LOCATIONS & PARKING locations vary, though they tend to keep the same-ish schedule every week. just follow their IG or check the website to stay up to date. you can also find them at some of the local food shows. parking at the locations varies. downtown is really meant for people who work in that area since theyre already parked somewhere for work. otherwise you'll have to find street parking kalihi spot has a couple of stalls of street parking near the park pearlridge has a ton of parking since the bank and other businesses are closed, this one is the easiest for me AVAILABILITY go when they start selling or they run out pretty fast some days. if you go to a food show, go first thing or youll end up waiting in a really long line or wont get any at all they started doing deliveries on thursdays for large orders, and i believe they'll ship too if you order like a dozen breads. CHOICES they have a standard menu, but then theres also 1 rotating monthly flavor. so check their pages to find out what it is. this monthly flavor usually runs out quick too, so go early. you can do a half and half as well, for an additional charge, i think it was only $1 more. BREAD strawberry & cream cheese is my usual order. sweet strawberry jam with creamy cream cheese inside a pillowy white french bread loaf. sometimes i add cold cut slices into it and turn it into a monte cristo like sandwich LOL dont knock it until you try it the ube cheesecake FOTM was good too though. not as sweet as the jam however, but still yummy. cant wait to try novembers FOTM, pumpkin! read more

it's not actually (temperature) hot bread and I think part of the fun is looking for the truck and its exclusivity, but this bread is still fantastic nonetheless. you can't really tell in the photos but one order is GIGANTIC. it's probably the size of regular 2.5 loaves of bread put together. we were lucky to find the truck quickly at 11:30am in downtown so there was thankfully no line. these hefty loaves are no joke. we split the ube cheesecake first and wow!! the bread is so so soft and the cream is the perfect balance of ube and sweetness without being overpowering. it could probably be enough to feed 6 people, so be careful you don't order too much! read more

While family was visiting for the mainland I took them to this truck told them it was a must. We ended up getting the mthly special Ube Cheesecake, strawberry cream cheese and 2 plain. They ended up taking the 2 plain breads w them on their return flight home. called a few days later and said next trip they want to figure out how to take home the flavor breads they loved it so much lol. Molokai Bread on Oahu! I saw this food truck in the parking lot of Windward Mall in Kaneohe - on the corner of Haiku Road and Kamehameha Highway, near Macy's. Wow! How convenient! Now, I don't have to fly to Molokai for bread from the alley, at a window of Kanemitsu Bakery! Yes! There's a bunch of hurdles to cross if you want the real thing. This Oahu food truck parks in Kaneohe every Wednesday from 1pm to 6:30pm or until they run out. A plain loaf is $8. If you want a filling such as cream cheese, strawberry, or cinnamon, it's $1 more. I got a loaf with butter filling...yum! It's like a butter sandwich...rich and creamy...mmm! Plain and simple goodness! I did see that the Flavor of the Month is Red Velvet for $12. I'm so glad that Molokai Hot Bread made it to Koko Marina Center. I've been following them since someone posted about the bread. I've even marked my calendar to go there. They were at Koko Marina last weekend but my husband came home too late to watch the baby so I missed it. Just so happen that I glanced over when driving and saw their truck. I got so excited, my husband thought I was going crazy. Haha. Told him I'm gonna put my daughter down for a nap and then go back out to get the bread. He thought I was crazy going out to just get bread. The truck offers the plain bread or you can have it stuffed with different flavors. They have strawberries, blueberries, cinnamon, butter, and cream cheese. You can get any number of combinations you want. I got Da Works which has everything in there. Go big or go home right, haha. Da Works is $13. Seems expensive but it was well worth it. I ate it as soon as I got home and savored every bite of it. It was my husband's first time having the bread and he liked it too. Kanemitsu Bakery 's Molokai hot bread is in Oahu. I heard of this bread when my son brought fundraiser tickets. The truck runs all over the Oahu. I came to Ka makana shopping mall. The truck just came at 1pm. Staffs are so friendly!! There is 4 