Pulled Pork Platter Southern Fried Shrimp Moe Boy
    Emily N.

Hits every single time. Their pulled pork is awesome with or without sauce. The mac and cheese, hashbrown casserole, and mud pie are my favorite sides to get. My boyfriend LOVES and craves the shrimp Moe Boy sandwich. We love eating here. Definitely check it out!

Came with a friend on a Friday evening and it was remarkably quiet. There was plenty of parking around the restaurant. We ordered the large ribs platter and the smoked wings based on the waiters recommendation as being the most popular dishes. All orders are placed at the counter. Ambiance: 4/5 It was pretty smokey inside and gave a very local smokehouse vibe Service: 4/5 food came out at a decent time Food: 5/5 It was probably the best smoked ribs and wings I've had in the triangle. The smokey flavor permeated the meat and the Alabama white sauce complemented the wings well. Price: 4.5/5 The price was decent for good bbq. Overall: I'll definitely be back and tell others about this spot!

Finally was able to visit Moe's in Durham. Boy was it a good choice! Not only was the bbq fantastic, but the staff was very hospitable as well. I'd highly recommend if you're in the Durham area! The pulled pork sammich was fantastic!

Spare Ribs!!! Nice char, tender, nice pull off the bone, and great sauce. Bread, beans and greens also excellent.

We ordered the pulled pork platter and loved it. The collard greens, jambalaya and cornbread were outstanding. The server recommended the jambalaya and we were very pleased with that recommendation. We will be back soon. When you walk in you know are at a good bbq spot.

This was my first time at Moe's Original BBQ in Durham, and it definitely won't be my last! The food was absolutely delicious. I had the smoked turkey sandwich, baked beans, jambalaya, and finished it off with some banana pudding--all of it was top-notch. The service was fantastic, and the staff made me feel right at home. The atmosphere is a blend of a sports pub and a BBQ joint. I'll definitely be back for more!

First of all, spacious inside with a lot of seats. We came on a weekend night, 30min before closing! Not much of service, but not complaining bc we don't have to tip and we were too hungry too! We couldn't get many of the stuff on the menu, bc they were out of it. Understandable since we came late. Three stars , really bc it's just very average. The Mac and cheese was just average. Wings were good but I expected better when this place is rated highly. Just another mediocre place probably will go again if my friends want to but not gonna be a place I recommended people to go to

I liked this place a lot. You walk in and are greeted kindly. The door handle is a cleaver and the rest of the restaurant is mostly decorated like a normal BBQ place but has some undersea elements which I thought was cool. You order at the counter and after just a few minutes, they slide out your food on a tray and you take it to your table of choice. They have a whole roll of paper towels on each table and extra BBQ sauce that you can take with you to your table. All the side that I tried (mac&cheese, beans, cornbread, banana pudding) were all really good! The beans tasted a bit sweet. The cornbread was a bit dry and didn't have the best flavor which was disappointing. The meat was cooked really well and the BBQ sauce was a bit sweet and complimented the meat well. I will definitely come back next time I visit my sister!

Large rib platter and smoked wings

Pretty decent hole in the wall kinda place! I got the large ribs platter and my boyfriend got the smoked wings that came with the Alabama style sauce. The ribs were pretty good, I feel like I'm not the best judge of authentic BBQ tho. The smoked wings were actually sooo good, packed with flavor and really crispy. The Alabama sauce was a good touch to contrast the flavor. The sides were delectable and surprisingly really fresh. Service was friendly as well.

Excellent barbecue pulled pork ribs smoked turkey breast homemade potato salad collards cornbread and more! The location is tucked in the corner of an easily accessible road adjacent to a major interstate- exta parking available- accessible parking almost up to the door! Homegrown customer service- place your order pay and sit in the restaurant or outside on the patio. A full bar available- take out & delivery available - I had the pulled pork sandwich this time with potato salad & collards my friends had the pulled pork entree and smoked turkey sandwich tray with collards potato salad corn bread and we polished it off with a mini serving of banana pudding- yummy yummy yummy! My second time eating at this location- stellar service and food also at that time!!

    A plate of...well...just about everything

Moe's BBQ is a fantastic plate of BBQ every time, with plenty of options and no fuss. They offer a variety of menu stalwarts and rotating specials, so you can either stick with your classic staples and experiment a little. I love all the little things they do right: the music, the sauces, the draft beer options, the well-crafted sides, the pickles, the griddled cornbread. These types of little touches are what make Moe's SO money, every time. Regarding the meats, everything is super solid, but I think their smoked turkey and wings are done very well. Moe's gives you a range of BBQ options without any weak spots whatsoever. You don't need to wait in a long line or pay an arm and a leg for crafted BBQ, just go to Moe's.

I ordered mine on pressed focaccia bread and everything from the juicy crispy chicken to the parmesan cheese and toppings was top notch. Inside the shop was a classic deli where you order at the counter and then browse the various goods/merch while you wait. Service was fast and the sandwiches came out within 5 minutes of ordering. There are a couple picnic tables outside to sit and eat but other than that, mostly a to-go place. First timers: get the Uncle Primo's, you won't regret it!

As you enter there is a sign that tells you to go look at the menu board, pick out your drink, and go back to the counter to order. I grabbed a diet coke, and ordered a Common Cobb. I was a bit surprise when my total came to $18, as my salad was only $14 but I guess I should have paid attention that my bottle of soda was over $3. How much are the fountain drinks, I wonder? I found us a table inside since it was a bit hot that day (there is also plenty of seating outside AND inside if you go downstairs). The table and floor were messy but someone quickly came to clean it for me. They called our names over the loudspeaker and my best friend went to go get our food. She got the MotherClucker. Our food was REALLY good. If you like Cobb salad, you will definitely like this one. The chicken was pan seared perfectly, the vinaigrette was perfectly tangy and the bleu cheese was especially excellent. My friend's chicken sandwich has SO MUCH chicken salad on it. Impressive. There was so many neat items to see in the place. The murals were great, there were some cute retail spaces, a coffee bar up front, a bar downstairs, and ice cream outside! Unfortunately my bestie and I had too much to talk about so we didn't check it out as much as I otherwise wood. I would definitely try this place again!

We got sandwiches and fries. The fries were nice and hot, but needed salt- I'd probably skip them and go for chips in the future. The sandwiches were nice and not too expensive for 2025 lol. I had to add some condiments to mine, but that's definitely better than having them use too many condiments and not be able to eat your sandwich. My husband enjoyed his sandwich too (and added more condiments). The ambiance is really cool. If you sit upstairs you have a great view of the whole place and you can people-watch. The cashier was very nice and explained to us how everything worked. There was also someone who came around to check on us after we'd gotten our food, so that was nice to feel like staff/management care that you're having a good experience. Would definitely go back!

During the height of the pandemic, they offered free bagged lunch to anyone who needed one. They also were (are?) part of the pilot project for Durham's guaranteed income. It looks to me that the owners/company are concerned about being good citizens of the community and that's a great thing. These days, so many companies get bought out by private equity companies. I hope this bakery continues to be locally owned and operated! (Also, generally this bakery isn't offering the very fancy European/European-ish style pastries which is fine by me. The prices are very reasonable, possibly in part because they aren't trying to make their baked goods a "high end" item.
