Dishes are $15-$20 compared to $20-$30 at most other korean places in town and the banchan is really good. Like really good. The kimchi is saucey, spicy and a little sweet. I can't confirm it's made in house but considering how yummy it is and that they used to sell their own kimchi when they still had the market I will assume it is. They've been around foreverr and I respect the pricing and Im rooting for them But with that said... I ordered the bibimbap and the flavor was good but the rice was soggy, creating a terrible texture that didnt crisp at the bottom of the bowl despite it coming out sizzling. I couldn't finish the rice. I don't believe this is a regular issue so I won't hold it against them. This is where it will turn into a bit of a blog post. If you haven't been here then this part will offer no value. It feels like as time goes on I am more and more disappointed. Like, 15+ years ago they were a market-restaurant hybrid. Eventually they eliminated the market and were just a restaurant. Bummer. Previous to this last visit, they had a self-serve banchan station. So good. So many options. SSS best in town and the reason I came back. They've swapped it out for a self serve malatang. I'm devastated! So, now it's one serving of three banchan and one of them is literally salted peanuts. That and the soggy rice really ruined the experience but I don't want my review to be clouded because I miss the good times. They're doing what they need to do and I highly value the commitment to reasonable pricing without letting the quality of the food completely deteriorate.

Need a good Korean food fix? It's definetly this place!…read more Tucked quietly behind a row of buildings is this little Korean hidden gem that truly feels like home. The resturant is owned by two of the sweetest couples, and you can genuinely feel the warmth and care the moment you walk in. The pop is the chef and the ma is the waitress. The wait time could be a bit longer than other places. Even though the shop is small and not always crowded, the food speaks for itself! It's absolutely amazing! SIDE DISHES :: They serve a selected menu of authentic Korean dishes, and every single seasoning feels perfectly balanced. You can tell everything is made with care and experience. Even the side dishes stood out to me. The fermentation and seasoning are on point! Fresh, flavorful, and not overly vinegary or sour like store bought one. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and comforting. The side dishes comes with fermented kimchi, fermented bean sprout, fish cakes, and sweet fermented potatoes. All of their side dishes are really good! RATE : 5/5 SHRIMP FRIED RICE ($15.99) :: This plate is so simple yet so comforting too. It's not blasted full of flavors but it's perfectly and lightly seasoned. I can taste the light MSG seasoning on this dish. I love it how this plate is not supper oily like any other chinese fried rice. Besides that, there's nothing something special on this dish. If you have young kids and need a quick fix, this plate is not bad. It's not that fatty or oily. RATE : 5/5 SPICY RICE CAKE ($11.99) :: You have to ge this dish! I love their sauce! It's perfectly seasoned! Sweet, salty and spicy. The sauce is thick like they puree pears in it. I'm not sure what is made out of but the text feels like puree pears/apples/potato. The rice cake are perfect cooked! It's soft amd chewy. Very spongy. It goes so well with the sauce. On a note though, the spice level creeps up and could be a bit too spicy. RATE : 5/5 BLACK BEAN SAUCE NOODLE ($13.99) : I originally was looking for Paiks Black Bean Noodles but they closed it down. Im glad that this location have it. The sauce is amazing but i think the noodles are a bit too wet. They couldn't grip onto the noodle much. The whole experience on this dish is a bit disappointing because there not enough sauce and the noodle couldn't grip the sauce so the noodle taste like wet starchy sweet noodles. Besides that, i love the black bean sauce! RATE : 4/5 INTERIOR :: Is a bit out dated with plenty of seatings. Chairs are clean. Tables are well kept but still sticky and smells musty old towels. The bathroom location is located back in the hallway. It's a bit dark and creepy. They do have a few claw machine for activities. RATE : 2/5 SERVICE :: What a sweet couple but be aware that they might miss you. My group and i walked in and seated our self. There's no greeting. We have to flagged someone out from the kitchen. Samething when paying too. That's the difficult part. Their service is horrible but these two couples are really sweet. RATE : 2/5 OVERALL :: There's something really special about finding a quiet little spot like this. It may not be the busiest restaurant in town, but the quality, authenticity, and heart behind the food make it such a memorable place to visit. Definetly one of those hidden gems worth supporting!

