Date night at Mohegan Manor, we are participating in The Dinner Detective, great food and laughs all around, highly recommend!

Went here for the first time and I wasn't impressed. We made reservations for dinner, and when we arrived, the entire restaurant was empty. We had to be seated in the bar because the dinner area wasn't even open. It was eerily quiet at first, but luckily someone turned on some background music a half hour in. The entree preparations apparently change daily, so the entree portion of the menu was extremely vague. A few examples: "NY Chicken Entree - Chef's Daily Special," "Boneless Duck - Daily Preparation" and "Clams - Steamed or Daily Option." They also serve various cuts of meat served "naked or with chef's daily sauce." In a higher end restaurant, I would expect a server to let us know what the daily preparations are. Even better, they should print daily menus that are more specific to what is being served that day. None of that happened, so we instead opted for a bunch of items off of their small plates menu. The service was fast since we were the only ones eating. We ordered fried calamari, tuna ceviche, chicken nachos and the "mac n cheese special" (again, very vague, but it turns out it is simply truffle mac and cheese). The tuna ceviche was awesome, but everything else left us disappointed. The calamari was very bland, and it was served with only a small drizzle of balsamic glaze on the plate. It desperately needed either more seasoning or more glaze. The chicken nachos were generic and the chicken had an odd texture (not sure why these are even on the menu). The mac and cheese was decent, but I couldn't taste any truffle oil. Their computer system was down and the owner refused to accept our coupon, so it took a while for us to pay after we got the bill. I know this place does a lot of banquets, but I don't think they have a huge dinner crowd. Needless to say, I don't recommend it for dinner and I won't be back anytime soon.

The crab martini is a thing of beauty! So delicious!

Love Mohegan! The fact that I live in Baldwinsville is a bonus! Have never had a bad meal here. The vibe is cool and the service is excellent! Jason & Dennis make everyone feel welcome the minute you walk through the door. The sushi is amazing. The crab martini is unbelievable! The basta tasting menu is also superb! 3 courses selected by the chef and paired with wine... How can you go wrong?! You won't be disappointed with the food and service.

The "Asian burger" fries were ordered on the side (no fries were given)

When we were seated, we were immediately greeted by our server who was just as friendly and attentive as the bar staff. The menu isn't very big, but what they do have is very good. There was live entertainment which consisted of a gentleman on the electric piano singing songs. His selection of music was a perfect choice for people enjoying their dinner. Nice soft music and we never felt like we had to make an effort to talk over the music. He also had a wonderful voice and took a request from us to play Louis Armstrong's What a Wonderful World which he absolutely knocked out of the park! The owner stopped by our table a couple of times to check on us and was attentive without being over the top. I'd definitely recommend this place for a nice relaxing meal and some great entertainment on a Friday night. We'll definitely be back.

The restaurant is also available to get to by boat as the site also hosts a marina with slips for both transient boats and seasonal slip rentals. My wife was given a gift card for Skippers for her birthday, and over the weekend, we decided to go use it. It's situated somewhat in a residential neighborhood with a few parking spaces in front of the restaurant. We were sat right away. It was an early dinner for us, around 4PM. There were a couple other tables sat, but the restaurant was mostly open. We asked for an outdoor seat and were brought right back. The inside of the restaurant is large with 2 floors and was very dark inside. We were given our menus. Took a bit for our server to get to us, but no big deal. I ordered the risotto with chicken and a virgin pina colada while my wife got the lobster stuffed haddock with a drink special. As someone who doesn't drink alcohol, I always appreciate a restaurant that offers mocktails. Again, not a ton of tables sat, but it took a bit for us to get our food. Luckily, it was a beautiful day to just sit and look out onto the water. Our food was brought over and we got to it. Portions were large, but we both felt the food was just okay. My risotto had very little flavor, and the chicken was completely unseasoned. My wife said her food was fine, but the onion rings were the stand out of her meal. Our gift card was for $80 and our 2 meals and drinks came to $86. Our server was very friendly, but the service was slow for the amount of people there. Beautiful view on the outside patio, but for us, that was the best part of the experience.

Cute crab shack ambience, it's a hot spot so order or arrive before the dinner crowd. My first visit was a Saturday around 6 and it was crowded and not a seat to be had! I was greeted as I approached the counter and was assisted with my take out and recommended popular party sack combinations. I ordered #3 which includes a lobster tail, one cluster or 1/2 lb snow crab, 1/2 lb shrimp (I recommend requesting Head Off!) a piece of corn, and 2-3 potatoes. I chose Cajun seasoning and, very hot spice. Warning you best be a very spicy hot lover, it was challenging but loved it! Delicious not as over the top as Cajun Hot! $47 and change with the added corn and potatoes. $42 and change without. Only one quarter piece of corn first order and two potatoes. Love it! We were extra excited by what seemed to be their signature dish, steak and mashed potatoes. Well, we had an 8pm reservation, which to me is normal time, but seems to be like a last seating for this restaurant. The place was full upon entering but emptied out quickly during our meal experience. It was just our immediate family of 4. Started with cocktails and proceeded to order the seafood trio app, which was good. Wedge salad, which was also good. Had a nice waitress who had a good sense of humor. The rest went downhill. We all ordered different types of steaks and 3 of 4 medium rare, one NY Strip medium. Ordered a side of Brussel sprouts and some other accompanying sauces. All 3 steaks came out in variations of well done - gross! On an even more disappointing note, we were told there is no more mashed potatoes, which is why we chose this place, and then told only 2 baked potatoes, so we had to decide who gets it and who doesn't. A TERRIBLE thing to happen at a steak restaurant, in addition to ruining what seemed to be quality steaks. The Brussel sprouts came out overly well done drenched in their sauce. Bite into any of them and they were totally deflated and not good. We couldn't even eat it. The waitress came back and asked how things were... my wife's fillet was so over cooked the waitress even agreed and offered to remake. By this time it was almost 9:15 and she lost her appetite. The three of us just didn't mention how ours were because it would have just caused chaos that none of us wanted. We NEVER send back food, but in this case, hers was insanely overcooked. We asked to have it removed from the bill, which they did. Regardless, we dropped $430, including a $70 tip (because I am generous... waitress should have done a lot more for us when noticing the quality of what was served to us) for the 4 of us, with only 3 main meals. Just a real poor experience. I'm hoping this was just an isolated happening, but completely upset it happened to us for my daughter's graduation, son's 25th Bday and our 27th Anniversary. All that weekend. Advice to owner: please ensure you have enough product for your reservations. We were not walk-ins. Then, listen to the customer's request for how they prefer their steaks to be cooked and serve as ordered. 8pm reservation should not make a difference from a 6pm. I'm just really disappointed and wish we went to Ts instead, but liked the idea of smaller and more intimate.
