My friends and I came here to celebrate one of our friend's birthdays. If it's your birthday, your meal is free. For august, they have a promo where it's $25 per person no matter the time or day. This was our first time here but some of us have had hot pot before. We got half and half of tomato & mild Sichuan spicy bone broth. Good thing we got mild because it was really spicy! It's all you can eat so we got multiple rounds of meats, seafood, noodles, veggies, etc. While we waited for our first round to come out, we went to the sauce bar and made our own sauces. They didn't have as many sides as other hot pot places I've been to. We tried the Chinese fritters with condensed milk and were pleasantly surprised how good they were. We kept ordering more of it. When you order more, they give you the same sheet you used before so it's hard if you order the same options again cause you run out of space. We ended with some ice cream. Food was good overall. Service could've been better. Needed to be checked on more often for water, napkins, ordering more, etc. I'd come back again though.

AYCE quality food , $25 peach person in the month of August 2026

I must say, the employees at this restaurant provided excellent customer service. They have a summer deal in August for $25 per person AYCE, and even though they were understaffed, every employee worked so well under pressure + excellent attitude! (I only got the name of one server, Sergio). Seriously, these days, it's so hard to find truly great customer service, even when a restaurant is fully staffed. This restaurant deserves 5 stars from me for customer service + quality food!

Came here with a couple girlfriends. It was my first time doing hot pot. Friendly service but somewhat slow. I wish they would have come back to our table more often to help clear plates. Overall it was pretty good and I would likely be back. What we loved: - Good pricing for AYCE menu - Food was pretty good and it's fun doing hotpot! - A lot of meat and noodle options and sides that are included into the price. Feedback: - Tables are really tight with all the food you can order. The stove was in the center of the table and the hot pot took up all the room. - The broth is refillable but I really wish we were each able to have our own broths. Not all of us eat the same stuff. - There weren't a lot of veggie options. - We kept getting warned about how spicy the levels were and that the pepper made the mouth numb, so we went with medium spicy. I tried the pepper and it really wasn't that spicy! But I do love spicy so for some people it's probably a lot! Go for the spicy if you love it! For a rainy day this was a good place to go for reasonably priced hot pot that is yummy!

Myself and a couple girlfriends had lunch here today. They have a really nice lunch special, $25 all you can eat. You can't get some of the most desirable things, like shrimp, for example on the lunch menu. I get that though it's pricey and in order to keep it approachable for lunchtime, they had to make some choices. We went with the house broth and the tomato broth. They were both good, but I didn't think the tomato broth was just a tad on the watery side. I've been to other hot pot places that have a lot more flavor. The meats all tasted very high-quality. We had lamb shoulder, sliced ribeye, pork belly, fish, and fish balls. We also had some pumpkin which I loved, enoki mushrooms, Napa cabbage and pea sprouts. The star for me are the fresh noodles that they make in house. I absolutely love them. They cook up so nicely in the broth and come out perfectly chewy. They have a good sauce bar as well with some little salad salads. My personal favorite is the wood eared mushroom salad. Don't miss out on the ice cream at the end! The green tea option was very nice. The interior is nice and clean. Nothing spectacular, but enjoyable. They do play a weird mashup of K-pop and country music. Seems sort of like an interesting choice for this restaurant, but I'm not mad at it.

Service was awesome this day!! They are sooooo friendly! Plenty of tables and clean! Broth is excellent! Bone broth and house spicy! The intestines are the best!!!!! Love this place! So good!

The food at Mongolian Hot Pot was good and the staff were friendly. However, the service was quite slow. It seemed like they might not have enough staff during busy hours.

You order they bring, sooo much food. Service is fast also. Broth was good, we tried our best to make the best hot pot possible lol. My husband and I are not professionals at it so it wasn't as good as we would had wish for. Our friends seem to enjoy cooking their own hot pot, o wish I was a pro at it.

Be sure to ask for your dessert! It's nothing too fancy, but with your All You Can Eat a dessert comes with it. Great place for families and large parties. We went on a Sunday 2:30pm. We were sat quickly. You order on a sheet and the server will bring your items out. There is a self serve bar so if the server didn't bring those items, you'll most likely grab it from the self serve bar. Warning: The Sichuan Spicy Bone Broth is HOT HOT! I should have removed the block of spice and just had mild spice. Enjoyed the selections. Wish there was more dessert options for All You Can Eat. $36 per person weekend price.

I didn't like the variety of soup bases here but the meat quality is high. The original house soup base tasted bland had dried spices floating on top and the spicy house soup base had a lot of chopped up dried chillies on top that was a choking hazard as well. They have a big variety of meats including wagyu and lamb and seafood and veggies and noodles. They also have meat skewers and pot stickers/dumplings and cold side dishes. I think my favorite part was the tender wagyu meat dipped in the sesame sauce, cucumber salad, pot stickers, and the strawberry and matcha ice cream. Service could be better. Would be easier to order through an iPad than to say every dish and have them forget a few dishes.

This was my only pic sorry lol and they really need some air fresher in the back area.

