Large restaurant with room to sit in the bar area or in a more formal dining room. There is event space upstairs. Recently redid their menu and there is a lot of great options. They do sushi on Tuesday and Thursdays. On our recent visit we sat at the bar, the bartender was really nice and attentive. We started with the Brussel sprouts app which was good and then we got a few sushi rolls to share. The sushi was tasty and fresh. Somewhat new to the area. We came once before while a wedding was going on and were so so on it. Came again and it was great. We sat on the pub/lounge side. Next to a fireplace - it was warm and cozy. Appetizers were excellent. A party of four so we enjoyed four to share. The crab cakes had a nice sear and a delicious tartar sauce that was homemade (confirmed this because it was just so tasty!). The tuna was tasty. The shrimp cocktail tasted fresh. The bread platter was great - wish we had more bread as we had leftover oil. Two guests enjoyed sushi - fresh and great presentation. The surf and turf special was excellent. Sweet potatoes and grilled vegetables were tasty. Steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and the lobster was great. The NY strip seemed bigger than 16oz and was also perfectly cooked. Also grilled vegetables and a creamy mashed potato. Only an espresso martini and chocolate lava cake were ordered at dessert time - both delicious! I attended jazz fest last Sunday and really enjoyed myself. It was a shame that more people did not attend. There were four different areas where drinks and food were served. Everything from pizza, shrimp cocktail, and whole dinners were available. I believe these meals were subbed out. The venue was really nice, there was a lot of room in all of the areas. The music was just fabulous. Please support your local musicians, And attend these events. Kudos to Mohegan manner for always supporting life jazz. Free parking is a nice perk. Went here for the first time and I wasn't impressed. We made reservations for dinner, and when we arrived, the entire restaurant was empty. We had to be seated in the bar because the dinner area wasn't even open. It was eerily quiet at first, but luckily someone turned on some background music a half hour in. The entree preparations apparently change daily, so the entree portion of the menu was extremely vague. A few examples: "NY Chicken Entree - Chef's Daily Special," "Boneless Duck - Daily Preparation" and "Clams - Steamed or Daily Option." They also serve various cuts of meat served "naked or with chef's daily sauce." In a higher end restaurant, I would expect a server to let us know what the daily preparations are. Even better, they should print daily menus that are more specific to what is being served that day. None of that happened, so we instead opted for a bunch of items off of their small plates menu. The service was fast since we were the only ones eating. We ordered fried calamari, tuna ceviche, chicken nachos and the "mac n cheese special" (again, very vague, but it turns out it is simply truffle mac and cheese). The tuna ceviche was awesome, but everything else left us disappointed. The calamari was very bland, and it was served with only a small drizzle of balsamic glaze on the plate. It desperately needed either more seasoning or more glaze. The chicken nachos were generic and the chicken had an odd texture (not sure why these are even on the menu). The mac and cheese was decent, but I couldn't taste any truffle oil. Their computer system was down and the owner refused to accept our coupon, so it took a while for us to pay after we got the bill. I know this place does a lot of banquets, but I don't think they have a huge dinner crowd. Needless to say, I don't recommend it for dinner and I won't be back anytime soon. read more

My best friends wedding was here this weekend. I do not even know where to start. When we went to set up the venue, the linens on the table had toast crumbs. A few chairs had big stains on the covers. When lining up in the room next to the ceremony, there were trash bins with dripping water going in. Not what you want while all dressed up; to be dodging drippy roof water. Then when guests were arriving, my mother asked which way to go for the ceremony and the owner Dennis gave her major attitude and told her to follow the signs! For the reception, the food was SLOW. We waited an hour for a cocktail hour. Then, it took like 30 minutes for salads. Following salads and them being cleared, it was another 30 minutes for the buffet to start. I had to ask for guests when food would begin and was met with gruff grunts. The food came out COLD! So cold! I don't understand what took so long and why it would be cold in serving pans. Lastly, the food took so long, there was only about an hour for dancing. It was sad. All the timing was off with no person to make sure it went smoothly. When the couple booked, Dennis told them he would be there to coordinate the day. Turns out that meant him grunting directions from the bar downstairs and not delegating anyone to make sure it went well. Please do not book your wedding here. I was sad for the couple because they paid good money for terrible service and for guests to be treated badly! read more

