I must say, these bagels are the best in Monroe. They truly taste like authentic New York-style bagels, and I absolutely love both the pastries and the bagels. That said, I'm disappointed with the way the shop is being managed. I'm not sure if the gentleman I encountered was the manager or the owner, but I've been there twice now and both times there were issues with overcharging. The first time, I noticed it but chose not to say anything. This past weekend, another customer spoke up after being charged for more bagels than he actually ordered and received. The gentleman handling the situation was extremely rude, and when it was proven they were wrong, he simply threw the money back onto the counter. It was very unprofessional and uncomfortable to witness. Please continue making your bagels the way you do because they're excellent, but customer service and professionalism matter too. There are plenty of bagel shops around, and people want to feel respected when they walk into a business. read more

These bagels are weird. They are huge, but so light. I loved the crunch, but its almost like they are empty on the inside. Even the way the toast was weird. I'd say 3 stars on these. This is an incredible neighborhood gem! I saw this place was recommended on NextDoor so when I was in Monroe, NJ for a doctors appt on Thurs. 1/29, I made a point to stop here. I ordered a cappuccino(or maybe a latte, I can't remember) and the #5 breakfast caprese. Both were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious! Coffee drink had cinnamon added which was an extra sieve all touch. And they brought both to my table. It was a bit in the pricier side but the portions and food quality made it worth it. Don't get me wrong these bagels are delicious but the service here has declined. They move at a slow pace to get the food made, got the order wrong, and takes longer than it should to input the order into register given they have been open for some time now. These sandwiches used to be packed with pork roll, minimum four slices. Now it's only two slices with extra pork roll being only one slice more! Excellent breakfast and bakery in Monroe. I've been coming here since it opened and it's a great addition to the town. I've mostly been ordering their Avocado toast, and crunchy Avocado because the family loves them, but I haven't had anything bad here, including the bagel sandwiches, challah French toast, beetroot Feta, steak breakfast, egg salad, napoleon, flaky pastries, and croissants. Their staff are super friendly so I'm definitely rooting for this business. I took off one star because their prices are very expensive. When it first opened, they used give three slices of Avocado toast for the same price. Now they only give one! Still, I keep coming back because everything is delicious! Went in one weekday morning. Stood at the counter while the female worker was doing some paperwork. The place was empty but for one couple sitting at a table. I stood there which seemed forever. She saw me but then put her head back down. Great food and very friendly staff! Stopped here for breakfast after a house showing and we were pleasantly surprised by the excellent food and the lovely ambiance of the French music playing. Good selection of food and pastries as well. Unfortunately I couldn't possibly stomach a pastry after that delicious monster of a bagel but they were all very beautiful! Manager was incredibly rude on the phone. Refused to simply put chicken salad on the side after they did it 2 days prior and tried telling me I had to buy it by the pound. Told me over the phone I had to come in and speak to him about the order, then repeated the order and hung up. First time there. The bagel and whitefish salad were good and the coffee was as well. Only negative comment would be that the outdoor tables are set up right by the parking lot so the smell of gas when the cars pull in or out is not very appetizing. When I first came into here I fell in love with the atmosphere. The music and the furniture really fit the nice ambiance the cafe wanted to establish. To order I got the juice made from fresh oranges and sweet oranges. The bagel was delicious the cream cheese was cool and the salmon, tomatoes and capers were fresh. They frequently miss stuff and I have to remind them they missed some stuff. That's not great. I had to update my review from 5 to 3 based on today's experience. It started before I even ordered. The lady(possible owner) said, as I was ordering, to "keep my receipt" in her language while pointing at me. You can easily pick out the words "his" and "recipient" and "keep" when mixed in with another language. I find that strangely odd. I guess they don't appreciate tips for takeout so no tips from now on. Then I proceed to order two everything bagels with egg whites and cheese with s&p. One sesame bagel with whites and cheese with s&p. One sesame with cream cheese and one sesame with butter. One plain with cream cheese. I saw him put two everything bagels on the small clover pos screen but then on the receipt it was only one. It's not great. Then I received my order and go home to discover that the sesame bagel was replaced by a salt bagel. How does that happen in a bagel shop? I go back to get a refund. Got the refund. Note to owners: don't put the onus of proving the validity of the order on the customers. Instead do your job and get your customers' orders correct. Then maybe customers won't have to write bad reviews on the internet. read more

They had potato varenyky prepared but the owner will make them with any filling you want on order, potato-cheese, sauerkraut and even blueberry. I even jokingly asked, what about "stuffed cabbage".
