My wife and I went in last weekend to look at the new CX-5 and we had the best experience that we have EVER had at a car dealership. She needed a new car and Modesto seemed to have a good inventory so we went too see what was available. Our salesman was Joseph Sbragia and he was just the best. He provided us with all the info we wanted and there was zero BS that normally is involved in a new car purchase. No back and forth to the "manager" all the time. No pressure to make decisions. No 4 square nonsense, nothing. Just a very good experience and we ended up driving out with a new 2024 CX-5 that afternoon. Prices also seemed fair including the price for our trade in. Vance Santos the manager who handled the financing and contract signing was also extremely helpful and got us on our way with our new car without much delay even with a small hick-up with the approval process. To be honest, I have not purchased a car from here. However, I do come here for Mazda parts. I live in Contra Costa County & I have look for dealer parts all over the Bay Area, East Bay & all the way down to Tracy. I must say this dealership has the most reasonable price out of all the dealerships. Even though its far from my house, if I need any parts from my Mazda, I always come here. Employees are very nice & polite, and I'm assuming their maintenance service is also reasonably priced. If you're looking to get OEM auto parts, I definitely recommend this place. I would PERSONALLY "suggest" that if anyone is thinking of doing business with Modesto Mazda (Modesto, Calif)....that they DON'T! I took our CX5-GT in for service and also approved that they detail the car. Short story...the car came back with a messed up Infotainment Screen...ruined!....and they deny all liability, essentially said I was a liar...but that they would offer me a "deal" to 'fix it' for about $500 and that $500 included them waiving a $200 labor charge. They absolutely refused to accept liability for damage to the screen. Service manager says that it could have been messed up somewhere else by somebody else (ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE!!!...it was fine when we brought the car in for maintenance). I will consider my legal "options"! HERE'S THE BOTTOM LINE....Whenever anybody takes their Mazda for service or detailing or even a wash...before signing any work/repair order, be sure to have the Service Manager make a note that the Infotainment Screen is not messed up! I couldn't be more disappointed or angry! read more

Most degrading experience in all the years I have been buying cars. I have bought several cars from Modesto Toyota, Modesto Lexus, Mistlin Honda, VW, Modesto Subaru and have a fantastic relationship with them all. This negative review is directly related to one individual, ANGEL CASTRO, the most disrespectful sales manager I have ever encountered. I stopped at Modesto Mazda last week and a guy by the name of Josue really sold me on the Mazda3, and we agreed to get it, and was waiting for the car to arrive. This was a cash deal and he gave me $500 incentive, and I have everything in text from the dealership. I was buying this car for my daughter and I was so excited for her, and she was as well. Car arrived Thursday the 31st, a day early and my daughter notified me. I was at work so I called the dealership and told them to get it ready. I get there and the sales rep said that his manager would not give me the $500 incentive. The manager is one of those guys that sits in an office and thinks he's above speaking with his customers. I asked the rep to have him come out and speak with me. He comes out, no greeting, no handshake, no smile, just someone that seems angry at the world and just miserable. He goes to me, we can't give you the incentive, it was quoted by mistake, the sales rep shouldn't have told you that. I said to him, since this was your guys' mistake, can you honor it? He said, no, I won't give $500 discount. I said, are you really willing to lose this deal and a customer over $500? He said yes, take it or leave it, in the most serious, and mean face. I felt so degraded sitting there, and kept thinking about how happy my daughter was waiting for this car. I said please give a minute to digest this. He gets up, turns around and whisper something to the rep as he walked away. Not a single word of sympathy. I drove down to Subaru, and paid cash for an Impreza that was $1000 more than the Mazda3, but I was treated with dignity and respect like Subaru in Modesto has always treated me. I was in total shock, and was for a few minutes in denial that I had just experienced this. ANGEL CASTRO is the epitome of a degrading experience and should never be customer facing. This was not about $500, this was about principles, respect, and relationship building, all of which ANGEL CASTRO knows nothing about. I will never ever do business with not only Mazda of Modesto, but the entire Central Valley Automotive for tolerating someone like ANGEL CASTRO. I am beyond disgusted. read more

Bought my car 3 years ago and the sales representative was awesome. Never had issues every time I called or went in person. My 2020 Mazda 3 started to say it has an airbag system malfunction so I called to see if they can fix that since it's a serious issue. It is not a wear and tear situation yet they're are charging me $185 just to inspect it since I do not have warranty for it. I know cars are going to fail but an airbag malfunction? I personally think this should be fixed no questions asked without charge. read more