The food was excellent. Truly fine dining. I had an opportunity to eat here as part of my stay at the associated Airbnb. I am a very accomplished home cook and am not typically thrilled with fine dining experiences but this was excellent. The butternut squash soup was the star of the meal. I will be dreaming about that for months. I also had perfectly cooked scallops and a scrumptious crepe brûlée with a perfect brûlée on top. We decided to give this restaurant a try during baldwinsville dining week. I called 2 and 1/2 weeks ago to make reservations on a Saturday. I was informed that they were closed on Saturday. A red flag immediately should have gone up. I made a reservation for Friday. We arrived this evening 7:00. We had to wait" we're very busy again. Beville dining week 7:20 we were finally seated at our table. Our water glasses were already filled. The water was lukewarm. No ice was in the water. We waited 15 minutes. It's now 7:35 for the waiter to come over. The waiter looked very disheveled and was whistling. He asked us if we wanted anything else to drink besides water. We gave him our drink order 15 minutes later. He comes back with one drink when I inquired where the other drink was. His response was oh let me get it. The drink was brought at that time the order was taken. I told him specifically that I wanted the mushroom salad without the mushrooms and dressing on the side. He repeated that I wanted the house salad. I repeated no mushroom salad. No mushroom dressing on the side. We also ordered the calamari steak to be split and the short rib. Our dinner arrived at approximately 8:30. The salad arrived. Mine was incorrect. Waited another 15 minutes for the salad to be corrected. The appetizer was brought no plates and lukewarm. We were asked where plates were and he brought back the plates. It's now 8:45. We entered at 7:15 to 8:45. The entree was served lukewarm. Best, we finished our mail and requested the check. At no time to the manager come over to our table he had to previous other tables. We paid our bill and left when we walked out. The manager was interested in other clientele rather than us. I came here to celebrate a wedding between two of my very good friends on the first of this very month and came away frustrated, angry and really embarrassed for this establishment. Where do I even begin? On the date of the wedding, Syracuse.com noted that Mohegan Manor failed a New York State Health Inspection ( http://www.syracuse.com/business-news/index.ssf/2017/06/restaurant_inspections_by_the_onondaga_county_health_department_from_may_14_to_2.html ) and it's not hard to see why. During the wedding rehearsal, the bride and groom opted for a cost-effective dinner in the way of pizza, wings and some fruit salad. No, it's not typical for most weddings, but who doesn't want a change of pace with some pizza and wings? The pizza was abhorrently crafted and is best described as woefully bland. When they ran out of pizza it took them 30 more minutes to get another out when they knew there was a whole wedding party there. Have you ever heard of steamed chicken wings? Someone at Mohegan Manor has and served them up, adding to the embarrassment. My girlfriend dumped the food and figured she'd just have some fruit to tide her over until later. Upon sitting down to eat the salad she picked out several moldy bits including a fully blackened strawberry that I wish I still had the picture of. Clearly there's no one doing quality control at this place. The worst bit came with the actual setup for the wedding. Chandeliers missing working light bulbs, clearly undusted areas, one of the worst buffet-style spreads I've ever seen, only two to three waitresses who were expected to help hundreds of people, a bartender that didn't know how to create standard drinks and one of the most unprofessional DJ and minister combos that came recommended from Mohegan Manor I've ever encountered. Since I just talked about the rehearsal food, let's jump into the reception food! When I say one of the worst buffet spreads I've ever seen, I want you to fully understand my meaning. Mohegan Manor had four dishes, each being served for you because they needed portion control since they didn't have enough food to go around. The vegetable medley with the garlic mashed potatoes were probably the best parts, but even then there wasn't anything truly special about either dish. They ran out of the medley about four tables in and I heard the coordinator complain to one of the women working that they really needed to get more going in the back. The herb-rubbed chicken was entirely bland and, worst of all, not fully cooked. Slicing into my chicken portion, the meat was bloody as was the rest of table's. Roast beef was also on the menu and was cooked well done, making it taste like rubber. Needless to say, the food was a complete disgrace. The ceremony room fit everyone comfortably but is in need of some serious renovations. Every single step anyone makes on the top-floor creates a massive creaking noise that drowns out the ceremonial music, which is no small feat. Oh and speaking of music, the DJ recommended by Mohegan Manor