The Shorty-P Deluxe

The bagel was tasty and well-made overall. I do wish there had been a better balance of meat to egg, especially considering the price. Adding a sauce or including cream cheese without an extra charge would really take it to the next level.

Veggies for your bagel.

I'm a huge fan! I particularly love the pumpernickel bagels here. A pumpernickel bagel from Moe's is just out of the park!

Asiago bagel with their "heavy" veggie cream cheese

Great bagels and sandwiches with a courteous staff, however ..... They moved the price of the bagels up, staff wages went up, and they removed tipping. This was all a very positive move, I'll pay more if staff is covered and I can remove the tip hassle at the end. Great until the bagels got smaller, 1/2 the cream cheese spread, and the tip jar is back. I ordered once and a guy barely put cream cheese on the bagel, I sent it back. Today I ordered and told the girl I'd pay more for the "regular amount" .....nope

The Spicy Buff

I ordered online and it was ready in about 10 minutes. I got the spicy buff on an Asiago bagel- I wish the Asiago was a bit stronger, but over the bagel was good and had a good amount of bacon on it! I do wish that the online ordering system included all of the bagel options that are available in store, however.

I love a good lox bagel and this place blew me away! We walked over on a beautiful day, it's conveniently in capitol hill and easy to walk to, and pet friendly (outside seating at least) The inside is so cute, the menu has a hand-painted feel and has so many options (for sandwiches, bagel types, cream cheese flavors and more). I opted to keep it simple, a toasted everything bagel (called Italian here) with scallion cream cheese, lox and red onion. I also had an iced latte with oat milk and vanilla - honestly both were so yummy. I loved the bagel so much! Fresh and delicious. And the coffee too. Everything for $13 so super reasonable and the staff were fast and friendly.

these bagels are HUGE but so delicious! Their cream cheese tastes super fresh and are great pre-hike breakfasts. Walking in makes you feel like you're in a community place with lots of customers even early in the morning, chalk board menus, and almost like a line where you can see the bagels getting prepped. I would order ahead for a faster experience but love the vibes of this place! Would definitely be a regular if I lived here!

Pumpernickel everything bacon egg and cheese

It's in my mind as possibly the best breakfast in Denver. The coffee is great and the chorizo is a local take on a classic and it's amazing

salt bagel with cream cheese

they have salt bagels!!! i LOVE a good salt bagel and it was practically as good as ones i've gotten in NY bagel shops (and we all know NY has the best bagels). bagel was perfectly toasted, generous amount of cream cheese and beautifully delicious. i also got an iced mocha which was yum as well. service was quick, the workers were very friendly, overall vibe and environment was great. highly recommend!

Yum! We had delicious breakfast sandwiches here. One of the better bagels I've had in Denver. The cream cheese was amazing and there were so many options of bagels, cream cheeses, and other sandwiches. Service was great, very friendly staff. They have some tables outside as well as a dining area inside.

Drive out of my way to go here! Worth it to order for pickup bc the line can get really long and it is a small place so often the line is out the door. It took awhile to get our bagels but again it was a Sunday morning and super busy. The bagels were worth the wait! Love how you can customize it to be whatever you want with endless options or choose a bagel they recommend. They did mix up mine and my boyfriend's order (switching the bagels) but it was still super yummy!

Great food. Poorly organized. Takes a long time for no good reason. Staff doesn't work well as a team and assembly line is disorganized.

Businessmen getting breakfast before a meeting, young couples, and friend groups would all feel comfortable dining here. Breakfast was delicious and came out quickly. Hostess was attentive and friendly. Steak was tender but lacked seasoning, not a big deal. Loaded tots are to die for, you need to get these with your meal, you won't regret it. Would recommend if in the area, but nothing to go out of your way for. 8.5 out of 10 would recommend.

Upon doing so, you notice they've added two unusual changes -- a 2% "restaurant impact fee" and a 1% "kitchen staffing fee." We were told that the fee helps pay the kitchen staff because the wait staff doesn't share tips with them. We asked to have it removed and were told it cannot be removed. This is a problem based on principle and nothing else. There are costs associated with running a business. Pay your employees properly so that these fees don't need to be added. Be honest about it -- increase the cost of menu items if necessary -- but don't add HIDDEN fees! It makes you look slimy and dishonest. At the very least, remove the fees when your customers don't want to pay them. This really pales our opinion of this place. It's irritating and embarrassing for everyone, including the wait staff who have to explain the fees to the patrons, and in this case, receive a smaller tip.

Well, I have visited this restaurant 3 times. All 3 times have been for a holiday brunch or…read moredinner. Location (4 stars) This restaurant is downtown near the convention center. parking is pricy if you valet park at the hotel. Last year it was around $40. Parking in the lot across the street for $25 dollars Easter Sunday. If you use a walker, I would not recommend the parking lot across the street. Food (3 Stars) The Thanksgiving buffet is the best one. I would rate that buffet a (4). The Christmas and Easter buffet are pretty low key. There is a carving station (ham and prime rib). There is an omelet station. Dessert bar is decorative. Cheesecake was delicious. The warming station with potatoes, sausage etc. leaves much to be desired. The charcuterie station is sparse. They offer unlimited mimosas for an additional $25. Service (5 stars) Staff are extremely friendly. Cleanliness (2 stars) My only complaint, I saw a tabletop being cleaned off with a rag used to clean the chairs and then under the table on the floor and on to the next tabletop. I'm just a little picky about that. Especially since folks these days go commando and wear short attire, and you know their parts are on the chair and now spread to tabletops. Wiping up the crumbs off the floor with same rag simply through me over the edge. Atmosphere (4 stars) Spacious uncrowded environment. Nice decor. Bright with large windows.

