And if you do decide to go and check the car out, bring an auto code reader, you can rent one from Autozone, I bet you'd find a pending code that owners know about but it's illegal to sell the car with an engine light on. My partner and I visited Prestige Auto Sales in Modesto after finding a van online that we were interested in purchasing. The staff allowed us to test drive the vehicle, and we liked it enough to begin the purchase process. During our inspection, we used a code reader and found a pending diagnostic code. When we sat down to review the paperwork, the initial itemized loan breakdown included a $3,999 extended warranty. We declined the warranty, and the salesperson, Thomas, went to prepare revised paperwork. Another employee, Nick, then spoke with us and explained that if we chose not to purchase the warranty, the vehicle would be sold as-is. We were comfortable with that and told him so. We also mentioned the pending code we had found. Nick said he would take a look at the vehicle and then drove it away. After that, Thomas returned and told us they would need to wait for a mechanic shop to open in order to address the pending code and could deliver the vehicle the following day. We explained that we had access to our own mechanics and were willing to purchase the van as-is. Unfortunately, after that conversation, Nick never returned to speak with us, and our subsequent calls were not returned. We left without being able to complete the purchase. My partner had the worst experience here. The people here are all veery much lost and raise the price within minutes. He went and tested drove a work van here. When he went to go do the payment the guy that was helping him there told him the price had gone up 2k and then when he was told the price and reassured that it was the van he test driving. Also he had 2 different people helping him. This establishment is ripping people off and most of these people don't even know it. It's a shame to see that now in these times we still have people that want to ripple people off. They should be a shamed of themselves. And I know it's fraudulent cause the carfax I have is dated the same as the one prestige pulls out of their files...just theirs has multiple reports that my copy is missing. Let alone the one the manufacturer dealer pulls up has the car never passing CA emissions plus a whole damage report that was missing from my report or the one prestige showed me saying the car passed CA emissions. They sold us an optional warranty that was not well explained and they didn't tell us the cost. They shoved papers at us without explaining them and by the time we had reached that, it felt like we were past the point of no return. Our grandson bought a car on 12/19/24 from this dealer. It was advertised as a 2012 Chevy Camaro with only 27,155 miles! The dealer sold the car to him with the understanding this was the original engine & original miles. While cleaning out the car the day he took possession of it (paying cash) he found some paperwork from the previous owner & contacted him. He told him he'd replaced the engine. So the next day 12/20/24 he contacted the dealership requesting a refund & they wouldn't return his calls or respond to him. After driving the car less than 200 miles the engine failed! He's now stuck with a car he can't drive & an engine replacement he can't afford! He paid $22K for this car (his life savings) which once he cleaned it up resold it would be used as a down payment on a house. They told us that we had up to 30 days to bring the car back so they can fix it which we did right away the following week, they took the car with a fake Mechanic, they give us a car back and I went back again to talk to the manager because the car was not working properly and they send the card to Honda this time, when Honda was about to fix the issue. They canceled the order for Honda which I have the prove from Honda that they cancel the order, what they did was took the car back to their mechanic to be able to fix the issue, they only reset the sensor problem they never fix it, when I we to pick up the car I noticed the sensors was still not working properly. I texted the manager to let him know the situation. He said he was going to be able to fix it right away. It's been six months, and my car is still has the same problem, I will not come back to this place again. Test drove it, everything was semi ok, tire sensor was on that they wanted to ignore and the tires where practically gone, not major issues, I still made a cash offer and was basically turned down because I didn't want to purchase their "warranty" for an extra $1,500 and when I was talking to the sales guy, who keep in mind called me and messaged me twice within two hours of letting him know I was on my way to test drive it and make a cash offer, then proceeded to act like he no longer was interested in selling me the truck since I wanted to make an offer, he refused to relay my offer which would of bin a whopping discount of $127usd. Yep $127. And keep in mind I wanted to pay cash. Then the truth came out in a kind of racist way, they sent a sales guy to tell me in Spanish, I speak perfect English tho since I was born and raised in California, and he proceeded to say "they sent me to tell you in Spanish since I speak a little bit of Spanish, that they don't want to sell you the truck without the warranty because that's how they make extra money, they also want to sell it to some one who has to make payments so they can make a little bit more" and this is perfectly fine with me, everyone has the rite to hustle people how they see fit, if they want to squeeze people for as much as they can or play the number game where they hustle and confuse people with the down payment and then jerk them around with monthly payments that don't add up with the interest rate and then some how the down payment disappears in the numbers and at the end of it all customers are left confused and paying twice or more at the end of their loan term for their vehicle... well that's ok I'm not even mad at them for that, what annoyed me was I specifically said I was driving 2hrs to make a cash offer that they didn't want to even consider and to flat out say that they didn't want to sell me the truck, and I'm not joking when I say they said they weren't selling me the truck even at sticker price because I didn't want the extras, well that there is were I have a problem with this dealer ship and their business ethics and sales practices. read more

One of the worst places I've came across for a car. At first I was really excited car was running nice and just about two months later a bunch of issues starting happening. The alternator went out, needed transmission service right away, timing belt needed to get replaced also. Then maybe a month later the rocker arm and serious engine issues started to arise. Replaced everything and then few weeks go by, the oil pump needed to get replaced after breaking down. Now it has a bunch of misfires and the engine is failing. They seem not to want to do anything for you, after "30 days" which is ridiculous. I'm paying a car payment for a car that's just sitting in front of my house now. Now I've had the car barely a year and have put thousands of dollars into it. At this point I should've went to a real car dealership. read more

