I booked a June 2025 move appt, on 5/21 & 2 days later I canceled the moving appointment May 23. Due to a family decision to cancel the June move. I was told by Andrea at Monster Moving, I would receive a system cancellation email, it's approx 2 weeks and still no confirmation of the cancellation just a verbal conversation with her. But When I booked the appointment she took my info, payment & I received confirmation immediately via email. Why can't I receive a cancellation notice as confirmation immediately? I was also informed by her my $150 deposit was not refundable because it's the company way of holding the appointment in case I go somewhere else. That's an odd policy, it's like I'm being forced to use them. Most moving companies have a refundable policy within a short specific period. Fine whatever keep the $150. All I need is confirmation of the cancellation, I do not want to be charged for a service I no longer need. This company is a scam!! Terrible experience. I only had six simple items to move, yet they still failed to deliver one of them completely. My patio furniture arrived missing multiple essential pieces, making it unusable. I cannot understand how so many parts of a single item could simply disappear. Because of their carelessness, I had to drive all the way back to my old residence and search the property myself, with help from the maintenance and cleaning staff, hoping the missing pieces had been left behind. They were nowhere to be found. I lost valuable time, gas, and energy trying to fix a problem that never should have happened. What has been even more frustrating is the complete lack of customer service. My emails have gone unanswered, and when I tried following the contact information they publicly provided in response to another review, the email address didn't even work. It feels like once they have your money, they have no interest in making things right. At this point, I believe a full refund of my deposit is the absolute minimum they should offer. I paid for my belongings to be moved safely and completely, and that service was not provided. The missing items have still not been recovered, and the company's silence has only made an already frustrating situation much worse. Finally found the time to update my review. I still stand by the fact that the movers were super helpful! Just be warned that the billing team is terrible. Do not, I REPEAT, do not pay the team until AFTER they provide you with an invoice. Once you process your payment, especially in cash, they WILL not refund you. It took me over a week to get my invoice (which i fought for) because the total sounded incorrect, and it took me over 1 month to get my refund. I believe i was only refunded because i said i would issue a charge back on the deposit. And the deposit was more than what they overcharged me. My friend also used their services and i had warned her about this. However, she felt bad that the movers were so exhausted and was reassured via phone call with billing that the system was messed up and that they will refund her via zelle but she had to pay the full amount so that the movers can go home. Of course, she never got her money back, after more than a month of daily false promises. She lost $405 DOLLARS! Use their services carefully. read more

I hired this company to move my things to Texas as well as a local move March, 2026. From the get-go there has been miscommunication, misquotes, and now they are not answering my calls or texts. To begin with the date they were suppose to come pick up my stuff was cancelled by the person who quoted me prices, Aaron, the owner. Fortunately...I'm actually questioning if this was fortunate or not, Andrea the proclaimed office manager was able to pull a crew together and get my stuff loaded into two separate pods, one to go to Texas and one to be delivered in a couple of months to my new home. While they were loading up my things, I became aware that the price Aaron had quoted for the stuff going to Texas was not the price he was standing by, it was $1000 more than what I believe he told me and I was planning on. At the time my house was due to close in a few days, and I didn't have time to renegotiate with Aaron or a new company so I agreed to the higher price. I even tipped the movers AND Aaron. I still had faith in him. All of the quotes and contracts I was sent were going to my junk mail, and I kept getting requests to sign documents. When I finally discovered they were going to junk mail, it was hard to figure out which documents I needed to sign..... Fast forward to May, 2026, and I contacted Andrea to find out what day I needed to have my stuff delivered so I wouldn't receive another monthly charge for storage on my local move. She gave me the date and 3 days prior I had my stuff delivered. (I have been charged 2 more months on stuff not even being stored.....Andrea's response to this is that they don't pro-rate...WHAT???) my stuff if delivered and the charges are $430 MORE than the quoted amount. I have not been given an invoice for this delivery, so I have no idea what and why I am being charged. Of course, Andrea continues to say all invoices have been sent - she and Aaron have gone over