What a cute little ice cream shop. I know they have multiple locations, but I still think their product is delicious. I think it's hilarious that they sell lactaid at the counter. So funny. The staff is kind and is more than happy to let you sample to your heart's desire. There is seating both inside and out. I am sure on summer evenings this place is insanely busy, but on a Monday at approximately 2PM, I didn't wait in a line at all. They had fun summer flavors such as apricot crisp, blueberry cheesecake, cherry chunk, and strawberry sorbet. I tried two different flavors, and both were delicious. Both flavors were extremely creamy, even the fruity flavored ones. I started with the strawberry sorbet. It was refreshing. The strawberry really shined through and was extremely fresh tasting. I feel like strawberry flavoring can sometimes come off as artificial, but I did not have that experience with this ice cream. The second flavor I sample, and my favorite one of the day was the honey lavender. It felt like you were walking through an organic lavender field. Wow I can't believe I haven't written a review yet. Been in the city for several years and it has been consistently good! I'm not a salt and straw fan because I prefer the thicker textures that Molly moon has and prefer their monthly flavors too. It's less eccentric. I'm always looking forward to June for Blueberry Pie flavor. I will say, the take home pints taste worse than in-store. So I've stopped getting them and would just come inside. I do very much appreciate the service, no matter what time of day I come. And the tip-free policy just makes it so much more stress-free when an ice cream scoop is already $8 these days. The ice latte and mint brownie tastes amazing and very refreshing. I can't tell which one I like more. As shown in the video the waffle cone is freshly made and is light and crunchy! I stopped in on a warm Saturday evening and was surprised to find the place completely empty. There were 3 employees standing together in the corner chatting, and I waited at the counter for a couple of minutes without anyone acknowledging me. Eventually I walked toward the register and asked if I could get some help. One of the employees seemed annoyed to step away from the conversation. I ordered a sundae and asked for custom flavors: vanilla and salted caramel. What I got looked like chocolate and salted caramel instead. When I mentioned that I had asked for vanilla, she rolled her eyes and went back to chatting while I stood there waiting. Another employee eventually stepped in and remade it, but the sundae was missing the nuts. At that point I didn't feel like asking again, so I just left. The sundae itself was also pretty underwhelming compared with what I remember from when they first opened. Overall, the place feels like it has gone downhill a lot. Molly Moon's is so cute! Very tiny and not many places to sit inside, so it's best to take your ice cream to go. I asked for the "babiest" size and was given a kiddie scoop. It was the perfect amount. I got the Dutch Apple Pie seasonal flavor and it was SO GOOD. Would 100% order again. My partner got the waffle bowl with the Salty Toffee, also good! I feel as though their flavors have gotten a little less creative over time, but I'd still rather go here than those carpet baggers from Salt & Straw down the hill. I'm vegan. Molly Moon's only has one consistent, year-round vegan flavor, a coconut chunk thing, and I don't think it's very good. However, sometimes their vegan seasonals (also only ever 1) are delicious. Just had an apple cider donut flavor that was lovely. Their free toppings - sprinkles and cherries - are vegan. They used to ALSO have coconut whip cream for free (which was such a gift), but sadly got rid of it recently. My non-vegan friends really like some of their other flavors. I like that they don't do tipping (included in the price), give out free scoops if you bring your ballot stub from voting, and often collab with and donate to local causes. read more

Yummy! I really really highly recommend the black sesame red bean ice cream. It's probably one of my favorites for seasonal flavors so get it while it's there! I got the matcha hard shell to go with it and it was good! It definitely stuck to the spoon a little while eating. The price is okay, maybe a little on the high end but that's because the flavors are quite unique and the consistency is smooth. So whether you believe it is worth the money or not varies.