This is my experience. I can't say what they did is illegal, but it is highly unethical and deceiving. On Sep. 11, I went in to look at a 2021 Mazda6 they had listed for sale at $14,999. Car looked clean inside and out, only a few fixable scratches and scuff marks. The salesman let me take it for a test drive and the car drove well except for a slight noise at higher speeds when the wheels turned. The next morning I took it in for a PPI and the owner of the place I took it to apologized and said he just wanted to be honest, it needs a lot of work. New serpentine belt, 2 new wheel bearings, which is what was causing the noise, new spark plugs, new air filter, the oil pan leaks, AND he thought there could possibly be something wrong with the engine that he wouldn't know for sure until he got in there. But looking at $3000-4000 to fix everything. The car was listed for about that below Carfax value, which gives me no option but to believe the dealership knew about the problems but didn't want to fix them. Which is cool if they would have just been honest about it up front. So right off the bat needs thousands in repairs. And I noticed the dealership raised the price of the car by $1000 overnight. While driving the car with the salesman, he mentioned they offer OPTIONAL warranties, 3 year and 5 year. He said the 3 year is around $1300. I made it clear to him I DO NOT want a warranty. He made it clear warranties are optional. After finding out the car needs that much in repairs, I asked for another $1000 off and he brought it to the manager which said no. I shook his hand and thanked him for his time and left. After doing some research, I found a mechanic that would do the listed repairs for a little cheaper than what I was quoted. I decided to go back to the dealership and said I'd agree to the $14,999. The salesman brought me the out the door price and I noticed an extra $2000 fee hidden in the middle of all the prices. I asked him what that was and he said it's the warranty fee. I said no, I don't want a warranty and to take the $2000 off the price. He looked at me with a bewildered look on his face and stood there for a second before leaving. He sent in the original guy I talked to and said they won't sale the car without the $2000 warranty. It's how they make money. I told him I don't care that's how they make money, I want the price we agreed to and shook hands on before I sat down. He said he could probably ask for $200 to $300 off the warranty but that's all. That's a disrespectful spit in your face offer. I told him and the other salesman that they are liars and shady businessmen. I found another couple on the lot looking at a car and told them what happened to me and to make sure they get a PPI on the car they were looking at and expect an additional $2000 charge. Sure enough they walked right past me thanking me and made it clear they too were lied too and they promptly left the dealership. Of course I'd highly recommend you do no business with this dealership but if you do, you MUST get a PPI and expect the selling price to be $2000 more then what they're asking. If they were at least up front about the work that needs to be done and the warranty charge, that would be one thing. But to hid the charge and hope some sucker doesn't see it hidden among all the other charges is deceitful. So buy there at your own risk. read more

Apparently the finance company said that there was too much money and they couldn't finance it so the only thing that they can do is drop the price And like I said before, don't let them tell you that you have to purchase an extended warranty. I have the proof right now showing when we refinance the car they added a warranty on that went from $1995 to $1000. We told him we didn't want the extended warranty and they took it off. We actually saved $8000 and if it wasn't for the finance company, we would've been upside down big time, don't trust them if they ask you to write a review do it after the paperwork is completed. I would just make sure you don't get ripped off cause they will ask you to do it before hand also double check the paperwork. Sometimes they'll add money instead of subtracting. They wanted to trade it in for another car so I had my friend go to look at the other vehicles. Literally all the cars on the lot were crashed! Pay attention to all the little details. Until I had my oil changed the person changing my oil told me to report them and I tried but I didn't know how. They told me my hood wasn't the original hood. I took a while because I wanted to get all my money back especially due to all the fraud and my time and money they took. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING FROM HERE! Below is how they gave me the car I still wish I would've never gone! The blue part is where they told me they tried to match the paint after the accident. Prestige provided me with the car fax. They acted like they didn't know after my car kept turning off I replaced the battery in a couple months. I still wish I could sue them. Please don't go based off other reviews. Excited to purchase his very first automobile we drove 70 miles to the dealership in his brother's vehicle and traded it in for a 2015 BMW. Unfortunately, 6 days later the check engine light came on and the vehicle needed to be repaired. Luckily for him, "all vehicles sold at that dealership had a 30-day warranty" that's what we were told. NOPE!!! Apparently, that's not the case if you go directly to the BMW Dealership. Whereas quite frankly, I don't trust many auto repair shops, but I was confident (even though more costly) a BMW Dealership address the problem correctly. $1,858.76 later, the vehicle is fixed. I find that Prestige Auto Sale have no integrity with regards to their customers or their vehicles. As a law enforcement officer who worked in the courts, I have seen this too often. I called because I had been interested in one of their cars and had a trade in. I called and asked if they could ball park my car over the phone. I had a 10/10 condition car with under 43k miles. The gentleman cut me off, asked for my vin and told me someone would call me back shortly. No one ever called and I took my business elsewhere and completed what I had set out to do. Where do I begin....So for starters, this dealership had a very good Honda accord 2019, 73,000 miles, two previous accidents, nothing major. However, it was two hours away from where I live. I got contacted by FRANCISCO, keep in mind his name, about the car. I texted him to see if I can test drive the car today, Monday, 5/5/25 at around 10:30am. Remember yall, I lived 2 hours away from this dealership. When I went to go see the car today, at that exact time, IT WAS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. NO HEADS UP SAYING THEY DIDNT HAVE IT. I was very, very upset. And since I currently have a Nissan Altima, I refilled gas before heading to Modesto where the drive to get there ate a fourth of my tank. What's even worse is that the same person, Francisco, was on the phone with another client and he had showed me the keys TO A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT CAR. Stains everywhere, not the exact model, cup holder destroyed, nd it was a high mileage car that he showed me.
