Having experienced all three within a rather short timeframe of one another, I can tell you that having completed my second cross country move in 4 years I discovered a company that removed all the stress, anxiety and apprehension associated with such a move. I can tell you that they found ways of saving me a considerable amount of money during the initial estimate. Many of us hang onto items from our past of which we have become reluctant to dispose. Mine were books and items of clothing. Because these items can cumulatively weigh a significant amount, the cost of the move across country can be likewise significant. This company, is friendly and worked hard to get your move but that is where it stops. They are the elitome of horrible customer service, apathy and greed. My work with government has taken us all across the country with many moves. The best moves we did ourselves. Maison promised to change our opinion of professional movers, claiming great customer service. careful handling, on time service anmd minimal claims. They got the on time part right but nothing else. Damages were slightly better than the wkrst we ever used but handling was careless causing a great deal of damages, lost items, items left behind and an extreme amount of additional work on our part. They demand payment before delivery because they know they would not get paid once you see how they handled your possessions. Our adjustable bed, bedding, valuable artwork, 65" TV, work tables, living room tables all damaged, clothing, power cables, expensive kitchen knives, wheelbarrow, pistol, kitchen appliances missing and items just dropped off and not placed in proper rooms because driver, who we never saw, decided they were done and just left. Every box we packed ourselves they had kicked holes in in a deliberate effort to cause damage. Now follow up with 10 days of requests to resolve shipping issues which were NEVER addresses, a rude claims person who inferred the damages were somehow our fault and if we fixed the medically prescribed bed, so we could sleep, or order replacement cables for TV, Computer or other items we would not be reimbursed and if we paid someone to finish their delivery it would also not be reimbursed. The packers ignored instructions of myself or wife and left cords all over the place which my wife picked up for them and then were left behind anyway. At delivery they left without the promised positioning in respective rooms. We found boxes with Rolls of paper, shrink wrap, partially used tape rolls and partially eaten food that stained bedding. This is the absolute WORST moving experience ever! I wouldn't wish this company on anyone. We had to ask for legible inventory sheets and still couldn't decipher it all. Finally got the claim submitted and crickets. Waiting a week to see if theyrecognize it was even filed. And althouhg Maison now claimes they had nothing tondo with my move and everything was subbed out their claim before the move was hkw they would handle everyrhing and were my point of contact as a National Van Lines mover. This is the common disclaimer mover spew when the move goes awry. They were in charge to the end! Worse than HORRIBLE! because of their most recent claim, contrary to their initial assurances. I used Maison to move 18 months ago and then again for a very similar move one week ago. I paid just over $500 for the first move and they were quick and nothing was damaged. One week ago, they charged me over $1000 for the same items to a location about five minutes further. The movers they sent were obviously going very slowly and when I approached them, they started saying that they were almost done. I pointed out that it was taking significantly longer than my last move to which they responded that due to some "trouble" in Chino, they now have to warp everything and that takes longer. I called the office to speak to a manager about. His name is Larry and upon review he noted that my mileage included a four minute detour each way for lunch. He agreed to refund me the cost of this as four minutes each way is eight and drive time is doubled and then rounded off. He said he would talk to the movers about my inventory and assembly to find out why the move was still nearly two hours longer. He never returned my call. I called two days in a row and was told that Larry was busy both times. One employee reviewed the issues with me again, said that Larry would call me back that day or the next but he did not. He also stated that he was surprised that I didn't have issues with the two guys they sent for my first move implying that those guys were incompetent which is why they moved me so quickly without damages. I specifically asked them to refund me half the difference in move time as it seemed like a fair resolution for a repeat customer. No response. It's how companies handle issues like this when they arise that speaks to the leadership and trustworthiness of the organization. I will not be recommending them or using them again. read more

