After leaving a late-night event, I had a hankering for pizza! It was 11:30 pm on a Saturday and was happy to find this place open. They had a few different styles of pizza available and they were NY style. Yum! I had trouble deciding so I grabbed a slice of cheese pizza and a slice white pizza. I enjoyed both slices. But my favorite was the white pizza for sure! There is limited seating available ... I think one booth. It's more of a takeout place. I wish it were closer to my house so I could try more items but I enjoyed my midnight snack passing thru! read more

Chicken Fingers and Fries were beyond disgusting. The grease was terribly old, the fingers burned and full of grease, the breading falling off, the fries limp and barely fried and the taste of the oil was sickening. Definitely a waste of $20 bucks. Will not be back. read more

Super impressed with how the pizza is made here! Filled with flavor and made with the perfect amount of cheese! But my true favorite dish were the wings. Typical quick pizza shop. They have slices for a quick pick up. Service was nice, store was clean. Was very hot inside... they need to fix their a/c situation. They can't just expect to keep the fire open to use as a vent. The pizza was however was for a quick pick me up... it was not something to look forward to, or want to go to. This is something to pick up late at night when all else fails. It lacked flavor and there was so much grease and cheese it was almost hard to eat. If you're seeing this, it's a sign to try their subs. After almost 8 years, I finally explored that side of the menu. I ordered a steak sub, and ho-ly shit! Mind blown! I placed an order online through the Slice app. I realized I used the wrong form of payment and tried to change it, but Slice was unable to contact Gino's I called Gino's ,twice the girl answer the phone , said we're not excepting phone orders at this time and hung up on me both times. I wanted to cancel my order and just change the form of payment. So that was completely rude to begin with. My order was supposed to be here at one time they pushed it back. When my crappy pizza did show up, it was just like I said, crappy and cold. It taste like frozen pizza that you get from 7-Eleven except 7-Eleven pizza is actually better. The french fries are the small kind what you did not specify, and they are so stale. It's unbelievable. I will never be ordering from this place again. My whole dinner is a joke. $40 for crap !! Buffalo pizza is definitely one of a kind style pizza. Tons of dough, lot of cheese, spicy pepperoni and very heavy. This pizza is a great change of pace! I have been in Buffalo for over a decade and this is one of the few New York style pizzas that I have enjoyed. Sauce is on the sweeter side. Dough was thin, excellently cooked and traditional pepperoni. Ordered takeout online for a XL with pepperoni, two ranch add ons and the total came to about $30 which is on the expensive side for pizza in Buffalo. Can't quite describe the sauce flavor, but it made me think of a BBQ. The wings were good in size as well. I ate it way before I could take a pic bc I was hungry and this za is DANG DELICIOUS!!! I've had Ginos a few times and every time it POPS TF OFF. NY style pizza and Neapolitan are my favs and Gino's is prepping that NY style right and with that NY style price too... 2 cheese slices came to $3.60 and damn they were triangles of perfection! The crust has the French baguette taste and quality while being true to NY style thinness with tons of flavour and the floppy end. The sauce is well balanced and seasoned with tang that is not too sweet or acidic, flecks of herbs ringing through and not in an overwhelming amount (I don't like a lot of sauce so this is perfect) The cheese is the ringer, thick and melty with a pull that will go the distance from the slice to your mouth. It's a SOLID quality cheese blend too, not to greasy and incredibly flavourful. Little dicey pizza shop in what used to be somebody's house. Looks like they ripped out the living space, left the breakfast nook and made everything else kitchen. Couple tables inside and a couple tables on the sidewalk. Pizzas on display in the case, pick what you want and get it re-blasted to eating temperature in 3.5 minutes. Grab a couple sodas with that and relax out front. My deep dish buffalo wing slice was quite interesting with a real blue cheesey base, white cheese top and plenty of hot orange saucey chicken in between. MLB nods approvingly to the cheese... "not sure what temperature is but it's the right temperature for eating. Oily but not too oily, tip it away so you don't mess yourself." Kudos for using real garlics on the knots, they'd be fine for anyone who uses normal portions. read more

