My husband chose this Greek family owned restaurant in Wheaton to celebrate my birthday since I enjoy this type of cuisine. We started with a Greek red wine and a trio of spreads for our appetizer. I appreciated that they do offer a gluten free pitas option. The wine went perfectly with our food and we enjoyed some friendly banter with our waiter. Two ladies at the table next to ours were regulars and shared that the restaurant is fairly new but the breakfast place adjoining is by the same owners and in fact the barn doors were open for overflow into that dining space on a busy Saturday night. Couples, families, young and old were enjoying celebrating birthdays or just a night out. The food is delicious and portions are generous. My main entree was Souvlaki and it comes with fries and pita. Most walked out with leftovers. Parking is on the street and can be challenging in this college town. Nobody was in the bar area which I thought was decorated so cute. If you love garlic then order the Molos Greek Potatoes but be sure to grab a complimentary mint on the way out! We had a birthday party with 20 people and the folks at Molos came through for us in a big way. The room off to the side of the restaurant had doors to close us off from the other guests so we could be loud without disturbing others. The food was awesome. We asked them to bring out Saganaki, Baked Feta, and Greek Salad. That all worked out perfectly. We had our guests order what they liked and everything was delicious. The kitchen crew did a great job getting everything out pretty much all at once. They let us bring in a cake but we also ordered desserts. Because the desserts are awesome! Our server was terrific. Sadly I didn't ask her name. All the food with anything our guests wanted to drink cost less than I had anticipated. We have eaten at Molos before and after tonight I have no problem saying we will continue to enjoy their restaurant, food, and staff. Five stars all the way. read more

I love this place! Our 3rd time here, 2in person and 1 take out. Gyros are great and big, feta fries are wonderful! My husband loves the Uvetsi, beef filets with orzo. Beef is cooked perfectly. I think we found our favorite Greek spot in the west suburbs. Started off with a greek salad with some of the best feta I've ever had. That feta ended up on the fries that came with my lamb burger which was unbelievable. In my top five burgers I've ever had. Melted smoked Gouda, sweet peppers, chipotle aioli for a little kick and fresh arugula. My date got the lamb chops that we reminiscent of something you Would get off a spit at a street festival. That char grilled flavor with super tender meat. Everything tasted so fresh. The baklava was also a nice treat at the end. Wonderful and friendly staff, pleasant decor and vibe, not to mention clean! I am delighted to have discovered this gem today. Quality traditional greek food. I went here with my dad on a Friday night with no reservations and had no issues getting seated right away. They have a decent wine selection, however we both opted for cocktails. I got the spritzer and he got the smoked old fashioned. My drink was light and slightly sweet and I'd get it again; the old fashioned was very very smokey but good. They start you off with complimentary bread which is soft and warm. We split the tasting plate, which consists of your choice of three of their spreads along with pita. We got the tirokafteri (spicy feta), taramosalata (cod roe), and melitzanosalata (eggplant spread). We ranked them in opposite order, but agreed they were all delicious and the pita was fresh. We split their special of the night which was pasta with a red sauce and lobster. This was delicious! The presentation is beautiful and serving size was more than enough for both of us and some leftovers. We also had broccolini which was tasty but needed some salt. Our server Annie was kind and attentive. The restaurant also is the Hen House during breakfast/lunch hours, so I'd love to try that out sometime soon too. read more