was the biggest joke. During the beginning of the actual ceremony, there was some pretty obvious feedback running through the speaker system, which of course with the creaking made for a lovely combo of noises everyone wants during their big day. I looked at him, pointed to my ear and the speakers which seemed to get him realizing what I was saying. He simply turned down the feedback to a 'dull roar' because that was easiest. An expert this one was not. During the rehearsal, the minister was 45 minutes late and had to be called to remind him of what was happening. He showed up in carpenter jeans with clearly a few drinks in him. I even heard him ask for the groom after the ceremony so he could be paid right there and then. Hilariously enough, this minister was paid back in February and didn't pay attention - what a disaster of a man. It's a good thing both my friends getting married are some of the most agreeable people you'll meet (perhaps to a fault) because if this was my affair these people would have been destroyed. I'd like to remind you that this guy was, again, recommended by the Mohegan Manor. There's quite a bit more to tell but I think I've already done enough. Find a different, more cost-effective place to get married and while you're at it, get your food elsewhere too. read more

I wish there was a way to give less than 1 star. My girlfriend and family went here. We sat down in a room of less than 12 people (about 4-5 tables). At first it started pleasantly, however that changed quickly after about 30-45 minutes of negligence. It wasn't until about 1 hour and 15 minutes before we were even asked what we wanted for dinner. Fast forward 1 hour and 15 minutes and our food has not arrived. My family has left because they couldn't believe what was happening. I then tell them I want everything to go because I can't be here any longer and they still takes 15 more minutes (for 2 hamburgers). They bring the check and over charge me, they take it off and I still had to pay way too much. I get home with my to go food and the burger is uncooked there is almost nothing I asked for and it looks awful. I would not recommend this establishment on my worst enemy. I have eaten here on multiple occasions and always leave with the same impressions: 1. The chef thinks he/she is a Michelin starred chef when they don't quite have their taste profiles in order...The food is overly pretentious and not prepared well. 2. The cost is high for what you get. 3. I really like the wait staff, though they can't make up for the lousy food. 4. Instead of creating a fancy sounding menu, you should focus on learning how to cook food properly (e.g. not overly burning a steak you're charging me upwards of $40 for). The food is amazing. However, buyer beware when it comes to hosting events at this establishment. We were told numerous times that they over promise and under deliver. This statement is absolutely 100% correct. Make sure you have everything in writing! We were promised that the staff would help maintain a smooth transition throughout the entire process and it was a nightmare! The week prior to our event (despite paying for services) the OWNER of the restaurant told us that the services would not be provided, nor would we be reimbursed! He stated "not going to happen" while he was on the phone with me and asked for verification through documentation which was then provided. After having to personally walk into the establishment and provide proof the service was in fact paid for and in our contract- it was then provided. The service provided was poorly executed and ill directed causing confusion for all of our guests. The photog team they have there provided a service that was below average: the photos were poor quality and they were turning away our guests after only 2 hours of use. Our contract stated 2:30-4:30 and we weren't able to utilize until 3 as we were poorly guided and directed through out the day. My make up artist who was on premise and of Arabic decent was asked by the manager if she spoke English while she was doing my make up because she didn't respond to an off color joke made by the staff. Promised champagne for a toast- never got one! My glass as a bride was basically empty the entire day- meaning I had two drinks throughout an 8 hour day without being asked once for a refill. The liquor requested (malibu) wasn't available. Guests were treated poorly by staff. The mob is vegan and was treated poorly as she requested a vegetable substitute. Staff was indulging in food and drinks while supposedly working. Staff hit on and picked up one of my bridesmaids. Despite the entire contract being signed and email by owner and manager they tried to charge extra for drink prices and nickel and dimed us on the day of our wedding. Our bill was more than expected even thought negotiation and meetings were held and agreed upon 10 days before hand. We were promised center pieces and the day of the wedding the staff tried to use my bridal party bouquets as center pieces! I asked managers specifically if i should go through with flower orders and was told not to as they would handle everything. The business owner called me while I was getting ready the