1st time coming to Linden, NJ location and it was pleasant visit. It's located right off route one and is next to a strip shopping area with shared parking spaces. The service was friendly but a bit slow. Good thing it was a weeknight and I'm the only one on the line around dinner time. The food was good and portion size is generous. I got their tofu bowl, brown rice, lettuce, corn and tomatoes, grilled onions and peppers, guac and jalapeño. I love their unlimited chips and their salsa bar area. Moe's is a blend of Chipotle and Baja Fresh. Have come to this location a few times, everyone is always friendly and they get you in and out quickly. Picked up a to go order today and enjoyed our meal. I tried the funkmeister steak tacos, one soft shell and one hard shell, and my husband got the earmuff burrito bowl. Don't really understand the naming convention here but it is what it is. The burrito bowl was really big, enough to eat from it twice. Two tacos were filling although I did enjoy the hard taco shell more than the soft shell taco. I filled both in exactly the same way to compare. The ingredients were fresh but I would probably try a different meat next time. The steak was a little chewy and wasn't too flavorful. The chicken looked decent so I might get that next time. Every dish here comes with a side of chips, which is a nice bonus. They have a salsa bar after you checkout so that you can get cups of sauce to dip your chips into. The salsa bar was neat and full and I loved how they had the to go containers neatly stacked so that you could easily bring salsas home with you if you are taking it to go. Thinking back I should have used some of that salsa on my taco! Nutrition info is available on their website which is neat especially because adding on toppings can quickly add up and you're not sure why. This was helpful for ordering. Plenty of space to eat inside but because the parking lot is shared with a few places it makes it a little hard to find parking sometimes. Not too bad though. It's a low key casual spot for lunch or dinner. Fun decor inside that takes it a step above doing fast food. It is a nice environment to casually eat here. The spices in the adobo chicken I had were something I thought I'd appreciate only at a fine restaurant. Moe's Mondays is something you can't afford to miss out if you live in the area. Ever have a place you just like going to where it just feels comfortable? This is "MY comfort zone". The food is always good, they play good music, it's clean and the staff always yells "Welcome to Moe's!" - I know, it sounds corny, but sometimes, I want corny, I like corny! Don't get me wrong, the other Mo's I have been to are okay, but to me, the one in Linden, NJ is literally the best. They pay attention to detail, every detail: I have been there many times. There is an ambiance and friendly feeling here that not many places have. I'm a big guy at 6'2" 240lbs (I work out) and this is the only place I go to that gives me portions that fill me up. My favorite dish is "The Earmuffs". I pretty much double everything: steak, rice, beans, cheese, grilled onions, pico de gallo, cucumber, tomato, olives, guacamole, etc. "DID YOU BRING YOUR SPOON?" says David, one of the people I know that works there. "Yes I did, how's it going?" No one knows I bring a large Chinese soup spoon because I hate the little plastic ones, except David. I don't know if he's the manager or owner, but he should be. The guy is always doing something! Besides the really good food, I get as many sodas, free chips and salsa as I want! That's another thing that makes me happy. I know it's not a fancy restaurant, but due to the food, price, ambiance, cleanliness and attention to detail... This Moe's gets 5 stars! read more

This place was taken over by a new owner a few years ago and the owner himself gives you portion sizes so small, you really feel cheated. Its smaller than average. The portion sizes are overly controlled to the point you feel compelled to ask for a little bit more so that you get what you pay for as a customer. To label this place a Mexican Restaurant is a long shot. I would like to refer to MOE's as a american restaurant with a hispanic twist. If you come here don't leave with the idea that you have tried real mexican food or hispanic cuisine. What I liked about this place is that the food is fresh just like chipotle and it reminds me of Pollo Loco back in California. It is a bit overpriced for a burrito. You pay $7.75 for a burrito with very little meat. This location is new so patience is a virtue. The employees are all learning (it is expected with this being a new location). I was on line and I hated how rude so many of the customers where being. Like what difference does it make if the pico de gallo goes before your sour cream?? specially in a burrito where everything will be combined together once it is rolled! The location is clean and when you pay they give you the option to sign up to their rewards with your phone number: you but 10 times and you get a free burrito. Spend those carbs on their free chips, cousin, which are light and not oily, unlike some places who don't take those extra few seconds to drain them from the fryer. I love this place, and my granddaugher whose extra picky has to eat from here EVERY week..The staff is personable, and go out of there way to make you feel comfortable. I've been to more Moe's locations than I care to admit; and this one is for the most part par for the course. On the plus side, the product is fairly consistent with what you'll get at any Moe's location- burritos, tacos, quesadillas, salads, and stacks with a choice of meat, beans, rice, and toppings. The location is decent right off of routes 1 and 9, and the staff are generally friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately there are a couple consistently problematic things this location has going for it that drives my 3 star rating. First, the parking is a nightmare. Moe's is wedged in a corner of a shopping center that was a Kmart in a previous life- unfortunately most of the lot in that area is fire lane, service area, and a bunch of yellow striped areas. There is plenty of parking, but you may have a bit of a hike. Additionally, this location seems to consistently undercook their peppers, onions, and mushrooms- to the point that I usually have to pull them off (and should probably just stop ordering them). They're also a little on the pricy side. Decent place, but nothing any better than your standard Moe's (or any other burrito chain). read more

