So wanted to try this place and man was I surprised. Ordered Grubhub and they forgot the rice for the vegetable pad. Though some would sing them for this for me it was a blessing. In our original order I forgot to order the Shrimp summer rolls. So called about rice and they offered to credit us or make the rice for us great customer service. So I asked to add the Shrimp rolls they were quick to deliver and then we ate our dinner. I want to start with the shrimp rolls. Most places they are simple and somewhat plain but not at Mona. They has a wonderful mint and cilantro inside with the shrimp. However the star of this was the sauce that went with it. Now the pho this was amazing not only was everything portion out perfectly to make at home they also included all the options if you wanted to add more heat or flavor. I went all in and the heat was awesome. The meat was tender and the noodles were the best pho noodles I have ever had. Now the. Vegetable Pad when I saw my wife order I thought it looked plain and bland. I was so wrong the sauce had a depth of flavor I cannot describe but I could easily go all vegetable for this dish tasted amazing. So bottom line if you want great food at a good price give it a try. Ordered through GrubHub and it came on time. I got 2 orders of the chicken pho. I've tried pho from Pho Dat Thanh, Pho Saigon Hanoi, Pho D'Lite & this place did impress me. I was worried about how much toppings I would get so I order extra basil leaves, onions, & bean sprouts ($5). I was pleased with the amount, however I don't think it's worth the extra $$ for toppings that should already come with pho. It's just vegetables, so I'm not sure why some restaurants are so stingy with the toppings. Maybe you get more when you eat in, or you can just ask for more w/o being charged. $17+ is a bit much for extra toppings. Also, I was disappointed with the size of the hoisin sauce container. Usually it's bigger especially if you have 2 orders. Overall, the broth does have a different taste than I'm used to but I REALLY enjoyed it. Probably won't be my new spot, but I definitely want to dine in to try other menu items. read more

Came here with a friend around 7pm on a Thursday and sat outside. It was a beautiful night , there was barely anyone seated, and we were both starving. While the service was above par, the food was not. My friend ordered #4 pho and I ordered Pad Thai Tofu (heat level #4). Her food came out first and there was a high broth to meat ratio. Very little meat. She thought they messed up her order, but when she asked they said it was the #4. Mine came out a few minutes later and while it looked amazing and tasted decent, it didn't have that Pad Thai flavor. It was tangy and not really spicy at all, and another person's comment on Yelp that it tasted like ketchup resonated. All in all, I'd probably try coming here once more to give them a second chance, but my first food experience here was disappointing. read more

I don't know how to explain how incredibly delicious their broth is for their pho dishes. It's one of the main reasons why I love eating here. It's perfect during a cold day and warms you up with every bite. I've been to many pho restaurants but something about how they make their broth here that I can't seem to find anywhere else. I went here on March 10th 2022. The food is ok, but the service was awful. I don't know why this lady had a problem with me. I ordered the Pad Thai with extra vegetables and mango sticky rice. She messed up my order and tried to lie about it and make it seem like her mistake was my fault. There were no vegetables to be found and I asked her politely about the extra vegetables I asked for and she said that they were right there, and they most definitely weren't, I was feeling very uncomfortable so my boyfriend had to stick up for me because he heard me ask for the vegetables and could clearly see there were none. So she brought out my extra vegetables by the time I was about finished with the noodles. She ignored us and didn't fill up our water glasses, and were waiting and waiting for the sticky rice and it never came so I asked if we could get the sticky rice to go and she literally just threw a to-go box at me and disappeared. It was shocking and disrespectful, the mango sticky rice never even came so we had to go find her and ended up asking for to just take off the sticky rice from the check so we can pay and get out of that place. What a very childish person to treat someone like that, like lady, just own up to your mistakes and be accountable, don't treat someone like that because you weren't paying attention to what you were doing. It was a simple order with a simple fix, no need to be so rude. We were too nice still paid her 15% tip that she did not deserve in the slightest. I left this place in tears. I hope the restaurant manager sees this and talks with her about her behavior. read more

4 of us have been making the rounds of Hampden restaurants lately, and have been very pleased with all the places we've checked out thus far. Last night we were in the mood for pacific rim rice noodles. We had no problem getting seated inside (there is also ample outdoor seating if that's what you prefer), and the aroma from the kitchen increased our hunger pangs. Our friends decided to try the Pho, while my wife and I wanted to split the Pad See Ew and drunken noodles. You can order the noodles on a spice scale 1 being mild, 5 being ARE YOU OUT OD YOUR FRIGGING MIND hot. We went with a spice level of 2, because we wanted to taste the flavor texture Thai food is known for. The food came out of the kitchen hot, indicating everything is custom made. We all enjoyed our food, and ordered a mango sticky rice to share for dessert. This was also excellent. Soooooo, on to the rating: while the food was at least a 4.5, the restaurant's appearance was rustic Hampton, and the server was inattentive. We tried several times to have him clear our table and bring our check but each time he just walked away. Finally, I stood up and in a louder tone told him we were ready to leave and wanted our check, he said "Oh, your have to go up to the register, tell then what you had and pay up there". A friend and I wanted to try Pho and we heard of this spot. The service was very slow but as a supporter of small businesses that didn't bother me much. The problems arose when I noticed the servers helping everyone BUT us. It took about 15 minutes before someone came to our table. The food took more than an hour to come out. We were never asked for refills or if everything was okay. While we were eating, the server brought us our check. We hadn't requested it, not we're we close to finished. It seemed like the server just didn't want us there. The pho, however was pretty good and I liked how the calamari was fried. Casual restaurant with excellent, fresh Thai food. The eggplant and basil/peppers with chicken selected as the protein was excellent, with a flavorful brown sauce and perfectly done eggplant and chicken. The choice of 4/5 spiciness was actually mild, which was great for the dish. The coconut milk and mushroom soup with shrimp as the protein was tangy and excellent. This is food like you might luck in to in Thailand. The calamari was fried well,, but was not great. The sticky rice and mango desert was unusual and recommended. Can't wait to try the fried banana with ice cream. Eating inside the very spaced tables was nice, there are also outdoor tables. I didn't find take-out as good--the flavors and textures just aren't as good as right off the stove or with the ingredients freshly combined. BYOB and Thai iced tea for drinks. read more

Went by to check this spot out since people have been raving about the pho. We ordered the pho and were very disappointed. It is not authentic pho by any means. The broth lacked flavor and there was very little meat and it was all noddles. There are other great options in the city that serve authentic pho. I really wanted to like this place. The menu is exciting, but unfortunately twice now the flavors have fallen a bit flat. The red curry was very oily and appeared to have no coconut milk to balance the curry flavors. And tofu and vegetable dish had a runny and pretty flavorless sauce. I could get past these alone and keep trying except that both times I have ordered meals with vegetable and tofu dishes and explicitly stated I was vegan in the comments, I have found chunks of meat in my food. I understand that cross contamination likely happens behind the scenes at restaurants more than I'd like to know, but actual chunks of meat in my food twice really makes me concerned. I really hope I'm not getting a dish that was made with chicken and then picked out last minute! read more
