I really enjoyed our dinner at MoMo, and I'm sad to see them go. I was given a gift certificate for the Wagyu dinner for two with drinks, which was a wonderful experience. I love that they have the 2 Batch Soda special flavors, I had the peach and it was great. My friend tried the green tea milk tea, passion fruit tea, and Batch diet cola. I got a bunch of veggies, edamame, cold noodle salad, and the beef stew over rice. The kabocha squash was a little tricky to cook, the enoki mushrooms, cabbage, etc were much easier to deal with, lol. The real star was the wagyu beef. I loved all 3 cuts, and we ordered more of the chuck eye and some pork belly for our extra round. It has spoiled me for normal beef now. The ice cream was a nice extra, I had the black cherry and my friend had the chocolate malt crunch. We each enjoyed our flavors. I don't often spend $60+ on myself for dinner, so it was a nice treat. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We went about 5:15 on a Monday, so it wasn't quite as busy. Came here with some friends and it was my first hot pot experience. We were seated fairly quickly with no reservation. They have 2 options, with the higher tier being wagyu. We went with the standard. They had beef and pork only, no shrimp which I'm told some places offer. There were 4 of is a d they gave us an option for 2 broths, and we did tonkontsu and another with tomato. It was supposed to have spicy miso but it didn't treat spicy, so we agreed some of the spicy green sauce from the self serve sauce bar. They had plenty of fresh vegetables in the salad bar area, along with some fish balls and tofu which I'm not a fan of in general. There were also little bowls of Ramen and Udon. They're was also some gravy type dish that was good with rice. I enjoyed all of the food, and once we doctored up the broth with sauces it was all very good. This place has become my all time favorite AYCE hot pot in San Diego. I have came here multiple times and every time I left satisfied by the food and the service. MoMo Paradise is AYCE shabu shabu, which is basically Japanese hot pot. When I first came in, I was slightly disappointed by how little their meat selection is, but I soon know why. Even though their selections are few, but every single selection was quality. None of the meat I have received thus far is frozen and all were freshly served. The presentation is also very on point. All the plates, bowls, and even the dishes that carried the meat resemble that of a traditional Japanese kitchen set. Makes you feel like you are eating at Japan without actually being in Japan. I have tried both the normal menu and the wagyu menu. Normally, I don't go for the wagyu option for hot pot since you can't really appreciate the quality of the meat in hot pot as well as kbbq. However for some reason, I could actually taste the difference. The wagyu option is definitely tastier and slightly more fatty. However if you are not willing to pay the extra price, the regular option is just as good! Parking is very spacious. MoMo Paradise is conveniently located within a ginormous plaza. From the moment she walked up to our table to us leaving, just her energy alone as a person radiates and shines through. In fact, every single employee in this establishment killed it. Josh, Dan, and Tobias were super friendly and personable. My friend and I opted for the basic non-wagyu menu and my favorite meat was the pork belly slices! The cuts of meat here are thick! Between the 2 of us we had a good 12 trays of meat before we called it in. In addition we helped ourselves to the self-serve veggie station. There were so many options including Japanese curry and rice. My favorite part is the all you can drink bar. It's about $3 a person but you get to drink unlimited boba and soft drinks! I really like the passionfruit tea and matcha latte. Overall, the value of this place is amazing. The overall vibe of this place is great. Usually at AYCE places the music is blaring loud and seems chaotic. However, Mo-mo is the complete opposite. It's calm and relaxing. This is a delicious option for all you can eat hot pot in San Diego. There are a couple things to know to get the most out of your experience. First, if you are dining on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday night you need to make a reservation. Multiple walk in parties of 4 or less were turned away when I went on a Friday night. You can make a reservation on their website. You can also text Mo-mo-Paradise with specific requests. I couldn't find a 6:30 pm reservation for a Friday night online but was able to text and get one. Second, you have 1.5 hours total with last call occurring at 60 minutes so you need to keep this in mind and know what you want for each order. Pacing is very important and you will be asked to vacate your table promptly at 1.5 hours. This is understandable as they run an efficient ship to ensure your table is promptly ready at your reservation slot. Our server Gavin was fantastic. He was attentive and came by frequently to check on us. My favorite meats are the chuck eye