This cafe was adorable. The food was not only flavorful, but beautifully presented as well. The cookie was baked to soft perfection. I went with a friend who thankfully knew to join the waitlist about an hour before we planned to arrive, which made the wait very manageable. Had we not known that important little tip, we probably would've been waiting close to an hour. Overall, it was such a pleasant experience, and I'd definitely go back again.

However, my last experience with this establishment left a horrible taste in my mouth. Therefore, I am giving them an extra star for the previous experiences. On May 17th, 2026, my best friend and I had been looking forward to coming to Water Oak all day and had our taste buds set for the occasion. We were famished and had quite a day up until arriving. Upon entering the restaurant, we were very briefly greeted by the a Hispanic man who I assume is the manager and told that they were "no longer seating for the day". I glanced around and saw that every table inside WAS seated, however there were many tables outside that were empty. I asked about the patio stating that us where we preferred to sit anyway, and was met with that they were also not seating the patio at all for the rest of the day. However, there was a group of 3 women seated outside on the patio at that exact time. I didn't say anything, simply turned and left. After having "one of those days" hashing out something so minute with a person who clearly didn't want us in their place of business was not something I was about to do. Keep in mind, we came on a Sunday afternoon. Prime brunch time. We arrived at the restaurant around 2:30PM, and their website says they don't close until 4PM. I am a biracial black woman and my friend is white. I noticed a significant amount of White and Latino patrons, but a shocking lack of Black people. With Houston having one of the most diverse populations in the US, it is almost impossible not to see at least one individual of each ethnicity in a place at any given time. I am definitely not one that likes to pull the race card, because oftentimes that is not the issue. However, as someone who is familiar with the service industry I understand Sundays can be extremely overwhelming. And I am cognizant that not everything is that serious. But, I am also aware that a lot of people in the industry discriminate against people of color, with stigmas that we don't leave enough gratuity or we "don't fit the vibe of their establishment". And those 3 women seated on the patio? All White. After reading recent reviews, it seems that management is discriminating against people of color, more specifically Black folks. This is an extremely disheartening and sickening realization to make, seeing as I have given well over $1,000 worth of my money here but also enjoyed many meals without issue. To management: It breaks my heart to have to write this review and to be honest, I wouldn't have written it if I hadn't seen others posting about similar experiences in addition to also feeling discriminated against. I highly suggest that if you are "not seating" after a specific time, you announce this via social media or alert potential patrons with a sign or something of the sort. & obviously, there is such an issue with treatment towards POC that it is a noteworthy problem via your Google & Yelp reviews. You will have a much bigger fish to fry on your hands if you continue to let this issue go on unrectified. I would be willing to return if I felt things were to be changed for the better in the future! Hopefully this review sparks a much needed conversation and brings attention to an area which needs work.

This is NOT the type of bakery where you can set down, and have a cup of coffee with your favorite treat. They don't serve warm beverages here anyway. Craved Creations is pick up only. You can order special cakes and other sweets, of course. Since this is a small bakery, stock is limited. You'll never know what desserts are available until you walk in or call them. There's cookies, cupcakes, cake pops, cinnamon rolls, cookie sandwiches and macarons. Everything is homemade, fresh from the kitchen. They don't sell whole cakes or cake slices. You can sample cake flavors, but only for parties and events. I've seen some photos of their customized cakes and designer cookies. The staff do excellent work! Their prices are surprisingly reasonable. Me and my family would love to order from Craved Creations in the near future!

Only issue is you have to order at least 2-3 weeks out so plan in advance. But I think they now stock a few blank cakes for pickup which is fantastic. A few pics below including a blank one I added flowers to (make sure you cover bottom of flowers in plastic wrap before putting in cake). Love them so much and they taste DELISH!

I explained that we simply wanted hibiscus mango tea with lychee jelly and boba, and I was explicitly told there would be no added sugar in the drinks. When I tasted mine, it was unbearably sweet--honestly, it tasted like Kool-Aid. I brought it back to the counter because this was clearly not what I had asked for. Only then was I told that the mango syrup they use is already sweetened. Had that been explained when I ordered--especially after I specifically asked about the sugar--I absolutely would not have ordered it that way. I wasn't asking them to remake the drinks because I changed my mind or didn't like the flavor. I ordered based on incorrect information their employee gave me. Yet when I asked if they could remake the drinks without the sweetened mango syrup, I was told I would have to pay an additional 50% for each drink. That is incredibly poor customer service. Mistakes and misunderstandings happen, but when a customer specifically asks about an ingredient, is given incorrect information, and purchases multiple drinks based on that information, the appropriate response is to simply correct the order--not charge the customer again for the business's mistake. We would have been perfectly happy with plain hibiscus tea, lychee jelly, and boba. I wasn't looking for anything for free; I simply wanted the drinks I thought I was purchasing based on what I was told. Unfortunately, their unwillingness to rectify such a simple issue left a very bad impression and is not a way I would choose to do business.
