Came here on a Saturday afternoon with my husband sister in law and infant we ordered meals at counter and sat ourselves inside dinning room after 20 minutes they brought sister in law her calzone after 30+ minutes they came to tell me they didnt have main dish that I ordered ( it was a special that was posted on blackboard out front) we decided to leave because at that point ordering something new wasn't a option with a infant! We canceled the rest of the order! They refunded us for the dishes we didn't receive ( still charged us for our sodas) . Weird experience to say the least. read more

Ordered a pizza and caesar salad for take out. The salad was very good but was disappointed with the pizza. It looked like low fat cheese was used?? The cheese would not melt and you could still see the shredded cheese form after the pizza was cooked. Also there was not a bit of oil from the cheese. Amazing pizza and restaurant. The baked clams were perfect. The eggplant parm and shrimp parm were delicious and all portions were big. We sampled some pizza and one word - WOW!! Food is excellent. Just like homemade. Mussels are tasty and flavorful. Eggplant Parmesan is good. Eggplant is not fried and it's still Delicious. Sauce is not raw. Tastes like it's been cooked well. I've eaten here many times and it is one of the best Italian restaurants I've eaten in. If I had to say one negative thing it's the waitress and bus boys need a little more training. Although they were friendly and courteous they seemed to be flustered and it was not busy. But they got the food out and did their job. They are trying and need a little more guidance. This evening placed a take out order, was told that it would be 20/25 minutes, went to pick up my order after 20 minutes and was told it would be a few more minutes, after a couple of minutes I noticed that they were just making my pizza, told them that this was really not acceptable, at which point the owner (?) started loudly berating me, that I should take my business elsewhere, I don't think that's how you should act in front of paying customers. The pizza was marginal at best, the sauce is not very good. You try very hard to support local businesses but to be berated in public will cost them a long time customer! read more

After hearing great reviews of Mo'Nelisa, my brother and I stopped by for a quick bite after Volleyball practice at Nickerson Beach. We were exhausted, but craving good, hot pizza! We weren't aware that you couldn't order slices in the dining room, but our server, Ana suggested a personal pie for him, and she let me sneak in an order of my favorite, chicken roll! The food took a while to come out, but the wait was definitely worth it. The pizza was hot to the touch, and the cheese melted off as we picked up each slice. The chicken roll was probably one of the best I've ever had. The chicken was perfectly breaded, and fried to just the right temperature. Definitely tasted like they put a lot of love, and effort into the food! I look forward to dining at Mo'Nelisa in the future, and will definitely return to try the heavier plates of food! read more

My family are regulars at this restaurant. Food is always good and service is great. We recently went there for Christmas Eve dinner. Chef Jon makes the best feast of the seven fishes. We came down to Point Lookout to go to the Buoy Bar which had over a 2 hour wait so we found this little spot to try it and thank god we did! Anna was our server and was one of the most caring, attentive waitresses we have ever had the pleasure of being served by. We started out with the fried mozzarella which were cooked to perfection. I ordered the linguine with white clam sauce which was to die for. We also ordered the cavatelli, chicken parm with vodka sauce, eggplant parm, and the fried chicken caprese. Not a complaint about the place! Quiet with a good crowd and outdoor seating which is great in the winter! Will definitely be coming back here. I hate to give a negative review to a place I had high hopes for. I love going to Pt. Lookout in the summer and love eating pizza. I used to hit Olive Oils for an early brick oven pizza and an entrée or two. Met up with a friend who was doing business in Long Beach so rather than driving elsewhere we met halfway here. Ordered a pizza, burrata, meatballs, and the fruitti di mare spicy linguini entrée. I wish I could say anything beyond this place will need a new chef to thrive. It may survive alone on the pizza in the summer (which was an absolute let down) and the fact that there isn't another pizza place for miles. Sorry Mo...it's a No-Go!! read more

I ordered from Mo'Nelisa many, many times and I also recommended them to my coworkers. They received much business from our organization for birthdays, celebrations, etc. When I called this past week for my pretty regular lunch order....they did not deliver some of my order, but charged me. I called and was told that "I complain too much and if I keep complaining they won't deliver to me any longer...." I was mortified. I politely told the rude telephone person that they need not worry about that as I will bring my business to East End Pizza. As a side note....they never put in forks or napkins in your order. Missed the mark.. First visit to this establishment. Very welcoming but the young server gave lip service to my specific request and didn't deliver My wife enjoyed her entree, me..not so much.. Been going to this pizza place since they were bought out and changed there name to monelisa from olive oils, up until recently the pizza has been great. Id say a few months ago the pizza changed. Its Has such a high dough content and the grease, man its so greasy now. I just got a couple slices and you cant even pick them up, cheese is fallling off and the bottom of the box is COVERED in grease. I hate to say it but i think im done going here. read more

Love this place! Went there last night with my pre teen daughter and her friends. They all loved their meals which for 12yr olds is tough!! The broccoli rabe and sausage appetizer is perfection. Been enjoying this place for many years , two slices and a cup of water , after a several mile walk thru Long Beach . Get the family there too a couple of times a summer for a sit down dinner .. Staff and food have always been great , till tonight . With no salt shaker to be found , I humbly asked the three behind the counter for some salt . I was met with indifference and no positive response . I left with my slices and zippo salt ... Darn shame .. The service here is horrendous. The teenaged girls that run the place are overwhelmed when there is more than two customers on line and I witnessed them mess up multiple (phoned in takeout) orders from customers that were standing on line in front of me. The owner is rude and incompetent when it comes to customer service. He literally was helping customer from the back of the line ahead of customers in front of the line that were already waiting 10 minutes or more. He's rude. Stopped here for dinner on our way out of a town for a little getaway. Contemplated getting pizza or full dinners...opted for dinners, should have opted for pizza. Ordered fried calamari...most pieces were over battered and dry. For a restaurant in a town known for seafood, it was disappointing to say the least. Normally, I would ask for what's left to be wrapped and did not. Our party also ordered cavatelli and chicken Parmesan. Cavatelli portion was big, pasta was not. Sauce on the sweet side, just not a fan. Chicken parm came on bed of pasta, it was ok if you were a fan of the sauce. Dinner came out literally 3 minutes after app and I had to ask for the slices of pizza for kids after we received dinners. Waitress super nice. We ate here last Saturday on a recommendation of a friend of ours. Old school Italian food and huge portions! Our server Wes was probably the best young waiter we have ever had. He was attentive and knowledgeable and couldn't do enough to make us happy, and he was honest when he answered our questions instead of trying to upsell us. We shared the fried ravioli app and then split the special, which was friend calamari and shrimp with pasta. It was delish and we got like 3 meals out of it. Chef Joe's red sangria was the bomb! Went for a nice bike ride on the boardwalk and was starving lol. Heard about this pizzeria and had to try it out and OMG!!!!!!! Absolutely amazing! Had a regular and buffalo chicken slice and was so delicious and fresh! Best way to judge a good pizzeria is look at the back of the pizza and if it has a nice tan color the ovens are clean and pizza will always taste the best! Get place and highly recommend it! All the pasta sauce options are delicious and there is a large variety of Italian food to choose from. For appetizers-The fried mozzarella was crunchy on the outside and gooey on the inside. We saved the red sauce that comes on the side to accompany our main meal. That's how good it was!! The buratta appetizer also came with prosciutto, roasted peppers, tomatoes, and olives- plenty for 4 people to share. Then onto the main courses! I had the linguini with clams with a gluten free substitution. The pasta was cooked al dente and I couldn't tell it was gluten free. They also had vegan options for my table.
