I have never eaten here but decided to give it a shot tonight so ce they offered delivery due to our situation. I ordered dinner tonight from Molto Bene. Located on Merrick road just west of park place in bellmore It was DELICIOUS. We had escargot in a pesto sauce, shrimp francese and veal Genevese which was in a sherry sauce with artichoke hearts and mushrooms. Vegies and roasted potatoes and they gave us a piece of tiramisu on the house. I will definitely order from there again. read more

Beyond ridiculous. Did restaurant week. No food at all. The sauce was terrible with the the small amount of pasta that was given. My 20 year old son,that would eat anything, said the dessert was gross. Meh. Just got take out because my favorite - Bella Notte - is "closed temporarily". We ordered the Stuffed Artichoke and Penne Ala Vodka with a side of meatballs. The Artichoke couldn't touch Bella Notte version with a 100 foot pole. Not a lot of bread crumbs or flavor and super duper greasy. Like orange greasy. The penne was just ok. The flavor was just ok. No pancetta or any other kind of meat. The meatballs were horrible. Small, rubbery. Tasted like canned meat or something. Won't be back. read more

Very tiny place. They had way too many things on special that you could never remember them all (10 specials is too much) They should specialize in one or two main items that are their"wow" dishes. Nothing was great at all. Our hot appetizer for two was cold. The big clams and that dish was all dried out, the muscles tasted fishy and the fried mozzarella was cold so the cheese was hard. Chicken Parm was OK but nothing memorable. The side of penne with Bolognese sauce tasted old and was discolored. Looking for a new Italian Restaurant, my girlfriend found Molto Bene. We were graciously greeted and seated. Wait staff could not do enough for you. Excellent service. The Molto Bene Salad was huge, my husband and I split it. Great combination of flavors and dressing. I am always a little hesitant when it comes to ordering eggplant parm, but I did. Eggplant was sliced so thin, breaded and fried to perfection. The sauce was so tasty. My husband had the pappardale with sausage and meatball which was also excellent. Italian bread served was a hearty tuscan bread . At the end of our meal compliments of the house we had tirimusu and fresh biscotti. Meals priced fair, especially for the amount of food served. Terrible. Had a Saturday night reservation. We get there to see a bar loaded with people with reservations who were told to just wait. The hostess could care less that they totally overbooked and that everyone waiting was in for at least an hour to hour and a half wait. Unacceptable. This is the second time this has happened to me personally and I have heard many other similar stories. We left and called Bella note. We were told we would hAve a short wait but they would accommodate us. We went there directly. Had a ten minute wait and enjoyed a delicious meal with great service. We will never go back to molte bene and will Choose Bella note instead. I suggest you do the same. read more

Went here yesterday with my wife, brother in law and his girlfriend. They had a price fix menu that included an appetizer, entree, and dessert. The price was $35 a person. The appetizer I had were the baked clams. They were the 4 smallest clams I've ever seen in a restaurant. The entree I had was the stuffed rigatoni bolognese. The rigatoni and sauce were the best I ever had, unfortunately also the smallest portion I've ever been served in a restaurant. The dessert I had was the cheesecake. Wasn't really a fan, it was ok. The fact that I paid $35 dollars for dinner and had to hit Wendy's on the way home is terrible. I was literally starving. You try not to eat close to going out to dinner so you can enjoy the meal. The fish my wife had was also delicious just super small. She also left hungry. $200 for dinner and I have to hit Wendy's, would never go back. read more