fillings and one flavor of the month to choose. I thought we could pick fillings and mix. But they spread those fillings already. It is disappointing. And it's pricy. They said popular one is blueberry and cream cheese. It was delicious. Inside is very soft.and the fillings are amazing.not too sweet! I made plans to try this local favorite on a rare day that the Molokai Bread truck came to Kaka'ako. I read about this bread being a must-try item when visiting Molokai. I decided to ask my co-workers if they wanted me to pick them up some hot bread. The orders quickly flooded in driving home the fact that this bread is really popular with locals. Half of my office was ready with cash in hand as I jotted down which fillings they wanted. The menu is straight forward with the option of choosing plain bread, or bread with one, two, three, four, or all five fillings. The fillings are strawberry, blueberry, cinnamon, butter, and cream cheese. It was very quick to get the bread once I handed over my order as everything is already made and wrapped in a bag. Upon returning to my office I was ready to dig into my warm loaf of bread with butter filling. The bread is soft and butter makes everything taste good. It was an indulgent treat but nothing out of the ordinary in my opinion. I'm not a fan of sweets, but those who love sweet bread will likely enjoy Molokai hot bread with one of the cream cheese and fruit fillings. I was told by a Hawaiian that the bread truck pales in comparison to its bakery. That is not surprising but I think the food truck is as good of a substitute as any when we can't get the original at Kanemitsu's Bakery on Molokai. Heard of this place through social media and found a convenient location by me that the truck was gonna be at. This place usually sells out quickly so I was lucky enough to get my order in. Da Works. Molokai bread with every filing available. It's a huge hunk of bread. Soft and generously filled with cream cheese,strawberry, blueberry, cinnamon, etc. The bread is light, the filling creamy and flavorful. The Molokai hot bread truck was parked near where I work and I finally had the chance to try their amazing bread! They said they would be there until they sold out. There was no line when I walked up to the truck (it's grey) and the nice woman selling bread said she only had one left-- a blueberry cream cheese bread that I wanted to get anyway! Is it my lucky day or what? I was honestly sooooo skeptical. It literally looks like a roll with jam and cream cheese. And maybe I had a long week and maybe I was pretty hungry, but wow, the bread was soft, there was just the right amount of fruit jam and cream cheese. It wasn't that messy. Oh my goodness, oh my goodness! I've been seeing their advertising pop up on FB a lot lately and decided to give them a try. I love that they post a monthly calendar with their locations and times. This makes planning easy peasy! Today they were at Waikele shopping center. I got there right around 1 and there was a small line. The line moved quickly and the gentleman that took my order was friendly and informative. I explained that this was my first time and he let me know about storage options. The bread can be frozen for up to 4 months. I explained that in my house I'd be surprised if it lasted more than 2 days, lol. So lately I've been on this low carb kick but let me tell y'all, bread is my weakness . Especially bread filled with deliciousness! If I could have gotten 1 of every flavor I would have. But, alas I settled on ube, cinnamon and cream, and peanutbutter chocolate chip. My favorite was the ube! So much purple goodness exploded in my mouth when I took my first bite. I was in ube heaven! If I could compare the filling to something it would have to be the uber factory tarts (if you don't already know you better ask somebody). The bread is just the perfect texture and consistency. I was expecting it to be a little sweet, but I was not disappointed by the fresh soft pillowiness that greeted my tastebuds. The cinnamon cream was alright. I love me some cinnamon bread and the cream was the perfect compliment. The gentleman compared it to a cinnabon, but I didn't get that vibe. I think cinnabon is much sweeter. Just let me be clear, this is NOT me complaining. I absolutely would buy it again. The peanutbutter chocolate chip was my least favorite. Not for lack of deliciousness but for lack of filling and chocolate chips. This bread was the least stuffed and there were barely any chocolate chips but still yummy. The gentleman compared this to a reeses peanutbutter cup. I think the cream filling tasted