everything and the invoices are correct. Now neither Andrea or Aaron are answering my text's or phone calls. When I call it goes directly to voice mail, and I will receive a text - from Andrea - that she's on the other line or in a meeting and will call me back - that doesn't happen. I had my husband call right after I called and was redirected to voicemail, and guess what - Michelle picked up the phone....hum....I believe my number may be blocked. Michelle told my husband that my stuff will be delivered to Texas sometime towards the end of July. That means I paid a premium for my stuff to be delivered at my convenience only to be having it held for 4 months. I did say I would wait until they could piggyback my stuff onto a truck going to Texas to save money - however, when I tried to forgo this money savings plan, I can't get my stuff delivered. I just checked with the Bureau of Household Goods and Services (BHGS) website to make sure Aaron was licensed....according to their website - his license has been suspended. Warning, I went with Aaron to handle my move because I thought he was a good, honest person and I felt good about him handling my family treasures, now I'm sorry I let my gut guide me. read more

I met Rueben and James, as they were assigned to the inevitable task of moving all our "stuff" down a lot of stairs, then during the unloading phase, back up many more! Bait and switch and extremely expensive. They charged us $4k to move us 20 miles out of a 1400 square foot house. On the first day they promised us 3 movers to arrive at 8am. They arrived at 10 with 2 movers. The main worker/driver was great. The other guy was brand new (2 days on the job) and couldn't read or speak english. He was constantly bringing boxes upstairs that belonged downstairs and visa versa. Ki nda crazy considering they charge $80/hr per worker. Anyways, continuing on the first day. Due to the fact that they had only had 2 workers they weren't able to load and unload the truck within 8 hours. They forced us to pay for 4 hours of overtime on the first day and still didnt finish the job. The overtime rate is $120/hr per person. The first day cost about $2k. The next day they did send 3 workers (one was the same inefficient worker from day 1) . Day two went more smooth but they spent an entire 8 hours to complete the job. After everything was tallied we owed about $4k after tipping the crew. They did work hard. Especially the driver. My big issue is with the management. They wouldnt even negotiate on the overtime from day 1. They knew that they had us in a position where they could name their price. Completely unethical. If they had sent 3 workers there would be need for overtime and it would have saved me about $400. All I asked was to split the difference and take $200 off the bill. They told us that they couldn't do anything about it and to call her boss. We have called for weeks and haven't received a call back. I will be writing negative reviews and disputing the transaction on my credit card. Our original quote was for 3 guys at 4-6 hours. 3 guys is 240/hr. Even 6 hours would have cost $1440. read more

Worst moving experience of my entire life and I have moved plenty. Some details from our experience: - We booked a 4 man move but only 3 showed up, more than an hour late. - They had no tools so I had to lend them my own tools to take things apart or I had to take it apart myself. - A move that should have taken only 1 day took 2 full days because they were so disorganized. This ended up costing us an additional $1400 for a second day. - The first day the movers didn't bring any drinks for themselves. We had to supply them with cases of water and Gatorade. - Several pieces of furniture were damaged including a brand new patio set, new treadmill, broken leg off an armchair. - Both the house we moved out of the the house we moved into sustained damage to walls, floors, doors and stairs due to negligence. - The attitudes of the workers were negative with comments about how we had too many couches and that certain items should not go upstairs. - A firepit table was badly damaged and they spilled all the glass stones out of it and left them on the sidewalk. - Our kitchen table was not reassembled, just placed on top the legs and when we went to move it, the top nearly fell off. - The moving team tried to steal our pizza oven. I found it hidden in a box under some blankets in the back of the truck. When I asked where it was they said they never loaded a pizza oven. - We spent $3400 to get horrendous service, two damaged houses and a lot of beat up furniture. These guys not only no showed on us, then they never refunded our deposit. I contacted Amex to dispute charge and had it refunded and then Monster Movers fought it and got it reversed somehow. So not only will they cancel the NIGHT BEFORE your move, they will then steal your deposit. Unbelievable. Edit: I called Amex and Amex reported that Monster Movers said I cancelled my move. I think when you call someone at 8PM to tell them you are not coming the next day YOU cancelled the move. read more

