After spending the morning at the Saturday French market, we decided to stop in here on a whim without reservations and were pleasantly surprised to be seated right away. Even though the restaurant was extremely busy with Mother's Day weekend and graduation celebrations, the atmosphere still felt warm, inviting and relaxed. The interior has a modern yet cozy feel with beautiful lighting, and the menu offers and an impressive variety of dishes, especially for those looking for a healthier options. Vegans, vegetarian, and gluten-free diners will have no problem finding plenty of delicious choices here. Since the kitchen was packed, our food took about 40 minutes to come out, but everything tasted fresh. 5/5 stars: Huevos Locos- the flavors are bold, rich, and perfectly balanced with every bite somehow better than the last. 5/5 stars:the Figgy Salad- my friend ordered their famous figgy salad, which was gorgeous and delicious. It had the perfect crunch, fresh ingredients, and a great mix of Sweet n Savory flavors that made it really stand out. 5/5 stars: Apple Ricotta Almond Cake- it was soft moist and practically melted in your mouth. Honestly, I tasted far too indulgent to be gluten-free and the best way possible. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would absolutely come back. Think "high-end cool kid table energy" with none of the charm. We were escorted to the back by someone who looked like we'd interrupted her mid-eye roll practice. Our server followed suit, radiating the same "ugh, what do you want now?" energy. And it wasn't just a fluke--I had a similar frosty encounter a few days prior with the carry-out crew. Someone's been sprinkling aloofness instead of hospitality. Luckily, the kitchen is still holding it down like pros. My friend and I split the FIGGY GREEN SALAD--a fresh, vibrant flavor party--and the Seeded Salmon in that turmeric curry broth? Chef's kiss. Very poor service. Waitress/ hostess chatting away with a friend ignored us as we stood by the front desk. After finally being seated, we were never offered drinks or given a wine list. We were given water and ignored for another 10 minutes at which point we walked out. It seems nobody is in charge of this place. read more

Wednesday afternoon we sat on the couch by the front window. Very cozy upscale style. Gold accent with black trim against white. We didn't plan on eating here and they were nice to allow us time to browse their menu. We had Fairy Tale Expresso Martini. Very strong Expresso and is made with almond milk. So delicious and definitely kept me up for the night. We shared the Baked cheese topped with pomegranate seeds, pumpkin seeds, and something else I can't recall. The cheese held together pretty well and was like a spread to place on the crostini. Wasn't messy to eat and all the flavors went well together and were amazing. Earthy and a hint of spice that isn't over whelming. Don't realize the spice after a few more bites. Then we shared the Red wine braised short ribs. They split the entree for us and it was plenty of food. The polenta was delicious with the sauce. The braised short ribs fell apart easily. The arugula, onions, and shaved fennel made the dish very pretty. Definitely recommended trying this dish. The roads were a bit confusing with the one way lanes only but plenty of parking spots on the streets. read more

Though, recently had their burger which was quite good and I'd say better than other spots in DT Wheaton. Their fries and aiolis are always a highlight. The service is top notch, very classy. I've been to Moveable Feast more than a dozen times, but the last time I went, I realized, I need to write a review. The staff is consistently some of the most kind attentive people in the industry. Every single time I've been there, they make a well presented and well prepared meal. I just appreciate that for a place that has been there as long as they have, they've kept their standards high, and haven't degraded a single bit. The interior is as nice and clean as opening day. Everything was delicious! The baked cheese was a pleasant surprise -- almost soufflé-like -- and topped beautifully with mixed greens, pomegranate seeds, and pepitas. The short ribs with polenta were perfectly balanced; the sauce tied everything together, the polenta had a great hearty thickness (not overly creamy), and the short rib itself was perfect . The Faith Tale espresso was excellent -- well-balanced, with the vanilla adding a warm, subtle touch that made it extra special. Had a very nice lunch here in downtown Wheaton. The downtown area is lovely and this is the perfect spot for lunch. The Feast Burger was delicious and perfectly cooked. I had the smoked sweet potato wedges. Dipping them in the artichoke aioli was sublime. My friend enjoyed the club sandwich especially because of the avocados. Cranberry mimosas were delicious and we loved the rosemary garnish but thought the $12 price tag was a bit excessive. The ambiance can't be beat with the attractive decor and comfortable seating. We had such a wonderful experience dining here! I went with my parents and brought along my 4-month-old daughter, and we were seated immediately and outside (exactly what we wanted). The food was absolutely delicious--everything tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful. My mom and I tried the Zanahorita cocktail and loved it--it's such a unique and refreshing drink. I had the Tandoori Chicken Bowl which was packed with flavor and also felt healthy and satisfying. My mom ordered the chicken sandwich, and we all couldn't stop talking about the fries. What a great experience we had today at movable feast in Wheaton. We sat outside under a tent that was lit on the ceiling; the breezes blew through and we were completely comfortable. The staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our server, Alex, was outstanding: personable, extremely outgoing and friendly, and knew the menu and the other items like the back of his hand. What a memory! He made ordering fun and easy with all the information he provided us. His service was prompt and always with a smile. The food was absolutely delicious. I think the sweet potatoes were my favorite... so flavorful, with great texture. The aoli sauce for dipping and to put on the sandwich that I ordered is out of this world. The sandwich was on delicious bread with generous pile of Turkey and all the trimmings like cheese tomatoes lettuce and the aioli sauce. Our scone desserts with cream cheese frosting on them were out of this world. We sat and talked, three old friends who don't see each other that often, and we're never disturbed or asked to leave or rushed. It was a wonderful day. Moveable Feast is a cute spot that is great for a healthy brunch outing. Unlike most brunch spots they do take reservations which can be made via their website. The decor is of farmhouse vibes making the experience feel like you're in a cozy small town. Unfortunately for my friend and I - we were over the top cozy as we were seated in a very secluded and hidden corner of the establishment. When asked to be seated in the main dining area we were told that those seats are for people with reservations. My friend did make a reservation which she restated however they insisted the area is the same anywhere we sit..It is not.. at all..lol.. This interaction was an interesting start to our time here however the food/drinks made up for it. I started with a sea salt matcha latte (with oat milk) and it was tasty. Matcha quality was pretty standard compared to other brunch places and I appreciated that it wasn't full of sugar. For food I had the grain bowl and added poached eggs at an upcharge. The eggs came out hardboiled and not poached. That was a let down however the bowl itself was delicious. All of the ingredients paired very well together, the portion was generous and I really enjoyed it. I will say - the food is 5 stars all the way. I'd come back just for the food. Maybe I'll sit at the bar area or hopefully get seated in the main dining area next time. read more

