I honestly miss when it was "scoop" There were more unique flavor options. It was cleaner. And the staff were friendlier and I would always see the owner hard at work. I've heard good things about this place and always wanted to try them out, so thought I would do it right and go straight to their signature Cosmic Bar. It doesn't sound like it would work (Lemon Poppyseed Muffin ice cream sandwiched by Fruity Pebbles cereal treats) but man it was tasty! The ice cream was not overpoweringly lemony, and the sweet chewy crispy fruity pebbles treats complimented it deliciously. Ate half of it already before I decided it was something I wanted to share lol. Service was fine. Location is a little tucked away, but worth the effort. I popped in here en route to the skating rink right around the corner. I had a taste for a shake and I had a few until the skate session began. They had some unique flavors but one that jumped out at me was a spiked Butter Pecan they had. The guy told me it was spiked with Saint Arnolds ale, which is one of my favorite local craft breweries so once I tasted it, it was a no brainer for me. I got it in a shake with their crushed Oreo topping. Let me start with the ice cream itself. Very smooth and creamy, good amount of sweetness, nice butter pecan flavor with candied pecans and a very light hint of ale. The shake itself was near perfection. Perfect amount of milk to still be thick while light enough to drink thru the shake straw. I still had some candied pecans when I made it to the bottom which was a nice finishing treat. The ice cream and service will take you out of this world! The ambiance will place you into another galaxy far away! My family and I came for a desert after dinner and playing some Top Golf while visiting the NASA Space Center! Their nacho looking ice cream is something unique for an ice cream place! It definitely was delicious but even my kiddos couldn't finish it all. Which was a shocker. I bought the ice cream Mexican soda with abuelita's ice cream. It was very delicious and smooth! This place has some of the best ice cream I have had in a while. Most flavors are seasonal but the flavors are worth the wait. Service was really pleasant and you can taste any flavor that you want to. Atmosphere was neat especially when 2 little kids were getting their ice cream and were so excited about the toppings it made the time there enjoyable. Employees were so polite and were customer oriented. Worth going and it is a must stop if you like good ice cream!! read more

Boyfriend and I LOVE cosmic. we go here 1-2 times a month and each time is top tier. The employees here are warm and welcoming and encourage you to try new flavors/ samples. I believe they rotate every so often but do keep the top sellers year round. They also have flights, milkshakes, and cookie ice cream sandwiches ! If you're in the area stop by!! It's a cute little shop with about a dozen flavors. They have a few classics and some on the more creative side. All were delicious, but the real joy was their temperature sensitive spoon. It was really fun to see the color change as you dug into a heaping spoon of ice cream. The staff were really friendly and happy to give a taste if you wanted. The service was great, when walking in they asked if I wanted any samples. I will say the selection is very minimal compared to other spots. I ordered a cookie monster shake from here and will say the consistency seemed like they poured too much milk into the cup. I do highly recommend just getting a cup of ice cream rather than the shake. Overall it did taste good and would try the rest of the flavors they have. read more

We came to this shopping center and saw an ice cream place. While already excited to stop we saw this had 5 stars on google so knew we had to try it. It's all made locally in Texas and so good. I got a mini which is so nice they offer it and even with the mini I could do half and half with two flavors. I think this ice cream shop is new because I don't remember hearing about it or seeing it. Either way the concept of the shop is SOOOO cool and cute. They don't have a lot of variety on flavors but they are kind of unique. I personally never diverge from my favorite flavor - cookies and cream. Though it's called something different here (I think it was chocolate cookie). They have spoons that change color when you use them to eat your ice cream, it's pretty cool. You should def give it a try if you're in the area. The staff is really sweet and friendly. read more