beef and pork belly. These are their higher fat meats and taste delicious. The vegetable bar is serve yourself. I really enjoyed selecting high quality ingredients from the vegetable bar. Something I noticed about Mo-mo is that their vegetable bar has higher quality ingredients than other hot pot joints and the area is much cleaner and more well maintained. There are dedicated workers by the vegetable bar at all times ensuring the ingredients are well stocked and the area is clean. Some will say I'm not getting my moneys worth by doing this but I enjoy the curry rice and udon and ramen noodles that you can get by the vegetable bar. They provide a delicious complement to the meal. You can also order ice cream at the end of your meal! The flavors change each time and I usually try all of the daily flavors. This is one of my favorite hot pot places in San Diego! Though what they lack in the number of side dishes they offer (fish balls, vegetables, etc) they make up in their higher quality meat. You get to choose 2 different broths and there are 5 different cuts of meat between pork and beef. I appreciated that they had curry as one of their side dishes. Be warned that the drinks are not free, it comes with a ~$3 AYCE drink charge. I also enjoyed what seems to be a house made sesame sauce. The service was fast and we got seated right away but that was on a Friday at 6 pm. And I do love how this parking lot has a lot of spaces available. The place was clean and I liked how they organized the places. One thing I noted was that we got told it was last call about an hour after eating. There is a 90 minute time limit here. I've never been to an AYCE place that had actually enforced the time limit on my table before. I always hear about Mo-Mo Paradise and finally got the chance to try it out recently! We came early on a weekday so it wasn't too busy, but the place started to fill up over the course of our meal. They did end up enforcing the time limit for us. They have a few different meat options, but we tried a few and ended up just ordering a million beef short plates since it was the best one in our opinion. Their all you can drink special is pretty worth it if you enjoy having a variety of sweet drinks with your meal, but for me personally I'd rather save space in my stomach for more meat. They have a decent selection of veggies, carbs, and other add-ins at their self-service salad bar. Make sure to try their curry! Service was quick and our waitress was super friendly and helpful! They used to automatically include 18% service charge, but it was recently removed with their menu update. Overall, good food although the price is a bit steep since it's AYCE. I'd say if you have a big appetite or are feeling extra hungry, you could make it worth your money, otherwise you'd probably be better off going to another hot pot place and ordering a la carte. read more

Experience getting seated was a 2/5, but once seated food and service was a 5/5!!! The night started off rough - made a reservation at 7pm but waited about half an hour after the reservation time to get seated. They also told us when we arrived 5 minutes early for our reservation that we would be seated in 10 minutes which was a gross underestimation. The place is definitely understaffed, and the person staffing the front entrance was doubling as a waitress, so when we walked in we had to wait about 10 minutes to even check in and speak to someone. Once we were finally seated though, we were reminded why we love this place so much. There are 3 beefs and 2 porks that you can order for the regular momo experience and each one was delicious! There is also a self serve bar where you can choose your own vegetables and sauces. All the spices and sauces were on point. We got the shabu broth and the sukiyaki broth; the shabu was a bit bland but the sukiyaki, delicious. We had a member with our party with a serious nut allergy. While they do warn of possible cross contamination, we personally did not have any issues and felt relatively safe - the waitress told us that the goma sauce served separately is the only thing that had nuts. Their homemade goma at the sauce bar, curry along with everything in the vegetables/self serve bar appeared to be nut free which made us feel better about the possibility of cross contamination. The concept behind this shabu-shabu place is as follows: choose your broth and your meats, then make your way to the veggie, protein, and noodle bar to choose what you want, and enjoy your meal within 90 minutes. Ooh, everything was goooooood... while it took a while for our broths (I chose shabu-shabu; Wendy chose tonkatsu) to start boiling, once they did, our meats cooked rather quickly. We went with a mix of beef and pork, and I also followed a few other Yelpers' advice about cooking the noodles later in the broth as so the flavors would soak in. One caveat - arrive hungry! As you only have 90 minutes at your table (which our servers reminded us of as there were other parties waiting), you won't be able to finish everything... and there's no takeout option. I felt