Ah yes, the one and only Mongol King. This has been a place to go whenever I saw an old friend and wanted to catch up, its got a lot of tables which aren't filled up till dinner time. It's a great restaurant, serving you a variety of meats and vegetables with sauces that you choose yourself and a chef (wielding a badass machete) cooks it for you in a matter of minutes. The staff is great and the food is quality. The only issue I have with this place is they never have a decent amount of meat around. I have to wait there with my empty bowl staring at the wall so they can fill it up. If they can fix this, I'll bump my review up to 5 stars read more

What a huge disappointment! We went at lunch-way overpriced on both the 1 plate and all you can eat options, compared to what you can get at most restaurants for the same price point. The quality of meat was sub-standard; meat was way too tough, considering how thinly cut the it is. There was no menu presented so you had to grill the waiter to get the breakdown on pricing. I am so glad I only requested the single plate option. Someone in our party who ordered the unlimited plate wound up with a overly salty cup of soup that was hardly touched, 1 greasy egg roll & 2 wontons. And with the meat so tough, there was little incentive to do more than 1 plate. Lunch for 3 people was $30...For the poor quality of food and lack of ambience, there were way better options to go to for lunch with more polished food. I'll never go back. read more

They have all the standard components that make up a Mongolian BBQ, it just feels a bit dirty the whole time. I really like eating mongolian bbq and Mongol King did not disappoint. It's been a couple years since I've been back and it was just as a I remembered it. I will definitely bring this restaurant back into the rotation. I think it's a great place for groups becuase everyone can get whatever they want, it's pretty quick if you want it to be, and it won't break the bank! I've been to a few Mongolian BBQ places in the past and heard about this one through a friend. I tried their AYCE option that comes with soup, fried wontons, egg rolls, and sesame breads. They had a variety of meat, vegetable, and sauce selections. Not only that, they had my favorite sriracha sauce to sprinkle over my final production. The food was really yummy. Don't know why everyone is so crazy about this place. My girlfriend and I had to leave. We went to get our bowls of food and there was flies EVERYWHERE. Little tiny fruit flies all over the veggies and house flies flying around the meats and everything else. Obviously, it was really disgusting. We walked back to our table and in the 1 minute that we spent walking to and back from the LITTLE food area, the clumsy, old, rude waitress managed to spill the free soup all over my girlfriend's purse. To top it off, she didn't even say sorry or even mention that she spilt the soup. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!! They obviously don't care about quality, integrity or customer service. This place is Awesome! I love going to Mongol King! Prices are VERY reasonable and its as much as you can fill in a bowl! You can't complain about the food here cause you make it yourself and the chef cooks it right in front of you so if you dont like how it tasted its probably on you. Lunchtime its really slow so if you want quiet and want a seat right away go for lunch. Dinner does have something lunch doesn't have, dessert! Casual all you can eat Mongolian BBQ at a super affordable price of $10. Sure why not. Being that I am on a low carb diet, I am sort of limited to the food choices out there. Mongol King is pretty standard to all Mongolian BBQs out there. Being that I can't eat carbs, the staff was friendly enough and didn't give me any trouble when I asked for no noodles and just veggies and meat for my BBQ (chicken, beef, pork and even the lamb were all delicious). Finally tried this place tonight after driving by for years... Dinner started with a small bowl of yummy soup. I'm not sure if there is supposed to be a choice for one plate vs. all-you can eat, because we never saw a menu or price when we were seated. So we got up and proceeded to get round 1. As one reviewer noted, there is the typical assortment of meats and veggies. The sauces were good, although I detected no spiciness in the spicy sauce. But that can be fixed by adding hot pepper oil and/or Sriracha sauce at the table. I liked that you get to add the noodles yourself, so you can choose exactly how much or little you want... or you can opt out of the noodles in favor of the rice they bring to the table - or go the low-carb route with no rice and no noodles. And as other reviewers mentioned, dessert is included. read more

yes, i have tried better, much better !!! this is equivalent to a dive bar, but in this case i would not come back. It's a cheap buffet trying to be a mongolian bbq. when you grab your bowl and start filling it up with the veggies, meat, noodles and sauce you start to notice what else they have along the buffet line like jello shots, brownies, an ice cream machine, and 3 different salads that make you scratch your head. the steamed rice is made well and is tasty so thats always good in my book. the service is very friendly here, which is why i hate giving them 2 stars. the atmosphere is bland and can feel cramped at times. read more