similar to the commonly known treats filling but the texture is totally different. All the fillings I've tried are thick and creamy! Overall experience is that I'm in love! I'm not a fan of bread (carbs) nor sweet stuff. It was only when I heard about this Molokai Hot Bread a few times that I figured I would earn myself some brownie points from the boss. She loves bread and sweets so this would be a slam dunk. Only thing was I had to journey West and stand in line to get it. Two things I'm not a fan of is standing in line and traffic. Knowing I would have to endure these nuances, I mentally prepared myself. I desperately needed brownie points so no brainer lol The location I went to was at Waikele. I found them on IG and sent a DM the night before to confirm their location and time they would be there. They got back to me promptly and told me around 2pm. I arrived about 1:30pm and got a coffee at Starbucks while chilling in AC. When I saw them pull in at 2pm, I followed the truck to its final destination. OMG, there was a crazy line that formed before the truck was even there! It was hot and all these people were in line! For me, it took 40 minutes to finally order but it was worth it. I picked up one Strawberry with Cream Cheese and one Blueberry with Cream Cheese. Figured I would get my parents one too and score some brownie points but we all know I'm a lost cause in their eyes. Mink really enjoyed it and gave them 4.5 stars. My parents also enjoyed it. I ate a few bites of both and they were good but not something I would eat more than a few bites of. Was disappointed with the chocolate haupia molokai bread i picked up at PearlRidge center. Bread was not as fluffy and fresh as the strawberry cream one i had in the past. Thought it would be haupia pudding mixed with chocolate but it was more just a coconut flavor mixed with the chocolate. The family did not care for it. I would recommend staying with the strawberry cream. read more

Usually my wife can't finish one by herself so this past visit we asked the workers if they could cut the loaf in half and put different things on the two different sides (my wife wanted it plain on her side and I wanted my side with strawberry and butter) which they were able to do for us!! Follow Molokai Hot Bread Oahu on IG for their times and locations. That's how I was able to finally try this gem today! There was a line, of course, but it was incredibly fast. They take cash and card, so that's a plus, too. I ordered one with butter filling only and one with strawberry and cream cheese. BOTH were delicious! The butter one would go great with a savory meal, or even just by itself. Yes, the bread itself is so soft and yummy that it can be a star on its own! The strawberry and cream cheese filling was to die for. I kept scooping parts of the filling out with my finger and eating it by itself. The bread is very soft and has both a melt-in-your-mouth and chewy consistency, if that's even possible. They say to wrap the bread in a moist paper towel and heat in the microwave for 30 seconds. When I did that, the outsides became to hard but the inside stayed pillowy soft. For eating later purposes, I think I would rather take it out of the fridge and just let it sit for about 15 minutes for it to thaw/get soft again and eat it without microwaving it. Or, maybe zapping it for half that time would make it less hardened. Verdict: Absolutely. Best when eaten fresh in one sitting or one day. I can't wait to try the cinnamon. The cream cheese itself is so yummy I'm positive it would be awesome by itself or with ANY of the fillings on the menu. read more

ok, today was the first time to buy Molokai bread from the Molokai Bread Truck. They come about 2-4x a month to park on Lanakila Ave, and they were here today at 1pm...I work 100 yards away at one of the many buildings that make up the 'campus' of Hawaii Public Housing Authority and told myself...yep, you gonna try and buy it...all talk in the past, now my chance to buy, and buy I did. Walked there during my lunch at 1:20pm, foot traffic was dead...was the only customer... Looked to see what were the monthly specials, and he pointed down to the exterior of the truck to see the list. Due to tunnel vision, and my quest to just buy one, I chose the first thing on the list..the strawberry guava cheesecake filled bread for $12.Then while he filling the order I decide I wanted to buy also the ube cheesecake bread---also being sold for $12. I know...like me, pake sometimes...why cost $12 I say to myself??? Brought home after work and took out the measuring stick...around 8 inches in