I just had the BEST and largest fish taco I have ever seen and eaten. My brother, Roger, brought it as he had filled up on one and had been given 2 this day. He's a regular. Pros: Free chips and salsa. Service: Service was a little slow, and they didn't refill my water. Overall: I thought this place was good for the price. The salsa was fresh and had a nice spicy to it. Used to come here a lot but the staff has become unhelpful and the food has become inconsistent. The menu prices are different all over the place from online to in the restaurant and the "street tacos" are way overpriced at over two dollars. I will order the same thing one day and it will come dressed very well and packaged appropriately, the next day it'll be wrapped up in tinfoil and taste totally different. The place only had two other occupied booths when we arrived around 12:30 on a Saturday...took about 10 mins before the server materialized and came over to give us menus. Hubby's burrito is huge and stuffed, but the meat seemed to be low quality and he had quite a bit of gristle that he pulled out of his burrito. The carnitas are SUPER dry...and oddly crispy. They gave me a tiny bit of rice and a ton of beans. I specifically said no beans. Server lady remains invisible for a long time. By the time she came back we were almost done eating, so no sense complaining. She asked hubby if he wanted a refill. He says yes. She takes his cup and never returns. The carne asada wet burrito is amazing, big enough to feed two people. The carne is tender and flavorful, they don't skimp on the meat portion either. We have enjoyed the food at Molcajete Grill in both Westminster and Huntington for over 5 years. But when I walked into the Westminster site last Thursday to pick up take out, neither the waitress or the cook were wearing masks or gloves. The waitress did put her mask on when I walked in the door. I was very disappointed in their disregard for COVID 19 guidelines. They had the appearance of compliance with the tables closed and a plastic screen at check out area but the real story was told by the unmasked, ungloved personnel.
