I've been coming here since I was a kid. This place is always fresh, always consistent, and they have a great selection of toppings and sauces. I love the little biscuits and rice they bring with your meal. I introduced my husband to this spot and now he craves it all the time. I came here with high hopes on a Sunday at 530pm. The place was clean and I was seated fairly quickly. Although this is an all you can eat place, there is a sign posted to please only use one bowl at a time, which forces you to puke food high and press down to avoid having to make a second trip. The spinach bin was empty. The sauce area was a disaster, 3 of the spice sauce containers were empty, the lemon, garlic and ginger water containers were all water and no flavor. There were two cooks working the small round grill which should have been great however the run the grill way too hot which means the grill burns fast leaving a charcoal residue quickly that your food cooks on and since it's so hot the vegetables don't cook all the way before the outside burns. Please turn down the heat and make one more pass around the grill. Also, you need to add a little water to the grill before you cook each bowl of food. The soup which comes with it is extremely salty making it impossible to eat. The food was quite salty as well. One thing that seemed odd was how none of the staff seemed to happy to be working there. They have a great idea just poorly executed. Hopefully they fix it. read more

This joint is under new ownership and they are doing a great job. Steve was in charge when we were there and place was ruby like a well oiled machine. Honestly, there is nothing wrong with the place itself or even the food itself, it is just there is not much variety that you can do with Mongolian BBQ. Like any other Mongolian BBQ place you choose from five different types of meats (beef, chicken, turkey, pork, and lamb), a slew of vegetables, about ten or so sauces, and they cook it for you on a big, iron stove - same as any other place. I actually would have been full with the cheaper plan but the price difference was so small that I went with unlimited. The staff was friendly and the food was good. I will be back. We've always loved the food here, the frozen meats and a ton of vegetable choices. We are glad this place survived Covid, being an all-you-can eat service. They provide hand sanitizer and gloves to serve, but most people don't see them sitting on the counter. Might be best to leave a big sign saying "please sanitize and use gloves before serving." Unfortunately the salad bar area is practically empty now, so that was disappointing. They only had a salad with very watery dressing, and some jello. The brownies used to be good but we're so dry this visit (not worth the calories). The ice cream machine is gone, so that also was disappointing. Weekends are all you can eat (only) so you have to pay for that even if you only have one serving, something to consider if you don't eat much, as dinner and a soda runs about $25/person. The servers there are very nice and very attentive. The place doesn't feel very clean, so hopefully the tables are sanitized between customers and thankfully they cook your food in front of you at high heat so you know most of the germs from the bar are being killed. Also the soy sauce, sesame seed jar, etc should be sanitized between customers as they feel dirty. Would be nice to see some slight changes, such as someone spraying and sanitizing tables and bring back items on the salad bar if you're charging full price for dinner. I have been coming here for several years to get my fix of Mongolian BBQ. Among all the AYCE Mongolian BBQs, this one is my favorite. It's your typical setup with frozen shaved meats, veggies, noodles and a slew of sauces none of which seem to taste any different than the others. Most recently, we came here on a Monday night at about 6pm ish...It was kinda empty may be four tables of fellow patrons. Food was fresh and tasty. Never understood the soup; it's really bland and tasteless. The buns (bread) is good; along with the rice (an Asian necessity). Enjoy the sides of kimchi and pickled cabbage/carrots. Three of us had a very nice lunch at Mongol King today. The arrangements were different from what others have described. The host, wearing gloves and a mask, picked out all the ingredients, meat, veggies and sauces, as we stood on the other side of a buffet line and told him what to add. Outside, there were nice tables and we found a shady spot. Our food was not as flavorful as usual. It's possible that we use more sauces than we think when we make up our own bowls, but there were condiments on the table to add, and that made up for it. We had really missed Mongol King. Meh. I bet you can find better Mongolian bbq anywhere. The all you can eat sounds like a good idea and there seem to be a lot of customers who do not mind about what they put into their bodies. I don't mind seeing people like that. But I was pretty overwhelmed by the amount of burnt particles in my dish and tried to take them out as much as I could, but through half of it, I had to give up the idea. And the food, too The appetizers looked gross, and the side dish that came with the bbq seemed out of this world. A soup that tasted like nothing and a bowl of rice that I didn't even touch- wonder if they re-serve the un-eaten portion? The cook was sweating his body out right in front of the extremely hot plate, poor man. If you want the mongolian bbq from this place, you need to learn how to season it right first. The recommended seasoning method on the wall is not really helping. If it is possible, wait until the cook cleans the hot plate before you get your bbq cooked. read more

Plus I might have received the crappy end of the stick because my portion on the cooker was the last one before they scrapped the burnt parts from previous people's portions. The yogurt in the end when you serve yourself is a fairly nice touch but I was VERY disappointed that I couldn't use those fun tiny tiny plates that you use to put sauce on. Why strictly the styrofoam cups? It makes me sad, but that's ok I guess. Overall, I think what makes a really great mongolian buffet experience is knowing your flavors, knowing what tastes good with what, what kind of sauce versus choice of meats and vegetables. Great food and even better service! Arguably the most exciting part is getting to customize your meal by combining an abundance of meats, veggies, noodles and sauces.
