The food is very consistent in being very delicious. They have one of the best red sauces in buffalo. In my party they we had Fridays fish fry which is a fan favorite. The fettuccine is very good and creamy. Their pizza is so good to go or served there. The rest of their pasta is so good my favorites are the ravioli and the baked rigatoni. Purchased 2 slices of pizza on my way home from a day of errands. Got home the slices were burned on the bottom and when say burned I mean BURNED. I have pictures. I couldn't eat them so I called Molinaro's to advise that the slices were burned, the girl who answered the phone then spoke to her manager who advised they would give me a $5.00 credit next time I visit BUT NEVER OFFERED ME A FULL REFUND WHICH WAS ABOUT $9.00 OR SO. I never went back, why would I? So they essentially or so I felt. robbed of food and the money I was out. Never again. Terrible way to treat paying customers. I used to shop there ALL the TIME but for baked goods but I won't do that anymore either because as a consumer I feel very disrespected. First time here. Not terribly familiar with "downtown" Lockport but the restaurant is easy to find just east of Transit Road. Off street parking is ample. Dining room is on the smaller side, pretty basic, and clean. VERY friendly, informative, and efficient server recommended the daily lunch special sandwich. After hearing her description of the shaved prime rib sandwich on ciabatta bread, I was hooked and decided to NOT look at the rest of the large menu until AFTER I placed my order. What an awesome place . As soon as we walked in it was impressive. The restaurant is very inviting. I am completely amazed at the servings sizes. My wife and I both ate from one entree. I was in Lockport showing a client houses and we stopped her dinner. Glad that we did. It's a nice restaurant with a lot of choices and decent prices. We started with an appetizer. It was a risotto ball with mozzarella breaded and deep-fried and served marinara sauce. It was delicious I ordered a turkey club sub which had a lot of Turkey and bacon. I also tried the pizza which was thick and delicious. They have three different sauces traditional, sweets and extra sweets. We tried the one in the middle and it was very sweet so I think the extra sweet would be a bit much. There's a bakery with tons of dessert choices. This year for my birthday, my mom, step dad, and I enjoyed a great takeout meal from Molinaro's. Two years ago she ordered a pan of the chicken cutlets from here for a family dinner and they were excellent. But other than that, I hadn't eaten here since I moved from Lockport a decade ago. So I haven't been to the actual restaurant in a long time. We ordered 3 diners and shared so that we could try a little from each. The sauce was was very good. The meatballs with the baked rigatoni were OK but my least favorite from the dishes we shared. The stuffed shells were yummy and the lasagna was great. I couldn't stop eating eat even once I was full. But I I did because I had to save room for a cannoli! I should also note that the side salad that came with the meals was impressive, included a nice piece of garlic toast, and a ramekin of their house dressing which was really phenomenal. It might seem a little over the top to call a dressing phenomenal but it really was very good and I wasn't expecting that. After the three of us ate dinner, there were enough leftovers to make two more plates. In addition to their Italian dinners and desserts, they also offer pizzas, subs, salads, and appetizers. My old favorite dinner was the Chicken Molinaro but it has been a while so I need to try that one again next time we order from here. read more

To be honest, all I've gotten here are pizza, wings, and a cannoli once in awhile. I always get the sweet pizza sauce, which is very like Pizza Oven's, and a nice change from the usual sauce. The crust is medium thick, just right-doesn't overpower the toppings. They put just enough cheese, pepperoni or whatever you order on, too. No scrimping! The wings are always a good size, and medium is medium, hot is hot. Barbecue wings are good too, but as always, messy, and I wouldn't eat them in public! LOL! I ordered the black and bleu rigatoni, the sauce was very tasty but it was the bare minimum of sauce given. Theres only 2 pieces of shrimp and 3 thin slices of chicken breast. Disappointing for the $25 price tag. Also it came with a side salad that is just raw lettuce, a whole mini tomato and dried out raw onion set on top. Molinaro's has been our #1 stop at the Italian festival for years. The stuffed hot pepper roll is one of my favorite local specialties. This year we went to the Meatball Brawl and after comparing meatballs, we thought their's was the best. It was then that we knew we had to go out to Lockport and eat at their restaurant. Went with my wife and son on a Saturday. We ate at the restaurant and took subs and wings home for the rest of the family. The food ratings based on our 3 opinions: Stuffed Hot Peppers (5 out of 5 stars) - it stands out among the many other's in the area for the sausage (amount and quality) Stuffed Pepper Roll (5 stars) - outstanding. A stuffed hot pepper wrapped in pizza dough. Baked or fried this is a "must have". Wings (4.5 stars)- based on the chargrilled variety of sauces. Healthier option than fried and very good. Rigatoni and Meatball (3 stars) - meatballs are fantastic. Portion is awesome. The sauce was too sweet for my taste and the dish was served on the cold side. Meatball Parmigiana Sub (5 stars) - meatballs are absolutely fantastic. Eggplant Parmigiana Sub(5 stars)- the sub bread to eggplant ratio wasn't to my liking. Needed more eggplant. Will definitely look to eat here every time I'm in the area. Don't think I could possibly pass up any opportunity to eat the stuffed pepper roll. read more