I've been going here for years and the food is good. The waiter (who has been there forever) is always friendly. The place could use a little TLC but is clean. I was there yesterday with a large group and everything was great, once again, except for the fact that we were sweating the entire time we were eating. The poor guys cooking our food were sweating and extremely red in the face. The owner needs to open their wallet and turn the A/C on so customers can enjoy their meals. read more

You start with grabbing a large bowl and proceed to a selection of about six different frozen meats. Next is a wide selection of vegetables (including broccoli, carrots, sprouts, and even pineapple!), and noodles. Then the selection of sauce. There are just about a dozen different sauces you can add to your bowl (from mild to hot, and sweet to savory) and all are delicious! Next you get to watch one of two men cook your meal on a large circular griddle with a large knife. There is an all-you-can-eat selection, or just one plate. The goal is to smush as much food you can into a small bowl :) I usually get beef and add mushrooms zucchini and carrots on top add all of the sauce and oil I want and then the noodles with some extra spicy sauce again on top. Mogol King is a standard mongolian BBQ restaurant; you pile your bowl with meat and various vegetables and then they cook it for you on the grill. Service was good too, but I had it for take-out. For those disgruntled about the hours of this business, I've seen plenty of other great restaurants that close at similar times for whatever reason, yet they have 4+ ratings. This is a solid four star restaurant with food & a unique edge that my teenagers(14&15) can enjoy the preparation and eating their plates clean. I was enlightened of the wonderful experience by my son's baseball team after a game where each player heaped mounds of healthful food choices into a bowl to be stir fried on a large cooking surface. Tried Mongol King for the first time today. Normally we go to Big Wok in MB for our mongolian BBQ fix. We came during lunch, not busy at all. Decided to order the AYCE for the $2 upcharge since it came with soup, rice, wonton, springroll, sesame bread and soft serve vanilla ice cream. The only good part of those items was the ice cream. The soup was SO beyond salty. The wontons were hard as rocks and the springroll mostly just fried dough with very little veg filling. The bread was not as flavorful and chewy as I like it. So not really worth the 2 bucks, except I will say the soft serve was pretty dang delicious. Onto the BBQ... standard offering of meats, noodles and veg. Didn't love that the meats in the bins were starting to defrost, so half the meat wasn't frozen, seems a little unsanitary. Normal offerings of sauces (regular, spicy, ginger water, lemon water, garlic water etc) plus BBQ oil. I added about 5 scoops what I normally do elsewhere. There is only one "Wok" cook top, I can imagine how long the wait would be if it was crowded. We noticed that the man cooking didn't add any water after adding the noodles to the cooktop like Big Wok does. When I dipped into my first bite, I found everything without flavor and dry. Hmmmm. Does this mean the water helps to hydrate the noodles? Are their sauces just bland? I added garlic powder and sesame seeds, they didn't help much. Lunch price was 11.99 per adult for the AYCE. They were going to charge me the one plate price of 9.99 for my 5 year old but they were really nice when I explained that literally all he would eat is noodles and pineapple, so they charged me $4 bucks for him. The staff was nice, they explained that the dinner buffet also offered a selection of salads and brownies in addition to what was offered at lunch. We were told that the One plate price you can only stuff items into one bowl, but if you don't finish you can take it home. It takes a very talented person to stuff everything into one bowl.. This is how all the veg and sauce ends up all over the place as it is just falling off through the line. So, in ending, We are sticking with Big Wok. Same price and better flavor and quality of meat. Plus more tables, 2 cooktops to keep the line going, and also a senior discount for my folks. read more

One of the servers gave us the "evil eye" and the service is not to my standard. I realized that when I started to get severe diarrhea that it was this server AND the owner that did something. Beware! The owner is not friendly! Even labeled as an all-you-can-eat, they stare you down with the evil eye if you even try getting seconds or thirds. This will be my last time going here.
