Sales department is fine, but service OMFG! Talk about a nightmare! Showed up for recall work and had an appointment. Sadly, I live out of their drop-off area for the shuttle so I was stuck in the dealership for over 7 hours before finally typing up this review (car still isn't done) the service manager I dealt with was great, but whoever was doing the work. I should have been compensated for wasting my day. There is NOTHING within walking distance and I'm not familiar enough with the area to even attempt to leave to get food. Vending machines are way over priced, and there is a CC surcharge added to everything including the stinking vending machines. I wouldn't recommend this dealer to anyone even if it was the only dealer left on the planet! 4 hours was the recall work time estimate. Took in excess of 7.5 hours! Livid is an understatement. If I ever have to come back to this dealer, I'm going to bring someone else with a car so I am not trapped for the entire day wasting my life away getting nickle and dimed to death. Costco $0.25 bottle of water is $1.60 with the CC fee. I'd give ZERO stars if it was an option!! I am going to give credit where credit is due though. Aaron England checked on the car for us a few dozen times and was very apologetic. Sadly it feels like the management isn't really interested in keeping the service department properly staffed. We bought my car from Modesto Toyota. Hubby got a text about recall work and we came to drop off the car at 10am. There was an initial estimated time of 4-6 hours. We are not sure how far the shuttle goes or how long it would take for sure. We walked for a bit but then came to sit and wait and wait and wait. Hubby went up to check at the 4 hour mark and the person said the original estimated time is 4-6 hours. At the 5 1/2 hour mark, hubby checked with the person that checked us in and he checked with the service people. Another hour! So now it is 7 hours. No updates yet and we are at the 6.5 hour mark. They close at 6pm and if I am here that late, I should get paid for the day. I was looking at another car on the lot but after this, no way no how will I ever be back! Please do better, Modesto Toyota! *Our service advisor Aaron England was very nice and apologetic. This was one of the most unprofessional dealership experiences I've had and I wouldn't recommend wasting your time here. I listed my vehicle on Facebook Marketplace and clearly disclosed that it is currently leased, as I was exploring a lease buyout. I was contacted by someone claiming to be an employee at this Toyota dealership who said they were actively looking for used car inventory and strongly encouraged me to bring my vehicle in for an appraisal. To be cautious, I verified that he actually worked there--he even provided proof of identification. I also made it very clear, multiple times, that my vehicle is leased. Based on that information, I took time out of my day to visit the dealership. When I arrived, I provided the two names I had been given, and they took my car for about 20 minutes to inspect and test drive it. After waiting, I was told they were "not aware" the vehicle was leased and therefore couldn't move forward. At that point, the situation felt not only disorganized but misleading. I had clearly communicated from the beginning that the car was leased, and the person who contacted me had every opportunity to confirm whether this was something the dealership could actually handle before asking me to come in. Instead, I was encouraged to make the trip under false pretenses. It felt like a bait-and-switch tactic to bring customers in, along with a clear misrepresentation of their ability--or willingness--to handle lease buyouts. I understand that not every deal will work out, but being brought in under misleading circumstances and having my time wasted is not acceptable. This reflects a serious lack of communication and professionalism. If you're considering working with this dealership, I strongly recommend confirming every detail upfront--or better yet, save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere. read more

If your looking for honestly, integrity, and reliability than price toyota is NOT the place to come, I purchased two vehicles here ,the 1st car only had 40k miles and ac stopped working followed by the car overheating, instead of toyota taking care of me they pushed me to get another vehicle and tacked on negative equity, although it wasn't to much i still shouldn't have had to deal with thats , now the 2nd car im driving had 35k miles now at 45k. Car was perfectly fine till one day I came out and the battery way dead that had never happend before so I did a bit of investigation and found out toyota put a battery with a crack near the base of the negative terminal in the car, I ended up calling them back asking them to be fair and meet me in the middle due to some time passing but toyota tried to put all the blame on me and calling a cracked battery case common ware and tare. Then, today I was able to meet with him again and talk to him through the whole process from start to finish. Team members do start to finish complete approach to handling customers. You dont go through a drawn out negotiation approach. The car sale is OTD with tax added. Edit: I reached out to them and I'm taking off a star because I had to go to corporate for any sort of help. Kevin just said my shop was deceptive even though it's very reputable and they're the ones showing deception, and then ignored me. I came here after returning a lemon to carmax to buy a used Highlander. I love my car and it's definitely not a lemon which I appreciate. But there were a few cons. My appointment took over 2 hours, which is the longest I've experienced. Also I had my trade-in car valued at 3 places, Lexus (trade-in for used), Kia (trade-in for lease) and Carmax (trade-in for used), and Modesto Toyota gave me the lowest offer of them all. They did raise it a bit but it was still the lowest. It's disappointing because they said they are known for giving great and fair offers, but obviously that wasn't true. I had to accept it though because I drove 2 hours away to get there. They didn't go over the fees with me or let me know the warranty isn't part of the price. I had to learn that later. They just gave me a monthly number in the office which seemed decent. They had plenty of time to go over fees with me. That's not transparency. Finally, I wish they would have done maintenance on the car before selling it so I didn't have to pay another $1k on it right after buying it. But it's a lovely car! read more