The actual moving day Ruben and Eric were efficient and professional. And up to that point, I would have recommended them. However, everything after the move became an absolute nightmare. On June 23, 2025, I was overcharged by $405 (paying $1310 for a $905 service). Andrea confirmed this error and promised a refund. For over a month now, I've been caught in a constant loop of lies from Andrea and her team. Communication has been virtually non-existent (Email/Call/Text), and despite multiple attempts they still have not given me my refund. It is now July 28, 2025, and I still have no refund, nor has there been any contact from the 'mysterious' person allegedly in charge of refunds. They promise $140/hr for cash, but if you're overcharged, getting your money back is a struggle. I'm aware that I am not the only person who went through this. What started as a great experience ended in immense frustration due to their complete lack of post-move accountability and follow-through on billing corrections. my 91 year old mother hired this company to move all items out of a rental property that my mom owns. the instruction was to fill up the storage container as much as possible. the movers contacted me the morning of the move and asked if mom wanted to buy clothing boxes. mom did not care about the clothes and i told the mover to just take the clothes as is and put them in the storage place wherever and put as much of the items as possible into the storage. they did not move even one item of clothing and only moved a few boxes of items. they only used 20% of the available storage space and then said they were done. i was not in the same town to check their work. they charged my 91 year old mother about $500.00. the amount they moved was about 10% of the items we told them to move. i asked why and the office had the mover call me. he said he did not know what the plan was and he just moved things he thought we wanted moved. mom is very upset that this company would take advantage of her and as mom's son, i am amazed how horrible mom was treated. i complained and i got lots of lies back from these people. they said they would talk to corporate to see if they can remedy. the office person suggested that i pay them again and they would do it right this time. they also said that i could hire them to take all the items out that are not worth saving and they would trash it and again i would need to pay again. very disappointing that a huge company would take advantage of my mom. if the monster movers make an effort to reconcile this, i will rewrite my review and report what they did, if anything. mom needs to get her rental rented to get he mortgage paid and we wanted all out so the carpet people and the painters and the plumbers can get in. the office at monster said wait and we'll let you know what corporate wants to do. it has been since june 12 and it is now june 25th. this is a horrible experience for my mom. monster, please do the right thing. read more

I used this company on June 29. First thing is they were supposed to move me on June 28. I called up the company around 5 PM to find out what was going on and they scheduled me for the next day. Then they double billed me $1870. They knew they were in error and the accounting manager assured me they would reimburse me. It is September 11 and I still have not been reimbursed. I paid almost $3000 to move 20 miles down the freeway I have been trying to get the money from them all this time And now they block my calls or lie to me when I do finally get through. Criminally horrible company. After the passing of my father, I assisted my elderly mother with establishing a moving company to relocate to a new home. These crooks not only bate and switched the price to take advantage of a sick and elderly woman, but they had the audacity to call her to ask her if she really wanted some of her items and after receiving confirmation that she did indeed want her vacuum, planter, and items in her garage, they still didn't bring her those items. Stolen? Lazy? I'm not sure, but the items definitely never made it to my mother. After hearing of the atrocious experience my mother was subjected to, I called many times and left several messages. None of which were answered. Please note- we are not an entitled family complaining, but a family that was scammed by these monsters. read more

4 1/2 stars? Look below and you'll see a lot of 1 and 2-star reviews. Our complaints are similar to many of the others you'll read here: 1) They quoted us a price for four movers, then sent a fifth one for the move, so the cost was 25% more than the quote. 2) They never wore facial coverings or attempted social distancing. They were also pretty stoned the whole time, but it didn't seem to impair their ability to load and unload a truck. The piano (see below) was trickier... 3) We didn't get the final price until all of our stuff was loaded onto the truck. This is also when they told us they would only accept CASH for the entire move "because of COVID." I had to go to two banks to pull out enough cash to cover the move (plus the tip - see below). 