Fabulous ambiance, food, and service!! Their margarita pizza and beet salad are my FAVE!

I frequented Temecula's wine country for a decade. With the increasing barrage of party buses and limos, the area was getting less attractive and too busy for a visit, making the drive less worthwhile from North County. In 2023, I started exploring Fallbrook wineries and found Monserate Winery. It's a lovely property to spend a sunny afternoon. Friday-Sunday is 21+. We usually go on Fridays or Sundays. There is live music on certain days. No live music today, Jan 16 Friday. I'm a fan of their Falanghina and Fiore wines, both whites. Food is delicious. We always order calamari and rotate the entrees. There are a lot of dishes that really hit the spot. The monthly specials are worth a try. Like many wineries, they have a venue for weddings and special events. This property is quite beautiful. Even better than what most of Temecula wineries offer. It feels like you're on vacation when you're here. Monserate brings a Mediterranean vibe. It's worth a visit if you're considering this property for your wedding. I'm a wine club member; 2x bottles every 2 months with 4 wines tastings per month. We visit every 2 months. It's always a great time. There are different levels and I think I have the base level membership. I haven't done any of the member events due to schedule issues - trivia night, line dancing, etc. They look fun. Staff is cordial, friendly. It is difficult to find parking when there are weddings. It's best to get here early. Keep that in mind during wedding season. There is a free and quick golf cart service that gives a tour of the property. (Give the driver a couple of dollars for a tip!) I'm not sure if they do pickups. I've only taken it from the main building. The property does not allow dogs. We'd love to bring our pup. However, that keeps the property looking like it does. read more

We visited Monserate Winery over the weekend as one of the stops on a wine tour with Fallbrook Wine Tours, and it was definitely one of the most beautiful locations of the day. The landscape is absolutely stunning--rolling hills, rows of lush vines, and a peaceful, expansive property that really makes you want to slow down and take it all in. The food was surprisingly good for a winery bistro--we shared the Pagano pizza and a Grilled Melon and Burrata Salad which was fresh and flavorful. That said, the service was a little on the slow side, and there seemed to be some confusion among the staff about where our group was supposed to sit. It wasn't a huge issue, but the disorganization did stand out a bit. Despite the hiccups, we had a great time and really enjoyed the wines and the relaxed atmosphere. I do wish we had more time to explore the property, but our tour had us on a schedule and we had to move on to the next stop. I noticed they host events on the weekends like live music, and I'd love to come back and experience that--seems like the perfect place to spend an afternoon. Beautiful winery amongst the oak trees in Fallbrook. The buildings and the grounds are gorgeous. Not too far off the 15 freeway between San Diego and Riverside county lines. They do have a good selection of red, white and sparkling wines. Their food is excellent too. I've had the Caprese salad in the past, today I had the goat cheese and beet salad. Delicious. We have belonged to Monserate Winery from before they officially opened. We have stayed members since that time as we enjoy meeting friends and taking family there on a regular basis. The staff is now well trained and the surroundings only get better and better. It is successful because it is managed by family members who care about the little things as well as keeping aware of what makes an event venue welcoming and successful. I chose this winery to host my daughter's bridal shower because of the promises made during the planning process. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. When we arrived to set up, the previous event was still occupying the space. The tables had not been cleaned, and there were water glasses left over from the prior party. It was not the welcoming start we expected. Before the event, I was promised a tasting of the wines that would be served so I could make informed selections, but that never happened. I was also assured that dietary restrictions would be accommodated, yet they were not observed. Throughout the shower, the service was lacking. We repeatedly had to ask staff to clear dirty dishes from the tables. The iced tea and lemonade were brought out very late, and the wine was not served until after the food had already been served, which disrupted the experience for our guests. Overall, I was very disappointed. The level of service and attention to detail fell well short of what was promised, and it took away from what should have been a special celebration for my daughter. I hope the winery improves its communication, preparation, and service so future events receive the experience that is advertised. read more