Moveable Feast is one of my favorite brunch spots in the west suburbs but I have been slightly disappointed in my last two experiences. Recently I made a reservation for two on a Saturday around 11pm. After checking in, the host brought us back to a seating area adjacent to the daily market. When I asked if we could instead be seated in the main dining area, they said it was full because of reservations... which I had also made. There were definitely multiple tables open when arriving. Because we were sat in the back area, service was significantly slower. It took about 10 minutes before our server greeted us and took our coffee/food order and another 15 min before our drinks came to us. Previously, I had came with my partner without a reservation at 10am when they opened and it was a similar conversation that without a reservation, we could only sit in the bar area as everything else was reserved. The bar couch seats are very low compared to the table height which made eating uncomfortable. The entire time we dined, many seats in the main dining area were open we could have sat at. I will say that all items (food and drinks) are ALWAYS delicious and have a great presentation. Serving staff is always friendly. I am never disappointed with what I order but there seems to be a disconnect in host service and accommodations within the last few months. I hope to see changes for next time I suggest coming to Moveable Feast. read more

Absolutely love this place! The best people--amazing service every time. It's the only spot I've found that's completely free of inflammatory oils and still manages to be genuinely creative and delicious. The hidden cafe in the back is such a gem. Great coffee, and the desserts? Next level. The flourless chocolate cake is seriously to die for. I moved from SF (definitely over that vibe) and have had my share of "millionaire's bacon," so the fact that MFCO calls theirs billionaire's bacon made me laugh, so spot on! It's become a go-to for my husband and me. We even brought his family when they visited from the West Coast, and they loved it even though it is something totally different from what they're used to seeing. IYKYK! On that note, LOVE the signs. PLEASE never take those down. I do wish the *banner* was still up though haha! It would've been hilarious to see their reactions. Definitely not their "cup of tea" which is exactly why it would've been amazing LOLLL We pre-celebrated my husband's birthday here and everything was just right: thoughtful dishes, the warmest service, and an inviting atmosphere. Came here for an impromptu dinner around 7pm on a Tuesday and got seated right away. They have plenty of outdoor seating. Staff was friendly, patient, and quick. Mf bs - creamy and sweet. Distinct bourbon flavor. Feast burger - kind of Greek taste. I liked the pickled veg with the creamy sauce. Fries were super crispy and we were able to get them unsalted for our baby Taco Tuesday red snapper - a little dry but still pretty good. We came in for lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant was mostly empty but we were told that since we didn't have a reservation we would need to wait 30 mins. There were seats at the bar but that wasn't an option. The political/religious sign outside was also so off putting. The owners are entitled to their opinion but don't need to preach it to potential customers. If Yelp allowed a no star rating I would incorporate it in this review. I utilized this restaurant to supply food for a wedding. The food was ideal but the customer service was horrific. During the wedding the Onsite Venue Representative was very sharp and rude to the wedding party. This disrespect ensued yelling and micromanaging vendors on site. Throughout the entire event the representative was a massive distraction by disrespecting the family and making executive decisions without proper consent. The emotional tirade curtailed vendors from doing their jobs effectively, and casted a dark cloud over a unique and special event. To report this hellacious experience I reached out to the Director. After ignoring my initial feedback, she finally responded by not taking accountability of the issue that transpired from her rep and becoming complacent to the actions that were documented. Such a perfect patio brunch spot! Came on a Saturday morning. We had a group of 6 with a reservation, but there seemed to be tables available so you could walk up without a wait with a smaller group. I love the open streets with the tents and outdoor seating so much still. So glad these stuck around post-COVID restrictions! I was super excited about this brunch menu. I ultimately decided on the matcha lemonade for myself, and I loved it. A low key way to caffeinate with bubbles that wasn't too sweet! My boyfriend also loved his Hummingbird cocktail as a good twist on the classic brunch bubbles. I loved my farmers blt. Really crisp, fresh ingredients and the bacon had a perfect combo of sweet and salty! Friends also tried the huevos locos and fried chicken sammie which were both good. The fried chicken sammie was a little dry, but I think I'd order the huevos locos on my next visit. The fries were also great, but the dip they came with was amazingggg.
