Staying at a nearby hotel after a long day travel we were looking for a place to relax over a beer and a bite to eat. Molly O's was a lucky find and everything we were looking for. Ambiance was perfect. Molly's middle name could be "hospitality" as the bartenders were fantastic and friendly. We shared Sausage balls, a Wedge Salad, and a Corned Beef Sandwich. All delicious and hit the spot. We will definitely go back when our travels take us that way again. read more

I ate lunch at Molly Os today and unfortunately I won't be returning. Now the food and service were actually very good. I had the Irish Breakfast (the big one that combines the Full Irish with the Ulster Fry) and it was overall quite good. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the puddings and meats were excellent, and the homemade breads were top notch. The inclusion of farls was a wonderful surprise, I haven't seen those at any Irish restaurant in the States before. My only complaint was that the fried potatoes were a little undercooked and unseasoned. My real problem, which knocks them down from 4 to 2 stars was the credit card surcharge that appeared on my bill. I abhor this practice as I won't be penalized for not carrying cash with me when we live well into the 21st century. Cash is outdated, cumbersome, and often filthy. Not only that, but it is illegal in California to have such a surcharge. California SB 478, the Honest Pricing Law, prohibits businesses from adding credit card fees that are not prebaked into the cost of the product or service. Until they drop this practice I won't be eating at this establishment again. Which is a shame, they are better than the other Irish Pubs in the area. read more

Saw Molly Os had opened and had to stop by with my friend for lunch! We both liked what we ordered and service was fantastic despite being recently opened and busy midday on a Tuesday. Comforting atmosphere and decor as well, and the music - heck yeah, had some bangers and i dont mean the kind that goes with mash!! It wasn't like Irish music or anything but in my book if you have Steely Dan in your mix/on your channel you have good taste in music! Only problem is I had "Summer Breeze" stuck in my head rest of the day. My favorite was the sausage rolls, gotta dip them in the sauce too! Fish n chips good and crispy, batter could maybe use a little more seasoning and slaw either less dressing or more dressing but I loved the flavor it reminded me of KFC slaw and sorry not sorry that always hits the spot for me. And they had "The Good Fries" - you'll Can't wait to come back and have some drinks, try more dishes (beef stew perhaps), and see what future menu items Molly Os has around the bend as they trial dishes their first few weeks being open. San Carlos was in need of an Irish pub, after all the old staples shut down over the years. Molly O's comes as a welcome addition to the bustling bar, wine and beer scene of this small town. These guys know their Guinness and don't shy away from carrying a decent Irish Whiskey selection either. The place does get busy on weekends, but you can snag a table pretty easy on a week day. I love Molly O's and happy they opened up in San Carlos! It is the perfect addition to the area. Everything we've ordered so far has been really good! Their potato skins are the BEST I've had at any bar or restaurant and we order them every time. The lamb entree and the bangers & mash are both delicious too so you can't go wrong with either. Can't wait to try even more from their menu next time! The staff is friendly and have made every visit a great experience. Tony has been our server a couple times and he is awesome. My favorites are the fish and chips with a Jameson and a pint of beer. I've added Molly O's to my list of destinations in San Carlos. Molly O's is a genuine Irish pub. They have an excellent menu of Irish/California fusion meals of all sizes, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have a superb liquor selection. At the time of my visit, The restaurant and bar were brand new, but it felt like there was already an established clientele. It has a friendly vibe; it feels like a part of the local community. They have nice TVs for watching sports, and the seating arrangement is open, but there are these cute little semi-private seating areas at the front windows. read more

My friend and I stumbled upon this spot on their first day of opening by total surprise! The menu was limited because they don't fully open till June but what we had was great. We had the potato skins, quesadillas, and 2 fresh pints of Guinness! Was looking for a Friday fish fry or fish and chips on the West Coast. So the batter was great. The fries were seasoned well the coleslaw was spot on. Unfortunately, the fish was tilapia. I was really disappointed when I found my first bite was a thin piece of fish inside that beautiful batter. An Institution like Fiddlers Green and Molly O should have nice cod or fish with a nice flake. Went to Molly's last night for dinner. Granted there was San Carlos Art and Wine festival going on so it was a bit crowded. The cocktails were good. The appetizer salads Ceasar and wedge were ample and tasty. Molly's fell short with the entrées. My friend had corn beef and cabbage, it was tasteless. I recently dined at Molly O's with a group of friends and had a mixed experience that warrants a two-star review. Let me start with the positives: Molly O's boasts fantastic food, drinks and a vibrant atmosphere. The menu offers a variety of delicious options, complemented by an impressive selection of beers and a fully stocked bar. The overall vibe of the place is lively and fun, making it a definite recommendation for anyone looking for great eats and drinks. However, the standout feature of our visit wasn't the food or the ambiance; it was unfortunately our server, Ryan. While he promptly took our drink orders, things quickly went downhill from there. Upon returning with our drinks, Ryan managed to spill a quarter of a beer across our table, plates, and even onto a phone on the edge of the table. That was truly not a big deal as I know this happens and we were all good with that, not a biggie. What was most disappointing wasn't the spill itself, but completely ignored the fact of this mess and Ryan's lack of acknowledgment or attempt to rectify the situation. Nothing was said on Ryans part, he just moved on. We ended up cleaning the mess ourselves with napkins from a neighboring table. Throughout the meal, Ryan's attentiveness left much to be desired. Despite our group spending a total time of 1.5 hours at our table in the restaurant, his interactions with us were minimal, with Ryan barely lasting more than 30 seconds total time interacting with us, may 10 seconds each drive by, he hit and ran with no conversation or customer service. The place was not slammed or super busy either. Meanwhile, he devoted considerable time 15 plus minutes, to socializing with a table of his friends nearby, giving high fives, hugging them, and bringing them drinks when we could not ever get his attention to order another drink, leaving us feeling neglected and undervalued as customers. Our group spent approximately $250 on dinner and drinks. We were going to stay for a couple more drinks and watch a game but decided to go elsewhere due to Ryans lack of service. We then went and spent another $200 dollars at another local spot a few doors away that Molly O's missed out on due to Ryan's lack of customer service. As we left, Ryan failed to offer a simple thank you or farewell, deliberately walking away from us and not making eye contact and purposely turned and walked in the other aisle of tables when we left, further underscoring his disregard for our patronage. Despite our customer service disappointment with Ryan's service, Molly O's remains a good place to go. I would consider returning for its excellent food, drinks and lively atmosphere. However, I would not hesitant to walk out and not dine here again if Ryan were assigned as our server, and his actions are not improved. I sincerely hope that management takes this feedback seriously and provides the necessary training and support to improve Ryan's customer service skills. In doing so, they can ensure that every guest receives the same level of attention and care not just his friends. Appreciated. read more

We were here a few weeks ago for dinner on a cold rainy night and this place did not disappoint with a warm inviting atmosphere and friendly welcoming staff!! The menu is amazing and the food was delicious! My sister had the fish and chips she thought it was delicious and fresh as can be! I had the fried chicken sandwich with fries and it was amazing, my Aunt had the chicken sandwich as well with side salad and she said the salad was very fresh and delicious as well as her sandwich.