I saw Former Saint on CBS News, and the menu and food looked incredible. In particular, that white chocolate blueberry cheesecake was something I know my hubby would look forward to all week! I loved the idea of local food and fresh homemade dishes. Sounds healthy, after a week of potential over-indulgence at other restaurant week venues. An additional bonus was that it is located right near the Denver Convention Center and the Performing Arts Center. This has become a dry spot for fine dining, with even the choices on Larimer Square growing more thin, giving rise to the inability to get reservations at favorites like Tamayo and Rioja prior to a show. I go to performances frequently with friends, and despite my rule to avoid hotel restaurants (Former Saint is in the Hyatt Regency), I thought I'd scope out Former Saint as a place to take my friends before the next symphony or Children's Chorale or ballet or broadway performance. I must say, the jury is still out. Former Saint was a Jekyll and Hyde of courses. Parking was not difficult (Yay, maybe I can park here prior to my shows, if I grab a bite first). There is a large garage, and the promise of validation from the restaurant. The ambiance of the restaurant is typical hotel restaurant. Booths, tables, old and a bit drab. Except for the bar. Oh, my! The bar has this BEAUTIFUL copper creation above it, adding so much industrial character to the space! I was in awe looking at it, as it appeared to bring craft suds to the bartender's taps. I didn't ask how it worked, as it wasn't clear how the beer separation and dispensing worked, but it was a great centerpiece and spectacle for the place. I do wish I had investigated more about this architectural marvel, and will do so if I return. For restaurant week, my husband chose the Lobster Ravioli, Ribeye, and blueberry cheesecake (as predicted). I chose the Gotham salad, roasted chicken, and key lime tart. The lobster ravioli was nice; my husband was surprised that it was a toasted ravioli, but enjoyed it. My salad was full of beautiful greens, pears, walnuts, and feta. No scrimping here! The dressing was light and sweet/sour. The pears were a bit unripe and crisp, to the point that I was having trouble identifying exactly what fruit I was eating, but other than that, the salad was beautiful, healthy, and ample. My husband's ribeye steak was a nice cut, done to his liking. Slivered hash browns were underneath with a nice green chimichurri on top and some sliced Fresnos adding a welcome kick to the dish. My chicken was delightful. 1/2 chicken on the bone, seasoned nicely, and with a pan sauce. The breast was super-tender and delicious. It came atop cheesy grits, which was a yummy substitute for a mashed potato. I also was served side salad of curly lettuce and fennel. I probably didn't need more salad, but I was glad to have the healthy side on my plate. I will say that this salad was over-seasoned. The chicken and grits were great, but the salad too salty. My husband ordered a glass of J. Lohr Cabernet, which was a very nice find on the wine list, as far as a pairing for his ribeye. That said, the glass cost $30! A bit much, I might say. The real detractor, unfortunately, was dessert. The blueberry cheesecake looked nothing like the beautiful creamy white cheesecake accented throughout by purple blueberries, which I saw on the CBS News clip. My husband was served a very small solid purple slice, overcome with whipped cream dollops. This cheesecake had been uncovered in the fridge too long, with sort of a skin on it. My husband ate almost none of it. My key lime tart was similarly over-adorned with whipped cream, although I had some nice raspberries on top. The tart also seemed overexposed to the cool air, with the thickening of a skin on top. It was a very disappointing way to end a nice meal, and belied the healthy, homemade, craft theme. High points of this experience include the well-crafted and healthy entrees, the fact that we could see the convention center right outside our window (i.e., the location is perfect for pre-event or -theater), the $3.00 validated parking fee, and that beautiful copper tap system. Will the pros outweigh the cons? Will we be back with friends? Time will tell.

SPACE: Located in the highlands, this place has become the new "it" spot when it comes to breakfast. It's easy to spot on the corner, has decent street parking options and cute as pie inside. Bright colors splash the walls, which are lined with booths and tables alike. Community seating is in the middle, which the girls and I were happy to dine at. The color scheme here is so fun and welcoming, creating a happy and fun vibe. SERVICE: We were greeted inside by a friendly host who explained they were on a small wait. MAKE A RESERVATION and you'll be able to skip the wait, like we did, as this place is popular and fills up fast! Our server, his name escapes me now, was SO fun. He had us laughing, excited about the various food and drink offerings and made us feel right at home. It was obvious he was outgoing and truly enjoyed his job, which made all the difference in service! SIPS: We all opted for various coffee and matcha drinks. I sipped on the iced cereal milk latte, while my sister sampled the fruity pebbles matcha and our cousin had the cortado. YUM! SUSTENANCE: Such fun and different food options - which had us craving both savory and sweet! We started with the sausage in a blanket and loaded hashbrown, which was so good! My sister opted for a benedict, cousin got the massive breakfast burrito, and I opted for the breakfast salad - which was perfectly seasoned, crunchy, salty with a runny egg on top. SERIOUSLY YUM! We also chose to try the buttermilk and blueberry pancakes, because why the heck not?! Everything came out in good time, was pretty in presentation and absolutely delicious! Portions are massive so come hungry! Here's to more breakfast dates at this new and fun spot!!
