During a recent visit to south central PA I made a point of stopping in to Momma Spriggs for dinner. I planned to meet friends from the local area and couldn't think of a better place. Cindy and Steve run a great Resteraunt. The food is awesome and the service is friendly. If you are a fan of good home made deserts stop by and see what Cindy has created. Stopped in for lunch today and was very pleased...as I walked in I was lured to the display case showing some great looking deserts and was greeted by a extremely nice hostess. The lunch menu consisted of a few appetizers with a wide variety of salads, burger, wraps, flatbreads and sandwiches. All of these items were listed at a very reasonable price. Our group started out with the crab chips, which consisted of homemade chips, cheese and of course crab meat. The chips were super crunchy, and the cheese was melted perfected with pretty of crab meat to go around. I ordered a ranch flatbread, while the others in my group ordered turkey clubs, chicken tenders and some grilled cheeses (for the kidos). Everything looked and smelled good...and the portions were good sized. I finished up with some tiramisu, which was very good. As far as the restaurant, there was plenty of parking. The inside had a modern feel with a touch of local diner. The staff was super friendly. Very nice--more upscale than the "diner" vibe in the last two restaurants that occupied this location, but still a reasonably priced family restaurant. Service, decor, food, all very good for the price. We visited on a Sunday after 11 am and found that only the dinner menu was being offered--a clear indication--along with changes to the decor--that this was no longer a "breakfast 24 hours" kind of place. Service and atmosphere all very good. They are obviously working hard to make a good impression on first time customers. The burgers look great, but we chose the chicken and salmon dishes (pics posted). Again, food very good for the prices (~15ish, as I recall). We will have to visit again and see how the lunch options stack up. I don't think they have a liquor license and I didn't see a clear indication they you can BYOB. The dessert options were very limited, but hopefully that will improve over time. According to the reviews posted on a different site, the food at breakfast and lunch are equally good. We are new to Carlisle and had heard good reports from friends here, so we finally tried it for lunch. Wherever I've lived throughout the States in my Air Force career I've enjoyed fish and chips, so I tried Momma Springs version. It was so bad I should have asked our server to return it, but I didn't. The fish consisted of two thin frozen strips... overcooked to the point of being burned in the deep fat, and mediocre fries. So my first experience with this restaurant will most likely be my last. read more

The dining area is clean and the noise level is not too loud. The menu has a good variety of options. The burger and the pasta were both very good and the portions were ample. I have been at this restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner (several of each), and have never had a bad meal here. The food is delicious and the desserts are always worth the calories to me! For breakfast I actually love their coffee as well as the egg omelet with crab - one of my favorite meals ever. Lunch may be my least favorite meal there, but still amazing. They are also a place that makes pasta correctly in my opinion, and their meatballs are delicious. I haven't been here in a couple of months and I think it's time to visit again! read more

We had a wonderful dinner at Momma Spriggs! The staff was very attentive and super respectful of our specific needs. All were wearing masks and tables were wiped down between guests. My first visit to this popular restaurant in Carlisle. I've heard a number of favorable comments so I thought I would give it a try for dinner. Ordered the Black and Blue Steak. The New York strip steak itself was excellent and cooked to a perfect medium rare as ordered. But it went downhill from there. The steak was topped with grilled onions and blue cheese. The onions were undercooked, limp and watery which made the cheese very watery. The baked potato was served warm, at best. Cool enough that the butter on top didn't melt. Cole slaw was excellent. My sister and brother-in-law had the same complaint that their dinners were only warm at best. Momma Spriggs showed promise but it needs work in the kitchen. As an aside, if you go here for dinner, don't sit at a table. Take a booth. Tables were recently refinished and the tops are very tacky. Everything, including your arms, want to stick to the table. I get curbside takeout from here at its been very good. Meals have always been correct according to what we have ordered food is hot and delicious. Love the broasted chicken, it is always moist and flavorful. Kids meals are plentiful too. Staff on the phone and person who brings it to the car are friendly and very helpful if I have questions. Decent diner to stop into while in the Carlisle area with a wide variety of seating options. The menu itself has a lot to offer, and during my recent visit I ordered the Cobb salad. Unfortunately, the salad itself was okay and wasn't anything special. I was most surprised by the small portion size and afterwards was still a little hungry. If I were to come back for any reason, I would stay away from the salads and try one of their sandwiches or wraps based upon the waitress recommendations. read more

I had lunch here with my co-workers last Wednesday. To say it was busy would be an understatement! I ordered to Cobb salad. My co-workers also ordered salads. Our food arrived quickly and was very tasty. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the items on the menu. Momma Spriggs both indoor and outdoor seating. The back patio was entirely shaded so my wife and I decided to dine there. We arrived at lunchtime so that was the menu we were provided. The service was quick and very attentive. Beverage refills were provided without request. We started with the Crabby Momma Pretzel. I believe it should be called Cheese Pretzel with Crab. It was inundated with cheddar cheese and i didn't taste a whole lot of crab. Think I'll stick with plain soft pretzls and mustard. We left over half of it. My wife had the Baja Wrap, shrimp, tomato, bacon, lettuce, cheddar and chipotle ranch, which she thoroughly enjoyed though. I had the Smoked Turkey sandwich and chips. Smoked turkey, bacon, Swiss and honey mustard. It was delicious. The price was very reasonable as well. Even with the pretzel I give Momma Spriggs five stars. I don't get to Carlisle often but if I'm back there again and looking for lunch, there are other offerings I will definitely try. read more

We were looking for a place we hadn't been to before and found this restaurant, so we thought we'd give it a try for lunch.The lot was pretty full but when we got inside there were plenty of tables available. Staff was friendly and helpful with the days specials. We ordered French Onion Soup and New England Clam Soup for starters. We thought they were both a bit salty. Next we had lunch portion Lasagna with a side salad and a Nut and Berry salad. The salad was very good but the Lasagna was ok, just ok. The sauce was over powered by the cheese, I never had that happen before. All things considered not a bad place and we will probably be back. It's also a byob so maybe for dinner. read more
