It's a lovely facility that has been kept in tip top shape. They have a variety of classes to sign your kids up for and if you're still standing you can get into a dance class too. They offer you a private trainer to try as a part of your membership. They have a walking track upstairs, there is a nutritionist on the property for consultation, they have classes and I think lunch for the elderly. When my kids were younger I practically lived at the Y because I was there 6 days a week. My kids are adults now and it's nice to be able to go to a class now for me. Membership isn't expensive either. I really am blessed to live within walking distance to my Y and it's a very nice facility.

Even though she is young, I see that they have other programs available as she progresses and advances through her swimming like the swim club, the snorkeling program, and the surfing program. I even took a surf lessons myself with the owner, who is absolutely fantastic. My daughter plays basketball here, and the coaches are very focused on teaching fundamentals, making sure everyone gets playing time, and maintaining good sportsmanship. There's no added cost above the membership to play youth basketball, and you can play year-round. My daughter also takes swim lessons here, and after trying two other swim schools, she is finally learning to swim! There is something about the method that is working, and she has progressed very quickly in swim classes. They are very reasonably priced, especially compared to the surrounding pools, and you can take lessons year round, and indoors, so you don't have to worry about it being too sunny or too cold. My daughter also likes the Lego and art classes, and every time she's in a class, my husband and I can go work out in the gym or go swimming. It's helped us get in shape, too! We are also taking advantage of both Camp Whittle in Big Bear and the YMCA day camp at this location. Last, but not least, the staff has been really nice and helpful. We joined off a referral and since then, several of my daughter's classmates have also joined. I highly recommend checking out this YMCA! Your membership grants you entry into all the other ones around, too!

However, as we continued, each lesson was with a different instructor, and that lack of consistency made my son increasingly uncomfortable. At his age, familiarity matters, and it became clear he wasn't settling in the way I had hoped. What ultimately led me to write this review, though, was not the instructors--it was the customer service. My interactions with the scheduler/representative regarding scheduling, missed days, and invoices were unpleasant and rigid. There was very little kindness or willingness to work with me, and the communication felt cutthroat rather than supportive. Because of this inflexibility, my son essentially missed out on continued lessons. Instead of working with me as a parent trying to navigate life with two young kids and a disabled husband, I felt pushed out over a missed appointment. In retrospect, I now see how much that experience negatively impacted my son's relationship with the water. I'm writing this while watching my son thrive at Water Wings, where he is happy, confident, and excited to learn. Seeing the difference has made me realize just how behind he became due to how things were handled at Aqua Buddies. Thankfully, there are other options in this city. I truly wish Aqua Buddies placed more emphasis on compassion, flexibility, and customer service--especially when working with young children and families who may need understanding, not rigidity.

He is busy putting an excellent array of new classes and activities together for kids, teens, and adults, and is working on getting new equipment (they just got more cardio machines with tvs in them). We attended an open house there over the weekend and watched all sorts of demonstrations of the types of classes and things this facility offers. We also learned that there will be a push to increase teen memberships in the next few weeks so stay tuned if you're a teen looking for a great deal. That said, the staff working the front desk needs to be a bit friendlier, they seem bothered when you ask them a question and give the general aura that they don't want to be there. But I'm confident the dead weight will get cut as this facility continues to improve! Overall, this is the kind of place to go to make sure families are staying active and healthy together, and it will only get better and better as more people join.

They require full payment upfront, and after I booked, I exchanged numerous emails with them to confirm my lifeguard reservation. I was repeatedly assured that they had plenty of lifeguards available in my area and that there would be no issue providing coverage for my event. The day of my daughter's 8th birthday party, the lifeguard was a complete NO-SHOW. Many of our guests attended specifically because they were told a lifeguard would be on duty around the pool. Not only was this a major safety concern, but it was also incredibly embarrassing. I felt like I had misled my guests, despite doing everything possible to confirm the service beforehand. If you are planning an event and need a dependable lifeguard service, I would strongly encourage you to think twice before booking with this company. My experience was extremely disappointing, stressful, and unprofessional.