4) They then basically threatened us into tipping them: when five huge guys who have a truck full of all your belongings say to you (this is a direct quote), "WE CAN STILL BE FRIENDS IF YOU DON'T TIP US..." what are you going to do? 5) They couldn't figure out how to remove the legs on our piano, so we had to pay piano movers $200 to do it instead (it took them all of 10 minutes to remove the legs and load the piano). 6) They added an hour to the fee for driving and lunch, even though they didn't stop for lunch and only drove 20 minutes. To keep from being billed another $250, my wife and I had to help unload and move items for the last hour of the move. 7) Our master bed wasn't properly assembled (we found out the hard way the first night) and they never put the feet back on our living room sofa (it took us days to find them). 8) Numerous items simply didn't get moved, including our guest bedroom nightstand (one of two) and the finials on our four-poster bed. There are also electronics missing - an entire box of pretty important stuff. They were NOT left at our previous home (we checked). WHO LOSES A NIGHTSTAND? 9) My conversation with Aaron went like this: I told him what went wrong. He couldn't care less. I told him I'd write this review. He said that if I'd been nicer to him on the phone, he would consider "making things right." Instead, he said I didn't deserve this, then made a lame "flat-tire" excuse to get off the phone. He never returned my call. So we're out $250 for the extra mover, $250 for the added hour, $250 for tipping each guy $50 when they couldn't even get all of our stuff moved and put together, $200 for the piano movers, and the missing nightstand, finials, and electronics. No wonder he won't call me back. Final word: if you're flexible with the pricing, not worried about COVID, have plenty of cash at hand, don't have a piano, can assemble and find replacement parts for your furniture, and are okay if most but not all of your stuff gets moved, look no further than Monster Moving. I set up service for 2 movers and 1 truck. Before I had even read the paperwork emailed to me I got a call from the office verifying the information and took a $150 deposit over the phone. The mover never showed up, no calls, text or email. The lack of communication is inexcusable. If they were so busy they couldn't move me then they should have just said so and I would have called someone else. I then had to scramble to find another mover because I had to be out of my condo and it ended up costing me more. I did dispute the charge on my credit card for their deposit and it was reversed. Two days after I was supposed to be moved I got a call from the driver telling me they were on the way! I never got a call or text letting me know this and my mind reading skills are nil. I told the driver to turn around, they were 2 days too late! I've used Monster twice before and it all went perfectly. This time it was a nightmare. I hired Monster Moving for my move on 03/02/2020. I've used them before and they were great so I decided to go with them again. During the move one of the movers damaged my TV. He admitted to damaging the TV and told me to call his boss, the owner Aaron. I called the next day, but I got voicemail and left a message. I didn't get a call back so I called back again the next day and spoke to Aaron. He said he never got the message. I told him what had happened with the movers damaging my TV. He said he'll send me a claim form to complete. On 03/06/2020 I haven't received the claim form so I emailed and asked for them to send it to me. I received the claim form and completed it and attached pictures of the damaged TV. I did not hear from Monster Moving so I decided to reach out to them on 03/10/2020 and asked if there was an update on the claim. I received a email response stating that it will take 4-6 weeks to process the claim. On 04/05/2020 I emailed to ask if they were able to process the claim. On 04/06/2020 Their response was "Everything is still closed until further notice." On 04/07/2020 I requested the claim number and insurance carrier so that I can follow up on my own. Monster Moving responded that it does not work like that and that everything was done in house. They also said their office will be closed until further notice and that in good faith once they return they will mail the claim refund to me. On 06/26/2020 I called and spoke to Aaron and asked him about the claim. He informed me that the person that handles the claim will be in the office on 07/01/2020. 07/09/2020 I did not hear back from them so I emailed again and asked them about the claim. 07/15/2020 I received the refund check today and it was $30!!!! Is this a joke???? My TV was $1800. I emailed them and asked if this was correct and what a surprise I did not get a response from them. I have been very patient in hopes that Monster Moving would make it right. It really is a shame because I've used them many times before and the movers are really nice but I will never use them again or recommend to anyone. BEWARE, NEVER USE THIS MOVER !! After a previous good experience with Monster Movers I recommended them to a client. During the job the movers damaged the wood floor, dragging a headboard approximately 3 feet across it. I had my wood floor installer estimate the repair which came to $2500. I contacted the owners, Aaron and Andrea, by email along with pictures of