Date night at Mohegan Manor, we are participating in The Dinner Detective, great food and laughs all around, highly recommend!

Chicken nachos

Went here for the first time and I wasn't impressed. We made reservations for dinner, and when we arrived, the entire restaurant was empty. We had to be seated in the bar because the dinner area wasn't even open. It was eerily quiet at first, but luckily someone turned on some background music a half hour in. The entree preparations apparently change daily, so the entree portion of the menu was extremely vague. A few examples: "NY Chicken Entree - Chef's Daily Special," "Boneless Duck - Daily Preparation" and "Clams - Steamed or Daily Option." They also serve various cuts of meat served "naked or with chef's daily sauce." In a higher end restaurant, I would expect a server to let us know what the daily preparations are. Even better, they should print daily menus that are more specific to what is being served that day. None of that happened, so we instead opted for a bunch of items off of their small plates menu. The service was fast since we were the only ones eating. We ordered fried calamari, tuna ceviche, chicken nachos and the "mac n cheese special" (again, very vague, but it turns out it is simply truffle mac and cheese). The tuna ceviche was awesome, but everything else left us disappointed. The calamari was very bland, and it was served with only a small drizzle of balsamic glaze on the plate. It desperately needed either more seasoning or more glaze. The chicken nachos were generic and the chicken had an odd texture (not sure why these are even on the menu). The mac and cheese was decent, but I couldn't taste any truffle oil. Their computer system was down and the owner refused to accept our coupon, so it took a while for us to pay after we got the bill. I know this place does a lot of banquets, but I don't think they have a huge dinner crowd. Needless to say, I don't recommend it for dinner and I won't be back anytime soon.

The crab martini is a thing of beauty! So delicious!

Love Mohegan! The fact that I live in Baldwinsville is a bonus! Have never had a bad meal here. The vibe is cool and the service is excellent! Jason & Dennis make everyone feel welcome the minute you walk through the door. The sushi is amazing. The crab martini is unbelievable! The basta tasting menu is also superb! 3 courses selected by the chef and paired with wine... How can you go wrong?! You won't be disappointed with the food and service.

The "Asian burger" fries were ordered on the side (no fries were given)

I was not expecting them to be kid friendly, as they are a little more upscale, but they asked if we wanted a high chair and kids menu for our toddler! The dining room has clearly been upgraded recently and was beautiful! Our server explained the various menus and specials and quickly took our drink orders. However, service started to decline after this. We had ordered the warm bread basket, and never ended up getting it. By the time we realized they had forgotten about it, we didn't feel like it was worth it. Our salads and soups came out quickly, but everything else took a while. When we would finish one course, it would take 10-15 min to clear our empty plates. The waitress also didn't check in with us very often to see if we wanted to order more drinks. I will also say that more places should start bringing our young kids entrees before the adults. It can be very tough for a toddler to patiently wait 30 minutes for their food. Once we got our food, I will say everything was quite delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly and had excellent flavor. Portion sizes were also great. I did find an unmashed chunk in my whipped potatoes, but the taste made up for that. The kids mac and cheese was also delicious and the portion was huge! For dessert, we had the option of creme brûlée cheesecake or flourless chocolate torte. Both were decadent and a good way to end the meal. We definitely want to give this place another try, as the food was good. They just need to work out some kinks with their service.

I had a Winter White Cosmo; tart, tasty, and garnished with whole cranberries. Very pretty! My crab stuffed haddock was huge, served very hot, with a side of green beans and REAL mashed potatoes. The other two entrees - scallops (beautiful golden brown) on corn puree, and a half chicken with a side of mashed potatoes with sauerkraut and bacon mixed in. Delish! Service was good, lots of room between tables, very clean, live music. I thought the price was spot on.

When my son's game at a local indoor center ran over by almost 30 minutes, I called and told them we would be late. They accommodated us and seated us immediately upon arrival. About 10 minutes later, at 8pm, the live music started. It was wonderful music, but where we were seated was in front of the speakers and two of our party wear hearing aides. When it looked like we were going to have to cut our celebration short, our server, the wonderful Marcy, and another gentleman, worked to get us seating in the lower dining room in front. We were so grateful for the accommodations, and everyone was super nice about it. The food and drinks were outstanding, of course. Our party ordered the chicken bowl, the chippy chicken, the curd burger, a cheeseburger, and the turkey avocado. Everyone was silent as they ate! The service was friendly and impeccable (even when we really weren't being easy customers), and our night, which could have gone south so quickly, was made! And hopefully a younger, hipper crew moved into our table and enjoyed the wonderful music! The band was great and we really enjoyed it still from where we ended up! So cheers to the staff at AG! We will be back (and know where to ask to sit next time! Haha)!!

Love the rustic Adirondack Cabin Vibe, first time I noticed The Legend of LongHorn portrayal. Friendly and attentive service. The dragonfruit Margarita sweet and sour with a fruity twist, large pour and enough to share. Both steaks cooked perfectly to order, loved the blue cheese crust! My daughter loves Molten Lava Cakes and was not disappointed! She has decided this is her new favorite Steakhouse, she preferred this meal over TR! My daughter and I arrived around 545 on a Saturday and were able to score a booth with no wait. Our booth was in a very bright area and the restaurant was crowded. Service was spot on throughout the meal very short wait time. Love the dragonfruit margarita, I didn't see any new cocktails that would sway my decision. Warm fresh bread, and salad quickly were served along with waters. The vegetables are very finely chopped in the salad, you can't avoid your not so favorites. Unfortunately both of our 6oz steaks ordered medium rare were served severely undercooked. We pondered if we would be ill from consuming undercooked meat. Unfortunately the next mishap is my daughter gnawing on a sharp plastic piece hidden in the Mac cheese took presidence over the undercooked steaks. We thought it was glass initially and were just happy she was not injured. Management was notified and apologetic offering replacement, and comped her meal. She opted out of any replacement, and we were both put off by the incident and undercooked steaks. I took most of my meal to go. Loved the margarita and great service! Unfortunately the food was a complete miss this visit! This is why I usually avoid restaurants during peak hours.

The dining room was spacious and clean and bright as were the servers and the bartenders who expertly served us. They have a happy hour from 5 to 7 that varies each day so on this Thursday was half price on selected appetizers as well as $2.50 domestic select drafts. We got there about 10 after five and the bar quickly filled up, which seemed to be regulars, which was a good sign. We decided to linger a little bit over our first drinks and ordered deep fried cheese curds with a delicious margarita type tomato sauce. I had never had fried cheese curds and they were plentiful and came out steaming hot topped with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese, unfortunately I did not take a picture as we were hungry and dove right in. When it was time for our second drink, I pondered over their wine list, but decided that with my Reuben and mac & cheese dinner a cold draft would suffice. My husband ordered the Philly cheesecake sandwich and onion rings. The mac & cheese and the onion rings were up charges of $2.50 and they were worth it. The cheesesteak sandwich was not shaved beef, but wonderfully thick pieces of beef on a perfectly toasted bun type with cheese and peppers. The onion rings were generous as well as crisp and not overly breaded. My Reuben was perfectly toasted on a delicious rye bread with just the right amount of sauce to not make it soggy. The star was their mac & cheese served in a steaming hot crock! It was creamy, not too cheesy, but cheesy enough to know that you were digging into a delicious bite of mac & cheese.. well done kitchen! All in all the meal was so large we could only eat half of it and brought it home for another day. We would certainly return as we enjoyed every bit of our evening.
