A friend and I shared 3 dishes and drank some ranch waters for lunch on a summer Tuesday…read more -Puerco Y Jalapenos (Jalapeños stuffed with chorizo cream cheese wrapped in bacon and served with a cilantro lime cream sauce) were probably the best of the 3. -My companion liked the Esquite Bombs (Putting a twist on traditional esquite, corn, potato, chihuahua cheese, cotija cheese, cilantro, guajillo cream, and takis crumbles. Rolled and deep-fried into savory balls of heaven) next best, while I found it to be a little dry and Taki-crumbles overtook the taste. Still good! -The Meji Glizzy (12″ Beef hotdog wrapped in jalapeno and bacon on a bun with mayo, slaw, cheese, onion, cilantro, guajillo sauce, avocado, caramelized onion, and potato straws) was a delicious take on a hot dog, if a little messy. -The Ranch Waters were light and refreshing, as they should be. I got the birria and carne asada tacos - both so flavorful I had to order more than one of each! On top of that, our server had such a friendly energy that made the experience very enjoyable. The ambiance is a vibe! Colorful and plenty of space for large groups or an event. Highly recommend checking Mejicali out!

I had a great experience at Lost Saint last time I was in town so I had to return to try more…read moreseasonal cocktails and food. The ambiance reminds me of the prohibition era as it is located in the basement of Tavern & Grocery. My husband and I met up with some of his co-workers and they had a 6 top table to accommodate our group. Service was also excellent this second visit. I had the Dilly Dally and the Roses Really Smell Like cocktails while my husband tried the Lemon Meringue Flip. For dinner we had the roasted cauliflower and pan seared cod fish. The roasted cauliflower had a nice flavor profile with shiitake mushrooms and castelvetrano olives. We were too full for dessert, but we will return.

The place was packed in the main room, though there's a separate room that they opened up. The staff was friendly and cleared tables promptly to help us find a spot to sit. I believe there were some food options, though we did not order any. We did an old fashioned and a bar tenders choice. Not sure what it was, but it was delicious!! It's dark and moody, with lots of candles. I believe you can also enter through the back. Restroom was very gross... but other than that, a great experience. We were just passing through, but I would absolutely recommend and go back.

Great veteran owned brewery with chill employees, great selection of beers and plenty of seating…read moreinside and outside. Husband enjoyed his flight and even got a growler fill of one of the beers he liked. Loved that they have a large selection of games to play.

My husband and I came here with our 2 dogs a few weeks ago while in town to go hiking. We saw…read moreonline that they had a very large, pet-friendly beer garden, so we came here after a long day of hiking to relax with some beers. When we arrived, the parking lot was very full and we quickly realized that they had trivia going on inside. While working our way through the taproom to go outside, we had to walk past a table that is right next to the patio door. It had a big trivia group around it and they had a very reactive dog that lunged and tried to bite both of our dogs. Not a great start to our time there. Once we got outside, we realized we could sit anywhere because not one other person was outside. I stayed by a fire pit area with the dogs while my husband went inside to grab beers. He came back with our first round and we planned out some more places we wanted to go to in Charlottesville during our stay. Not once while we were there (for 2 hours or so) did a single staff member come out to check on us or offer to turn on the gas fire pit. My husband said that the woman at the bar the couple of times he went up there was friendly enough, but there were several other people on staff that didn't acknowledge him/us our whole visit. As it got closer to closing time, we noticed people leaving, but the parking lot seemed to stay full with the same amount of cars. I'm not sure if there is a car repair place nearby and they share parking or if 90% of the people inside decided to ride share home, but it made us think for a long time that a lot of people were still inside for trivia night. My husband went inside to close out and saw that only one other table was still there, so we packed up our stuff we brought for the dogs and went to head inside to leave after finishing the last of our beers. We took our empty glasses up to the bar and the last table inside had just left, so we were the last customers. The woman standing at the end of the bar completely ignored us, didn't thank us for coming in, and stayed on her phone the whole time. It was just super rude and only enhanced the overall unpleasant experience we had during our time there. The beers were good and they seemed like a popular spot for a trivia night, so maybe it's better to visit and stay inside, but we didn't have a good time and wouldn't come back if we are ever in town again. I did really like that they had a community area for fresh food for people in need.

I wanted the peppers a little sweeter and overall it was missing the wow factor. Order the godfather and swap the provolone for cooper sharp. This is THE best Philly I've EVER had. I am extremely picky with this sandwich and this literally is so good it's unbelievable. Fresh soft tasty bread with the perfect amount of chew, perfect portions of onions and peppers, wonderfully seasoned meat. You literally can't beat it. If there's a better Philly than this, I haven't found it. The chicken tenders I felt sort of weird about in my last review have been adjusted as well and are now so amazing I could inhale 10 of them. So good. The marinara is some of the best I've ever had. The mozz sticks are awesome and very well done. The ONLY thing I didn't 10/10 love was the garlic bread, it had sort of a sweet flavor to it. Still a good portion and value. With how impressive the rest of the food was this place deserves 5 stars. Great little late night spot with amazing food.

Total came out to approximately $60, not including tip. What's hot - Quality. Delicious. Hubby really liked their sweet potato fries. Slightly crispy on the outside, but soft and chewy on the inside. My portobello mushroom sandwich was delicious. Everything was well seasoned and the vegan cheese melted nicely with everything, which added to the flavor. Their coleslaw is listed on the menu as vinegar based, which it was and I enjoyed. Definitely a vinegar kick, but not overly so. We really enjoyed their chili cheese tots, which had a good amount of toppings, and was served warm. - Menu. Very good variety, especially vegan options. Dessert menu has vegan options, as well. - Price. Good value for money. It can cost less than $20 per person, unless you add drinks, appetizers, and/or dessert. - Service. Very good. Reliable and dependable. - Ambiance. Pretty cool that they have pinball games, video games, and a few board games and card games to play to keep you occupied. Be aware their pinball games and video games only take quarters, so you need cash. They have seating for groups of 2 up to 6. They also have scheduled events for the public, Iike trivia night. That they're open to all parts of the community, like LGBTQ, is visible and appreciated. - Parking. There are a few parking spaces in front of the restaurant. There's a larger parking lot behind the restaurant, which is helpful. What's not - Lighting. Indoor lighting is not the best, especially later in the day and when they have their curtains drawn. - Outdoor seating. On the one hand, it's nice to have outdoor seating. On the other hand, they have a sign that appears to indicate outdoor seating is self-serve, which can be inconvenient. Final answer Worth returning.