The actual moveing service was fantastic...Eddie & Martine called to tell me they when they would be there, arrived on time, were courteous and polite even when the HOA was very difficult to work with. They called at the last moment within the scheduled window to say they couldn't get in contact with their crew. So... that really sucked. When you have to be out by a certain date, you need a committed mover that's going to show up. Maison failed in that regard. Big zero for dependability. The scheduling person on the phone was pretty apologetic and I don't blame them for what happened. But it didn't make it better. I also moved from Irvine to Fullerton and it was just so easy. The guys did everything so well asked me questions and gave me updates throughout the day. I had a really mixed experience with Maison Moving. First off, when I had to move my date because of nonsense with my apartment, they went above and beyond to make sure they got people to my apartment when and where I needed it. Which I truly appreciated. 5/5 experience with them on the phones. A little bit of background to explain why I get frustrated: I had permission from my apartment to use movers the day after my move out date as long as I got my keys to them by 9:30 AM. Otherwise they'd charge me an extra days rent: ~$65. Now I had told the company I only wanted 6-10 heavy/unwieldy items moved and I had moved or would move everyone else. The plan was to have them move the big furniture pieces and then, worst case scenario, I'd pay the extra rent and take the rest of the day moving the small stuff. Now when the movers got there, they said they called me. They had the right number, but I had no missed calls which was odd. So we're already starting off on a bad foot. I tell them what I want to prioritize and I even had a whole white board with the items in order of importance! So the company knew, the movers knew, and there was a visual aid. The movers proceed to move everything instead of the things I actually need moving. And instead of calling it after an hour of moving furniture so we can make it to the move site, I'm held hostage by still needing the furniture moved. The move time at the original location is double what I hoped even with me and my girlfriend eventually moving a lot of the little stuff to try to keep them focused on the furniture. We have to rush to turn in the keys in time to get out without also paying extra rent for the day while they're moving the last 3 pieces. There were a couple other minor issues, but they were mostly resolved and not worth mentioning. The whole day went from something that was supposed to make my life easier to extremely stressful and ruining the whole day. We eventually got to payment, which was $200+ more than what we expected. Again, the idea was to stay on budget by closely watching the time and having them stop with smaller stuff we could move on our own. So I pay an extra $90 cash that I had on hand and then talked to Daniel (I think) on the phones afterwards before paying any more. I can't, in good conscience give Maison 5 stars because the moving aspect was so stressful the whole time watching them not do what I clearly asked them to do and then trying to charge me for doing more than I wanted them to. But Daniel waived the extra $100 or so. So we met in the middle and I really appreciated that he was able to listen to my story and meet me halfway and not charge me any more than I had in cash. Another aspect is that the workers did work that long and should be paid for their work, so I understand. I think I could bump it up to 5 stars if they were able to not charge me the extra $90 I had to pay. But I feel like Daniel was already stretching his capabilities with what he could do. The beginning with the several people I worked with to make sure I had the movers at the right time and Daniel at the end bump this from a 1 star review to a 4 star experience. Let me start by saying we have used this moving company 3 previous times when they were under their previous name and these were local moves. We just had a long distance move within California and it was a terrible experience. The booking process went well, and I sent pictures of everything we had. The movers did a walk through to see what all was to be loaded and then started to load up. The guys worked quickly and seemed to do a good job. Close to the end, they stopped and notified us they were concerned that we would go overweight. The solution was to put the rest of the stuff that was not essential on a second truck, and we would receive those items within the next week. Everything moved so quickly that we were not aware of everything that was put on that second truck. The movers unloaded the first truck at our new place and everything went well. We had to contact the company to see when we would get the rest of our items daily and we got the same response of 'we are looking into it'. They were trying to get another job set up to bring our stuff at the same time, but all of those trucks were full. We started unpacking and noticed that we were missing some essential items. The company came back and said they could deliver our stuff the following week, which would be 2 weeks from the original move. This was unacceptable and not what was agreed upon. They finally agreed to deliver our stuff 5 days after the original move. The movers seemed to be annoyed, but that is not our fault and they should take that up with their management. We were really upset to find that a lot of stuff on the second truck was broken or damaged and almost seemed to be done intentionally. The management needs to have better contingency plans put in place for situations like this and we provided everything we were supposed to. They are the professionals and should know how to handle it. We also did not appreciate how management tried to make it seem like they were doing us a favor by not charging us to store our items from the second truck and then drive it to us. This shouldn't have been on us anyways. It is a shame at how bad this company has gotten, and we will not be using them ever again nor would we ever recommend them. read more

