Menu does not indicate level of spice in the food. They should update the menu; properly labeling the contents of food. Ended up with a super spicy dish that we could not eat. Cambodian chicken was good. On all dishes the Rice was dry and crunchy; old. The night we went there the place was being run by the sons. Young kids. No customer care. . Maybe the parents were away. We ordered the Pad Thai, kid size Pho, chili oil dumplings, and crab Rangoon. We all shared dishes. The pad Thai was nice and moist, not dry like most places. The dumplings were perfectly cooked, not gummy. The rangoons a little overdone but very tasty. The children's pho was perfect to share with our 1 yr old, but next time I would get a full size bowl because the flavor was spot on m. I wish we lived closer, we would be regulars! Only minor complaint is that an underage child served our table, had no people skills and never checked on us once. Job got done, but service could be more professional. read more

Stopped in for lunch on a weekend. Seemed like there was only one person working the front of house even though there were quite a few customers, and he was trying his best but couldn't quite keep up with all the tables. The restaurant is cute with high ceilings and has plenty of space. The menu has a combination of Vietnamese, Thai, and general Chinese and other Asian cuisine items. My party had the tofu salad roll, shaking beef, the street noodles with tofu, and the singapore noodles with tofu. The salad roll was pretty good with standard peanut sauce. The noodle dishes were ok. They each had a nice amount of vegetables with tofu, but the sauces were not quite what we expected. The street noodles tasted good, and especially were enhanced by spice, but you have to ask for spice--the employee who took our order did not ask us for our preferred spice level, and the default seems to be no spice at all. The Singapore noodles (which are typically made with vermicelli, which is listed as an option on the menu but was not provided--the dish I actually got was with yellow noodles and I wasn't asked for my preference) were nothing like what Singapore noodles are typically like. They are supposed to be flavored with curry powder and come out in a somewhat yellow curry-like sauce, and what I got was nothing like that at all. It was in a somewhat sweet brown sauce that got really same-y by the end. The shaking beef was also not like typical shaking beef at all. It was more like a basic Chinese stir fry of sliced beef than the flavors or cubed beef of actual shaking beef. Portions are satisfying, but overall the flavors left something to be desired in terms of complexity and authenticity. read more

I personally love Moe's tea and MoePho at the casino. Tonight we decided to stop in on a whim since we love the food at the casino. But the shop on main had to be one of the most mid experiences I've had in a long time. Let me just start by saying the waiter was not great. Younger kid wearing foam slides, shorts that were falling down past his ass, and looked like someone's friend off the street just filling in. The wife and I both Ordered 2 different noodle dishes and the mixed appetizer plate. She received a noodle dish, I received a rice dish. The appetizer plate was missing crab puffs. There was still an hour till close and the kid was stacking chairs and closing up shop before we got our food. Moe Pho gets top marks for service. We've rarely been in a place that has such attentive waitstaff. The prices were reasonable and the portions worth the money. The ambiance is a bit off-putting; the restaurant feels built in a shotgun house, with two long rows of tables and zero warmth. My wife and I both ordered the phô and found it pretty good, just... kinda lacking. The broth could be more robust and shouldn't need to be served with hoisin sauce and sriracha; it should stand on its own. Also, phô should come with Thai basil, not Italian. Really tasty! We got delivery to our hotel. Great vegan options! I got the basil with tofu. It was tasty, but I ordered it three stars hot and it had ZERO heat. No red pepper flakes or hot peppers. I looked closely through the dish because I wanted something spicy and thought maybe I was missing the hot peppers or pepper flakes or something. I figure maybe in this rural area people just don't tolerate spice but, my husband got his curry fried rice with three stars hot and he said it was so spicy it was at his limit of what he enjoys. So I took a star off for consistency and my meal not being spicy AT ALL when I ordered it "hot." Otherwise I would give this place another chance if I was in town again but specify that I wanted it spicy in the notes to be sure. read more

I give this a 3 star based on the taste of the food. Potstickers were alright, the chicken & rice was heavily covered in the sauce. Fried egg rolls, I wasn't a fan of. I just didn't like the flavor. I did ask for Pork but I think they were veggie... the Thai Tea was probably the best thing. This isn't a restaurant I would return to. For the items I bought it was $33... We were pleasantly surprised with how good the food was here. We didn't want fast food but were hungry and driving by Pendleton. The food is mostly Cambodian which is similar to Thai and Vietnamese, but with its own subtleties. The pho was very good, the Cambodian street noodles and shaking beef (I think that was the name) were great. The pho broth had a delicate umami flavor and that traditional taste of star anise that I just love. It was rich and flavorful--I was happy to see there was fish sauce in the condiment table but I didn't need it. All the vegetables were fresh and very traditional. The food was just very comforting and delicious. Service was friendly. I was very happy that they had reusable chopsticks. And, my husband really took advantage of the spicy sauces. The restaurant was beautiful--I loved the brick wall and the wooden floors. The only thing that was disappointing was the bathroom. It was dirty and needs some major TLC. If I ever find myself again in Pendleton, I will come back. read more

UPDATE: In light of the owners response (and also some very loyal patron's "compliment"), I must preface this review because it seems that some people don't know how to take it on the chin. I have some negative reviews for Vietnamese restaurants. I don't usually leave reviews at all. Unless it was extremely noteworthy or I felt extremely disappointed. If I had to leave a review for every Vietnamese restaurant I've ever eaten at, I'd have to quit my day job. Most likely I've eaten more Pho than Moe here has. And while I appreciate Moe defending his business and recipe, without any local competition in this market, I'm afraid it's his word against mine. And it also looks like their ratings are beginning to dwindle. Not to mention some locals I asked after I had eaten there, were not fans of the pho. I will be docking one star based on the hostile response. Good luck. My rating reflects the Pho and overall experience. I like small town eateries, especially historic locations. I also like Pho. My wife says it's an obsession. Having said that, I like the interior of this place, it has a very unique vibe. When I saw the price for the Pho Dac Biet was $13, I though "oh boy, this is going to be good!" Not so. Utter disappointment. The broth is not authentic. It is dark. Tastes like beef and onion. Almost tastes like I'm eating French onion soup. There was a meager amount of noodles and meat. And a lot if tasteless broth. Which I left in the bowl. And that is not normal for me. I usually devour all the broth. It wasn't bad. The broth for what it is, was okay. But it was not Pho - and I thought I was going to get a good bowl of Pho. They may have other food that is good, and maybe that's what they should focus on, but change the name. Pho is not your strong suit. read more

Extremely poor pho. Not traditional in any way at all. Barely seasoned broth tastes like it came from a can. Meatballs are not traditional, not properly shaped, and sliced like a hot dog you would give to a 4 year old. Noodles are dried out and stick to each other. Worst of all they don't even offer traditional ingredients like tripe. Service was terrible as well. Maybe they don't think there is a market for real pho in the area, but it seems more likely they don't know what pho is. Considering thier "clever" play on words in their business name implies they can't even pronounce the name of the dish. read more

It's a very cute spot and clean as a whistle, but its namesake dish (Pho) is pedestrian at best. It needed more aromatics (star anise, cinnamon bark, coriander seeds and cloves) sodium and a shake (or two) of black pepper to be the real deal. And the slices of beef amounted to a couple of tablespoons for a $13 price tag. Thai dishes coming out of the kitchen looked heavenly and the service was both quick and friendly. Just ok. Broth was passable. Meat to noodle ratio was a little subpar. Sauces came in a tiny little cup, 1 half filled siracha and 1 half filled hoisen per bowl.