Best wine flight we had. This winery is our new favorite! Seriously better than any wineries in Temecula. Plenty of space here for lunch on a Friday. We ordered a flight of wines and all the wines are super clean, crisp and blended nicely. Pizza was excellent although it does get soggy (especially the mushroom) quickly. Beautiful views and ambience was peaceful! Service was outstanding. Everyone here was so friendly and helpful. Shoutout to Nick who took us back to where the wine was made...such a special treat to see. And he even got us tiramisu for our ten year anniversary. What a great family owned place! This winery is truly beautiful nestled in the lush landscaping of Fallbrook. Some local friends and members of this winery invited us for lunch and the food was very good. I tried the Lamb meatballs with goat cheese, making my mouth water as I think about it and also had the prosciutto pizza. Both food items were well done, a friend of ours had a salad with shrimp and berries and it looked phenomonenal. Our hostess was amazing and attentive as was every server who took care of our table. The wine, I tried one glass and it was a very well done Barbera; I highly suggest this glass and hope to make it out to this spot again in the near future. read more

Great food, good wines, and a lovely atmosphere. The staff was friendly, and the overall setting made for an enjoyable visit. We are members as a note. That said, the numerous and somewhat unusual rules make the experiences more complicated than they needed to be. There seemed to be restrictions on where certain items could be ordered, which created unnecessary confusion. For example, even in the members' area, wine tastings could not be ordered at the table and required a separate trip to the bar. I also noticed significant inconsistencies in tasting pour sizes. While at the bar with friends, I observed large differences in the pours being served--not just between different people, but even between tastings of the same wine. I brought this to the staff's attention and was told they did a large pour for one glass? Overall, the food, wine, and atmosphere are excellent, but the confusing ordering procedures and inconsistent tasting pours detract from the experience. Simplifying the rules and ensuring more consistent service would make visits much more enjoyable. read more

The service is exceptional and the staff is very knowledgeable about the history of Monserate and the wines they make. To tell you the truth, pizza was good but the pasta dishes were not good. It was like old pasta and. Old too. Dry bad. The wine was good. We got some white wine service was good. They change one of the dishes for another pizza. read more

Monserate has moved to their new location close by the old one. It is absolutely fabulous and we enjoy the wines, food, attentive service, and events. They still have Family Friendly on weekdays, and 21+ on the weekends when they are at their busiest, which is great that all can come and enjoy. (The new locale does not have a big pond/big turf area for kids to play on and get into mischief while their parents are having wine, so that is a big plus for those of us watching while they were climbing trees and throwing things into the pond - lol!) They also have other beverages other than wine, which is great, as we have some beer folks that are in our group. read more

Monserate Winery is one of my go-to spots when I want something calm and serene. The whole place has this tranquil, almost ethereal feel--beautiful landscaping, old olive trees, white roses, and stone architecture that still feels clean and modern. I love coming here for brunch or lunch. The pizzas are delicious, and the salads are super fresh and creative. The tasting room is great too--they offer chocolate pairings, which is such a nice touch. Plenty of shaded seating, a solid wine selection, and just an overall relaxing vibe. Gorgeous winery with a beautiful stone facade. Charcuterie board, fettuccine bolognese, mushroom truffle pizza were all fantastic. The complimentary focaccia was well salted and herb-y. The affogato dessert (which is a new addition) was very good because they coupled it with a salted vanilla gelato. Cannolis were also yummy. The outside seating was well shaded for the blazing sun. Playlist (80's top 40's...think Le Freak by Chic, Uptown Girl by Billy Joel, coupled with Air Supply) was a bit funky for a winery of that ambiance but I enjoyed the music. Great winery with beautiful scenery in Fallbrook! My husband and I have been here multiple times and have had nothing but good experiences. The Italian food is delicious and freshly made from their onsite restaurant. I even had my baby shower at the winery and Tristan went above and beyond to make sure it turned out just how I wanted.