I used their services for a move of a one bedroom condo in Newport Beach. Well, two movers showed up unfortunately one had no clue what to do and stood around most of the day. Since I paid for two movers and it's an hourly charge, this was very disappointing as it took much longer with only one person really working. I reached out to the company several times via email with my concerns they never responded. Another issue we ran into was all of the hardware for the furniture never made it to the destination, making it impossible to put the furniture back together. While the one mover that was in charge was very good and worked very hard which we appreciate we paid for two and did not get two. If I could give Maison Moving 0 stars I would. Don't go through this moving company if you have any sentimental items because they simply don't care about your stuff. After 4 months from using their services to move things into my storage unit I found several things that were broken or damaged. My nightstand broken in the back. Box with glass cups broken. The most heartbreaking thing that they broke and seem to have no remorse over is my brother's and my dog's urns were broken with the ashes now mixed together. The ashes were also all over my couch pillows. Talk about being traumatized and having to relive a moment in my life I thought was laid to rest. When I called to let the company know on Saturday 4/20/24, I was informed that the person who handles things of this matter wouldn't be in til Monday........a matter like this should never be delayed and addressed immediately, which this company seems as if they could careless since it's not their family member. The team of Leo, Angel, and Jake arrived promptly this morning and set right to work loading up my considerable mountain of stuff. I was ready with everything boxed and labeled and in short order the guys had my life in their truck and set off for the 3 hour ride to my new home. Upon arrival the team began to unload and place my furniture and boxes as I directed them. The guys were fast, efficient, and careful and in short order had taken all my well-packed/wrapped/placed items out of their truck and put them where I asked. We lost one castor wheel off a giant file cabinet as it rolled over a bumpy brick entrance, but I just need to screw it back on... I noted no other damage to anything and feel the Maison team were both expert and careful in protecting my items. Overall? I had reasonable expectations of what movers could do, I made the effort to get all my stuff boxed/ready/set to go, and had a successful, low-stress moving experience with Maison. Disappointed with my experience with this company. We recently moved and they added on a charge of $60 for "tape" & "plastic" used to wrap my items. Had I known they were going to charge- I would have told them not to use plastic or tape. We literally had rolls of our own tape sitting on the table and moving blankets which they could have used but inside they used their own and charged us for it. They did not ask before moving forward with these charges, we didn't even know until the end when we were signing papers and confirming payment. These charges were not mentioned prior at any time. Very misleading and dishonest. I will chose a different company next time and will make sure to advise friends and family against choosing this dishonest company for future moves. I would also like to add that they did not do anything to protect my floors during the move. They scratched up my wood floors at my new place and left some marks on the ground. read more

The worst experience I have ever dealt with. My husband and I reserved movers weeks in advance. We were left with a complete NO SHOW the morning of. We reserved for an 8-10am pick up to be notified an hour past 10am (and after numerous calls to customer service) that they couldn't get a hold of their drivers. Maison got right back to me, with very reasonable pricing. They sent two movers to the house who were very professional and quick! I live up two flights of stairs, and they wrapped and moved everything out of the house in record time. Due to COVID i was so scared hiring movers. The horror stories I was hearing from friends who had terrible experiences with faux moving companies. I am writing this review because THESE GUYS are legit and wonderful. At first Daniel texted so quickly after asking for a quote, i was concerned, but his follow up/and professionalism was wonderful. We had a call a month later and ended up booking mainly due to HIM! THANK YOU. Everything he said would happen happened. the time frame for the movers were 8-10am, he said "expect them at 10" that's exactly when they arrived. the movers who came (Lazaro and Cruz) showed up - complimented on how organized we were and packed up in 4 hours. They were through, helpful and felt like "friends doing all the work to help you move." 24 hours later they showed up 300 miles north and unpacked in 2 hours. It was glorious. Everything was there, nothing was broken, nothing was damaged.EXACTLY what you expect from a professional mover. The only sad part - i was over on the estimated weight - so my bill was 1,000lbs more than projected - so an additional $600. NO MORE Renting an U-haul truck and going to Home Depot to pick up two guys on the moving day. NOW that I had decided to have to PRO do it. All I had to do was eating breakfast and waiting for them to show up at 10am. I tried to avoid traffic and parking issue so I always ask them to come after 10am instead of 8am. They gave me a window between 10 am to noon but from my previous experience they always showed up a little earlier or exact on 10am since their HQ is in Tustin. My moving took about 3.5 hours