From my initial contact with…read moreDaisy in the office, to the workers, to the supervisors (Evan for the waterproofing of our roof and removal of damaged drywall, and Frankie, for the interior finishing), to the owners of the company, we knew we were in good hands. We had a giant, colossal leak in our ceiling when it rained last winter. Absolute Maintenance performed a detailed and technical evaluation to determine the exact causes and locations of our leaks. We were surprised to find that our chimney was one of the sources! Then they waterproofed our entire roof and HVAC system which is on our roof. Both have been a source of leaks for several years, and we had never been able to find the root causes of all that! Finally, they set up a carefully sealed area to remove damaged drywall, do mold remediation and reconstruction.b In doing all of this, they found rotting wood that had undoubtedly been there for several years! The very next day, they had the rotting 2'x 4's removed and replaced! That was amazing! After that, they installed new drywall and painted the entire room and ceiling. All of this huge job was done by them, without the need to find other contractors. Not only that, they are for sure, the most tidy and neat workers we have ever had in our house. They honestly left our living room in better shape than they found it! The best part about this company was their communication. The day I called them, Daisy was able to explain their scope of practice in detail and tell me if they would be able to help us. She continued to find answers for me whenever I had a question throughout the job, even staying late at the office until she had an answer for me! Evan was great at communication, also. Every single day that they worked, he told me exactly what they would be doing. Frankie did the same, keeping me apprised of what they were doing and always when they would be finished. The owners gave us a detailed evaluation of our problem and a very detailed estimate, including costs for unforeseen problems. This helped us immensely in budgeting for this job, but they were very reasonable and this cost us far less than we expected. It's scary and depressing to find out you have mold in your house. They told us we had the wrong size flooring, so we ordered the correct size. When they came back on the scheduled day after we had our client leave their home for hours the tech (James) suddenly said they couldn't do the job and left, acting concerned about the location, with no real explanation. At no point before this did anyone say it was a "maybe" job; they repeatedly confirmed they could do it. That is misleading and feels dishonest. After wasting weeks, they then owner suggests us to buy more flooring (which we don't need for such a small patch) and said they'd refer a "wood specialist," but refused to properly explain the scope to him and wanted me to start the whole process over again. In short: they dragged this out for weeks, gave us wrong guidance, backed out after confirming the job, inconvenienced our client, and then tried to pass us off instead of taking responsibility. I would not recommend this company for any flooring work, especially detailed repairs.

They quoted $8,000 for one handyman (changing several door handles and door hinges, installing a ceiling light and switch, shaving the top of a door, partial grouting of two showers, relocating a small kitchen wall cabinet to a different wall, minor painting, sealing an outdoor light, etc.) using mostly my materials (hinges, switches, light, door handles). Only after work started was I informed that they had scheduled 4 days at my home (equating to $2,000 per day). They did not share this info in advance because they are task-based (but still estimated it would take 4 full days). Also, of the 4 scheduled days, 2 reschedules occurred due to their personnel issues. On the last day, I intended to go through the checklist of work, discuss possible future work, and to ask for assistance in properly measuring 2 doors for replacement. However, the handyman arrived late, and noted that he was in a rush to depart for a medical appointment.