I've always been a fan of Gino and Joes and I've always drove by this place and wanted to try it. This couldn't have been any further from the pizza I got at Gino's or any NY style pizza. There was about 3 lbs of low quality oily cheese and if zoom in you can tell by the way the pepperonis were just dropped on this pizza that no one cared about quality at this place. However it is right in the middle of the Elmwood hipster college party District close to Buffalo State, and its open super late at night, so they get more business than 54 of the 57 afro mentioned better slices in town. Easily my favorite slice of pizza spot in Buffalo. While I'm a firm believer of there could be more pizza places throughout the Elmwood and Allen area, the selections we do have help to give a slice to everyone's personal preference. While I never truly cared for "NY style" pizza, Gino's has helped to shift my perception on this. The location is super convenient. It's perfectly located on Elmwood and the Bidwell area which is prime for a ton of foot traffic. The location itself is compact. It's not the greatest place for eating-in but they do give you a few additional seats outside the place. Again, it's compact so the inside seating tends to heat up with you sitting so close to the kitchen area - especially in the winter when the the main door is not constantly opening back and forth. Ironically, my favorite slice is the deep dish buffalo chicken. Much different than the thinner NY style slices they have. They do offer tons of different styles for you to choose so there's no lack of variety there for you picky eaters. My only qualm is the pricing is a bit higher than the other local pizza places. Nonetheless, I'll always choose Gino's over the rest of them simply due to their abundance of styles of pizza and being flat out great pizza. read more

Gino's slices don't bring me back to NYC, but they're decent. They deliver to my apartment, have online ordering right on their own website, plus our delivery arrived early. At least on the Greek pizza, the crust isn't quite right if it's supposed to be NYC-style. The end crust is too thin and crisp, and the crust under the toppings is a little too thick. The Greek pizza has a ton of toppings, though, so maybe they make the crust thicker so it doesn't get soggy from all the veggies. I'll have to try another pizza with fewer toppings at some point to see if the crust thickness is better. The husband appreciates that honey mustard is a sauce choice for Gino's chicken fingers, though we're not sure why getting sauce on the side instead of on the fingers warrants an extra 50-cent charge. No complaints about the mozzarella sticks, though I can't say I've ever met a mozzarella stick I didn't like. read more

Gino's is the best "New York style" pizza in Buffalo and has the BEST chicken fingers around! (they are huge and crispy) If you're from NYC, or have a favorite NYC pizza place, this won't be the best pizza you've ever had, but it is NY style thin crust and still very tasty. If "NY style" is your thing, then this is a solid option. But the slices aren't as big as typical NY style I've had in NYC. It's not getting a low rating from me bc it sucks, it's just not the style i like. Give me that thicker crust with cup n char pepperoni, Buffalo Style for me please! I'm completely obsessed with this pizza... I'm almost (just almost) sad that it's so close to home, because I've gotten it three times since discovering it last month. This is definitely a far cry from the ultra-doughy Buffalo pie with its grease-filled pepperoni cups () and I could not be happier. I love nice thin, chewy crust underneath that puffs out around the edges. Honestly, I haven't had any better pizza in the Buffalo area than Gino's. And the prices aren't bad either! I recently paid $35 for a house (XL) pie and 20 wings. That size pizza typically comes cut in 8 huge slices but the guy I placed the order with offered to cut it in 16, which was such a good call, and it was the perfect amount of food for 4 very hungry adults and two kids. I have been ordering BBQ chicken pizza for years from the Gino's in the Main Place Mall. I figured it would be the same food as they are affiliated with each other. I was wrong. Instead of delicious chicken fingers, they use the over-processed, mechanically-separated, added flavorings type of chicken. It's absolutely disgusting. The meat tastes fake. Ordered a large pie (half mushrooms and banana peppers and half pepperoni and onion) 10 wings and mozz sticks. The mozz sticks were great, just the way I like em. Nice seasoned batter and gooey in the middle with just a hint of grease. Sooo good. The wings were a lil soggy but the flavor for medium was there. If they were crispier they would have been much better. The pizza was forgettable. The crust was the best part. Was a bit surprised to see red onion used instead of white onion, a little too potent for my tastes. If you've never tried it here give it a shot though, maybe you'll like it. read more

The wife and I ventured out into the "blizzard" tonight in search of some good pizza. I mean, nothing pacifies the soul quite like a good pie during a famous buffalo snowstorm. The pizza was coming right out of the oven as we walked in. We ordered a large cheese and pep, half mushroom and the other half with banana peppers. It was absolutely delicious. Unlike most other buffalo pizzerias, Gino's pizza isn't a big ball of dough with gallons of grease dripping off of it. The dough was thin, crust had a nice crunch to it, the sauce was light and it was cooked to perfection. The only complaint I have is the fact that it took us two years to find out about Gino's.