morning of my wedding and stated that he would no longer be providing this service and then proceeded to hang up on me. We were then abruptly approached by a gentleman who asked us if we were there for dinner and if we had a reservation. He seemed annoyed. No 'hello' or 'welcome'. The pints of beer were good, normal pints of beer. The burger he had was good and the sushi we shared was enjoyable. I gave 2 stars for those. However the salad I ordered was heavily salted and inedible. AND the water we were served tasted fishy!!! It was so gross. I shutter to think how it got that way. Horrible. Overall, the appalling customer service and disappointing food has chased us from Mohegan Manor again. There are many other establishments where I would rather spend my hard earned money. read more

For Thanksgiving my family went here 2 years in a row and both times it was perfect. The menu was complete. The turkey was done perfectly for our entire party and the dressing was a big hit. We went for Mother's Day brunch. We had reservations for seating at 2:00, which was nearly the latest seating. First off, it was a madhouse. Everyone with a 2:00 reservation arriving at the same time, no one knows where to go, no one is there to check you in. Everyone standing hot and sweaty at the top of the stairs, wondering where a hostess is. We did get seated by 2:15, so that ended up ok. Now there's no one telling you how it works, offering coffee, taking drink orders or anything. You just get plunked at your table. So we start venturing around, and... The sushi table was empty and was never replenished. Empty water pitchers which weren't filled for 40 minutes. No clean glasses or plates at some stations. No bartender for 15 minutes. The tail end of the roast beef. Quickly ran out of bacon. Desserts gone in 15 minutes and not replenished. Waffles that were hard as a rock, must have been cooked earlier in the day. It was just awful. My husband complained toward the end. The owner must have known there were problems, because he offered to comp our whole party of six. We did pay a very reduced amount in the end, but that gesture is the only reason this review got two stars instead of one. We've always had great service and food at this restaurant, but I would never, ever go for brunch again. read more

My first visit to Mohegan was for a christening celebration dinner that was magnificent! My second visit, not so much. First things first, Mohegan is not a kid-friendly establishment in the ballroom. The stairs are extremely steep and there's nothing blocking them off. It was nerve-wracking worrying about my 17-month-old getting away from me and falling down the stairs. However, that's just the nature of the establishment and a note to those whose events include young children. The room was also extremely warm. So warm that it seems the cake and some of the candy melted. As for the food, it was quite good in my opinion, particularly the waffles and cheese blintzes. I do wish they had little labels for what food was what, just so folks would know. It seemed a few didn't know if there was meat in the pasta or what the blintzes were filled with. I also really wish they had larger plates. I can usually get enough for my daughter and I on one plate, but these were barely salad plates so it took some finagling. My biggest complaint - and this to me is enough to leave me with a negative review - is that there wasn't water on the table, and the single pitcher of water left on the back table was rarely refilled. That was rather frustrating to me. Toward the end of the day, they brought water to the tables. At that point, it seemed like an afterthought. The staff were very kind to my daughter and I, though it felt a little bit like we were being rushed and I ended up putting some food on the table itself because they wanted to take the plates. I left an hour before the rest of the guests, so it wasn't an issue of cleaning up at the end. All in all, it seems there's some inconsistency at Mohegan. I am personally very picky about details, and Mohegan has a nice tone overall, but isn't about the details. That's something you need for special events. read more

My wife and I were married here last week. The ceremony was held on the 3rd floor and the reception was on the 2nd floor. Laura, our coordinator, was amazing. Everything went on without trouble. The decore was very simple but elegant, just what we wanted. The food was delicious and the drinks were as well. After our time on the 2nd floor was up, we were given the 1st floor to continue our party. I can't say enough good things about Dennis (the owner) and Mohegan Manor. When my then-fiancee and I were looking for places to have a nice family meal following our wedding, we considered Mohegan Manor. While discussing it with Dennis, he suggested having the actual ceremony there, and offered us a private room. We signed up for the sushi club, as this allowed us the use of Mohegan Manor's limo. On our wedding night, the driver (who was wonderful) picked us up and brought us to the restraurant. Dennis had set up a beautiful private room in the back for us, which was the perfect setting for a nice, small ceremony. The staff was wonderful, the food excellent. I can't tell you how much better the wedding experience there was than what we had originally planned. Since then, we have eaten at Mohegan Manor frequently. Usually we eat in the sushi area downstairs, where Andrew takes great care of us. The sushi is always fantastic (try the southwest roll!), the drinks great, and the rest of the food is excellent as well. Highly recommended. read more