the damage, they never responded. Multiple unreturned emails and calls later I was forced to have my lawyer call them, Aaron lied to my lawyer saying he was "waiting for me to call him" and that they wanted to resolve the problem. My lawyer said a $1000 check would be required to satisfy the owner; Aaron agreed that the check would be sent immediately. I confirmed with Andrea and got this response "Hello Michael, Perfect, This check was sent out November 16, 2021 again we apologize for the inconvenience. Monster Moving Team" No check ever arrived. I then sent multiple emails which were never returned. The owners of Monster Movers are liars and very dishonorable. We weren't upset that their employees damaged the property, it happens. But they actively tried to avoid responding hoping we'd go away and then lied to my lawyer about sending a check to repair the damage they caused. Never again. Andrea took no responsibility for her mover's actions, immediately taking the complaint personally instead of professionally on the behalf of an actual business not a gang which is how this company seems to run, and she told me that I should "EXPECT MARKS, DENTS, AND SCRATCHES!!" and "I'M SURE YOU HAVE INSURANCE!" The movers also dragged their feet intentionally while unloading to get more time in for more money, smashed my plants, stored items upside down, stuff pillows in a trash can, stacked things on top of each other roughly, in a brand new property with perfectly white walls. They also pushed me to go get cash stating that their manager would take a long time 45 minutes or so with a credit card transaction. Prior to the move, I had serious questions regarding my move that went unanswered both via email and phone. But Andrea disappeared after we initially set up the move even though she said I could call her, and she never confirmed if my issues were resolved. I am certain based on other review responses I see that they will continue to try their hardest to make the customer look bad instead of simply taking responsibility for their greediness and lack of concern for people's property, hard-earned money, and presumed trust in their service and care. Not only did they go above and beyond where assembly was concerned - they talked me through the process every step of the way. Not only were they nice guys - they were super funny too. This is my second time moving with Monster and they do a great job so I want to give them a five-star review. They are great at what they do, but here is why I cannot give them a five-star review. My fiance and I used them for our move last week. We offered the guys drinks on their break, we tipped them well, and my fiance even helped them with the moving. All are things we are happy to do. However, a family heirloom disappeared in this move. His grandmother's wedding and engagement rings, which were to be mine, passed on through generations. Sadly these disappeared the day of the move. My fiance contacted Monster and they had him check in with the two guys who completed the move. The first guy answered and said he did not see the rings /ring box. I was so thrilled that this company could help with my moving needs with such short notice, I called them two days before needing services. They were helpful and kind on the phone. When the movers got here they were fast and efficient. They were able to move me within the time frame I requested (an hour and a half over). Here is where reality started setting in: When I made the reservations it was made clear a table needed to be dropped off at a second location BEFORE unloading the truck at my new place. The drop off point was on the way to the new place. I was informed by the driver that the address wasn't a good address and I needed to send another one (there is only one address and it pulled up on my maps). They decided to drive 30mins out of the way to unload the truck then had the balls to ask what to do with he table... they wanted to charge me time and delivery for a table the should've been dropped on the way... it was very shady. After much deliberation with the driver, I wasn't charged. They also did not screw the slats down on the king bed they put together and left me without the screws to do it myself. (Not my responsibility being that they were paid AND TIPPED for a job half done). Part of my bed was pulled off and some boxes and things were damaged. I was not happy. Good for the price but if you are moving expensive, priceless things I'd shop around... And seriously, guard your screws! read more

However after recommending them to my daughters and having several items damaged as well as issues with billing, I must change this to a one star review They are having nothing but problems resolving this issues. It is very disappointing to be let down so bad after making the referral We had a five bedroom move along with washer, dryer, freezer and treadmill. The team showed up on time, were very friendly and worked very hard. Seemed to take great care wrapping furniture as needed. Also taking apart the large items. They also unloaded and placed furniture as directed. No major issues and all done in 7 hours including a 45 mile drive. I would use their service again. read more
