This club was terrible. It is so tiny- no dance floor at all. There are tons of tables that get super packed - I mean like 30 people per table- it's ridiculous. Clearly this club caters to people silly enough to spend an obscene amount of money on bottle service/vip. If you're looking to have a few drinks and dance - stay away! It's nearly impossible to grab a drink from the bar because it's so crowded- and like i mentioned before, there's no dance floor. The fact that this club attempted to use horses as part of their entertainment is so absurd !! Google it! This place should have been shut down permanently for that stunt. Zero stars. read more

This is the worst night club I've ever been in. If it would be possible I would give 0 stars instead of one. Though there is no entrance fee the music is awful and the customer service is even worse. I waited for almost 50 minutes to get the check and as it turned out the system was not accepting credit cards at the time. So I had to withdraw from their ATM to get cash and was charged $5.95 extra for that. I would never recommend to go this club, there is a plenty of other nice clubs in Miami and Miami beach. This place is extremely prejudiced against black women. When two of my friends and I were in line, who are black, we quickly found that the only girls allowed in were white or lighter skinned. This was all hype and no substance - as an open-minded person who has partied in various clubs internationally and can find fun in all different types of venues - this was rather boring. Homogeny was king in this club and the "house" music was soulless and uninspiring. There was nothing different, nothing fun, and it lacked the promise of the spicy, sexy South Beach vibe I found at other places like partying on the breathtaking rooftop at Gansevoort South Beach or enjoying tantalizing poetry followed by a sizzling DJ at Santos. I went last night the music was horrible, they over charge my credit card 3 times for the wrong total, then I call and they said that they will fixed in a few days, the doormen was very rude. I'll start out by saying I lived in South Florida for 5 years before moving back to Los Angeles 21 months ago and have been back 6 times already. I'm very familiar with the nightlife in South Beach as I was a regular in this area. Now if you're a guy or girl, you definitely need to come check out Mokai Lounge!!! OMFG!!! We went on Mokai Mondays and the quality of women on this day and the exclusivity of this venue makes this place one of a kind. The front door is very strict so make sure you have a table or know someone. If you are fortunate enough to gain entrance, you will be amazed by the countless models that come in and out. This place has nothing but bombshells and dimes from different countries so fellas make sure you are on your "A" game. The entire Mokai bar staff was simply AMAZING!!! Each bartender was gorgeous and made sure that each cocktail was on point. I highly recommend Madison as she made our drinks for most of the night. She was by far the best looking bartender and the most talented in making adult beverages. The next time I come to Mokai, I'm definitely going straight to Madison for my cocktails. She had a great vibe and made our visit very memorable. Our drinks were generously made with plenty of alcohol and kept us coming back for more. Thank you again Madison you're the best! The lounge was definitely set up for tables and bottle popping. They have a nice sized bar on one side and then an elevated DJ area on the other side. In between the 2 sides, they have tables and then a few extra adjacent to the middle. There is a decent sized area for dancing and getting your groove on with others. There is also a large patio area to get fresh air, mingle, drink, smoke, and enjoy the feeling of being at an exclusive venue in South Beach. This place goes to the early morning around 5am. Overall, I give this place a solid "A" rating for quality of women and drinks as well as the ambiance and music. I had a great time and will be coming back in the near future. read more

My best friend and I were visiting Miami for the weekend. I'm coming from NY and she came in from SanDiego. We were dressed really nice and we both are very respectful adults. Anyhow the bouncer wasn't that rude, though he kept us waiting(there was no line) and others that walked up got right in. Then comes some guy and he actually is Cuban, but I feel he doesn't want to portray that, and he is super awful. He asks us if we're on a list and we weren't so then he says he'll only let us in if we are going to buy a bottle. A $500 bottle! I point out how others are simply being let in and we obvs were there to spend $ on drinks, but he only replies with the club is very famous and only promoters etc can come in. A friend we met there is already inside and texting that there is room etc. We tell the little man (with the Napoleon syndrome) that our friend is already inside, but he continues to snub his nose at us. Our friend comes out to speak with him and got kicked out! This place is ridiculous! We went to a really nice club after that and got in no problem- there was a door fee, but they just let us in. I'm from NY and I never heard of this place until we got to Miami, I even told "little rude man" in Spanish seeing as he was Cuban. He completely understood me and just kept replying in English. We were definitely discriminated on at this club. What a shame... and I could otherwise have written such a nice review. read more