This is definitely the best fine dining in the Syracuse area. Outstanding service and engagement from the staff and the owner. My wife and I had sushi appetizers that were hands down the best I've ever had. The entree's were beautifully prepared filets and we chose the soup instead of salads which were light and perfectly seasoned. Prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food. 5 Stars all the way and it was great to see they had a great alternative menu for a family with children that wouldn't necessarily like fine dining. read more

This will be my first Yelp review and I would like to point out a few things. First its been a little over a year since we have been here, not that we wouldn't like to go more often, but we simply cant afford to eat here every week, month, etc... However out of any fine restaurant my wife and I have ever been too "The People" at Mohegan Manor make this byfar the best dining experience possible!!!! We have been here about 5-6 times over the past 5 or so years and its always a new and great experience every time we walk through the door. It always starts with a nice sit down at their VERY CLEAN Bar and the Bartender is very knowledgeable about what type of drink we would like to enjoy. Even from the simplest of beers to the mixed drinks and our sometimes wine selection, he always aims to please the palet :) Then its on to our dinner reservation where we sit down in a VERY COZY room and the tables are JUST far enough away from each other where we (my wife and I) can enjoy each others time. Our server is ALWAYS on point with helping us select the BEST appetizers and/or Sushi. Then he always helps us to pick our main entree and works with us to make sure we are extremely satisfied (WHICH WE always are)... Usually we are too full at this point but then he brings us a nice desert to finish off the meal..... The owner Dennis is always there to say Hello as well and make sure EVERYONE at his establishment is enjoying themselves! I will say you should plan on spending a few extra bux while here BUT its definitely always worth every penny. I ordered a pasta dish with shrimp and chicken -the pasta cream sauce was horrible and the chicken was thighs and was disgusting. Here we go baby... My wife and i went to Mohegan Manor for sushi on a Saturday afternoon, just as it opened. We ordered the $35 sushi platter which stated a total of 32 pieces of sushi and shashimi. We sat down and had a few drinks while our order was being prepared. We sat on a couch in the back of the bar waiting for our sushi to arrive. We were very excited since we had heard Mohegan Manor had delicious sushi. It finally arrived. Although the sushi was good, it was seven pieces short. I talked to the bartender who had taken our order. He was apologetic. He notified the sushi chef who came bolting up the stairs to the bar and began telling me that he had not made a mistake. The menu was printed with an error and that if I wanted my seven additional pieces I would be required to pay for the $45 sushi plate. As a customer, I only can order what the menu states. If a menu is printed with errors the restaurant ought to take responsibility for this error otherwise, reprint a correct menu which I, and other diners, may order from. The sushi chef became more belligerent on this discussion point. I had to walk away. He proceeded to berate my wife. The most amazing thing in this saga, even more upsetting than being shorted sushi and being scolded by the sushi chef for their own error was seeing the Mohegan Manor's owner, Dennis Sick, watching the argument unfold before his eyes while sitting at the end of the bar and doing absolutely nothing. It was disgusting. The bartender and waitress acted as the mediators; however, they could not do anything to override the arrogant, mistaken sushi chef. I asked the waitress if that was the owner at the end of the bar. She said, "Yes." I asked her to get him for me. She did right away. Dennis came over. I told him I did not want to complain about the sushi nor the poor treatment we received from the mouth of the sushi chef that Dennis witnessed first hand. My complaint, I told him was "how can a restaurant owner sit at the end of the bar and do nothing while a customer had a legitimate grievance and was glaringly being mistreated by a staff member. I explained that such irresponsibility was disgusting, and that my wife and I would not be coming back. Moreover, we will tell all our friends, neighbors, colleagues, and customers. My suggestion is for NO ONE TO GO TO THE MOHEGAN MANOR, EVER! there is much beter sushi to be had at the Ocean Sushi on route 57 in Liverpool next to Starbuck's across from Bayberry Plaza. It is the best. The owners truly appreciate your business and treat the diners with respect and quality service. read more

