Willy Wonka could learn a thing or two from the Baked Bear. My first impression when I opened the door was the generous smell of freshly baked cookies and ice cream, which alone is worth the visit. The Baked Bear specializes in custom ice cream sandwiches. They bake their cookies fresh all day and offer a wide variety of ice cream flavors. You can mix and match different cookies and ice cream flavors to create your perfect ice cream sandwich. These customized sweet treats are beyond decadent; they make Godiva chocolate seem like street food from India. While I was ordering, I looked around and noticed many customers with their eyes rolled back in their heads and big smiles on their faces after just one bite. Sidenote: I went down to the Kroger a few blocks away and bought some dry ice, which I put in my cooler. I returned to the Baked Bear and ordered about ten different ice cream cookie sandwiches. We were having an event at our house, and these would make the perfect treat. I put the ice cream sandwiches in the cooler with the dry ice when I got home, quartered them, placed them on a plate, and put them in the freezer. After dinner, I brought out the treats. Everyone had the same reaction when they took their first bite: their chins went up, their eyes rolled back in their heads, and they had huge smiles on their faces. Everyone exclaimed, "Oh my God, this is great! Where did you get them?" When I told my friend I got them from the Baked Bear, he started laughing. I asked him why, and he said, "It's the name--the 'BAKED' Bear!" Ohhhh... lol. It's a verb! It made for a great evening. I wish they would make party plates like this in the future. This was such a fantastic experience. I wish it weren't so far from my house, but my pancreas is happy that it is! The Baked Bear Webster was the perfect place for my family to enjoy a sweet treat after dinner nearby. Who doesn't love a personalized ice cream sandwich?! Despite it being a Sat night, the staff was able to accommodate a big rush of people efficiently. Service on point. The interior isn't huge, but somehow we still got a table for a big group of us. We tried a variety of their flavors and different combinations, but my favorite was their gooey butter cake and cookie monster cookies with toasted s'mores ice cream, coated in oreos, and hot pressed. The cookies get warm, the ice cream is creamy, and surprisingly it's not too sweet at all. The Baked Bear Webster is a great addition to the Webster area. For as indulgent as my creation was, it wasn't overly sweet (a major compliment for every Asian's taste buds)! Having worked in restaurants years ago, I hated when people would come in close to closing but everyone here had a great attitude which is very rare these days! I stopped in for a sweet treat after having dinner at Jinya Ramen Bar a few doors down. I had never even heard of the Baked Bear, but apparently it's super popular in California and they are opening stores all over the place. This location just opened a little over a week ago. I love ice cream cookie sandwiches, but I was so full from ramen, that I didn't have room for a sandwich. Luckily, you can purchase cookies or ice cream. There's no pressure to get a sandwich. They have tons of flavors and you can get your cookie warmed up if you prefer. The employees were really nice and explained the ordering process. I had the Gooey Butter Cake cookie. It was good and very soft (I love soft baked cookies). They're a bit on the smaller side, but they're only $2 so I think the price is reasonable. I opted to have my cookie hot pressed. So yummy! My friend had a sandwich consisting of the Gooey Butter Cake cookie on top, Cookies and Cream ice cream, and a Fudgy Brownie cookie on the bottom. It was topped with whipped cream and chocolate syrup. I took a bite (and yes I made sure to hit all the flavors on that thing) and it was really good! I definitely want to go back and try one of the cookie sandwiches. I'm a sucker for a brookie so I see a sandwich with a chocolate chip cookie and brownie combo in my near future. They have vegan and gluten free options! They have a self serve water stand and they also sell bottled drinks. The store is kind of small. There's three tables inside, and a few smaller tables outside. It was cold last night, but that didn't stop people from sitting outside to eat their treats. I usually get the Blackberry Crumble ice cream in between the Gooey Butter Cake Cookie and the seasonal cookie, which happened to be Pumpkin Spice a couple days ago.
