You can request seating closer to the bar if you want to enjoy the music while dining. Otherwise, the window seats are nice if you're looking for something quieter, restaurant lighting is dim. They're also able to modify some dishes to be gluten free. The Poached Pear Salad was light and refreshing, GF if you omit the goat cheese "crouton." Though if you like goat cheese, it looked delectable, perfectly cooked. It's more like a small fried goat cheese patty (almost like a mozzarella stick). The risotto was well cooked, but nothing particularly memorable in terms of flavor or components (bacon, mushroom, pesto, parmesan butter). The cassoulet was bursting with flavor. They offer both a small and larger portion. The small is really just a few bites of duck, so if you're looking for something more filling, definitely go with the larger size, which feels closer to a standard entrée. You can omit the panko breadcrumbs to make it gluten free. The guava sorbet was a refreshing way to end the meal, served as a trio of scoops and a cookie (not GF). Portion sizes overall are just okay, as you're unlikely to have leftovers. Unless you order apps, an entrée, and dessert, you may not leave completely full. Drink-wise, they have cocktails, beers, one cider on tap (GF), and wine options. The Mint Julep (bourbon based) was strong, simple, and surprisingly tasty. Service was fine overall, though one gentleman stood out for being especially attentive and friendly (wish we caught his name). Pricing didn't quite match the quality, but would be open to return in future to try out other dishes.

I chose this restaurant for my birthday dinner going on my actual birthday. Friends of ours joined us for dinner. I chose to sit in the lounge area next to the bar, which is a smaller space than the dining room, more intimate. I enjoyed that space. There's a couple couches in front of a fireplace perfect to enjoy an after dinner drink. My friends brought a couple bottles of wine so we didn't order any cocktails or wine from the restaurant. Their corkage fee is $25 a bottle. The four of us started with appetizers to share. The deviled eggs were creamy and delicious. The charcuterie board was good but could've had another cheese on the board to match the three meats on the board. It was served with perfectly grilled baguette. The special appetizer for the evening was morel mushrooms. I love morel mushrooms, but these lacked flavor and the portion was small. That was a miss for me. For dinner, my husband had the crispy chicken milanese, which he thoroughly enjoyed. The chicken was topped with arugula, capers, manchego cheese, tomatoes. I opted to have a Caesar salad and the Spanish octopus appetizer for my dinner. Our server Carmen, who was so engaging and provided good service, said that the octopus was outstanding. He was right! It was the best octopus I ever had. Tender and flavorful. The owner stopped by our table to see if we were enjoying everything. I told him I didn't like the octopus at all and the chef needed to make me another one pronto, but he didn't buy it. I tried! It was noted on our reservation that it was my birthday and my friends bought a bouquet of flowers so it was pretty obvious, but the restaurant did not acknowledge it with a little dessert at the end of the meal. That was disappointing since I chose this place specifically to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant should make note when people are there to celebrate, do a little something special to mark the occasion. All in all, I still love this restaurant it would recommend it.

The host was very accommodating and made sure we were seated where we wanted. I ordered the Pitmaster with truffle fries, and both were easily a 10/10. The mac and cheese was a great side, and the fried pickles were the perfect addition to the meal. As someone who gets full pretty quickly, I ended up sharing my burger and fries, and there was still plenty to enjoy. It wasn't very busy when we first arrived, but the restaurant gradually filled up and became quite packed as the evening went on. Overall, a great experience with delicious food and a lively atmosphere!

We sat on the 2nd floor which has its own bar (nice since the wait staff doesn't need to go downstairs for drinks). This is a casual spot with lots of natural light coming in. There are plenty of TVs throughout which I noticed had sports on. Service throughout was OK. It did take awhile for our sever to take our order, check in, and bring drinks. I can understand if it was busy but that wasn't the case. I will say it wasn't like 45 mins of waiting, however, still not the greatest service. For food I ordered the social burger cooked well done and chose the side salad (minus feta). The dressing that comes with the salad is up my alley. I think it may have been some type of vinaigrette. Whatever it was, it was tangy and sour, I really liked it. The burger was also good. Since I'm pregnant I need to make sure all meats are thoroughly cooked. The burger was just that, cooked all the way through and no pink. Everything was delicious and I can see myself coming back.

This visit was extra meaningful because they quite literally saved my birthday evening. We had reservations at the new Bien Trucha in Wheaton, only to arrive and find it closed... with no notice. Not exactly festive. Enter Proof No. 5, swooping in like the culinary hero of the night. We enjoyed an exquisite tuna crudo, rich and beautifully balanced, and meatballs over polenta that felt like comfort dressed up for a celebration. The medallions with mushrooms and three sauces were excellent, layered, and deeply satisfying. And the cocktails? Some of the best crafted in the suburbs. Thoughtful, balanced, and dangerously easy to order a second. Warm atmosphere, consistently great food, and a team that delivers every time. We'll keep coming back. And back. And back.

Found out this place is closing soon and really sad I can't try all their dishes. Shared the Whipped Feta with olive spread on naan bread and gluten free bread. Really delicious and light and creamy. Had the wagon rider non alcoholic cocktail. Hint of raspberry and lime. My main meal I had the roasted beets salad and added salmon. Had the right amount of dressing. There were air dried and roasted beets. Get the crunch from air dried beets and pistachios. Also had a Light sweet taste. Have option to add steak, salmon, or chicken. Choose the salmon and was cooked perfectly. Very flaky and moist. There is free parking on the streets and not far from the parking garage.

The interior is dark with black leather booths and brick/wood paneling walls. Very "Old School" Their menus are all on an iPad which I have never seen before. It was broken down to different categories including Daily Specials. Their menu is extensive from wings, burgers, pizza, salads and home cooked comfort foods just like your grandma made. We started with drinks . They had a draft beer special so I ordered a draft beer and my wife ordered an Adult Arnold Palmer. Apparently their draft beer wasn't working so our server (Lucy) asked if a bottled beer would be ok. I was surprised when she charged me full price for the beer because it was bottled and not draft which was not my choice! My wife was brought her drink minus the alcohol.. apparently our server misunderstood her. I had their wings which were good in size and sauced perfectly. Very tender and juicy but I had to ask our server for some ranch dressing which normally comes with wings. My wife had the Blue Cheese Steak bites off the GF menu with a side of Garlic Mashed Potatoes. Again the server forgot her potatoes and charged her the wrong price since they had special pricing on the GF menu. They also charge a credit card processing fee. I would have given it 5 stars but again service was an issue. I would like to go back again to try one of their dinners or other Daily Specials when in the area.

I didn't care much for the mayonnaise they use, but the bacon was cooked as I requested (crispy) and there was a lot of it! I liked the fries that came with it. My husband really enjoyed the clam chowder that came with his meal as well as the fish and fries. The hush puppies were small and dry but those tend to be almost everywhere. His first round of fish was so filling he didn't even want or need a refill. The star of the show for me was the cheese quesadilla appetizer.