I've been to Mohegan Manor a few times, but this was by far the worst. This time, I purchased a groupon and after following the directions explicitly listed on the groupon offer- make a reservation, pull up the groupon voucher in the app OR print it out, my party arrived at the time of our reservation. When we walked in, a sign by the stairwell (which led to an extremely loud wedding with no barrier for sound pollution) told us to see the host to be seated. The music in the dining room was turned up so loudly to cover the noise from upstairs that I couldn't hear the other two people with me at the table. After walking in and out of the bar multiple times looking for the host, we were finally noticed by a man at the bar, who appears to be named Dennis. He wasn't what you would call pleasant when he greeted us, but we were seated fairly quickly, albeit aggressively asked for our drink order twice within 30 seconds of sitting down. Our server was attentive and the food was good, but came slowly from the kitchen for a half-empty dining room. The upsetting part of the meal was after it was over, when I told our waiter that we had a groupon for part of our bill. I then pulled up the voucher on my phone and told him that he was welcome to take it if he needed to record my voucher number, etc. This is standard practice at literally every establishment I have redeemed a groupon in. Abruptly, Dennis came over and told me I couldn't use it because I didn't have it printed. I told him that I would have happily printed it out if the instructions had told me to, but as they gave me the choice I had opted to not waste paper. He then implied that there was no way that they could let me use it because I could just use it again, which is rude and ridiculous as there is a button on the screen to mark the groupon as used and if he had bothered to look at it he would have realized that. After he argued with me in the middle of the restaurant, he tried to tell me that he didn't even know how much the voucher was for so he couldn't honor it. I looked it up in groupon to show him the value, something it really seems like he should already know. He even said something ridiculous along the lines of "so what, do I owe you money now?" He finally told me to take a screenshot of the voucher and email it to him, something that should have been the first and only thing he had to say about the matter, if anything at all. Don't offer groupons if you don't understand how they work and you're going to be rude to people who use them. The experience was absolutely dreadful and we will not be back. Response: there are only two groupons available, the one I purchased and one for a wedding. Yet another case of misinformation. I was also never directed to a wireless printer, nor did we ask to have the sub-par bottle of wine removed, it was simply done as a (standard) courtesy, and a substitute was ordered and paid for. There is also no way of knowing that two people walking in are the members of a three person reservation, and this doesn't excuse the lack of (yet again, standard) courtesy that is to be expected in this type of establishment. I really wanted to like Mohegan Manor; I received a gift certificate here and was excited to use it. I went there on Wednesday night specifically for their sushi special; we got there around 6:20p. We were immediately seated and greeted by a very friendly hostess. Once seated, we were asked if we'd like to place a drink order. There were no menus on the table so we had to wait for our server to bring over a wine list. The wine prices were a tad high, but overall they had a decent selection. Once we got our menus we promptly decided on sushi entrees and ordered. It took 40 MINUTES+ to get our food, then when it did, we didn't get our appetizer, until I asked them to forget about it, and then they brought it after we'd already gotten our entrees. We ordered 3 sushi dishes and an appetizer. Our server was semi apologetic and was not in communication until after 25 min about the delay of our meals. He did buy us a round of drinks for our inconvenience, but even after he stopped over and said the food would be "just a few more minutes" it was another 15 min. The food was very good and creative. His excuse was the kitchen was very busy with a large party and there were 2 kitchens, one for sushi and one for other meals; regardless, they didn't care or weren't aware of the opinions we were forming by having to wait for our food that long. Unfortunately the good food was not enough to ever bring me back here. To top off our experience, when I paid with the gift certificate they couldn't give me any cash back, so our bill was around $40 and they kept the remaining $35 that my gift certificate had left on it. They said because it was a paper gift certificate they couldn't give cash back even though it said nothing about a one-time only use on the certificate. They asked if I'd like to use the certificate another time, but I let them know I'd never be returning. This place is charming and the food is good, but the service is adequate and a 40 minute + wait for food is inexcusable. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. read more

