Too bad I couldn't give 0 star. The staff used to be friendly. Today I came and the coffee was watery and left bad taste in my mouth. The staff seemed like they knew they gave me below-standard coffee because they were watching us the whole time while I was tryna mix the melted ice in my coffee. Hoping it would work out. So I went up and asked if I can have a refund and return the coffee. Molinos Coffee was surprisingly quite when we walked in on Christmas eve while all the surrounding restaurants were packed with people. The staff was very flexible in making us drinks not on the menu and even came over a couple of times to ask if we liked the drinks. I don't know a whole lot about coffee, but my drink tonight sure tasted great! I think they deserve more business! Nice atmosphere here. There's a whole bunch of people here by the time it's 7:30. You wouldn't know it was Molinos Coffee from the outside if you didn't have the address. I walked past it a few times while searching for the store front because the name is printed so high on the awning and it looked like a pub from the outside. I didn't want hotel breakfast again so I swung by and got the Acai bowl with coconut flakes. It's really an Acai cup to-go. Flavor is good, but the size is small for ~$8. I am throwing down. Molinos is a nice space with decent coffee, but they charge you $0.80 for half an ounce of soy milk while regular milk is offered at no charge. That may have been understandable when few people drank soy or almond milk but it is inexcusable in this day and age. Millions of people have good reason to avoid cow milk for health reasons. This arbitrarily high charge is greedy and shameful. I am not putting up with it anymore and am staying away. read more

I like this place! The açaí cup is pretty yummy. The coffee is pretty good too. This is always a stop for me when I'm in Riverside.

Molinos is a nice shop connected to the antique store of Downtown Riverside. When you walk into the shop, you're treated with all sorts of coffee goodness. They have a good selection of merchandise, espresso beans, coffee beans, and more. I ordered a caramel latte. My friend ordered an Americano. Both of our drinks were incredibly hot, but perfect when it came to taste. I'll definitely be back to visit again. They're doing something right here. :) read more

When they first opened, I was literally there like everyday! I was in nursing school at the time so I loved having a good coffee shop around. I love their coffee, the only problem I face now is that the barristas are extremely extremely slow.... sometimes it takes like 25 minutes to get a drink and it's not even that crowded... maybe they need more staffing... idk. The prices went up since they first opened, which is not surprising, im sure they have gotten more business and are likely investing in more stuff, but pleeease speed it up a little because I do love this place, but sometimes my husband and I choose a different coffee spot because we say to ourselves, "no they take forever"... but their coffee is great so if you have some downtime and don't mind waiting a bit... try it out read more

This is my favorite coffee shop in Riverside. Great vibes here: the music is often easy listening and not too loud where you can't hear yourself talk, the lattes are truly fantastic (they have a creamy texture that's not overwhelmingly sweet or heavy), the view is just about the best view you can ask for right across from the mission inn. The customer service is great too. I've been eyeing their pastry ever since I got in through the door. My brain says yes but my diet says no. Alas, first world problems. read more