We had a reservation for Friday night and it was pretty full when we arrived. There were lots of families. We were seated very promptly with our menus. Hubby ordered a smoky old fashioned and I had a glass of wine. There were many great comments about the smoky old fashioned - he really enjoyed it! We had some appetizers - sagnaki (because you have to) and the grilled octopus. The portions were very generous and the grilled octopus was cooked just right, not too chewy. I had the Chicken ala Feta for my main course and hubby had the gyro sandwich. The gyro sandwich was HUGE and he could only eat half. My chicken could have had more feta on it, but I never have enough feta! They have many dessert options, but we were just stuffed from dinner, so we passed on that which was very hard to do. Hubby had planned to get some baklava, but didn't leave enough room in the "dessert compartment". I had some room, but didn't see many gluten free options and that was ok. For my other GF peeps, they offer GF pita bread! So if you are up for the gyros, do not worry. They have other options as well, that aren't "officially" listed as GF which makes me think that if you have cross contamination issues, it's not a good choice for you. This my friend is terrific Greek Food! The grilled octopus is the reason to be there, I will order this EVERY TIME I dine here. We ordered too many appetizers because they all sounded good, and they were! Gluten free pita for the tzatziki was a real treat for me. From the Gyro to the halibut, it was all fantastic. If I had one pause it was the size of the lamb burger (actual patty), a bit small - tasted so good just wish it was a little bigger. The gyro's were so big neither finished them. We sat next to the kitchen door and I worried it would be loud or too busy but we didn't even notice, and our waitress was perfect! She was attentive but did not rush us. Food was brought out as it was ready so it was a nice trickle of appetizer dishes. Oh and the baklava cheesecake is just wrong how good it is!!! Nice Bar to sit at if that's your preference (it's ours), two smaller dining rooms that are cozy, plus sidewalk seating. We had the grilled octopus (generous portion and nice dry or too charred) and gyro appetizer, shared the lamb chops. The baklava martini was an intriguing surprise and so yummy (desert in a glass). If the place is empty and you get there as they open, (4:30) you can not stay without a reservation. Even it's only soup and saganacki you want. We were told there were no reservations yet. We can only give 4 stars due to persistent issues with the front of the restaurant the 3 times we have visited. The service- Wait staff are edgy bordering on rude, appear to have too many tables to be attentive, which has detracted from our experience. Getting a cocktail on a Thursday evening- 20 minutes from ordering, items requested never brought(I.e. lemons with avgolemono), no refills on iced tea, not knowing what comes with the meal, etc. read more

My husband and I celebrated our 21st anniversary at Molos tonight. The service was wonderful, the atmosphere refreshing and relaxed. The food was exquisite and the portions large. We had not been to a Greek restaurant before, and our waiter kindly provided advice to help us. As someone with celiac it was refreshing that the gluten-free items were clearly marked on the menu. Very clean and bright upon entering. Was greeted by a young lady and seated and very quickly, no wait. We had a young gentleman as our server, very polite and very responsive. Was very helpful with the menu and drinks. I ordered the Skordalia with warm pita slices, for appetizers. Very good. I ordered a smoked old fashioned which was very good and my wife had a Moscato wine. For dinner my wife had the baked shrimp in ouzo red tomato sauce, talked with feta cheese. She said it tasted very well but was hoping for a little bit more feta. I told her now she knows to order extra feta on it. Me I had a little trouble picking what I wanted to eat but I have not had pasticcio in a while so that's what I ordered. Very good and very hot. I did not order the Avgolemono because I always make my own Greek soup and it's hard to find something that compares. I'm sure it was very good. We did not have any dessert as we were both full from what we ordered. I will say they need a little bit of help on the bussing of tables, but that seems to be a lot of restaurants problems. I would say overall it was a very good dinner and atmosphere. Service was very good. And I would recommend it and just remember they just opened it takes time. They are also the owners of the hen house next door. I saw a review regarding the house being racist, I would like to say I did not see anything racist about this restaurant. Just because you didn't get the service you liked it does not mean the restaurant is racist. It also looked like they covered all the races working in the restaurant so there's that. Everything we had was so delicious! The drink was also very good. We've been going to the Hen House for a few years for breakfast (next door) and decided to check out the "night time" restaurant. I love Greek food so we've checked out a few places in the area. This one is the best so far! And it's not only the food, the owners and the staff are just amazing. Truly you feel like you're family there. Keep that up, it's such a unique thing you just don't get at other places these days. My husband raved about his pork chop and the serving size was awesome! My chicken was great, grilled to perfection. The sauces with pita were delicious and the salad was a great balance for all of the meat and potato we were eating. Prices weren't outrageous for what you got and the quality of the food. Just a gem of a place, like the breakfast spot, and I highly recommend checking it out! read more

This is an amazing addition to Wheaton's restaurants. Actually, convenient location to Glen ELlyn also. The interior decor is interesting & fun. The wine list is excellent & service is good.
