3.5 stars. Pretty decent sushi place in the area. I came here for lunch and my friend and I ordered a bento set each. We were satisfied with the meal but not blown away. I liked how the set comes with salad, miso soup, and also konjac noodles. The quality of the sashimi here is pretty decent! My favourite Gastown sushi spot of all time! Little hole in the wall spot that has just the best vibe. Lots of little side booths with good lighting but also good privacy, feels like you're transported into your own little sushi vortex. got a miso soup and the salmon Oshi. Really love their miso and it's a must have every time. The salmon oshi had some thin sliced jalapeños on top, as well as some white and brown sauce on top - didn't need any additional soy sauce because it was so delicious and flavourful on its own! This place is admittedly a great place for the price. For all the boxes except B, you can choose either chicken or beef teriyaki with it. Our box A is an example of the chicken teriyaki while box D is an example of the beef teriyaki. Box A - $15.50 At least for me, that's a great price (in 2024) for a bento box. Everything was decent but wish there were more meat based tempura instead of mainly veggie tempura. Box C - $20.50 This is a box I'd get if I hadn't had food the whole day. Great portion and taste. We had the very good meal here. We returned around 830 on a different rainy night. They are open until 9 but told us they stopped serving at 830. It seems like a small restaurant from outside, but they have a decent amount of seating and space for a larger group of 6 close to the kitchen. Their menu is pretty standard. I went with the spicy combo and added on a negitoro roll. The spicy combo was around $14 and came with miso soup. The soup was a bit too salty for my liking. Could have been diluted with a bit more water. The rolls came out pretty fast. Spicy tuna had some small pieces of white onion, which I'm not a huge fan of but I didn't notice it too much with the spicy tuna in it. The chopped scallop is different in that it's on top of the sushi roll. And really it was just a squeeze of spicy sauce on top. The negitoro was quite good as the toro was decently fatty and I liked that it was in a larger piece rather than finely chopped up. I thought the fish to rice ratio was pretty good. Although I found the rice to be a bit on the dryer side. Considering price and portion, it's quite reasonable. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here, but for the area, it's a good option. I ordered the Sashimi Assortment, which came with three fat chunks of salmon and tuna as well as a couple pieces of octopus, shrimp, and more fish. My one qualm was that it included two pieces of tamago - not trying to pay $25 for some egg, I wish they replaced that with two pieces of other fish. Other than that, I had no problems at all. Momo sushi is a pretty normal affordable sushi restaurant. It's not too bad for the price. I ordered the deluxe sashimi, Vancouver spider roll and the red dragon roll. The sashimi was very thick, which is something I am okay with. Salmon, sockeye salmon, and the tuna was the most clean and fresh tasting. The tako, hokigai, ebi and tamago was pretty average. Saba was extra fishy. Vancouver spider roll had Soft shell crab, crab meat, cucumber, tobiko, avocado, unagi sauce, wrapped in seaweed. This was the star with its deliciously battered soft shell crap that was juicy tender and seasoned in contrast with the other items it was a great roll. Red dragon roll had cucumber, lettuce, avocado, crabmeat, scallop, prawn tempura, salmon, tobiko, white sauce and unagi sauce. Pretty normal red dragon roll, nothing too amazing. This was takeout so can't really rate the staff or atmosphere. Overall, It's a pretty normal affordable sushi restaurant. Not the best or the worst. read more

Momo Sushi is a Gastown gem! I could not believe how inexpensive and also delicious their sushi rolls were. We stopped in on a Tuesday night and were seated almost immediately into a booth. Although the place looks small when you first enter they have an entire floor beneath, overall a super cool looking interior especially with the neon diner-style sign over the staircase. It didn't take long for us to order and get our sushi, I ordered some salmon nigiri and a house roll and my partner ordered a BC roll and a tuna roll. As it usually goes, I liked what my partner ordered more so I ended up eating most of his BC roll and he took most of my house roll. Don't get me wrong they were both so fresh and tasty. It was just something about the cooked salmon in the BC roll that made it so darn delicious, a must-try! Also, the salmon nigiri was melt in your mouth delicious. We only ended up spending about $35 CAN so only a little over $25 USD. An absolute crazy low cost for delicious sushi. Highly recommend including Momo Sushi in your Gastown adventures! read more

The spicy tuna and spicy scallop hit the spot but I'm not sure if the spicy sauce masked quite a fish taste from both the scallop and tuna -- a not super great "fishy taste" I'm talkin' about. The veggie combo was awesome thought with the yam tempura roll, kappa roll and avocado roll. The avocado was just perfectly melting in your mouth. Did staff forget to clean this? The dinner box deal was definitely unbeatable! So much food for the price we paid! Food tasted okay overall. I didn't like the texture of rice in sushi. It was a bit dry. My besty didn't like the taste of Karaage in the dinner box. I ended up taking Tempura pieces home because of HUGE food portion. The good- food came out fast. Price is inexpensive for what we ate. You can choose any 1 of classic rolls for the Dinner Box (eg. Avocado Roll, Chopped Scallop Roll or other ones). I like the variety of Tempura in my Dinner Box (there was also a Salmon Tempura in it). Food is average; however you'll leave this resto feeling full. Momo Sushi is a fine place to get quality sushi at a relatively cheap price. I usually elect to get their bento boxes which range from $12-16 depending on what you prefer. I find their ingredients to be quite fresh and the staff to be friendly everytime that I have visited. The chicken karage I got could have been fried for a little longer. I got their udon one visit and the flavour was a bit bland for my taste. The restaurant has limited seating so you may have a bit of a wait if you go on a Friday evening. read more