We moved out of state a few years ago so whenever we come back to New York to visit family and friends I quite naturally want good food that I can't easily get and Italian is always top of the list. A friend recommended we try Molto Bene and they were very right. First of all, Tim the owner makes you feel right at home. He is so welcoming you feel as if you have known him for years. I notice everybody who walked in received a big, warm welcome and the place was very busy. My family was promptly seated and the staff was so attentive I felt like I was at a five star restaurant in upper Manhattan. The menu was extensive and so were the specials. We had the Fried Calamari and the Grilled Octopus on a bed of Arugula to start. The Calamari was one of the best I ever had, and I usually don't order it because it is a typical menu item at a lot of restaurants and I like to be adventurous when dining and try new things. The Grilled Octopus was also just perfect! Next, I had the Seafood over Black Linguine, my husband had the Veal Chop Molto Bene and my son and daughter both had the Stuffed Rigatoni Bolognese. My husband and I were amazed - the quality of all the food was exceptionally high. The seafood was so fresh it had that "pop" when you bit into it and the sauce over the black linguine just tied the whole dish together very nicely. My husband was also thrilled. His veal chop cut like butter, which is why you order veal in the first place but does not often happen. He is usually very talkative, even during dinner, but after the first bite I noticed that he didn't say a word until he was done! "Perfecto!" he said, his plate was clean, and we all agreed! I was full because the portions were so generous so I did not have dessert but my family enjoyed their Tartufos and Italian Cheesecake. Tim generously offered us after dinner drinks on the house which just capped off the already very enjoyable and perfect evening. We will have to make the point to have dinner at Molto Bene every time we are in New York. We will definitely be back! read more

If you are looking for a intimate dinner for 4 or less I'd say THIS is a GREAT place to find Classic Italian from Apps. - Dessert! However do NOT attempt to share a meal w'a group of friends or family!!! We reserved a table for 17, and a table for 15 was ready @ 7 on a Sat. night as requested. We were lucky that someone cancelled @ last min. and our poor 16th person was forced to sit in the main aisle from the Kit. Lucky she was fairly short because every meal that was served, after she sat, literally was carried over her! 7 ladies sat w'little room to breath against a wall and the other 7 had about the same amount of room and were repeatedly asked to move in as the tables behind them were seated and/or a waiter passed. Only the lucky person at the 'head' of the table was comfortable, though she paid for that comfort by only being able to talk w'2 of the other 13 because of the noise level! Orders were placed and food was brought out in a timely way with all being served reasonably at the same time and all orders were correct. The problem occured when some did not get a side &/or their pasta which was promised when they mentioned it to the server. Left alone completly till our plates were needing to be carried away, someone FINALLY snagged the waiter to ask about various missing sides or pastas and he had the temerity to say "Why didn't you ask this one of the 3 times I asked how things were?" I happened to be sitting facing the entire room and this simply did NOT happen! When presented w'the check it was 16 orders in short hand, w'such small writing & w'NO prices it was IMPOSSIBLE to find one's order and what was owed. We were 16 new to each other ladies, some had entire dinners (upwards of $40) and others just soup & salad ($20), some had extra Vegs and others had 10$ glasses of wine, esppressos, etc. It was simply not right to just divide by 16. Our Host had been told checks would be done in groups of 4 and when this was repeated our waiter effectively shrugged his shoulders and said that would take him +20min., this was after we had to chase him down to get the check at all! This the SAME waiter that said he had checked on our table 3 times! Any restaurant that can't handle a large table should simply not take the reservation! We all know 'service people' have their good/bad days but when it affects a group whose bill & tip was almost $700.00 you'd think they would want you back! Likely a relative of the owner, I'm here to say this waiter is not doing your reputation much good and it's doubtfull ANY of our group is going to bring THEIR friends or family back after such an evening! I will say that most enjoyed their food very much. Conversation, other than with those sitting immediataly adjacent to you was impossible, which is ANOTHER reason to go as a couple or at most a table of 4. The NOISE level in this place is horrendous as is the parking situation so bring only one car! For an enjoyable dinner w'more than 3 others choose someplace else! read more