I have a new Mazda CX-30 AWD that I am enjoying very much. I had an unlucky encounter with a nail that gave me a flat tire one Friday night, so I limped home on the spare tire. Saturday morning I called Mazda in Modesto and talked to their service manager Malachi, and I asked him what I should do. He got me right in and I was lucky enough to discover that it was a simple puncture and could be repaired. So they patched the tire, returned my spare to the trunk, and got me on my way on a Saturday morning. This saved the rest of my weekend, as I certainly could not travel on that little spare tire. While I don't usually service my vehicle at the dealer, they had done a small repair for me that was quick and reasonably priced, and my car came back washed and ready to go. So when I needed an oil change, I made a "car date" for myself. I had work to get done and some time to myself, so I was excited to take my car in, throw on headphones and get some uninterrupted time to focus, after which I'd be walking out to a clean car with a fresh oil change, just in time for a weekend trip. When my car was ready 90 minutes later it was clearly still dirty. After the two weeks of rain it had that "film", ya know? While paying I noticed the car and asked "Don't you normally wash the cars as part of service?" and was told "we don't bother when it's raining." (note: it was not raining at that time) Which fine. No worries. So I asked if I could get a voucher or something to have it washed later as that was meant to be included. They called someone and took it back for a quick wash, but neglected 90% of the things they'd cleaned up at my previous service. It had now been over 2 hours and I had another appt, so I went on with my day, but noticed my service interval had been set incorrectly and would have me returning 30% sooner than my service schedule mandates. All good, I fixed it myself. Then noticed that it wasn't a mistake- the service sticker ALSO had me coming in at 5000mi vs the 7,500 outlined by factory service schedules. I called. When asked, the service desk said "yeah, they have a 7,500mi service schedule but we always set them at 5 just to be safe". Sorry, but what hazard is this avoiding? This is clearly a measure to bilk folks who aren't paying attention for extra service appointments. I had been taking to the service desk about another repair (cosmetic) that would cost around $2k, but if I can't trust them with an oil interval, how can I trust them with larger tasks? Then, today, I got definitive proof that they sold my email address (which was required to book the appointment). In all this visit cost me two extra hours and fifteen extra dollars for something I could have gotten done at Valvoline, plus the added cost of the carwash I still needed and the lost trust in the only mazda center in the area. TLDR: I spent time and money going to the dealer instead of a 15 minute oil change explicitly for the carwash and no-hassle experience and got back a dirty car with the wrong service suggestions before my info was sold. read more

I had an appointment for my car this morning because I thought I might have an issue with my alternator. I was also concerned about my brakes because of a warning light that had come on several times. I wanted a diagnostic done to make sure my car was ok. Unfortunately, I didn't get the sales guy's name, but he was so nice. He listened to me as I was explaining everything & he assured me that those things I was seeing were normal & nothing to be concerned about. Terrible experience, my wife and went in on Saturday ready to purchase a vehicle. Her vehicle was appraised and we provided all the information needed to run financing. Their salesman Abraham lied to us multiple times throughout the weekend. First he said they found the vehicle my wife wanted and were initiating a transfer. Second he said they ran financing and were calling the banks. On Monday, Memorial Day he said the vehicle was ours and that on Tuesday the next day our deal would be done. Well we receive a call on Tuesday from the manager asking if we are ready to start the process of purchasing the vehicle. Abraham lied to us and did not initiate anything. The vehicle transfer was not initiated nor had they found the vehicle. Even with the okay to run financing, nothing was initiated. The salesperson lacked communication and honesty. We ended up purchasing from Tracy Mazda, they provided exceptional communication and had the vehicle in stock. We will not be returning to Modesto Mazda. read more

I took my car here for a oil change. They charged me 65.99 because they say they automatically performed regular checks to make sure everything is working properly. I was okay with it, since I was just happy to have a Mazda dealership service in Modesto. I waited for over an hour at the waiting area with no update, when I finally walked up to the guy Malachi at the front desk and asked how much longer he said the car has been ready and he was going to update me that they are washing it but he was busy. I was okay with it, I understand if they are short staff. He than started listing things he said there mechanic said that needed to be done, I said okay until he said " also the mechanic said your AC is not working " I cut him off and tell him that's wrong because my AC was working just fine when I dropped off my car. I got in my car and my AC wasn't working at all, like not working not even on no air blowing period!!. I told Malachi who was the front desk, he drove my car than came back and said the AC isn't working and he's master mechanic said it wasn't working . I told him that is a lie because my AC was working when I dropped it off and it was working when he's mechanics drove it into there service area so someone is lying. Malachi kept telling me that the person who worked in my car was there master mechanic and he's been a mechanic for years and he knows he didn't even touch my AC. He than continue to offer what he apparently thought was a favor to me, is that I pay them an additional $140 for them to run a diagnostic on my AC to see what's wrong. It was that point I lost it, I argued and I made a scene to the point where Malachi called his manager. After allegedly speaking to his manager, Malachi came back and tells me he's manager said they can see what's wrong with my AC and AGAIN, he made us seem like he was doing me a favor. Like it wasn't there fault. Not even 10 minutes of me waiting another gentleman came back and hand me my car keys. He told me that earlier when they were doing regular check on my car , they accidentally unplugged the wire connected to my AC which caused the AC to not work. But the re plugged it back and my AC is working just fine now. He apologized for the mistake. I got my keys and was walking out and I hear Malachi say " Have a good day". Like he wasn't earlier trying to convince me that it wasn't there fault my AC wasn't working and I need to pay $140. Now even though my AC was fixed and I do appreciate the guy who gave me my key apologizing for the mistake and then correcting the mistake. What doesn't sit well with me, is that I had to argue, raised my voice and create a scene for them to agree to check what happened to my AC. If I hadn't created a scene, I would have to pay an additional $140 for them to run a diagnostic on my AC that they caused to not work. Obviously after reading this you know I will never go back to this place. That day was my first and last. Worst service and they came off as money hungry and untrustworthy. read more
