This place exceeded my expectations. The staff were very helpful and friendly. There were about 10 tables and a couple outside. I tried the club sandwich and homemade chips. The sandwich was delicious. It was warm but the bread was perfectly soft. I loved the flavor combination (ham, turkey, bacon, cheese and avocado. The chips were perfectly crunchy. We went 20 min before closing and they told us they were only doing carry out orders, which was unfortunate since that's what my son wanted for his birthday dinner. Killer sandwich place! Stopped in today for the first time and ordered the Aspen melt with tots (truffle seasoning). My husband got the Pueblo cheesesteak with tots (bacon jalepeno cheddar seasoning). Both were to die for. Came out quick, decently priced, and huge portions. I stepped in to pick up the food, and the ambiance was fun and lively. The food took a little bit of time to come out, but you could see them make it fresh, so I was happy to wait. I felt the price point was relatively fair as well. As for the sandwich itself, it was delicious! It was well packed with meat and veggies. A little more meat would have really sealed the deal, but when isn't that the case? The veggies were fresh and crisp, and the acidity of the pickled ones cut through the richness of the meat well. I love that all of the selections have CO names (even if the server couldn't pronounce Palisade correctly, haha). From the Colorado Cubano to the Spicy Shrimp Po' Boy, the Palisade Turkey and Brie and the Breckenridge bourbon Dipper - not one of them was even mediocre! We also sampled the tomato bisque! After free day at History Colorado it was time for some lunch and the two options were BurgerFi or Zeps. While I'm not a huge burger eater, I do love a good sandwich, so to Zeps we went. Okay, yes, the food was decent and the service was great, but I have a few bones to pick with em. Browsing through the menu board, I was intrigued by several of the sandwiches and the fun twists and creative ingredients they came up with. However, the prices are outrageous. They charge more than $12 for almost all the sandwiches and ya don't even get a small side without having to pay extra. Not to mention, the sandwiches aren't that big, nor are they stacked with ingredients. Telluride. Carved turkey, mozzarella, bacon onion jam, tomato, arugula, and candied lemon mayo on a baguette. Sounds terrific, amirite? Yeah, not so much. The baguette was filled with turkey and arugula, but I didn't taste much else nor see much else, which was disappointing because that bacon onion jam and candied lemon mayo sounded delightful. Also would like to point out that it was only slightly bigger than a six inch subway sandwich.. for $12.50 Totchos. Were they $7.50 worth? Absolutely not, but the ingredients were fresh and tasted good, although skimpy. Picky eaters beware. This place is not for you. Thankfully they were kind enough to make my sister a plain chicken sandwich with pickles, which she said was good. I'd love to come back and try other things and would love to see some kind of combo system on the menu because a small meal should not cost $20 for one person. The perfect lunch on the patio for a Sunday afternoon. I had the telluride and it was delish! I wasn't sure about the toasting but the turkey had this crispiness that was just so dang good! I have to say that the arugula tasted like it was melted with the sandwich instead of put on fresh, and I probably prefer my greens to be the freshness of the sandwich. But that lemon mayo deserves its own 5 star review. I wish they sold that stuff in bottles. Seriously get a side of it if you're a lemon person like me. The other thing was the chips. I got the salt and vinegar and truffle (to try both) BECAUSE they make their own kettle chips! This is huge and I was so exciting. Our chips were half soggy, and we would have loved em with some more time in the fryer. This place has some really good sandwiches, all local inspired which is fun. Pleasantly surprised. Needed some calories before hanging out and going to a concert. Friends I planned on meeting up with were running late, so I randomly decided on a sandwich here. Greeted by a clean store being worked by friendly staff. Couldn't decide so they recommended a couple items and I went with a Trailhead. Solid fillings, nice bacon jam, and quite filling. Great sandwiches with so many options! Their vegetarian options are amazing; great sauces and fresh veggies! I ordered the Bahn mi with tofu, but they accidentally made it with chicken, so they remade it quickly and apologized for the mistake. We also tried the tater tots and homemade chips. The tots were great and so were the chips (a few were undercooked but otherwise tasty). Free parking for ZEPS customers out front. I'll definitely be back to try more of their options.