I chose to spend the night of my birthday here after a promoter invited us off our pics on Instagram. HUGE mistake. I came with my friend and sister (all 3 attractive girls) and I have never been shown so much disrespect. I was shoved out of the way by a bus boy when they were walking a bottle out. I pushed him back and he pushed me and got in my face. Are you serious? My friends who were with me and I all work in clubs in Vegas. We know how it is when you have to move your way through a crowd but that was something else. I've never had a man put his hands on me, let alone square up to me and get in my face. I wanted to leave then but since it was already 3am and there's not many options to choose from, we decided to stay. Later on, we were standing by the bar with our backs to the VIP and the waitress who was sitting and drinking with her guests, taps me on the shoulder and asks us to move. I was so confused? We weren't anywhere in the VIP area and there's only two places to stand in this tiny ass club. Either by the bar or the dance floor. So I'm assuming she felt threatened bc her guests had their eyes on us the whole night. Thank you Mokai for my shitty experience. We'll go back to Vegas and do it right in a proper club. read more

I am a Miami resident and have been to Mokai before but I was turned away from this venue some years ago and have not been back since. Doorman did not let me in because I was wearing flats. He stated "You're a woman. You should know better". I came across Set Nightclub and reserved bottle service for September 16th with a girl named Krissy at Set. We got to Miami on the 14th but on the 16th we heard through the locals Set Nightclub was closed. We contacted Krissy and she said she had moved us to Mokai "Nightclub" she never mentioned lounge. She said it's a connected club to Set same owners and same atmosphere. We showed up a whole 13 of us and we're told they can't accommodate a large party. She wouldn't answer but then they finally got a hold of her they worked with us. The place is small and filled with smoke. We got our table the only thing I have positive to say about this place is the DJ that night was awesome. Other than that the people that work there are rude, it's unorganized, bouncer are dicks, and its small. We were literally the only people left outside and they still would not let us in.The bouncers went all around the rope and let in every white person but never let us in because we were one Hispanic female and two African American females. Got there at 1am on a Monday night/ Tuesday morning. Can't say what it looks like but outside looks pretty hip which is only reason I'm being nice and giving 2 stars. I went it 2 of my girlfriends and after waiting a half hour, we saw that only people who were oozing money (there was a Bentley in the parking lot) and personally knew the owner/ were regulars were getting in, so we left. Even someone who was on the guestlist and sounded like reserved a VIP table had trouble getting in. WOW I am utterly disgusted whenever I go places where people can still SMOKE indoors. I'm used to the WA state laws that bans all smoke indoors. Besides that, my friend and I went to Mokai Lounge on a Monday night and was surprised that it didn't even open until like 11:30 PM! So we made friends with a promoter at a bar across the street and when Mokai opened he got us in for free (score)! The inside was pretty S&M looking, with swings hanging from the ceiling, posters and videos of porn, and there was even a small little room with a porn video showing on the way to the restroom. Kind of disturbing, but I went with it. Next on the list, drinks. HOLY COW I was completely thrown off by how much the drinks were. My friend ordered a vodka soda and it was $20 that's right $20 for a freaking drink! So I decided then and there to NOT order and alcohol. Once people started showing up, the room became really claustrophobic, I mean, there really isn't anywhere to sit or to even dance! There are areas where you can have bottle service, but I've heard that it's very spendy. I really didn't like the smoke because everyone was smoking. When I left, I smelled like an ashtray.