I had heard from people at work that this place was overpriced and not very good, so today was my first visit despite having worked around the corner for almost a year! I should have come much earlier and checked it out myself, which is why I'm now writing this review. Yelp is awesome, but you have to take every review with a grain of salt, and know that your own experience might be completely different to what you expect! This is a nice restaurant. The food is great, and well matched with excellent service in an elegant setting. The bruschetta is fresh and richly seasoned, served in manageably sized pieces. There are lots of vegetarian options. The lasagna in particular was great, the thinly sliced vegetables nicely tender, with just a hint of ricotta and plenty of sauce. Portions are huge. There's an extensive wine list, and the glasses are enormous. The house wines are quite drinkable. Great fresh biscotti. It's true that this restaurant makes for a more expensive night out than some other places around here. However, if you're looking for a special experience, I would definitely recommend Molto Bene. read more

Our first visit was September 30th for our anniversary. We could not ask for better service or food. Presentation, service and quality was top notch. Definitely a great experience only to be topped by our second visit. On our second visit, December 9th, we were paired up with our original server, Samantha, and my wife and I could not believe that she remembered us from two and a half months before. It felt like we were with old friends instantly. On our second visit the food and service did not disappoint. My wife who only orders chicken, chicken and chicken actually ordered the duck special and demolished it! I had the veal Molto Bene on my first visit and ordered it again hoping not to be disappointed the second time around. I wasn't. It was better than the first time. Be aware that the place only has about a dozen tables and has a steady stream of regulars though as I mentioned newcomers are made more than welcome. so we decided to give Molte Bene a second chance last night. Big mistake. We had a 630pm reservation. We were not seated until after 7pm. I can deal with that. We got a bread basket which we each had a piece. when my husband went to take a second slice..he found 2 half eaten French fries in the bread basket. the manager said I'm sorry..ill bring you more bread. It wasn't about the bread. It was about half eaten food in the basket. So not clean. The owner came over 8 min. later and said I yelled at the Busboy. No apology. We already canceled our food. Absolutely delicious from start to finish! Decided to give this tucked away gem a try since I've passed for years, and kick myself for not trying it sooner! Parking is a challenge, if it weren't for my (ret) Nypd hubby we would never have squeezed out of the lot. Cute tiny tucked away place in merrick rd , walking in gives an immediate old school feel. Although it's linen tables there was a mix of the silver haired diners as well as the off the beach casual diners. Generous pour of wine is always a good start, and the rustic authentic table bread was warm and perfect. Special oyster appetizer was over the top succulent and yes- we dunked our bread in the mouth watering sauce. Chicken Parmesan is old school- perfectly pounded and slathered with sauce and cheese, accompanied by a generous side of pasta. The Zupa de Pesce I asked for fresh pasta instead of risotto and they gracefully obliged and let me tell you it was amazing!! Restaurant Week - very disappointed. It was quite clear 6:30 pm reservations on Saturday night during Restaurant Week is not favored by this establishment. Seated at 6:40 and practically pushed out the door by 7:30 pm. Dishes were being pulled away before barely finishing each course. End of night... the food was fair to good, overly packed (probably not to safety code), and getting together with good friends was cut very short. Certain they served many more people after 7pm at the usual menu pricing. Will certainly not be rushing back to Molto Bene. read more

Both the kitchen and the service are consistently excellent at this place. Been here about 10 times and they really have their game down. Highly recommend any of their veal dishes. They always have nightly specials, although the specials don't change much. Wine list is reasonably priced with some nice selections. Cocktails are pretty standard but get the job done. This is an old school kind of place, and the crowd reflects that - it's a more mature crowd. Not hip or trendy, more of a romantic vibe. He suggested the perfect menu and there was more than enough food at each course! A big thank you to Timmy, Brian and Benny in the FOH and his team in the BOH! June 1 was the first time that we visited the restaurant, Molto Bene. We were extremely impressed with the food. Each dish had a beautiful presentation. Everybody's meal was absolutely incredible and delicious. I had the freshest halibut I ever had in a restaurant & prepared to perfection. Even though they were busy, we still received our food in a reasonable amount of time. I like the fact that they had linen tablecloths and they frequently refilled the water.