Came here on a hot summer day. The place is fairly small but has some tables. I ordered campfire s'mores I think it was called (maybe not lol). It was yummy. Creamy in texture, just right chewiness. Best ice cream in the area, hands down! What's not to love about this place? Great ice cream, friendly service, and inviting interior. Perfect spot to hang out with friends or family after dinner. My only complaint is that I wish the store was a little bigger so that there would be more room for slightly bigger tables/parties. I think we've tried all the flavors here, but I know they always have seasonal flavors that rotate. My personal favorite is getting their cold brew float with their coconut ice cream. SO GOOD! They have cool rice krispie or donut ice cream sandwiches as well. Plus ice cream "nachos." There's something everyone will love for sure. Run, don't walk here for ice cream! I really like ice cream, but seldom indulge these days. Yet I am still open minded enough to check out various ice cream spots of all kinds. My visit to Cosmic Ice Cream came towards the end of a visit to Clear Lake, and it was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. Flavor-wise, I like to alternate between off the wall, unique flavors like the ones served at the old Craft Creamery, and more standard flavors. Sticking to the latter choice, I selected salted caramel. What I love about Cosmic Creamery's version is the caramel is more subtle, not too sweet and yet high quality. It actually tastes the way caramel is supposed to taste. This is a huge compliment coming from a caramel aficionado like myself (Haha!). Now, moving on to the texture of the ice cream. The ice cream is more icy, thicker and more dense compared to other ice creams, which tend to melt faster. I love that this ice cream is so different, but it's also just a higher quality. The service was great here. I look forward to returning to try other flavors in the future. read more

Stopped in passing through Houston. The ice cream flavors were fun, flavorful and creamy. We had the blueberry cake donut and strawberry compiled in their nacho specialty. Instead of nachos they are triangle waffle cone pieces. The nachos also gives you the chance to pick three toppings. Not only was the ice cream good we were welcomed with a big smile and enthusiasm. Why 4 stars? Because this was a nice sweet snack to finish off the night. --- --- --- I love ice cream, especially when it comes from a place with a 5-star overall rating. I ordered a cone with cookie monster and birthday cake ice cream. I enjoyed both scoops, but wouldn't say they stood out to a level where I'd absolutely have to return here next time I'm visiting family in the area. Absolutely adorable! I got half toasted coconut and half chocolate and it was sooo tasty! The chocolate has such a rich flavor and the two pair so well together. I'm so excited to see how this business grows! My favorite flavors: mango sorbet (vegan), caramel macchiato (BEST COFFEE FLAVOR EVER), toasted coconut (vegan), lemon poppyseed (different and delicious), and strawberries and cream I like that there are a variety of different menu items: rice Krispy ice cream sandwich, ice cream donut and ice cream nachos! Ok delicious. No other words needed, really. They have different flavors and even though I only tried two of them, I'm hooked. PB&J is wonderful with just the right mix of both flavors. And the blueberry cake donut ice cream (you can taste the donut) was the perfect filling for my donut ice cream sandwich. The ice cream is very creamy and they make it all themselves. I asked about the patio stating that us where we preferred to sit anyway, and was met with that they were also not seating the patio at all for the rest of the day. However, there was a group of 3 women seated outside on the patio at that exact time. I didn't say anything, simply turned and left. After having "one of those days" hashing out something so minute with a person who clearly didn't want us in their place of business was not something I was about to do. Keep in mind, we came on a Sunday afternoon. Prime brunch time. We arrived at the restaurant around 2:30PM, and their website says they don't close until 4PM. I am a biracial black woman and my friend is white. I noticed a significant amount of White and Latino patrons, but a shocking lack of Black people. With Houston having one of the most diverse populations in the US, it is almost impossible not to see at least one individual of each ethnicity in a place at any given time. I am definitely not one that likes to pull the race card, because oftentimes that is not the issue. However, as someone who is familiar with the service industry I understand Sundays can be extremely overwhelming. And I am cognizant that not everything is that serious. But, I am also aware that a lot of people in the industry discriminate against people of color, with stigmas that we don't leave enough gratuity or we "don't fit the vibe of their establishment". And those 3 women seated on the patio? All White. After reading recent reviews, it seems that management is discriminating against people of color, more specifically Black folks. This is an extremely disheartening and sickening realization to make, seeing as I have given well over $1,000 worth of my money here but also enjoyed many meals without issue. To management: It breaks my heart to have to write this review and to be honest, I wouldn't have written it if I hadn't seen others posting about similar experiences in addition to also feeling discriminated against. I highly suggest that if you are "not seating" after a specific time, you announce this via social media or alert potential patrons with a sign or something of the sort. & obviously, there is such an issue with treatment towards POC that it is a noteworthy problem via your Google & Yelp reviews. You will have a much bigger fish to fry on your hands if you continue to let this issue go on unrectified. I would be willing to return if I felt things were to be changed for the better in the future! Hopefully this review sparks a much needed conversation and brings attention to an area which needs work.