I've been trying all of the coffee downtown, and I really enjoy this place. Great coffee that's super cheap, just paid 2 bucks for a cortadito, which is just fantastic. Their cinnamon rolls are to die for. The sandwiches a lil' expensive. The environment is great, it's always pretty quiet for studying/work, but loud for little concerts they have, as it should be. :) There are two types of people working there: those who are sweet and enjoy their work, and those who don't. Their are some that remember your name and give great service with a smile, but even those who don't care don't spit in your coffee and remember what you like. The only thing that was bad for me was the location. It was difficult finding parking, but we found a near by parking structure. First 90 minutes were free, however knowing my boyfriend and I, we are staying much longer than 90 minutes. I love the decor, provided the place with such a home-y relaxing coffee shop feel. My favorite thing about that place is the giant window. The workers are very friendly and patient, since it was my first time there I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted. I got the hazelnut latte and my boyfriend got the affogatto. He liked it better than expected since the portion was much more than just two shots of expresso and a nice scoop of ice cream! The place is very accommodating for people who want to study because it isn't noisy, however it isn't dead quiet either. There's outlets almost everywhere for you to charge your laptop if you're studying. Where we were sitting, against the wall on these benches, there were outlets under them so we had an outlet and so does every table down the bench. Hot chocolate was watery & lukewarm, even though cashier asked if it was for a kid & we clarified it wasn't. Breakfast sandwiches were so-so..croissants were cold & filling inside was hot. Ugh. That's like being served cold bread at a restaurant. I hate that. Blueberry muffin was moist..but it's more like a lemon blueberry pound cake. I thought it was tasty. Get the acai bowl, I repeat, get the acai bowl!! To be honest, at first I was disappointed in their serving size - a 16 oz. cup! After trying it out, however, I could see why: a very thick consistency, with 3 scoops of acai blended instead of the usual recipes at other places with only 1 scoop. A little sweet for my taste but I enjoyed every bit of it! Surprisingly, I always come here for the acai bowls and not the coffee. Don't get me wrong though, their coffee quality is top notch! I can not believe the nerve of this place . I have come here several times and the service is terrible. I am extremely observant and noticed the staff is favorable towards the fancy tourists and customers in suits and luxurious attire. I come In with my shorts and brown skin and they always seem to forget my order and leave me to wait . Usually pretty busy in the mornings. Chill vibes and yummy snacks/food but I've been here a good amount of times and too many of my drinks have been watery or too milky. I usually get something similar to an iced latte with some type of flavoring. I prefer my coffee based drinks a little stronger so when I come back I'll try ordering something different. Sometimes their staff is friendly and you get a smile, other times "eh". My most recent visit was an "eh" and kinda turned me off of this place. tl:dr; Nice coffee house right across the street from the Festival of Lights... **** What a really cool ambiance right across the street from the Mission Inn where you have a great vantage point from where to see the Festival of Lights. As busy and as festive as it is nearby, there were still a fair number of people trying to study and gathered otherwise. Although they specialize in Cuban coffee, it was the Affogato that piqued my curiosity the first time. Although I didn't think much of the presentation in a paper cup, the espresso was nice and strong. The baristas who were nice and friendly added a touch of syrup and ground chocolate on top of the vanilla ice cream and at $3.50 it's one of the cheaper offerings I've come across... Their menu also offers diverse items such as ciders, sandwiches, and bagels. Wifey had her seasonal spiced Chai Latte which was cinnamony and smooth, nice to walk around and take in the lights with. *Before anything, know that I don't like to handout stars very easily ESPECIALLY when it comes to coffee shops.* Looking for Molinos wasn't too hard as they have a large sign on the front of the building, but it took me a second to understand that the entrance was inside a little passageway. The vibe at this coffee shop was more mellow and focused except for when the students come in before school; then it becomes a bit chaotic. The employees were kind but not very chatty and I do remember not getting a "welcome" when I entered but that isn't the worst thing in the world. The coffee was good, reminded a bit of coffee bean though in the sense that it didn't give me that morning boost but just the taste of good coffee. The coffee is good but IT TAKES FOREVER ... you can end up waiting 30 minutes (our average wait time is around 20 minutes) for a LATTE. It should NOT take that long!!! If you have at least an hour to kill, then it's fine. But don't expect to be able to grab a coffee during your 15 minute break. The wait is just awful. I'm back to CBTL across the way because they are FAST. After the half hour wait, the latte was lukewarm and the cup had 1" of room at the top. Nice to know you don't get what you pay for. I came in to grab a coffee when I saw a delivery person bring in their milk.. from their CAR.. one by one.. no bags.. that is not acceptable! The milk was not kept cold as they ordered over 15 gallons of milk. I saw that and walked out. So I take it they use Instacart to deliver their milk and cinnamon rolls.. so imagine if you will what temp it is in the car?? No refrigeration so the milk changes temps.. this is not ok. They should be ordering from a business delivery service that keeps the items cold.. LIKE EVERY OTHER BUSINESS. I would warn to stay away from this establishment for sure. Stopped by here after going to visit the Mission Inn Festival of Lights. We were cold and wanted something hot to warm us up. I ordered the Peanut Butter mocha and various other drinks for my family. The place was packed and there was only two young ladies making drinks. It took us around 20 minutes to get our coffees and while waiting we kept noticing they were loosing customers due to the long line. Once we got our drinks I was pleased with the coffee but the owner or manager needs to get a handle on their scheduling.