bad about leaving uneaten food at our booth; then again, I did load up a bit on the curry and rice... It's always easy to book a table here. Their online system is pretty accurate and they'll never overbook. There's ample space and you get a few different broths to choose from. Since they're known for their wagyu (just American grade but it's fatty enough), I always opt for the sukiyaki. It complements all of their fatty meats very well, especially kurobuta pork. Veggie bar is self serve and you'll find a whole array of things such as fish balls, tofu, enoki mushroom, etc. If you have any vegetarian or vegan friends that tag along, this is probably the only thing they can eat from. I've been here on a number of occasions with friends, family and my team/staff and it never ceases to satisfy the belly and palate. If anyone is of senior citizen age in your party, they get 20% off their part of the bill. Additionally, a rice and beef curry station added a delicious option. We chose the suki-yaki and tonkotsu broths, though I recommend going straight for the suki-yaki or tomato. For dessert, there were even great ice cream options (salted caramel and blueberry cheesecake). The food was perfect--I enjoyed every bite. Their drink options were stacked! I got a 16oz Sapporo during happy hour for $3! The Ambiance - Chill, clean, quaint, and relaxing. This is a refreshing contrast to most AYCE places. The vibes were cozy and comforting, making the hot meal in front of us even better. We enjoyed every moment here. Despite being busy, the restaurant didn't feel crowded; they did an excellent job of seating tables appropriately to avoid congestion. We waited only five to ten minutes for a table without a reservation (we came on a Wednesday night). The Service - Beyond anything I could have expected! I haven't experienced this level of customer service in a long time. Our servers, Josh and Tiffany, were personable, attentive, funny, and completely on top of their game. Even Tobias, our food runner, was kind and a pleasure to interact with. Workers like these are rare; they turn new customers into returning ones. I can't express how incredible their service was. They truly put the finishing touch on an already excellent dining experience, raising it beyond a 5-star Yelp rating. The Price - The cost is absolutely worth what you're served. This was a nice little Shabu spot! Momo Paradise is located in Mira Mesa as an all you can eat restaurant. They serve a total of 6 meats, (2 of which are only available during the weekend or dinner time) and are all long pieces. The menu is a bit limited but the choices are enough to fill you up and are varied. You have a section where you can fill up on boba, soda, as well as veggie and other small items that you serve yourself that's a little walk from your seat, similar to a buffet style. The price is a bit high for dinner time, as for two people it comes out to $34 each. The meats were all decent with the pork shoulder being our favorite from the selection. Service was quick and attentive when we went around midday, although I don't think I saw more than 2-3 people working the floor so they did a good job spacing out and covering all of the tables. Ayce shabu shabu in Mira Mesa! Love this spot and have been here a handful of times now. MAKE SURE YOU MAKE A RESERVATION. Wait times for dinner can be hours long without one so make sure to prepare. Food: You pick 1 or 2 soup bases. Shabu shabu, tomato, and sukiyaki are usually my go-tos and will pick based on what the group is in the mood for. Then you order your meats from the menu and they'll bring it out to you. They recommend to order one plate of each meat to start which is great if your not sure what you want. Then you go to the self-serve bar to get your noodles, veggies, etc. to throw in. Next to the bar they have ayce beef curry thats really good but beware as it can fill you up quick. My first time I had like 4 servings of it lol. They also have self-serve milk tea/fruit tea/boba drinks for an extra charge but it's worth it. Enjoy! Service: Staff has always been super nice and attentive each time I've been from start to finish! It can be hard to flag one down at times so I wish they had a better way to get a server's attention especially if you're seated in the back area. I love this place. But I got borderline scammed by them with Inkind. They promoted Inkind on their website. It's basically a way to pay your bill. Kind of like buying food on uber eats and then picking it up. But it works for sit down restaurants too I called them to make sure they accepted it. They said yes. So I bought a $100inkind gift card from Costco for $70. Cool. 30% off for a place you were going to eat at anyway So I ate there. Paid for it. It worked. Then Inkind had a deal where if you deposit $240 cash, you get $320 or something like that. Cool. Almost 40% off for a place you were going to eat at anyway Then I go last Saturday expecting to use it. I find out they don't accept it anymore. I check their Instagram. Posted 2 hours ago that they don't accept it. This really