We always LOVE Montezuma. We live in Summit County and often eat here, when we can catch them actually open!! They close for extended periods of time twice per year and didn't open until long after dining-in was allowed this summer because of COVID. This is kind of frustrating when trying to support a local business that we assume is in business to make money and attempt to stay afloat! That being said, we always enjoy our time at Zuma! The dining room is always clean and they appear to be following all of the endless COVID rules. Their food is also consistently good. We love the salads, the short ribs, and prime dip. Arrived here for a late dinner in Keystone on a Saturday in late March - no problems getting a table but it wasn't easy finding parking at first! Driving over from a condo just a half mile away, our gps took us into a parking garage that we weren't sure if we should be in and didn't see a clear path up to the restaurant so we just headed over to the main ski parking lot and walked in from there. The food was just fine - unique twist on the wedge salad that was a little light on the dressing but heavy on the fixings otherwise (and big enough to share). I had a cup of the tomatillo beef stew and it had exactly one piece of beef, one piece of potato, and the rest was a very flavorful broth. My daughter had a few sides for dinner and outside of commenting that the Brussel sprouts were a little too oily for her she enjoyed the rest. Huge portions on everything! Had some nice local beers on tap. Pretty relaxed vibe overall; dim lighting and March madness games going on the TV but not super loud. This place was good overall. There was only a 15 min wait time for a party of 8 people on a Saturday evening. The service was good although our waiter took a while to give us our tabs. I ordered horsing and a glass of wine. The hot wings were amazing!! They were very delicious--more on cook side but it was different, crunchy, not so hot, but overall flavorful. My fiancé and I paid $70 dollars for both of our food. He got an entree and a soda and I got a glass of wine and some wings--so personally I think this place is overpriced but if you don't mind paying $70 for a little bit of food then this place would be ideal to you! read more

I really liked Montezuma Roadhouse! The bartender was friendly and reminded us it was happy hour when we sat down. I had a Left Hand Milk Stout on draft (because they are the best) for like $5! and my husband had a Pilsner. They had a huge selection of liquor- including a craft chocolate Woodford Reserve I've been searching all over for! We ordered The Keystone, a MR burger that had bacon and pineapple jalapeño cream cheese on it. We are always up to trying something different and this burger was surprisingly delicious. Cooked perfectly! We also ordered 10 buffalo hot wings but they came out kind of soft and without any sauce. I could've used 5-10 more min cooking but the buffalo was delicious for dipping. They are large in size and good quality. You won't get out of overpaying in RiverRun, so expect it and don't let it put a damper on your vacation. read more

We ate the first night of our trip and were so happy with it that we decided to have it again for lunch. The first time we went, there was an hour wait to be seated so we ate at the bar. Our bartender was friendly and quick to take care of us. We were obsessed with their Brussel sprouts for an appetizer. They were great. I got the keystone burger and was extremely happy with it. It had a great flavor and was hot and fresh. I was very happy with my meal. My fiancé got the short rib and the bite I had of hers was great too. Neither of us were able to finish our meals. It was a definitely a 5 star trip. Our second time we went for lunch at about 1. Half the tables were open, yet there was a 20 minute wait which we didn't understand other than hey must be short staffed. We were seated and had a really bad waiter. He didn't seem busy, but must of been going outside to smoke or something as he kept disappearing. We got peppermint mochas to warm us up and were brought coffees with peppermint as he said when he brought it that they were out of chocolate. He should have come and told us about it and asked us if we still wanted it or not. We just got the brussel sprouts and wings to split for lunch as we weren't that hungry. We were going to get some soup but they were out of it. I don't know how you run out of the soup of the day at 1 on a Friday. Our food was really good. When we were finished we waited and waited for him to bring the check. It was a good 20 minutes and I don't know how it was so long because the only other table that he seemed to be working was the one next to us and there were only 4 of 5 other groups in there by then. This experience I'm giving a 2.5 for the lunch due to the coffee and the terrible service. I recently went to Keystone for a four day ski/snowboard trip with a coworker. Every day at the resort, we ate lunch in the little village near the River Run gondola lift. And everyday, we tried a different restaurant to get the full taste of what Keystone had to offer. I did not try Zuma Roadhouse until my 3rd day there, but as soon as I did I wished I had gone sooner. It was easily my favorite restaurant of all the restaurants in the resort. On my day there, I had the Prime Dip sandwich (french dip sandwich) with a side of garlic mashed potatoes. The day before I went to Zuma, I had tried a brisket grilled cheese sandwich at another restaurant in the village and it was super disappointing so I was somewhat tentative and cautious about my expectations at Zuma. Thankfully, Zuma completed changed my opinion about the resort food because it was one of the best french dip sandwiches I have had. The au jus was warm and robust in flavor. The sandwich itself had tender slices of beef and good flavor while the bread was the right consistency to hold the jus without being too hard. The garlic mashed potatoes were also delicious. I would've given this restaurant 5 stars if it weren't for one factor. Flies. The day I was there, there seemed to be a lot of flies flying around the lamps in the restaurant. It didn't bother me too much but it was a little gross and someone with a lower tolerance probably would've complained about it. read more