So went here today because I had the coupon for a free burrito. I asked for the homewrecker burrito which is explained in their menu but I had a trainee. He was very new it seemed and was unaware of the components listed on their menu. I received a bed of rice on a flour tortilla. I asked which meat, I chose chicken. Assuming that the protein would be a good portion of the burrito. Instead, I got maybe 7 small cubed pieces of chicken beast. I then got pinto beans, cheese sour cream, pico de gallo, and guacamole, which was surprisingly free. There is a salsa bar with 6 or 7 different salsas to add to your free chips and burrito. The chips are decent. The burrito, is a little less than decent due to the lack of meat. Might try again once they are more settled in. read more

By far the best customer service and always clean. The make it just the way you like. Sometimes they even stay open a little later than the closing time. I used to like moe's before I started eating it everyday in the restaurant in Elizabeth. I came to this one today for the first time. The staff was amazing and kind. I feel like that's very important , but the reason why I rated them this low is because once you throw cockroaches into the equation, there's no hope for a business. I ordered my food and everything and went to check out... The cashier briefly walked away and I looked down and there was this little bug crawling around on the counter. I looked closer and it was a baby roach... I was completely appalled and didn't say anything because I'm actually horrified of roaches and was in shock. I threw away my room right in the parking lot because I don't want to bring any of that home with me. That is soooo disgusting. How does this even happen when the building is so new? If the business owner could show me a exterminator report maybe someday I'll go back and change my review. One of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant, where to start? We got there around 9pm and there were four employees behind the food bar and a line of about 7-8 people ahead of us. By the time it came to the couple in front of us (approximately 20 minutes), they said there was no chicken or beef left... All that was left was some tofu and bits of spicy chicken. They said it would be a 7 minute wait for the chicken, so we figured we'd wait since it's already been this long. As we were starting out order, one of the employees saw some chicken laying on a meat cutter that he said he "forgot" was there. Who knows how long it stayed on there, but that was disgusting. We ended up just saying screw it and left. The dining area was dirty as well, food left on tables and flies flying around. Avoid this Moe's. read more

Definitely over priced for what you get. Very small portions of meat on the burritos. The chips are tasteless. The one good thing they had was the pineapple/cucumber salsa.... however they discontinued it and replaced it with a disgusting honey scriracha salsa. Reasons why people go to a moes location .. The Queso ... So when you order 2 things of queso and get all the way home and neither one is in the bag, you're not going to be the most thrilled customer. Whoever franchised this location needs to take a serious look at the staff members they are hiring. Every other Moes has staff that is super friendly and have people that want to be there. This staff acts as though customers are a burden to them. From the moment I walked in, I should have walked out. There was no signature 'Welcome to Moes' greeting. When I asked for two things of queso, one side and one cup, I was looked at like I had 5 heads. Then upon checking out, I had the $20 bill in my hand along with a nickel since the bill was $20.05. The cashier snatched the $20 bill out of my hand so forcefully that the nickel went flying and in the time it took for it to hit the ground, making a noise, alerting the cashier of his error; he managed to provide a disgusted look on his face and motion towards me like 'hello bitch, $20 isn't enough to pay for your bill'. I quickly shot him back the glare of 'I know, you're the one who dropped the nickel' which was vindicated upon the sound of it dropping on the floor behind him. And he proceeded without an ounce of remorse or heir of laughter to him. A friendly staff member would have just laughed it off and said something like 'oops, That's a slippery little sucker there', flashed a smile and a thank you for visiting. But nope, not this kid. ZERO customer service skills and ZERO people skills in the whole bunch tonight. And before someone tries to respond with a "it was busy sorry for failing to complete your order" it wasn't busy.