Staff were friendly and there were menus for the drinks and food. They also had indoor and outdoor seatings. Majority of their menu were handhelds and shareable which is understandable since it's more or a brewery/bar setting. I got the Caesar salad with no chicken as well as the truffle fries. Truffle fries were very good and seasoned. Caesar salad was okay, most of the lettuce was already soggy but i should have asked for the sauce on the side. It seems like their tacos and handhelds are really popular so I'll try that next time. Overall good foods and good times. I'll come back.

Sadly disappointed…read more My friends and I stopped by Commonwealth on a Saturday afternoon for a late brunch. It was a beautiful day so it was busy for both indoor and outdoor seating. Here, you order your food, grab a number, and find your own seat for the food to be brought out to you. We sat at a table outside to decide what to order. There were no menus available so we just had to search for it online before heading inside to order. Despite being third in line from the register, we had an extremely long wait to order. There was only one person running the register who also had to make the drinks, meaning the service incredibly slow. We wanted to order the five taco platter, garlic fries, chicken Caesar salad, and mimosa pitcher. Sadly, we were only able to get the pitcher and salad. The cashier told us "sorry, we aren't doing fries right now." Not doing fries? Every plate in the vicinity had fries on them. She said that because it was brunch hour, only food on the brunch menu could be ordered. We looked at the brunch menu again and literally saw garlic fries as an option as a side for the burgers/sandwiches. No where did it specify that you can't order off the other menu and both were available online. What bothered us about this is that we placed this order at around 1:50pm, and brunch ended at 2:00pm. I understand that we are not entitled to things on the lunch menu during brunch-time for items like the tacos, but considering the menu swap was less than 10 minutes away and they were quite literally were "doing fries" at the time, it didn't make much sense to us. The only food that we ended up ordering was the Chicken Caesar Salad. This one dish took a super long time to receive. By the time it was brought out, the three of us nearly finished the Mimosa pitcher. The waitress noticed we had no silverware and said she would go grab us some. Because of how the service had been going thus far, we placed a bet on whether or not the waitress would come back with the silverware. Surprise, surprise. She didn't. We had to go inside later and search for silverware ourselves. We weren't even able to get sharing plates which was upsetting since the waitress asked us if we would be sharing the salad. The salad itself looked delicious, but was bland. The dressing was missing that zing and zest that a Caesar dressing typically has. I do appreciate that is was a chopped salad, had avocado, and seasoned croutons. It is just unfortunate that it was lacking any flavor at all. The food prices are quite affordable for the quantity of food you receive though. This experience was disappointing because I was so optimistic about the place. The menu looked good, it had fun and casual vibes and a cool crowd of people. If Commonwealth worked towards better service practices, it would have been a more positive experience.

We were there a little earlier than the night crowd so we had a bit of space and "quiet" time to ourselves in the back for quite some time, took our pics and whatnot. They have a lot of areas that would make for great photo ops for sure. We all ordered different drinks. White Lotus, Havana Mule, & Matchatini. I think we all unanimously agreed that the Matchatini was the best out of the bunch but they were all pretty good... the White Lotus being the strongest out of the bunch. Our waitress was very nice as well and suggested the Matchatini to the birthday girl, which she was already eyeing so that sealed the deal. I don't remember any food options on the menu, for those wondering... we had just came from dinner so that didn't matter to us but it's good to know for next time. The music... was interesting lol. Not something I'd want to listen to all the time but the DJ enjoyed himself. I hope that was just that night and not the music choice every night... Overall, we enjoyed our time here. Very cute spot for a girls night (and date night).