diameter/flat bottom like breads--not pies. About 3-3 1/2 inches high and weighs easy 3+ pounds.. So now justified...how does it taste? Not overly sweet as you would think...and not bland or lacking... Man, I like just better the ube cheesecake over the strawberry guava cheesecake bread. The truck takes credit, debit and cash... I paid two separate times as I made the last second decision to get the other bread. So they don't use an ipad but a regular android personal cell phone...the first page (of two) is how much you wanna tip? 15%, 20%, 25% or 'no tip' . I was going to check off no tip, but hey, business was slow so I tipped 15%, or $1.80. Then onto the next page, you finger write your signature --- no run away with their cell phone The fillings were all premade...they are fresh, not toasted.. and was delicious ! gonna freeze the rest of both breads...Wouldn't hesitate to buy again... read more

A unique experience we were encouraged to try. We were told that orders were filled from 7:30-11:00pm so we showed up about 8. We ordered cream cheese and strawberry filling, but were surprised to find that the bread was not HOT - which seemed odd, considering the name. We were later told that to get HOT bread you must come at about 11 pm, when the next day's bread is being baked. The only downside to this bread is the pounds I gain from eating a whole loaf by myself!! Ok slight exaggeration because I'm positive my family would never let me NOT share Seriously though... get a whole loaf with da works and enjoy every last bite! It's best when freshly warm and smothered, but toasting up leftover pieces is a really really close second. Took 3 adults 3 days to finish and only because our "diets" could only handle so much per day! The price point of $12-14 seems high until you see how MASSIVE these breads are. I ordered a blueberry and an Ube filled bread, and they were heavy enough to make my car's seatbelt alarm go off! The flavor is not anything I find particularly special, but it's definitely a fun snack. I was a bit disappointed as I felt like it was just basic bread with strawberry jam and sweetened cream cheese. I thought the bread would be more like sweett bread. The next day, the bread became pretty dry and a little hard. I would not recommend this to people who have a weaker stomach. After all my friends talking about this bread..I finally tried is Molokai Hot Bread's  Da Workz last Made in Hawaii festival 2019. Thanks to my friend that bought me one (i did not experience the long lines. Hurray and I believe they sold out for 3 days on that festival too) Its a soft bread (the bread tastes somewhat like Philippines' Monay but this is a huge one). It is filled with 4 different magical flavors - Strawberry Jam, Blueberry Jam, Cinnamon, Butter and Cream cheese. It's so yummy, sweetness is spot because it was balanced by the Butter and Cream Cheese. This good stuff made my tummy so full right away! I'm happy that my husband loved it too. This is perfect to eat warm, for afternoon snack or breakfast and goes well with my hot chai or green tea. Yum! I know its lotsa calories (I'm a carbs lover by the way) but my gosh, it's all worth it! It's a must try! Back in the late 90's, after a night of wild, Molokai kine partying (basically drinking at a beach), I visited Kanemitsu Bakery late night, banged on the wooden door, and ordered fresh Molokai hot bread. I got the strawberry with cream cheese. I still remember the warm bread and the strawberry oozing out of the bread. It was incredible!! Fast forward to now! I see the Molokai Hot Bread truck parked near Pearl Ridge. My taste buds traveled back to Kanemitsu Bakery. I took a quick right and turned into the American Savings Bank parking lot. The bread is soooo good. My fave is always the strawberry with cream cheese but cinnamon butter is ono too!! Honestly I'm sure all of them are ono. How can you mess up yummy bread with fun spread?!! I only stop by when I have my kids in the car. This way I share the bread because I could totally eat the whole thing by myself. I found out about Molokai Hot Bread through a news ad on Hawaii News Now. I was pleasantly surprised to find that their truck was at Pearlridge which is the most convenient location for me. We came relatively early in the day so the line wasn't too bad. The bread was delicious and really big! I got the cinnamon and butter combination. My husband got his with the strawberry flavoring. The bread doesn't come hot since they make it early in the day, but that wasn't necessarily a deal breaker for me even though I think it would make it a little bit better.