My friend ordered sushi with her credit card. The waiter and bartender forgot to give her credit card back. She asked them to look for the card multiple times and they accused her of losing it. They eventually found her card after waiting for over 30 minutes. Our friend's husband spoke to the owner. He was not very apologetic or receptive of the complaint. Let me start by saying this place is super cool with gorgeous ambiance...very romantic and historical and good vibes! We went and had SUPER service- the food was very very good. $11 for a glass of wine- well that was one big glass so don't let the price fool you. Worth the trip to have good fine dining. My fiancé and I visited last week to celebrate an important work milestone for him. We arrived a few minutes before our 6:30 reservation. We were seated quickly, albeit in the bar area. It took nearly 15 minutes before we were offered water/saw our server and 30 minutes to just get a glass of wine. At one point, two gentlemen who appeared to be owners or managers were talking with another server and they were all agreeing, loudly in front of several customers, that "nobody has any clue what's going on. It's a cluster tonight." Our server, while very sweet, was clearly overwhelmed. At no point did anyone offer her any help- the same two men just chatted away and doted over other customers around the bar. We tried the Basta experience, a 6 course tasting menu. By 8:00 we had only had our first course and quite truthfully, were bored and annoyed by the loudness in the bar area. The person running the water, oil and bread brought us oil- but we waited 10 minutes for bread and finally had to ask. At no point did the managers stop by our table (despite our clearly frustrated faces), but they made sure to speak to every other person there. It felt quite like we were being ignored- apparently our $130 check was not important enough. Both of us have served so we understand that every place has rough nights, but this was beyond an "off" night for the front of the house. The saving grace was that the food was good - in need of refinement- but good. They need to focus on creating a profile for themselves and not try to do so many things because they're losing the "fine dining" feel. We believe in supporting local businesses and will always give praise when it's due. It takes a lot for me to write a negative review, but unfortunately, by 7:15pm, we both knew we wouldn't be back. After returning from Stowe, VT we wanted to continue our "vacation" for one more day even though we were home. Wow, this was the absolute best meal I had in a week. Plus the staff and owner Dennis were so attentive - they came and moved us from the porch when the mosquitoes came out. But the porch was lovely and a great getaway on our "pretend" vacation. This is fine dining that I have never experienced in Syracuse. The sushi appetizer we had was amazing. It had the crunch of jalepeno without too much heat. (I can't remember the name of the roll - it's the last one on the list!) The sauce was lick the plate good. The salad had a balsamic dressing that almost tasted like ceasar salad dressing. The corn and tomato made the salad fresh and delish! But the star of the meal was the steak and braised short rib dinner. Wow. The short ribs melted in my mouth and the steak was perfectly cooked. The sauce was so tasty - i was dipping everything on my plate in it. I'm pretty sure that plate came back clean! We also had the mojitoes which was filled with local mint and lots of lime. If you are looking for an impressive fine dining experience in the northern suburbs this is it. A perfect spot for a date or if relatives are coming into town. It is comfy cuisine in Baldwinsville! TERRIFIC evening started out w/Baldwinsville' s Michelin culinary delight "Mohegan Manor." The intimate ambience sets the stage . The food is savory. Pork tenderloin melted, penned w/vodka sauce never one of my favorites was delicious. Eggplant w/basta meatballs out of this world. Salad w/house dressing light & perfection. The calamari appetizer unlike any I've ever had. And then what a treat as we walked a few steps up the street to see BTG's 'Jekyll & Hyde which was extremely enjoyable! read more

Had sushi here Wednesday night for a couples night out with my wife. The place was busy. The sushi chef was working hard and making excellent, creative and tasty sushi. The selection of rolls runs from the basics like California roll, or spicy tuna roll and moves to more interesting combinations, like the Jason Roll, Mohegan Roll, and many more. The price of the sushi may be a bit more than some other places in town, but the flavors are great and they are good sized. I feel they are for the most part bigger rolls than some of the less expensive places, justifying the price of a few dollars more. I always like the wine selection and service of Cosmo the bartender. We finished the night by sharing a slice of the Italian lemon cake, and it was fantastic. The best dessert I have had in a long time..lightly sweet, light in texture, a bit of lemon flavor and a very light layer of cream in the center...really enjoyed it. read more
