This winery is truly beautiful nestled in the lush landscaping of Fallbrook. Some local friends and members of this winery invited us for lunch and the food was very good. I tried the Lamb meatballs with goat cheese, making my mouth water as I think about it and also had the prosciutto pizza. Both food items were well done, a friend of ours had a salad with shrimp and berries and it looked phenomonenal. Our hostess was amazing and attentive as was every server who took care of our table. The wine, I tried one glass and it was a very well done Barbera; I highly suggest this glass and hope to make it out to this spot again in the near future. read more

The whole place has this tranquil, almost ethereal feel--beautiful landscaping, old olive trees, white roses, and stone architecture that still feels clean and modern. Monserate has moved to their new location close by the old one. It is absolutely fabulous and we enjoy the wines, food, attentive service, and events. They still have Family Friendly on weekdays, and 21+ on the weekends when they are at their busiest, which is great that all can come and enjoy. (The new locale does not have a big pond/big turf area for kids to play on and get into mischief while their parents are having wine, so that is a big plus for those of us watching while they were climbing trees and throwing things into the pond - lol!) Gorgeous winery with a beautiful stone facade. Charcuterie board, fettuccine bolognese, mushroom truffle pizza were all fantastic. The complimentary focaccia was well salted and herb-y. The affogato dessert (which is a new addition) was very good because they coupled it with a salted vanilla gelato. Cannolis were also yummy. The outside seating was well shaded for the blazing sun. Playlist (80's top 40's...think Le Freak by Chic, Uptown Girl by Billy Joel, coupled with Air Supply) was a bit funky for a winery of that ambiance but I enjoyed the music. I hadn't visited this place prior to them opening their new building. My daughter who visited this place often but not their new building was excited to check out their new place as well as myself. We loved the exterior look as we parked. We were greeted by the friendly host at the entrance. We requested to be seated outdoors even though it was quite warm. We could see the outdoor patio seating and it was so inviting. They do have a section for the wine members off to the side of the bar (where you order your food). You are given a ticket and a menu to look over. You take your ticket with you when you place your food order at the bar. They will take your ticket as you pay for your bill. We ordered a glass of wine and walked back to our table. As we were waiting for our food we admiring the outdoor decor, the water feature, and how the nature just tied in with everything. The outdoor umbrella certainly kept us shaded and cool during the last few days of extra hot weather. Our food was served quickly. We shared a Crisp Pear Salad ($18), Truffled Mushroom Pizza ($23) and Cannolis ($8). Our wine, 2023 Monte Luna ($15) and 2023 Sparkling Grenache Rose ($18). Everything was delicious. We really loved the flavor of the Truffled Mushroom Pizza. I used to be a fan of truffles... I think I am a truffle fan again after having this pizza! If you opt to have indoor seating a server will take your order at your table. There is a nice size section where the gift shop is located. They offer bottled olive oil there as well. I really love Monserate! I've been a member here pretty much since they started offering memberships. The case discount is pretty amazing, the grounds and facilities are BEAUTIFUL, the food is fantastic, and the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. We've spent birthdays, anniversaries, and normal Saturday afternoons with friends and family and have always enjoyed ourselves. They even do comedy nights with actual comedians you've heard of, painting nights, and other great events. There's lots of parking, they have areas to stay cool when it's hot outside, and there are TONS of places to enjoy their awesome Italian-style wines. read more

This is an update from an earlier post. I complained about the parking (as a member). Those who read this please be patient. Yes, Sunday afternoons are pretty busy but.. worth the trouble! The wines are great! Especially the 2024 Falanghina and their 2023 Negroamaro! ( at least those are the two we love). Their staff are kind and very knowledgeable. We had Kelsi and she was fantastic.!! Definitely a great asset. (I hope they keep.) and the ambience is amazing with live music Sunday afternoons. We are so glad we kept our membership. Decided to try their membership...enjoyed 8 tastings today (pretty much every wine they offer) and chose our two bottles to take home. Sophia helped us with our tastings, she was great! The ambiance is wonderful, however the restaurant has not heaters. The weather is cold and would have been nice is there were heaters. Our server helped us with wine selection. Wines were pretty good... all drinkable, but didn't feel compelled to bring anything home (nothing screamed buy me). They have a complete food menu here. The food was good, but a bit on the pricey side. Also very limited gluten free options. Not dog friendly! Dogs basically aren't allowed, for me this made this place a no-go for future visits as I usually have dogs with me. Suggestion.... 1. Have less workers, so you can charge a reasonable price for food (I'd rather have to wait a little here and there, but pay less) - there were people with nothing to do in the wine tasting room and people just standing around waiting for people to order food (the food came out of the kitchen a fast as a fast food joint). There were 2 people acting as hostesses when the restaurant was practically empty. People are use to a slower pace at a winery.... 2. Allow dogs on a certain part of the patio area -- this would greatly increase your regulars 3.