Sadly they forgot the pepperoni...weird thing to forget...but anyway still a fantastic pizza otherwise. They dont skimp on the cheese either. The sauce is laid a little heavier than I usually care for but the sweet sauce is just so good I didnt mind. The wings were nice and saucey and cooked perfectly. The celery was alive and fresh. The blue cheese was real enjoyable. Overall a real solid pizza. **Have ordered takeout (over the phone) multiple times since and again another missing ingredient/item on multiple orders. Tried to go to Lock 34 before a show at the Palace Theatre and the wait was too long, so we wandered over to Molinaros. We got salads, ravioli, gnocchi with tomato Alfredo, and rigatoni with meatballs. All were great. The salad dressings (both golden and sweet Italian) were very good. Hot bread with dipping oil/vinegar was delicious. We'll definitely go back. Not a ton of seating. You can tell they do a lot of takeout business. Delicious old world Italian! Found this place by accident after checking out the locks. So glad we stopped! My son got to try his authentic NY style pizza, and my husband and I were amazed at both the quantity and quality! Authentic flavors I haven't had in years! This is an indirect review of Molinaro's. I was at Niagara produce and when in there prepared food section there was a pizza kit from Molinaro's. Not having been to the restaurant in a awhile I bought a kit. In the kit there was pizza dough, cheese, pepperoni and sweet sauce. If you don't like sweet sauce you can also get a kit with traditional sauce. I took the kit home and let me tell you it was the best pizza I ever made at home. We did add a few topping that we like but this pizza is out of this world. It made a large cheese and pepperoni for 11.00 and it was worth every penny. I will definitely be buying this again and telling everyone to go out and get one of these kits. read more

Half star off for slow delivery of bread and our appetizer. About 15 mins to get bread and 20 mins to get the stuffed mushroom appetizer. They were good, large, extremely hot, decently stuffed and you get five. And they were appropriately priced. One full star off for the overpriced The Portnoy pizza. It was ok but not anywhere near a Portnoy not Portnoy good. Half star off for mediocre service. Waitress is a bit disorganized. Didn't ask if we wanted plates. Another table she asked if they wanted plates. No, they don't want plates. Like us they want to eat their pizza over the bare table and get it everywhere. Busgirl took our drink order and was friendly, happy, and pleasant. She was quick to bring the wine that was ordered. We didn't pay for the two glasses of wine which was nice but probably because the waitress is disorganized. I would come again knowing what to expect. I don't think it can get worse. Visited Molinaro's today and our visit was not very good. Our order took over an hour to be served. Four tables that ordered after us were served their food before us. I believe the waitress was not at fault but the kitchen needs to step up their game! We ordered Mama M's twist dips and they were raw in the middle...they did make them over and they fixed the problem. After our hour plus wait for our entrees we had a chicken dish that was pink in the middle...they gave us another piece of chicken but at that point we were just ready to go home. My grandson had the raviolis and was more than happy with them! My alfredo was okay but I have had better at OG. The waitress took the appetizers off the bill and that was appreciated but the wait was too excessive and I'm not sure I would ever return. read more