and by noon I was done and ready to go out for lunch at my new hood!!! Here's the cost: -Deposit : $95 -Rate: $95/hr for 2 men team (was $75/hr when I first used them 8 months ago) -Driving time double. -You can pay them at the end either using same card you had on file when making deposit or cash, For tip, they accept cash only. You can specific which movers but if you don't they will send random team. I would highly recommend Travis and Orlando team, they are brilliant and efficient. Jarren and Francisco team is also very hard working runs like engine that don't stop. Tips for saving $$$ -Pack everything in BOXES, they use heavy duty hand truck so they can move 5 giant boxes at same time. If Misc. items they will have to put into big boxes to move as a whole. -Wrap picture frames, monitors ...etc yourself, they spent time carefully wrapped my 22" monitor -which I could just put in my car and bring it to new place myself:P -Secure all electronic's cord like lamp or fan otherwise by rule they have to do it for you and it takes time too, -Sort items you need to move by the categories -Take apart furniture like headboard of the bed, that will make in/out room easier. Reason I kept using Affordable Moving and Storage and also recommended to my roommate is because they do have quality service w quality employees. I've had bad experience with movers in the past and was nervous about my upcoming move. Affordable Moving not only has a 4.5 star rating with 50+ reviews but three yelp friends (Timmy S, Mahesh S, & Tamara J) have had great experiences with the company. Not only was my house stuffed with boxes but I have a huge stainless steel fridge that the delivery team had a hard time delivering and a awkward sized treadmill that was assembled inside the room it was in. The two man team(can't recall their names... sorry!) handled the move with ease. Every item including the giant bulky items were taken downstairs and loaded into their truck no problem. They wrapped furniture up so nothing was damaged. The move time was exactly what was predicted and like other reviews mention there's no hidden fees. It's $85 an hour but if you move Tuesday thru Thursday it's $75. They'll also charge you pretty small fee for any bubblewrap and plastic they use. Commute time between property is doubled. So if it takes 30 min to drive over you'll be charged an hour. We actually had a great experience with this move and the pros at Affordable Moving kept it stress free. I highly recommend!! I was helping someone coordinating a move. It's a local and fairly small move as it is in the same city and into a studio apartment. The fee is $105 for 2 movers 3 hours minimum on weekdays, 4 hours minimum for weekends. Half an hour before my appointment the office called to let me know that my moving crew is on the way. The big truck arrived promptly and backed into the driveway. The guys introduced themselves and as I looked up the front was careful wrapped with blankets to avoid dings and scratches. They worked fast and effective, everything was wrapped in blankets and I mean everything. There is an extra charge of $8 per pound if you choose bubble wrap. After everything was loaded they asked me to verify that they've gotten all and we met at the other place to unload. The destination is a senior living community, the guys were polite and patient with the residents and staff. They set up the bed and willingly moving furnitures back and forth to where I wanted. They were courteous and friendly when talking to staff at senior community, worked well with each other. Once again, when all was unloaded, they asked me to look at the truck to make sure that they didn't take anything. They even thanked me for using their service. Matthew and Daniel provided awesome service. They worked fast and efficient, cheerful and courteous to everyone. Don't know if I can say anything better. Strongly recommend. read more

Maison Moving was exactly what I needed. The team of 3 guys and truck they sent were perfect for my move. They were professional, dressed well and all spoke English. They treated all my items with care and wrapped everything with blankets. They packed and moved everything for me and I did not have to lift a finger. I got the premium insurance for some of my nicer items. I will use these guys for any moves in the future. Their customer service was great too. I requested for availability and was lucky they were able to accommodate the same week for a last minute move. They were fast to respond back with information and was very friendly on the phone. Cecil provided all the details and answered questions I had. Day of the move, Daniel gives me a call telling me he had a team of three that will be available during the time frame I had requested. I initially asked for a two man team, but he offered a deal for the three man crew which was slightly cheaper since that was who was available. I took him up on the offer since it would save me money and time, which is exactly what happened. Tommy and his team arrived on schedule. They checked out the apartment and was quick to begin the move. We had majority of our belongings already packed into boxes and needed a few of the bigger pieces disassembled. Everything was handled with care. Once everything was packed and ready, we met them at the new place and they were very efficient with unloading and placing things where they needed to go. Very professional and quick. Highly recommended. Definitely great we were offered the three man crew instead of the initial two man crew with that last minute deal. Made it a speedy process and saved me money in the end. read more
