Good BBQ but we go for the smoked wings. One of our favorite things to eat in Rome! And their sides like skillet corn, collards, grilled cornbread, Mac-n-cheese and more are also worth the trip. A full bar and outside eating too make it a favorite for many in Rome. read more

One of our favorite places to go. Good atmosphere. Big fans of the Redneck Nachos and pork skins. This last visit both were incredibly salty, not their typical. I am visiting Rome GA and I found a great BBQ restaurant. The staff was very friendly and service was fast. The Pork BBQ was smoke very well with lots of flavor. The slaw was perfect, very fresh. I love the flavor of the baked beans. My only critique is not to use canned beans. Huge patio space. Interior is cozy and inviting. read more

Very impressed with this spot in downtown Rome. I ordered the ribs and they were incredible. Smoked chicken on the side was excellent too. I didn't get to try them but their smoked wings looked good (although maybe a little pricey at $1.00 each). Brunswick stew was great. Collards were good (maybe could have been cooked a little longer). Cornbread with peppers was excellent. Everything seemed fresh and home-cooked (nothing from a can). I came back to my hometown this weekend and discovered a new restaurant, Moe's BBQ. I'm very happy to see this building restored and remodeled beautifully. I wish I could have seen the fire place going. We ordered our food at the front, got our drinks, and then sat ourselves. The food was brought out pretty quickly. My friend and I ordered sides plates because we liked what we saw in the pictures on Yelp. Unfortunately they must have made some changes since those pictures because ours was different. The Mac and cheese was just okay. The cucumber and tomato salad was alright, and my peas and greens we're probably the best tasting item on my tray, and I added lots of hot sauce. I tried my dad's pulled pork and it was alright. My unsweetened tea was on point. I loved seeing the out door eating area, and I'd like to come back during the day to the bar (with a window to the outdoor side as well). I think the Charleston restaurant scene has really spoiled me so I am rating this place based on what Rome has to offer. This is a wonderful location, and beautiful building on the river. They also have an event space, and it looked really pretty, and would be perfect for a rehearsal dinner. I'll definitely be coming back. read more

Yelp lead me to this Gem earlier this summer when we were in town for a baseball tournament. Took the advice of the lady at the register and let her order for me. She hit a home run!!!! Rib sandwich, fried okra, and banana pudding. I would highly recommend this location. Good Eats!!! read more

This BBQ is well worth the drive from North Georgia. It is so difficult to find Texas style brisket and this Texas gal is so thrilled to have found this little gem! I've been really tough on BBQ over the last couple years, but Moe's gave me hope. I first had it at a catered Chamber of Commerce meeting and wanted to try the joint. I typically just have a smoothie on gym days but tried it anyway. It was worth it. The rib Sammy, collards, and rice and beans were great. I had the pulled pork, Mac n cheese, and beans at the meeting and it was all on point! One negative is I feel completely unproductive now. read more

My earlier review from a couple years ago was 2 stars. I've been back a couple times since and they have gotten way better. The pulled pork sandwich was great. And the cornbread was phenomenal! They must have completely changed how they make it because it used to be terrible. And the Mac n cheese was fantastic too. Stopped here on a whim for lunch during the week after riding up from Kennesaw on the bike. Sat at the bar and was attended by Brandi. Excellent service and lunch (bbq rib sandwich). Nope, nope, nope! Whom ever rated this place with 4/5 stars clearly doesn't have a true taste for BBQ. I can't understand how Moe's even had the audacity to say that it's "original". Let me just spit it out...THE FOOD SUCKS!!! This should not be categorized under BBQ at all. The "made from scratch" sides should be scratched from the menu. Smh! If I had to describe Moe's in one word, it would be "BLAND".... oh and "DRY"! Sonny's BBQ is much, much better than this place, and I think they suck but not as bad as Moe's. read more

The BBQ was delicious and the sides are also great ....from the delicious BBQ, smoked wings, perfectly seasoned peas, corn, collards, and grilled cornbread to the decadent banana pudding. My favorite BBQ in Rome. The pulled chicken sandwich as is, is really good. I go back for it consistently. Service is pretty good for a fast casual type setup. Waits are usually between 5-15 min for food after ordering. My only complaint is that their sides could be improved. The one we love is their house-made chips, but the others aren't great, which could be a preference too. Price though for what you get is a good value! read more

Pulled pork was average. (No beef on the menu.) But, they use a super cheap bun which fell apart the 3rd time I picked up the sandwich. Where is it written in the BBQ rules book that you must put very wet dill pickles on a BBQ sandwich? Baked beans were probably out of the gallon sized Campbell's version however, they added black pepper, chopped onion, green pepper, and cayenne pepper. Too spicy for my taste. Serve-yourself soda fountain - Coke products, but no Coke Zero. The bagged Lays Potato Chips were fresh. Nice decor and staff. Large, single-seat, clean ladies room. They have a good handicap ramp but you don't want to go in the rain. It's not real easy to get from the car to inside. The meal cost almost $10. read more

We searched for a barbecue place on our way back home and stopped here because the reviews were good. It did not disappoint. The guy at the register asked if we've ever been here before...we said no so he came around the counter to explain the menu to us. Very nice guy. Such a wonderful experience. We are not normally in the area but was nearby doing other business and mentioned wanting lunch. The employee suggested Moe's. Specifically the redneck nachos. The food was good with a nice smoke flavor & dry rub on the ribs & brisket. The fries seasoned well & apple pie was a nice finish. I only rate it a 3 because the manager Warren was rude when I had my sandwich sent back because the menu nor cashier explained what is on the sandwich. If I had known, I would have made preparations. I explained to the waitress my issue, who gladly replaced it. Then Warren comes out to tell me that I told the waitress I wanted the sandwich with everything on it & continued to tell me I should check the menu next time before finalizing my order. I do not appreciate someone telling me how wrong I am as a customer when I was patient in the replacement & the menu does not have everything listed for their food. read more

I expected a lot more from this place after reading the reviews, but was highly disappointed. I went on Easter Sunday to pick up food for my family to eat at home. Nothing tasted right except for the BBQ. The mac n cheese was extremely salty, the baked beans seemed to have pickled jalapeños in them (which I have never seen before), and the cornbread tasted like a sugary cake. We thought the BBQ was fine until the next day when everyone who ate it now has food poisoning, including my already extremely sick grandmother. Will never be coming back. read more

Huge portions and an interesting twist on their BBQ sauce. AK, Brandi, Samya, and Kaitlyn are some of the best bartenders around and make me never want to leave. Tip: go on Thursday nights.