I really wanted to give this place more stars but compared to other spots I've been too, this spot just lacks enough hot pots per table. I'm not sure about y'all but ever since Covid, I'm even more aware of germs! They literally will have the whole table share the same hot pot! Eeeeeuuuuuuckk lol but luckily I was with good friends but still kinda nasty! Also this creates a problems bc not everyone's tastes buds are the same and I wanted to add more stuff but didn't want to be rude bc it wasn't just my portion of the pot. I recommend only going here with one person and if you are going to take multiple people. Go in separately and have multiple tables lol. Essentially they are making more money by not providing more hotpot's but essentially making you pay for an individual hot pot but you don't get your own side/portion of the pot if there is more than two people! They need to fix this asap. The broth was good enough but they lack sides unlike Shabu Shabu that had plenty. I also didn't like their seafood choices but they do get kudos for the ambit of noodles they offer.

Will birthday person eat for free?

When I was there a few weeks ago I saw a sign out front that said "eat free on your birthday". So yes, I think that is the case. You can definitely call the restaurant to confirm though.

    Do you open for dinner?

    I'm just

Do they have free birthday lunch/dinner?

I think they're not there anyn ok

05/28/2025: Do they still have ayce special? If so, on what day?

Ayce all day every day, the special only for none ayce during lunch

Do they still do AYCE now?

    Yep!

Has the AYCE started for this year? What is the price per person now?

Yes now they have AYCE every day now. Weekday Lunch is $25.95 per person, Weekday Dinner + Weekend is $35.95 per person. They also offer child price.

Do they do all you can eat every day?

They only do it in summer time

Do they still do AYCE on tuesdays?

No more AYCE this year. Will back next May of first Tuesday

    Are they pet-friendly?

I wouldn't bring your pet inside since the boiling broth is so hot. Maybe if they have outside seating (they did during the height of COVID) that would be safer. I also don't think it's pet friendly inside.

Is there still happy hour specials during COVID?

    Yes

Do they offer all you can eat at this location?

    Yes they do!

Is this place safe for someone with peanut and cashew allergies?

Everything for the hot pot pretty much comes out raw. I don't recall them ever using nuts like how Thai restaurants do. The three main dipping sauces are bbq, sesame, and bean curd. I'd mention the allergy just in case, though.

Do they offer a selection of dipping sauces?

A small selection and you have to ask the waiter for them. There is no sauce bar. Just ask, and they will provide you with sesame sauce, cilantro, garlic, etc.

Is it ayce right now? If so, what time does it start?

    Yes,all day Tuesday $34.95/adult $19.95/6-12 yrs old kid…

Did anyone confirm if their soup base can be made vegan?

Yes, the mushroom broth is vegan and can be made spicy also. Tastes just as good, if not better per my meat loving family.

Is the all you can Tuesday still going on?

No more. Only summer time from May to Sep. Hey, you can try Shabu Works, they are previously…

Does this restaurant have vegetarian broth options?

Yes! On the menu for broth options, there is a vegetarian mushroom broth option.

What is the time-frame of the lunch specials?

We went in Nov 2017. It was from 11:30 am to 3 pm.

How handicap accessible is this Resturant?

Handicap parking with a ramp up the curb is two doors away. The front door is two doors wide. I don't believe that the door has automatic opening, but there is usually a host near the door. The first tables have chairs that can be removed for a…

I arrived before our party of 7 and they were able to accommodate us by offering two table options. Thoughtful and friendly people work here. Hotpot: What a selection! I loved the mushroom broth, the assortment of fresh veggies from bok choy, romaine lettuce, lots of mushrooms options - my favorite is the enoki, and I loved the tofu skin. Beef lovers and seafood fans will enjoy this place as well. One of my fave items we ordered is a shrimp paste dish for our hotpot. That was delicious. I also love how they have a sauce bar. Snack Bar: I frequented the snack bar. The coconut jelly and coconut crackers is my favorite. They have a lot of snacks to pick from and it's complimentary! Ambiance: This place is gorgeous. Lots of interesting architectural decor. I had a great time capturing photos of the restaurant while I waited for my party to arrive. I'll definitely be coming back and recommending this place.

They also have an extensive sauce/snack/dessert bar with unlimited sesame balls, shrimp chips, and other Chinese desserts which I thought was unique. In terms of the actual hot pot ingredients, they definitely use high quality stuff and have a large variety to pick from! When you only ate somewhere once but they remember you that makes you want to keep coming back! One big draw for me is the kids meal and options/service for kids. If a kid is under 7 they don't charge for them to split your meal with you and they can still get their own soup bowl and chair. Also, they have a kids meal option for 10 and under. My kids absolutely love being treated like real customers. They get to cook their own food and the team addresses them kindly and tends to them. By the nature of this type of meal there is a decent amount of checking in the waitstaff has to do like adjusting cook temps, delivering plates and drinks, coming back for add ons etc so it is a good restaurant experience for kids. They even have high high chairs (not a typo) for the babies. The food is good. Everything is prepped to order... you can literally see people slicing your meat or putting your vegetables together in the back. I come here because I want quality and not the volume of an ACYE place. I'd prefer to spend my calories wisely. I was surprised that it was full but no wait on a weekday. It's hard to find somewhere with a vibe on a weekday but this place has one. It's a short drive from the zoo and Balboa park so I'm sure the team will see us again.