This place was originally in Moline, Illinois, and served up really old salad - gross! Its name was "Molineros" rather than Molinaros, which came from the name of the city (Moline), and the initials R.O.S. (for the "really old salad" they were famous for serving to customers). Of course when they moved to Buffalo they had to change their name, so they simply substituted a vowel. They also stopped serving really old salad, so now the last three letters stand for "Really OK Salad". I feel really bad about this, but I have to be honest, right? I was told by at least half a dozen people (and it might be more than that), that if I liked Village Eatery (and my word do I like it), then I would love Molinaro's. I came in, I asked her what was good, and I ordered one of everything (about 5 different things, no less). The wait time was insane (45 mins, I think, but they'd just opened so I'm okay with that), and that doesn't factor into the rating whatsoever. The salad was average at best, at least it was nice and cold. The Garlic Bread was average, it was nowhere near the incredible, home baked level of the Village which is perhaps the best Garlic Bread I ever had. The Chicken Parm was very disappointing and there wasn't much chicken in there. It was also overpriced... I think it may have been more expensive than the hefty and fantastic Parm at Village. It's a little more understated than Village (I thought it would be the opposite), so that gave me high hopes for the food and the prices, but the food was less impressive (considerably), and the prices were a little higher (not much, but a little). My friend had a grilled chicken salad... it was the very definition of average. Also I had a slice of the pizza because it came highly recommended. It was probably my favourite item out of the many items we got, but it was still not particularly impressive. Also, I'm sure it was just one person, but our server was not particularly friendly, and everything she recommended was average at best. Also, this is the third time in a row I've started a paragraph using also, so I'm going to cut out of here now and quit while I'm ahead. It's okay that a lot of people love this place and I don't... it's all a matter of taste. But if you ask me, this is nowhere near a 4 out of 5, and I don't give much lower than a 3 when it comes to family owned places. And Village, on the other hand - the main rival of Molinaro's, I suppose - is more of a 6 out of 5 than a 5 out of 5. It sets the bar very very very high, and honestly only Mulberry rivals it in terms of an Italian meal in WNY. read more

I love this place. A local favorite and a great family that runs it. We ordered a large pizza and it did not disappoint. I will have enough for the week! The semi sweet sauce is great for when you want a little of that sweet flavor but don't want an insulin shot at the end of your meal. We also got wings and I was a little let down by the medium, it almost felt like they forgot to sauce them but I'm not taking points off because they were HUGE! I ordered a personal pizza online. After that things went downhill We picked it up and drove home we were ready to enjoy. NOT!!! Possibly the worst pizza I have ever had! A better description would be soggy bread with warm cheese on it. It was so soggy that it spit apart when I picked it up. I returned to the store and found someone on the phone and another employee chatting at a table. The employee finally decided to help me. I told him I was returning the pie because it was the worst...he repeated my words with a little sarcasm added. He took the wet bread into the kitchen. He returned to the front of the store and put the box it back on the counter. The person on the phone finally spoke to me and asked if I would like them to remake a new soggy bread pizza! I declined and asked for a refund which of course she couldn't do because only the owner can do this so I left with no pizza and no refund. The manager? said I would be emailed about the refund. My mom and I decided to finally go back to Molinaro's to eat because I hadn't eaten dinner there since their restaurant was in the white house behind the now restaurant-which if you know how long ago that was you know that it was a long overdue dinner! We decided to split the buffalo chicken Fettuccine Alfredo as we knew their portions were big. OMG how good it was. The spiciness of the hot sauce from the chicken finger paired better than I thought it would with the Alfredo sauce. It tasted so good that I just kept eating and eating until I was very full. Even with us both very full there was still a lot of leftovers; probably enough to feed another person. I would definitely get this again. There is a bakery attached to the restaurant so we had to stop in to get dessert to go. You can't go wrong with any of their desserts but I love their Italian cookies, especially the spumoni. My very favorite is their cannoli filled chocolate chip cookie sandwich that is half dunked in milk chocolate. If you are a cannoli lover like I am you will need to order this. It's amazing! Molinaros in Lockport is BY FAR one of the best pizza places I've EVER had! Definitely on my top 5 if not close to being number 1! The sweet sauce pizza is the best and the stuffed hot pepper roll/egg rolls are my go to!! They also have semi sweet and regular sauce for pizzas! I have been ordering from Molinaros for years and they never disappoint when it comes to ordering anything off the menu! Good parking space and every time I walk inside my mouth starts watering! They have huge slices right when you walk in and everything is so fresh! They have a cute bake shop to the left!
