. I even requested a red bow on the car and he made it happen! I had the pleasure of buying my first car at Modesto Mazda yesterday and I cannot say enough good things about my experience. First I arrived earlier in the day to test drive some SUVs I was paired up with JD who was super friendly and made me feel comfortable as I was sharing with him that this was my first big purchase and it was an intimidating process! He assured me that they wanted what was best for me and would never push me to get something I didn't want. I came back later that day with my fiancé to show him the car I was in love with. He agreed it was perfect and we decided we'd like to see if we could get approved for the car, this time working with Abraham. Customer service after the sale is also important. Took my car to the shop, paid online, Malachi (Service Manager) told me as long as i show up before 7pm someone will have my key ready for me. I show up at 6:30 (half hour early) and no one knew a thing about my key. I call Malachi many many times today. Either he is "not in" or in a "training video" or "out to lunch" or "with a customer" (either way, he's not going to talk to me on the phone apparently). The service department doesn't answer the phone, even after 20 rings. I call back to the sales department and they transfer me over. The call is finally picked up. After significant back and forth, i was finally told after much effort that they agree they will NOT put my key in the mail, (I don't want it lost or damaged - keys are EXPENSIVE) but instead will overnight it to me to arrive at my house tomorrow (took me 40 minutes in traffic yesterday [one way] to get to the dealership). It's a lack of attention to detail, and more importantly, attention to customer service (even after the customer has paid) that can negatively impact a business. Not good! read more

I was in the market for a new Mazda 3 hatchback for my daughter. I was given a great price on the car at the Modesto Mazda. When we took the car out for a test drive, Josue the salesman was very polite, professional, and informative. We had a very good experience with the purchase despite us storming out of the place thinking we were going to get a better deal at another dealership (See my Vacaville Mazda review). When we returned to make the purchase, Josue and the sales manager Angel maintained their decorum and happily helped us finalize the sale. Josue was patient and thorough with showing my daughter all the safety features and options the car had. Vance from the finance department was also great. He showed us warranty options to add to the car purchase. Vance was informative and never pushy. We ended up getting the butler (or something) warranty which covers the rims, windshield, paint, and interior. When we brought the car to get the butler service, they left the car looking cherry. I was impressed how well the car looked. Josue arranged for us to have a loaner car while they did the service. I would definitely recommend this dealership to family and friends. Their customer service is top notch. Their vehicle inventory was impressive. The waiting lounge and waiting area was clean, modern, and comfortable. Great experience! Arrived on site pretty much knowing what we wanted, which was to test drive and get deets on new CX-5. Josue helped upon arrival and stayed next to us until the end! He was super helpful and informative! Also BILINGUAL! It was a great experience. I left with a great deal! I've gone in for a service as well and Malachi helped me and was great! The center is gorgeous obviously because it's new but they had a tv (I watched the draft picks) refrigerated water, premium coffee machine, cookies, fruit, charger ports, a vending machine WITH APPLE PAY! Service wasn't done by EOD so they gave me a lender of the new car for the next day. I commute to the bay so that was super nice of them. Abraham operates on dishonesty and unless you are a customer in front of him, he will disregard you. My husband and I went to look at vehicles Saturday during the Memorial weekend. After discussing finances, we were ready to purchase a vehicle Sunday. On Sunday, Abraham sent a pre-approval application link and we filled out immediately. We waited a couple of hours and did not hear back. We drove over to Mazda while being in the area to check in and Abraham said that they are working with the banks and may need to call them the following morning but that he found the vehicle I wanted and was initiating a dealer transfer for the vehicle to arrive Monday (the very next day). Monday morning comes and goes so we call and Abraham says they are slammed but are working in between customers to make this happen for us and he says he will call back with updates. He never calls back so we decided to call again. He says that the finance manager is trying to find us the best financing deal and he will call us in the morning with an update. We received no call. I called and spoke with someone else who passed on the message to call us back. We receive a call back from Tony who said that they didn't even have the car nor was credit run. I explained to him that what he is saying is the opposite of what Abraham is saying. He seems to get frustrated with us and asks what we want to do as if we were holding up the deal. Despite telling the manager the blatant lies from his salesperson, the accountability was not there. My husband and I ended up going to Tracy Mazda where they had my vehicle readily available and were kind, honest, and efficient. I suggest if you choose Modesto Mazda, go with Carmen. She has good communication and follow-through. 1. Just because a customer is not physically there, that does not mean they go on the back burner - still communicate! 2. If you are as short-staffed as you say you are, then say you have not had an opportunity to work on the deal, but when you have a full-staff, you will complete the deal for them. 3. We didn't even buy our Mazda here but I did take a test drive before finding one in the color I liked up in the Bay Area instead. Josue was awesome, helpful and knowledgeable and I didn't feel pressured at all. He even tried to trade some of their inventory for the one I wanted so I wouldn't have to make the drive, but the other dealership declined (see my review for Fremont Mazda ). Fast forward two weeks later, we had to take our new Mazda CX-9 in to Modesto's service department (def wasn't driving to Fremont) thanks to a weird sound, & it turned out to be a few loose bolts, a common Mazda problem. Austin was great, he made a short video for us showing where the noise came from, that he sees it a lot, then he tightened everything & added a sealer to ensure it didn't happen again.