sucks. Momo only agreed to be on Inkind for a few months. Then after I deposited money, they don't accept it anymore. I really only did Inkind specifically for momo. So now I'm stuck with over $300 of credits that I won't even know what to do with. There aren't any restaurants around here that accept Inkind. Came here with my sister on a Sunday for lunch. Was pleasantly surprised. Nice little Shabu Shabu place. Did the AYCE for Lunch. Meat was good. Sliced neatly with good presentation. You have the option of two different soup bases. We choose traditional and sukiyaki. Both broths had lots of flavor. I like a spicy broth so I got some of the Spicy Soy dipping sauce to kick things up a bit. Meats had good flavor. And the servers we very attentive about getting additional meat. Overall a good experience. Will definitely be back. One note is that they charge an 18% service charge up front, but they make sure to let you know once you sit down. read more

Not much of a hot pot fan but of the few that we've tried, this is by far one of our favorites. The service here is great- our waiter seated us quickly and got us started on which broths to get and got us squared away on the meat options. Its all you can eat so be sure to try a bit of everything- we prefered the lean meats which was very good! We went with the waiter's recommendation of tonkatsu and sukiyaki. Both were verybtasty but in order to make it spicy you have to have the waiter add some drops of hot oil which is pretty spicy. They recommended one to two drops but we ended having to do 4 to 5. We can eat pretty spicy so start low and add more if needed. In addition to the hot pot, they have a curry and rice that is included as well. The curry is super good- careful not too est too much or you'll be too full to enjoy the all you can eat hot pot! Also, the drinks are pretty tasty too! They have craft soda and even milk tea and boba for a small additional cost. And lastly, dessert is even included- you get a choice of ice cream. We love coming to mo-mo's, especially on cold cloudy days when soup is calling our name! They have multiple options for broth. You can choose one or two. We ordered the tonkatsu and sukiyaki (our favorite, rich flavorful umami taste). For meats, we ordered beef short plate and beef chuck eye (our favorite meat choice). What I love about this shabu-shabu restaurant is the self-serve bar. They have dry seasonings, several boba and drink options, as well as fresh veggies, Japanese curry, rice and noodles. This place gets busy, and a bit messy at the self-serve stations - more staff may be needed to keep those areas tidy. Our party of four ordered the shabu-shabu (traditional dashi made in-house with kombu and bonito) and tonkatsu (rich and creamy pork broth), and went to town at the Farmers Market and Drink Garden. In retrospect, filling up on drinks may not have been the best AYCE decision (duly noted for next time ;). For proteins, I preferred the beef options (chuck eye, short plate, and eye of round) over the pork (belly and Kurobuta shoulder) and chicken (thigh), but you may as well try everything since it's all included... Omg, I LOVED the food here! This hot pot is AYCE and all you can drink (boba, teas, etc.) for additional couple dollars. It's such a great deal. Definitely make a reservation as the restaurant fills up quickly. Plenty parking available in the lot. We started with the curry and salad. Definitely recommend the curry and rice, it's so flavorful. The Farmer's Market has a variety of different veggies to try, all super yummy. As for meats, we tried them all except the chicken. We ordered the tonkotsu and sukiyaki broths. The sukiyaki one is way more flavorful. The mo-mo paradise drink was yummy, definitely on the sweeter side! The boba wasn't great, but it's awesome they have that available. The scoop of ice cream was such a great treat and it's included in the price, which is a plus. Definitely recommend giving this place a try. I'll for sure be back for more! read more

We came around lunch, and since we had a reservation, we were seated quickly. The restaurant was also not busy when we came in; several tables were open. The staff was also lovely and friendly in assisting the diners. It was my first time coming here, and since I wasn't from the area, I let my brother order the broth for me. He got us the tonkotsu broth. The tonkotsu broth was light and flavorful. The meats were also great. The beef slices were excellent quality and fresh. There was also a great variety of vegetable options, tofu, fish balls, etc, in the bar station. I wished they replenished the noodles at the station. There weren't any udon noodles, and only a few ramen noodles were available. I also enjoyed the milk teas, and I love that you can get milk teas (or other drinks) as much as you want if you get the all-you-can-drink special. Overall, I enjoyed my meal here at Mo-Mo-Paradise. This is a great place to spend time with friends, family or dine by yourself since they cater to everyone. I will definitely come back here again if I'm in the area. read more