We sat at the bar and had great seats to watch the game as well. We ordered the wings, the Montezuma burger without goat cheese, and the prime dip. Everything was pretty delicious and cooked well. I'm not sure if the wings are supposed to be as black as they were, but the seasoning on it was good. I believe it was the sweet chilli one. My burger was delicious and I loved the housemade ranch chips. I think I prefer their chips over their fries. Their fries weren't too crispy. My boyfriend enjoyed his prime dip sandwich though. For appetizers, the Potato Chip Nachos ($15 half order) was really tasty and included homemade ranch potato chips/pork carnitas/bbq sauce/creamy onion horseradish/Swiss/provolone/ green onions/pico de gallo, the Drunken Mussels ($17) was also pretty good and included coconut-citrus broth/white wine/fresh herbs/butter/grilled asparagus/grilled rosemary bread, and the Whiskey BBQ Sliders ($14) definitely hit the spot with braised beef short rib/whiskey-onion bbq glaze/crispy onions/gruyere/mini brioche buns/homemade ranch potato chips. I usually leave 4-5 star reviews, because I'm usually pretty easy to please, but I'm not sure what happened with this place. This place made me realize that I do have a lower limit of what is acceptable. The service is ok, my server wasn't super friendly, but neither am I so I guess we're even. Everything tasted so bland. Even the blu cheese was not very blue cheesy. The pretzel bites were good, but the cheese is weird. I don't know how reliable I am in judging cheese because I like Velveeta and Cheese Wiz. They served my 2 year old a medium rare cheese burger. The meat was too raw for a small child. Someone once whispered in my ear that kids shouldn't eat raw burger, they're more susceptible to E.coli infections than adults. Something about 0157:H7 or something like that. But rare burgers usually taste good and this wasn't the case, you can tell those patties are frozen. It's just that weird reddish pink raw frozen meat, no bleeding or anything. The Keystone burger was too busy and just a loaded with flavors that don't mesh. Oh yeah it took 1 hour for our food to be delivered. Yup a full one. Not sure why, no explanation, just super slow. It wasn't super busy either. For much less there's a pizza place nearby and a coffee shop nearby with good stuff. Or else go to town, skip this spot. read more

This is a great restaurant in the Keystone resort area. The seating area is huge and able to accommodate our party of 8 easily. Our server, Bobby, was attentive and nice. Needs a serious remodel and lighting. Food is ok at best. $7 for french fries? That is a high-altitude price. Brussels Sprouts side was $13 and was passable, more like an $8 dish. On to entrees. We had the peanut noodle bowl. Who would have thought you could make a Thai dish with Skippy's? We had dinner here during the 2019/2020 ski season. I had the Thai Peanut Noodles and my wife had the Short Rib Enchiladas. We also started out with the Street Fundido. The Street Fundido was pretty bland, and served only warm, not hot. Additionally, the Fundido was served with an inadequate amount of pita, so we had to pay in order to get more pita and finish off the Fundido. Our entrees were also served just warm, not hot, and in a ski town like Keystone you want hot food. We thought that the ingredients were fresh in both dishes, but they both lacked overall flavor. What a relief to find a place in a relatively isolated ski resort/area, where we were visitors without a car and too lazy to think about or take public transportation. Which by the way is free. We ate there three of this nights. Food in general was prepared well. If you are looking for a good, home cooked style burger they have an excellent burger. Not too greasy, flavorful, customizable, fries are awesome (kids loved them) The wings were great. Reasonable meatiness, sauces were delicious- we kept getting the bbq and the sweet and spicy sesame. Had the shrimp bowl, and that was refreshing if you are looking for a don't eat too much crap option. Also ordered the Ribeye . Steak was fine. On par with what a steak should taste like, cooked to order, Wasn't a fan of their mashed potatoes though-too much pepper. The Kiddos: Ive got two little boys. And the set up of the restaurant worked. Its a family friendly place. They provide coloring paper, crayons. And free wifi from the keystone village setup. Booth seating was great to coral your kids. We stayed at Keystone for 4 nights and we ate here twice. That should tell u something. The food is really good, especially the steak. The first meal we ordered Ribeye steak, steak tip lunch special, wings and kids meal. We ate it all before anyone could take pics. All their steaks are 1855 black angus upper 1/3 choice which is way better than the market angus steak. The second meal, we ordered soup, salad, macaroni cheese and prime rib bowl. We enjoyed everything we had. If u r in the area and a meat lover like us, u have to try this place. read more

This is an excellent place to have in Keystone village. The food is tasty, and the drinks are delicious. Great place for a family dinner, or to sit at the bar. The atmosphere here very nice. There is a nice dining area with a fireplace, a game room, and a large bar that also has high tops. Stephanie behind the bar is very attentive, extremely nice, and makes killer cocktails.
